I caught this dumb bird in the originals and in the shitty remakes, what do I win?
Link to lists of these pokemon?
any non-guaranteed shiny in Gens 2 through 5
Oh, starter softresetting homosexuals aren't welcome since you technically didn't [caught] the mon.
They put more effort than you did kek.
This thread is not about effort. For that, go somewhere else or make a new thread about it. Here, it's about how ungodly lucky we are.
True luck chads get pokerus. REAL luck chads report here
Then go make another thread about "Only anons that have caught a Pokerus meme with 1/9999999 odds allowed in this thread" thread. GTFO
ive encountered pokerus more often than full odds shinies, usually before even the second badge. i wish it was the other way around...
I have dozens of pokemon with the pokerus. I caught one with it in silver but didn't know what it was so I didn't even notice until it had the recovered from symbol, but then I ran into it again in diamond and spread it to everything I trained.
Does it spread through ranked battles?
I was thinking of finally breaking down and buying a switch today, could spread the love.
It spreads to every pokemon in your party, and then they can spread it, and pokemon don't recover if they're in your pc either so you can basically infinitely spread it just with 1
Yeah I know...that's why I said I spread it to everything I trained. Can I spread it through online to other players is my question.
Caught plenty
>azumarill, twice (platinum, same route)
>eevee (heart gold)
>woobat (black 2)
>rhyhorn (platinum)
>minccino (white 1)
Never found one in gen 3 though 🙁
Also got pokerus 3 times
>Eevee, HeartGold
How? You only get one Eevee from Bob in HeartGold, I guess if you breed it
Yeah I was breeding for a wish vaporeon.
Got it on my Pokewalker Torchic in Heart Gold in this most recent playthrough.
I caught this and it had pokerus when I caught it, what now?
You're awesome bro
Got Pokerus and Shiny but in a SwSh encounter, you are the #1 anon
Buy a lottery ticket.
>get it in B1
>almost have a heart attack
>get it in B2 not too long after (different strain, my games didn't communicate a that point)
>th-thanks
I also got a Pokerus Fletchling in X or Y
>pink shellos in Platinum
To this day is my only full odds shiny
>start of omega ruby wonderlocke
>catch poocheyana on first route
>wonder trade it anyways
I got a useless lv 30ish graveler that evolved into golem but it wouldnt obey me
~~*effort*~~
This thread is about odds, dumbass.
Pink monke. :]
That is not 1/8192 so frick off
To be fair, they could have transferred it from an older game. They didn't Specify that they caught it in Arceus
Caught a shiny Sneasel in Platinum
Done it multiple times now. I think my funniest is my Sudowoodo from White though. I was trying to breed for Bonsly but I was moronic and forgot to give my Sudowoodo a rock incense so I realized partway through hatching this egg that I had that I wasn't getting Bonsly. I figured I'd just hatch it and release it and then try again but then it came out shiny, the one factor that could've happened for me to have kept it.
Shiny breeding is not welcome here too since you not technically [caught] it.
It's 1 in 8192 still, but OK homosexual, how's this?
In Heart Gold I caught a shiny Caterpie from Route 2, shiny Slowpoke from the Safari Zone, and a shiny Golbat in Ice Path. In Soul Silver I caught a shiny Rattata in Sprout Tower. In my next heart gold playthrough, I caught a shiny Tentacool on Route 20, and a Shiny Golduck in Mt. Silver Cave. In Platinum, I caught a shiny Bidoof on Route 205 Eterna City side and a shiny Kricketot on Route 203.
Hariyama, TWO Solrock, Swablu, Mienfoo, Parasect, Tangela, Donphan, Graveler, Chikorita (does it count? Technically x3 chance), Hoppip. I only Hunted Chokorita.
If you play a lot of older games, don't spam repels and grind post game you will find random shinies eventually. But I did play a lot I guess.
I got a shiny bagon back in emerald. Now he's stuck in my diamond as a shelgon
Lairon in Emerald
Good day sir. Shiny Yanma straight outta Route 35 here
Two hariyamas in emerald
What do i win?
Here I am.
Why yes i did catch a shiny golbat in emerald in that pointless cave that opens up after you beat the champion
I once found a shiny spinirak just after I got the ability to catch mons on a crystal rom. I found a shiny Voltorb in the rocket base in the ice Gym town too, but it killed itself ;/
Off the top of my head my random shinies are: Magikarp, Rhydon, Tentacool, Sunkern and Shuckle. So not that many considering how many hours I've sink into these games.
fricked up the first fight with this guy and missed the sound sparkles on the second try.
