I understand a lot of the hate for bots but I don't see the point in centering all your enjoyment on things that only affect an MMOs economy, I don't derive all my fun from making gp or skipping the grind in a game about grind. Every node is filled with bots, youll see bots running everywhere, stay in a bank and its just constant bots but its thenone place you might see a real player sometimes.
Easy to tell bot accounts, they dont even bother trying to look legit just bfh47d8fb48sh and basic bob with a staff everywhere same exact nothing clone.
Oh yeah, because these people have multiple bots running 24/7 they have membership for all of it. Jagex barely touches f2p and member bans are almost non existent, bot farmers are giving them more money than you anyways.
I tested about 15 worlds 2 or 3 diifferent times a day for 5 days.
Every single world was like this, cant mine any iron, I can only imagine how much worse it is once youre somewhere with something valuable.
Last time I played was 2005 this fricking garbage is not Runescape its soulless, theres zero chat, just bots and almost 20 years of wow tier "skip the actual game" bullshit to powerlevel bots. Youre given full iron armour and weapons as soon as you spawn in lumby ffs, some new npc. Obviously I dropped it all immediately but shortly after I confirmed the bot issue.

Take your time with maxing, a lot of cool skilling shit is coming out with the Zeah expansion and Sailing coming out would make rushing a Max cape pointless.

From a efficiency standpoin (xp and gp wise), no.
But once you're near maxed you kinda end up looking like a noob if your hiscores look lacklustre. The move is to do the boss variant until you get bored (for me I can stomach like 60kc) and then finish off the task via the regular mobs using an Expeditious bracelet. The boss kc numbers and xp will add up over time.
i wish there was just a single 'dragon' task, so i could go kill vorkath, even though muspah is much better money
dks for dag tasks are good and kinda quick, but just have to grind 83 runecraft for elite diary for noted bones then it'll be super worth

a cool quirk about vorkath is that he counts for not just blue dragon tasks, but also zombie tasks, so when you start doing turael skip slayer you end up with a ton of potential vorkath tasks. the bear/skele/spider tasks also count the wildy bosses
I was trying to level mining and smithing to gear my character homosexual. SE of Varrock was always attended to by a minimum of 4 bots in shifts. No way I was going to slowly walk all over the map checking to confirm what I already know-even places not worth going to are infested by bots. I never even got to the point where making money or trading mattered because the game was soo infested you cant even get to level 20 in a skill.

I'm excited for leagues, I've seen it a bunch before but I need to become more acquainted with OSRS so I understand what I want to run after when Leagues drops
I don't want to be lost trying to figure out bossing or raids when it eventually drops, or what regions of the game I'd want to unlock, only to find I locked myself out of something valuable
Honestly it may be a good idea to do raids in Leagues so I give myself practice for the real ones when I eventually get there to be honest
I hear ToA is pretty approachable but I know the invocation system can make it really hard
if you want to do expert raids I believe the strategy is to just throw the time limit ones on and then knowing how to speedrun the fights for efficiency
Hopefully we can get ourselves solid gear from them since we can't just GE everything

I'm getting into it as a 23y/o and I'm having a blast. I'd recommend it with a friend if you can, group ironmanning is a ton of fun because getting things you want is always a trial in some shape or form, and its all about how you approach it

Sandcrabs definitely are nice though. Its nice to relax and watch something while grinding combat skills. I didn't have any ranged levels earlier but I was able to shoot up to 45 ranged and 40 defense after just a few hours, and now I can go get some green dhide
I should figure out the required equipment and levels for barrows runs, I've been wanting to do those for the runes and gear
Im only using an adamant 2h because I found it by grinding lava dragons for a rune axe

You can report and ignore the bot spammers or just turn off public chat. Merch clans could also manipulate the pre-GE market but you refuse to acknowledge that.
It also doesn't account for botting at all, or that people buying in bulk would just use marketplace forums, which is just the GE but slower.

