Oracle of Ages deserves a 3D remake, it feels like a 3D game limited to 2D because of the console it's stuck on.

Oracle of Ages deserves a 3D remake, it feels like a 3D game limited to 2D because of the console it's stuck on.
But 2D is more fun. No worse curse for a 2D game than being adapted to 3D. Specially when it comes to a game where platforming and combat are important.
And when the puzzles boil down to pushing blocks and stepping on pressure plates.
OoA in 3D is just OoT/MM.
It has a lot of unique elements that are unfortunately paired down by the old hardware. If it even were just OoT/MM in 2D, it's reason enough to bring it up into 3D and make it fully realized finally.
Imagine an underwater Zora city in 3D.
Imagine the poisonous smog being navigatable with the mermaid tail in 3D.

Or, you could, go to the water temple in oot and you get the experience of walking on water or talking to a big Zora person just fine. I hear MM has masks. Doesn't everyone just love the water temple btw? It's not "constrained" by hardware, the hardware was taken into account and results into a difference experience-so does the choice of making a game 2D/3D, as it affects gameplay.
3D Zeldas are bloated, while the 2D ones are more fun to play.
I would rather be shot in the head than live to see a 3D remake of either game.

The Link’s Awakening remake is fantastic and full of soul.
its got a fantastic arrangement of the old music. ill give them that for sure.
more studios should take notes on that in particular. chamber orchestration is more in line with /vr/ vidya OSTs anyways, with their limited voices and timbres.
but on the flipside, for ex, no one needs to hear megaman 3s title screen played by the london symphony orchestra. or whatever. because its simply not a good idea. youre painting with way too many colors. youd be better served taking the themes of MM3 and extrapolating on that yourself. at least then it would be novel, and not just a stylistically poor replacement
what they did to the original gfx in the switch remake is a lot like the latter.
the originals sprites were fantastic. the game wouldve been much better served visually imo if they had figured out a way to keep as much of that as possible. it wouldve been better off if they took almost the exact sprites, and just added more resolution to it, and added more frames of animation. they didnt do that. they just went off in a completely different direction, and it looks like playdough. its awful. like wind waker, but suck instead of good.

this makes me sad, I tend to think when a game gets remade then it should get the proper reimagined treatment, which is to take what they have available and then present it better with superior hardware technology.
for Link's Awakening I mentioned to an anon before that as more nightmares are defeated that the world should become more surreal and darker, impacting the dream world with the anticipation of ugly truths and dangers.

as an aside, looking at artwork for Zelda 1 & Zelda 2 AoL, I feel like the hardware of today could probably adapt that style into 3D.
I recall the Ultimate Spiderman game, and the Naruto fighting game series had a rather impressive comic book style, and that was back on 6th generation console hardware.