>Gen 5 was 12 years ago
That's not the flex you think it is, I've found 4 full-odds shinies just playing through the story over the last 24 years.
Bet you hunted for yours didn't you?
Had a shiny Stunky from Diamond, shiny Rattata from HGSS.
My sister way back when got a shiny female Piplup in Platinum without resetting even once and thought the game was glitched. Luckily she kept it.
I am here.
Shiny Ho-Oh in Heart Gold
Shiny Gastrodon in Platinum
Shiny Snover in Pearl (egg hatch)
Shiny Psyduck in Gold Version
Caught a shiny Zubat in LeafGreen in that cave that Misdreavus appears in
The only full odds shinies I've ever encountered were in Leaf Green's Safari Zone and Emerald's Battle Factory. Frick me.
>ho-oh
>lugia
>tangela
>two fricking ursaring in front of mt. silver
my vc gold save is both blessed and cursed
GSC's shiny rate isn't 1/8192, me think. Can't remember
>the original games with shiny pokemon don't have the original shiny encounter rate
Are you moronic?
Mechanics were so much different back then, zoomer.
You are moronic, okay.
It is though, ESL.
That graph didn't prove anything other than shiny rate from breeding red gyarados
>In Generation II, being Shiny is determined by a Pokémon's IVs
Eat shit zoomer
>In Generation II, being Shiny is determined by a Pokémon's IVs
Yes, and the odds of those IVs producing a shiny pokemon were what?
Was it 1/8192?
Think carefully.
I really hope you aren't serious
I'm sorry you're moronic, anon.
>In Generation II, being Shiny is determined by a Pokémon's IVs
>If a Pokémon's Speed, Defense, and Special IVs are all 10, and its Attack IV is 2, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11, 14 or 15, it will be Shiny.
Some 5th grade math:
>Each IV can be 1 of 16 possible values (between 0 and 15)
>Spd, Def, and Spec has a 1/16 chance of getting the needed Shiny number
>Atk has a 8/16 (simplifies to 1/2) chance of getting any of the needed Shiny numbers
16*16*16*2 = 8192
Are you stupid enough to think the Shiny chances for Gens 3-5 were pulled out of a hat? They're based on the exact odds of Gen 2.
jesus christ, anon
I've never seen a shiny besides gyarados and three in USUM wormholes
Red gyarados is complimentary shiny and USUM wormholes aren't 1/8192.
Back before I had to sell all my games, I did a playthru of platinum and went to the safari zone looking for, I think a croagunk to add to my team. Happened to run into a random, full odds, shiny Bibarel while I was there and caught the fricker on the fourth ball. I miss you, Pnutbutter.
Greetings
Did u transfer a shiny Stantler all the way from Gen 3 and then evolve her into Wyrdeer?
I love shiny hunting unless its something that requires loads of effort like Col or manaphy its so chill and have loads of stories behind all my finds.
Zigzagoon and zubat in emerald
Raticate, ponyta, and gyarados in fire red
Found a Shiny Boldore in White back in 2012
tentacool in saphire. but it was to late to lvl it. shame really
Shiny Gloom in Ruby, shiny Ratatta in FireRed, and shiny Graveler in Plat
I have played every mainline game and third version game since Red and never once caught a shiny that wasn't chained or shiny charm MM bred. I do not use repels. My younger brother caught a shiny Tentacruel in Silver version when we were kids. I am beyond salty about this.
I have a full odds shiny nickit with a mark. What do I win?
Caught a full-odds Pawniard in BW before I knew what shiny hunting was and I caught a Shiny Weedle in a FRLG nuzlocke recently
>shiny marill from emerald
Here are my gen 3 SRs:
>Bulbasaur
>Regis
>weather trio
>Beldum
I know it was after the shiny rate buff, but I bought my cousin Moon and a 3DS a few years ago for Christmas. He had never played Pokemon before so I was showing him how to play. Kid grabbed his starter, got some pokeballs and walked into the grass where I was gonna help him catch something. The very first wild Pokemon this fricking kid ever saw was a shiny Alolan Rattata, so I grabbed the 3DS from him and had to tutorialize him on shinies as literally the first battle info he ever got. Little dude traded it to me as thanks for the game and console.
Cute
I call bullshit. How did you catch it in a luxury ball? The earliest you can get them is on route 2, and that Rattata was caugt on route 1.