Tribidding and prayer flicking are cancerous. Not to say you cant have them but they could easily solve this by doing an enrage system that RS3 does at quite a few bosses where to do higher and higher enrages more skill and knowledge of the game is required, alongside more use of the games systems

I did group ironman with some friends, all of whom are experienced players while I know nothing about the game.
I still know nothing about the game, but I found that seeing my woodcutting xp slowly increase was satisfying, so now I have 99 woodcutting and no other skill above ~50.
I am done with the game because everything except woodcutting seems quite shit.
Also I got a beaver at level 76 and he has been a loyal companion.
I just started playing again. getting 70 in combat skills (just magic to go at 61), trying to get angler set from fishing trawler and doing some early quests for mining levels. at some point I want to go for fire cape but I'm intimidated by it
Fire cape is much easier than it seems, especially with all the new equipment released in the game. Black d hide and a blowpipe are enough at 70 ranged but anything stronger is obviously better. There's a site online that lets you practice Jad prayer switching as well you could spend some time with.
I did fire cape on my ironman after not touching the game or touching the minigame for 10-15 years and it was the most ass sweating shit ever since beating isshin for the first time. It ended up taking like 4 hours because I fricked up and waited for natural regen like 2 times cause I couldn't tag the healers in time. If I died there I would've probably just not gotten it until like 500 hrs later when I got bowfa+full crystal because I hate that place so much.
the new quest opens up access to a trident-lite that should rip through barrows and is probably your best option for snake.
barrows is very easy but it's important to set yourself up for efficient runs e.g. medium combat tasks to prevent prayer drain, boosting magic for a house portal to barrows, morty hard for extra runes.
maybe look in to doing vorkath on a slayer task, 50 kills guarantees a nice upgraded assembler
I'd agree but the problem is that quest's requirements are super demanding, I'm only around 50 in my combat skills and 61 in magic at the moment and I haven't even started slayer yet
the slayer and smithing reqs look daunting but they're both critical to any iron account, might as well get to work. buying ore at blast furnace and using the bars at giant's foundry should at least break-even in gp

Not only does it get you to bossing quicker they have mechanics that require you to use abilities to stop/mitigate or ones that you can use to more optimally kill them with. It also has Enrage for some bosses which allows players to up the difficulty more and more every kill to challenge themselves.
They are also lessening switchscape as it is pretty cancerous

Easy to tell bot accounts, they dont even bother trying to look legit just bfh47d8fb48sh and basic bob with a staff everywhere same exact nothing clone.
Oh yeah, because these people have multiple bots running 24/7 they have membership for all of it. Jagex barely touches f2p and member bans are almost non existent, bot farmers are giving them more money than you anyways.
I tested about 15 worlds 2 or 3 diifferent times a day for 5 days.
Every single world was like this, cant mine any iron, I can only imagine how much worse it is once youre somewhere with something valuable.

From a efficiency standpoin (xp and gp wise), no.
But once you're near maxed you kinda end up looking like a noob if your hiscores look lacklustre. The move is to do the boss variant until you get bored (for me I can stomach like 60kc) and then finish off the task via the regular mobs using an Expeditious bracelet. The boss kc numbers and xp will add up over time.

a cool quirk about vorkath is that he counts for not just blue dragon tasks, but also zombie tasks, so when you start doing turael skip slayer you end up with a ton of potential vorkath tasks. the bear/skele/spider tasks also count the wildy bosses

No way I was going to slowly walk all over the map checking to confirm what I already know-even places not worth going to are infested by bots. Honestly it may be a good idea to do raids in Leagues so I give myself practice for the real ones when I eventually get there to be honest
Raids 1/2 are pretty easy so you should get the hang of em pretty fast. Haven't done 3 yet so I dunno about that one
I hear ToA is pretty approachable but I know the invocation system can make it really hard
if you want to do expert raids I believe the strategy is to just throw the time limit ones on and then knowing how to speedrun the fights for efficiency

