Open world Digimon game when?
Open world would be great but they should do a good trpg (survive fights were annoying). Like an 02 style game where you pick missions at the school lab and go to the DW to defeat the emperor.
When villains get defeated they scanned them with the D-vice or whatever it's called, which returned all the areas that they had absorbed (plot device which they used to power up/set free the big bad, at the end of the show most of the digital world had been absorbed and fed to the big bad) to their former place and state.
It won't be good until they make it true 3d like the Monster Hunter franchise. I disliked Next Order's graphics, if the next open world looks like that I'd rather them not doing it at all.
The ps1 games didn't try to look like anime they just recreated the monsters like actual beasts with 3d models, I want that again up to PS4 standards

Bandai doesn't own the MMOs, they simply sold a liscense to MoveGames. Every Digimon game Bandai personally owns has been ported over to english speaking territories.
A lot of Digimon games never left Japan. The Ryo games, Lost Evolution and Super Xros Wars, Decode, Adventure PSP, etc.

Get the BE, it's better and the old chips are compatible with it. You can also get chips for other franchises like Ultraman or Tokyo Revengers