First thing I did was set him up with a bunch of items by trading his starter back and forth, got him one of each ball except beast and master ball
How did you trade the starter without catching another pokemon first? Not to mention you can't just trade the moment after you get the starter.
I'm probably misremembering then, but he did find that Rattata pretty much instantly
Yeah it doesn't really matter, but congrats on setting him up for balltism from the start, it is the best way to play.
Based. Caught a shiny Alolan Raticate myself while grinding in the Poni Gauntlet - the colour looks nice on it.
Poliwag in Gold
Zubat in Ruby
Magneton & Pidgey in LeafGreen
Hoothoot in Pearl
Nidorina in SoulSilver
Wingul & Numel in OmegaRuby
My 6 dastardly individuals
Sapphire cartridge 14 years ago: shiny voltorb, then Shiny Electrode, then my shillmon on Pokémon Home!
I have only encountered two shinies. One was a shiny geodude in HeartGold, which I killed (I didn't know what shinies were then)
The other one was a shiny magikarp during an Emerald nuzlocke, I got it while fishing for a feebas
>Kricketune in Diamond
>Oddish in Ruby
>Weedle in SoulSilver
>Mienfoo in White
>Seaking in Silver
I think those are all my 1/8192.
I used the shiny charm. cry about it gays
I caught a shiny trevenant at full odds in XY. It is a shame that this mon is absolute dogshit since its shiny is actually extremely cool
Despite what IGN may tell you, full odds XY isn't 1/8192
If you caught it in the Friend Safari the odds were actually more around 1/800
I found a shiny zubat and a geodude, pretty sure I accidentally killed both. Nowadays I have a lot that I’ve bred. But anything is better than being an inject sissy
cubone and graveller, both in hg last november. reporting in sergeant
>caught a Shiny Growlithe in Crystal
>caught a Shiny Pidgey in FireRed
>subsequently catch a Shiny Snorlax in FireRed
After that, my luck for shiny pokemon of that rarity tapered out.
>Lucked into Cute Charm exploit without knowing about it in Platinum
What do I win?
>Lucked into Cute Charm exploit without knowing about it in Platinum
reap the rewards before Game Freak shuts it down.
Giratina and Litwick, one soft reset for and one random
Caught 2 in Platinum, completely by chance.
I've caught many at this point. Very first was a shiny larvitar in Silver.
Then it's as follows:
>Weedle in Gold
>Latias in Sapphire
Nothing in emerald technically because I bred for a Metagross
>Ghastly in FireRed
>Dratini in FireRed
>Electabuzz in FireRed
>Lapras in SoulSilver
>Geodude in Diamond
>Gible in Diamond
Shiny hunted a lot in Platinum but pretty sure I got my Ponyta there by chance. Might be misremembering
And the rest i couldn't tell you if they were actual full odds. I got a bunch in later games but usually had charms or something
Cyndaquil in Silver
Wingull in Emerald
Solrock and Dustox in Platinum
Cyndaquil and Mareep in HeartGold
Woobat, Purrloin, Audino, and Venipede in White 2 (still have yet to obtain Shiny Charm in that file)
shiny electrike in sapphire here, my ID checks out
Roggenrola in White
Giratina in Platinum
Rattata and Donphan in Silver
Gloom in Soul Silver
Natu, Fire Red... or Leaf Green, currently in Alpha Sapphire.
hello, i've got several, I'm fond of my shiny treecko that I found in 27 soft resets
Victor?
I'm not Victor.
I think my only 2 other 1/8192 odds encounters were both from the same game, Black 2.
Deerling and Sawk. Haven't had much luck with full odds shinies despite playing pokemons for 1000s of hours. I like my treecko more than my spontaneous random encountered shinies.
What is the best way to hunt for a shiny trapinch in gen 3
I'm gonna bet random encountering in the desert. Sure, you'll run into other pokemon, but it beats the hell out of spending all that time breeding and hatching eggs
One in emerald, it was a FRICKING wurmple, reporting in for autism duty
i found a shiny clamperl in omega ruby back in 2015 iirc
>implying owls are shiny
I have in a romhack
I've caught literally dozens of of Full odds shiny Pokemon.
Pokerus is where the real bragging rights are
I've gotten that in every generation but 4.
I've got three to my name - a Trapinch in Sapphire, a Fearow in Platinum, and a Psyduck in SoulSilver.
