eh, I've found someone play it on twitch and doesn't look as fun as I remembered it. I may give it a try if it runs without any issues on the steam deck but I've got enough games to play and replay for a while anyway.
I get the appeal but it feels like a game that's meant more for edgy teenagers than anything. Or maybe I'm just misremembering everything about it.
i played it in high school when it first came out so i get what you mean... i went back to play it recently and it really isn't the same as i remembered.

I don't recall anything edgy about it (besides that mock up Nazi rally) . it was more like dumbed down 80's frat boy movie themed coupled with 90's high school awkwardness.
The quests I remember were all pretty childish sort of. Doesn't make it a bad game, just not something I'd be interested in playing right now. But who knows. If they remake it at some point, I may also try it again.
you might search for silentpatch for this game since it fixes the random crashes to the game on the steam version

it does sadly suffer from samey-ness. I partially blame having to go to the class mini-games for that.

Theres a lot of cut content where he was, theres a cut mission that was only ever shown in one of the trailers that never made it into the game

not sure what it is about it.. i've always wanted a game like this and it's a shame there aren't anymore like it. the fact that you can go into the girls dorms and go into the showers is great.

Great soundtrack, story and sidequest, I used be be mad that it didn't get a sequel but judging from the recent political climate it's better that way
A real shame Rockstart cuckedout of making Bully 2. One of the few cases when making the MC female would be a interesting choice.

They didn't. An artist drew their Bully OC, some gay photoshopped a BULLY II onto the image, and for some reason everyone actually believed it was legitimate sequel concept art.
It's absolutely absurd that gays here actually believed that shit. Just look at the shit Jimmy does. Over half of it could never EVER work with a female protagonist.

The best game to ever be set in school, with an awesome soundtrack, a great sense of humor, and the best melee combat in any rockstar game
Great game with an an awkward story that doesn't really go anywhere and there's something strange about the controls -- if you're moving the camera while walking around then Jimmy starts walking in the wrong direction. That can cause problems while getting chased occasionally.

I played it again recently, and it doesn't hold up. The combat is bare minimum, and the missions are snoozefests that repeat themselves; it's just that you like the cutscenes between them. I'm too old to play pretend and walk around campus role-playing, which seems to be the only argument for it.
I like it. Im playing through now before re4 comes out and im having a pretty comfy time.

Legitimately my favorite Rockstar game. I always get worried it's just nostalgia and then replay it every few years and I still like it.
It's pretty overrared by it's niche. Game is repetitive as hell and has nintendo game tier "difficulty" in that it's so easy a child could play it.
Good music though.

I rewatched it as a movie two weeks ago and realized it was a Top 5 video game story I've encountered, unbelievably kino.
What year is bully supposed to be set in? It's allegedly in the 2000s but there's no cellphones and everything feels like the late 80s/early 90s

These people constantly harrass and Bully students for any microtransgretion, use the wrong pronoun and they will make your life a living hell, they don't fight directly but they will gaslight and send a mob after you
You still have the jocks who are rivals with thr SJ club do to their misogyny and locker room talk
The Preps are still here but much different than before. Yes they are rich but they flaunt it much more than the old club. Given how high end Fashion in the 2020s is all about wearing the most tacky and gaudy shit as possible. They make the old preps look like a bunch of baby boomers. They rival the soundclouders cause they get annoyed at them because they are always emulating some hobo asking for handouts...except this time it's them handing out mixtapes
Greasers are replaced by the SoundCloud rappers. Their poor as hell but spent all their cash on tattoos and wacky hair styles instead of greasers caring about bikes.

Nah remove the soundcloud add in the nerds, mix the preps and the sj club since ive never seen a working class sjw, if goths are still a thing add them in as well.
The game itself kinda sucks. Playing it is extremely dull, but it's interesting nonetheless.

I wish there were a special faction. The leader and lieutenant could just be a couple of psychotic that deep down care about their guys but not be sentimental about it. Could've been where Gary ended up at the end of the game. Loved being able to ride the go-kart all over the map after doing the races.