Sandcrabs definitely are nice though. Its nice to relax and watch something while grinding combat skills. I didn't have any ranged levels earlier but I was able to shoot up to 45 ranged and 40 defense after just a few hours, and now I can go get some green dhide
I should figure out the required equipment and levels for barrows runs, I've been wanting to do those for the runes and gear
adamant 2h at sand crabs isn't efficient, its the lazyscape way (lazyscape is based and i wish rc had a lazyscape method)
Im only using an adamant 2h because I found it by grinding lava dragons for a rune axe

ironman for a new player is a pretty miserable experience once the early levels stop flying and you start getting into the 40 hour per level grinds

Tribidding and prayer flicking are cancerous. Not to say you cant have them but they could easily solve this by doing an enrage system that RS3 does at quite a few bosses where to do higher and higher enrages more skill and knowledge of the game is required, alongside more use of the games systems
They designed themselves into a corner with prayer and now their only recourse is to make you constantly juggle it or just have bosses ignore overheads altogether. The second option feels bad so they opt for the first.

I did group ironman with some friends, all of whom are experienced players while I know nothing about the game.
I still know nothing about the game, but I found that seeing my woodcutting xp slowly increase was satisfying, so now I have 99 woodcutting and no other skill above ~50.
I am done with the game because everything except woodcutting seems quite shit.
Also I got a beaver at level 76 and he has been a loyal companion.
I just started playing again. getting 70 in combat skills (just magic to go at 61), trying to get angler set from fishing trawler and doing some early quests for mining levels. at some point I want to go for fire cape but I'm intimidated by it
Fire cape is much easier than it seems, especially with all the new equipment released in the game. Black d hide and a blowpipe are enough at 70 ranged but anything stronger is obviously better. There's a site online that lets you practice Jad prayer switching as well you could spend some time with.
dont bother with the online simulators, you can literally go practice fight jad/2jad/3jad at fight caves and earn a bit of coin for doing so

I did fire cape on my ironman after not touching the game or touching the minigame for 10-15 years and it was the most ass sweating shit ever since beating isshin for the first time. It ended up taking like 4 hours because I fricked up and waited for natural regen like 2 times cause I couldn't tag the healers in time. If I died there I would've probably just not gotten it until like 500 hrs later when I got bowfa+full crystal because I hate that place so much.
What bosses or equipment should I look at working on as an Ironman soon? I want to get into Barrows runs or Zulrah but I don't know what I need
the new quest opens up access to a trident-lite that should rip through barrows and is probably your best option for snake.
barrows is very easy but it's important to set yourself up for efficient runs e.g. medium combat tasks to prevent prayer drain, boosting magic for a house portal to barrows, morty hard for extra runes.
maybe look in to doing vorkath on a slayer task, 50 kills guarantees a nice upgraded assembler
I'd agree but the problem is that quest's requirements are super demanding, I'm only around 50 in my combat skills and 61 in magic at the moment and I haven't even started slayer yet
the slayer and smithing reqs look daunting but they're both critical to any iron account, might as well get to work. buying ore at blast furnace and using the bars at giant's foundry should at least break-even in gp

The run energy system is outdated and antifun. Literally makes me stop playing at times as i am sick of having to try and use graceful as much as i can and ensure i always have stam pots with me
They should just go the rs3 route of run energy system

I mean ToA's bosses are pretty sick and they have plenty of unique mechanics of their own, Zebak and Baba are fun and the final phase of Elidinis is great

Not only does it get you to bossing quicker they have mechanics that require you to use abilities to stop/mitigate or ones that you can use to more optimally kill them with. It also has Enrage for some bosses which allows players to up the difficulty more and more every kill to challenge themselves.
They are also lessening switchscape as it is pretty cancerous
clicking competently and mastering tile based movement is more fun than budget asiatic mmo gameplay

I lost interest hard after maxing, and they move at a glacial rate in terms of releasing content.
I dislocated my knee a ~6 months ago, and while I was recovering, I blackjacked thieving up to 99. I haven't played at all since then, not sure why I decided that was a good use of my time tbh.
And now whenever you go back to the game you'll just associate it with bad times. Something similar made me quit.
Seems likely, it's definitely one of the reasons I've put off playing again.