The Trapinch was a delight because it was Jolly, so once I learned about EVs and could use the stat-reducing berries to reset them in Platinum I was able to train it to be a respectably capable Flygon. Having a legit shiny on my team made me feel so cool.
I don't think any of them still exist because batteries are finite, but I've caught a few 1/8192s in my time.
When I was a kid I found a shiny zubat in a cave, but didn't have flash, and got "stuck" in there, so I had to reset the game. I also saw a shiny ekans on the same game but KO'ed it
>tfw stupid child
I've also found full odds shiny poochyena in emerald, full odds vulpix in AS, full odds solosis in an emulator, and I think I found a shiny zigzagoon but I'm not 100% certain. That would have been between roughly 2001-2003ish and 2016-2017.
6 at best.
I just finished PLE and am disgusted at how easy shinies are to find.
Without exageration, in nearly 24 hour period to the minute (including sleeping/working) I found a shiny:
- Graveller
- Electabuzz
- Stantler
- Kricketot
- Dustox
- Staravia
- Golbat
- Ursaring
Yes, EIGHT shinies in a 24 hour period.
I literally just found a shint tentacool, togetic and hisuan qwilfish in one massive mass outbreak
Hopefully they don't allow you to transfer them outside of PLA, but I know they will
and just now a shiny buneary
this is bullshit
>Shiny Spinda and Oddish in Sapphire
>Shiny Staravia in Platinum
What do I win?
first shiny i ever encountered was a sigilyph. i didnt even recognize it as a shiny at first and knocked it out. now i know. However i later found another shiny in some other game and i caught it.
first and last full odds shiny was from HG when I was a kid
Ledyba and Krabby as random encounters as a young boy, Darkrai last year while playing Isaac, under 200 resets >:D
What are the predictions for the shiny hunting method in SV?
egg hatching and something that marginally ups shiny rates for wilds.
decided to finish my dream team playthrough after about 2 years of my save file sitting in front of volkner with 6/6 shiny pokemon caught.
hi to anyone who saw my hunts in 2019 shw threads
I've only ever caught seen 2 shines, a shiny Yanma in PLA a few weeks ago, then a shiny Kakuna 2 days later in SoulSilver. Although there's a good chance I saw a shiny as a kid and just didn't know.
Don't know how many I've caught/seen in the past games, but playing Sun right now I've caught/seen 100.
Yeah but not looking for them on purpose, that's for sure. Shiny hunting is too autistic, even for me.
>Starly in Platinum
>Whismur in Emerald
>Luvdisc in X and Y
>Azelf in ORAS
Just pure luck.
When I was a kid, I was hosting a slumber party for my birthday. One of my friends hadn’t gotten the chance to see HGSS yet, so I decided to restart my game to show him what it was like. Shit you not, got a shiny Totodile without even trying. Still have his today, rotting away in HOME
wild machop in pearl in the first gym city cave/mine
Looking for shiny hoothoot so I can have a shiny noctowl like Ash, but instead I got this rat
I've never caught a shiny in a main series Pokemon game and I've played them all. Legit. Other than in-game hand outs (see -> red Gyarados) or wi-fi events, I've only ever had one shiny from breeding as well and it was a fricking Chimecho. Gained a lot through trading, plenty from Pokemon GO, but never, not even once in all these years have I seen a shiny in the wild. Anyone else in the same boat?
i have a good amount of them but most recent is a gen 5 clefairy. about
to go for a yanma in platinum great marsh
Reporting.
>first shiny I saw was a shiny Weedle in Firered.

Recently caught a shiny Octillary in BDSP, was cool. Just trying to get some heart scales and it showed up.
shiny victini in gen v 😀
Haven't hunted in a while, but this dude is one of my favorites.
Not 1 in 8k, but I got a full odds shiny crabrawler during my winning hardcore nuzlocke of ultra moon.
Felt awesome
?t=1664
A lot of my gen 3 and 4 Mons were pure 1/8192!
Poochyena in the first few minutes of Emerald
Sentret on I believe 3 Island in Leaf Green
Starly in Diamond
Roselia in Platinum
Metapod in Heart Gold (it almost died of poison, but I caught it in a heavy ball!)
Grimer in Soul Silver
A Wingull in Diamond was my first.
Accidental Horsea in FRLG in like 2009
Accidental Spinarak in Crystal last month
Hunted Marill in Ruby last year
Caught a Hoppip in Heartgold. Was very disappointing for my first time shiny.
Does Pokeradar count?
