Drakengard 2 has an end where the bad guys are beaten with 0 explanation via a light floating into Manah's womb and a combat system based around using characters v specific enemies but one of said characters is missing for 90% of the game on every playthrough and another dies off halfway through.

This game is overhyped because “le bad guy wins” even though he most definitely doesn’t in the end.
Ocarina of Time did the same thing better. When Ganondorf wins, the story doesn't grind to a fricking halt and the majority of the cast doesn't become irrelevant either.
FF2 did the same thing better in its own series. The Emperor does more damage than Kefka with more justification then revives himself in 2 seperate levels of reality to do it again.
The difference being Kefka has actual personality, while the Emperor was just a mary sue.

the moveset genuinely does have large mechanical complexity with extreme usefulness, next to no weapons can be called filler because they all have unique usefulnesses and tricks that will help you be stronger
Touhou 6-8 are extremely good games. Not a fan of the newer games, but 18 was pretty fun. If you haven't tried playing Touhou, I'd recommend people try 7 or 8, they're really good games, and not that difficult on normal mode. 6 is my favorite, but it doesn't have a hitbox marker, so it might filter people hard if they try it first.

This is pretty accurate. Especially God Hand, which is a really shit game, and almsot everyone that gets deceived into trying it regrets it. Most boomers like me have probably played MGS2, but anyone younger than 30 is probably pretending, and thinking its some epic deep game because of youtube videos. I'd consider replacing MGS2 with Dragon's Dogma here, but I think there are actually so many zoomies that have never actually played MGS2 that it might deserve that spot. Majora's Mask is also a shit sequel that people like to pretend is great, despite them never playing it.

Fake fan detected when Drakengard 1 writing was a absolute unfinished mess and Drakengard 3 writing is just shitty sexual joke after joke because it's a terrible commentary on idol culture.
There's nothing wrong doing a commentary on something. After all, MGS1 to MGS3 had commentary on war and technology but were still great games.
But Drakengard 3 version of commentary is poorly done to the point it's just shit because it fails to do comment on the issues of idol culture since the game rather just do unfunny jokes repeatedly.
DG3 being irredeemable trash notwithstanding, 2's writing is a cross between a budget animay and "my first CRPG session" writing. There's a moment around chapter 4 where the plot just fizzles out and you're told to help some random merchants with a random bandit problem. It's like an incompetent GM that forgot what he was doing and has to make things up on the spot.
You can't really blame people for not wanting to play the first Drakengard thoughie, I'm glad I did but the ground battles were literally mind numbing.

It also has a bunch of homages to all sorts of science fiction. There's a bar with some dialogue that copies the exact dialogue in the bar scene in Akira.

You're reaching hard. You know exactly what I meant by that comparison. STALKER modders add some story elements as a way to justify their fetch quests but no one plays these mods FOR the story. In Bethesda story mods, the story itself is the main content people are after.
These Russia soup mods with billions of different guns and dozens of variants of canned pork are exactly what I'm talking about. Having more guns and tools to kill people or having different brands of water bottles that quench your thirst differently or more artifact slots don't make STALKER more RPG-like. It's simply adding to the milisim/survival elements.
I've never once been in a situation where I'm tasked with blowing up a reactor by turning a bunch of pressure valves. But actually there's a crack in the reactor and I have this plastic explosive that fits snuggly and I can just use that instead of running around catwalks, turning valves.
Stuff like this doesn't happen in STALKER or STALKER mods because people don't really seek out RPG/immersivesim elements in a STALKER games. That's not the appeal. There might be some mods that do this but I've played a bunch and have yet to see one.

the storylines are the central focus of op-2, 90% of what you do in the game is in service of advancing one of many storylines to unlock further quests, and there are hundreds of hours of actual story content with voice acting, scripted sequences and encounters, unique quest items, new NPCs, puzzles, secrets, and tons of dialogue
several other stalker modpacks are focused almost entirely on presenting new storylines like NS or goldsphere
again I'm not arguing about the state of the stalker base games and their limited scope, just pointing out your total ignorance to what the stalker modding community has been doing and expanding upon since over 10 years ago. enderal is basically the only mod for a bethesda game that beats something like op-2 in terms of scope and variety

That's sorta my point. STALKER doesn't really compete with Skyrim/Fallout, they have different niches with a few surface level intersection.
Having complex quests like an RPG or having to solve environmental/combat puzzles is not the reason why people like STALKER. People like STALKER because you're dumped into a big map with a shitty shotgun and your goal is to work your way up from constantly getting domed by petty bandits to blasting mutants in unexplored labs. There's a great sense of progression there but obviously it's a different niche.

Drakengard 2 has an end where the bad guys are beaten with 0 explanation via a light floating into Manah's womb and a combat system based around using characters v specific enemies but one of said characters is missing for 90% of the game on every playthrough and another dies off halfway through.

FF2 did the same thing better in its own series. The Emperor does more damage than Kefka with more justification then revives himself in 2 seperate levels of reality to do it again.

the moveset genuinely does have large mechanical complexity with extreme usefulness, next to no weapons can be called filler because they all have unique usefulnesses and tricks that will help you be stronger
Touhou 6-8 are extremely good games. Not a fan of the newer games, but 18 was pretty fun. If you haven't tried playing Touhou, I'd recommend people try 7 or 8, they're really good games, and not that difficult on normal mode. 6 is my favorite, but it doesn't have a hitbox marker, so it might filter people hard if they try it first.
This is pretty accurate. Especially God Hand, which is a really shit game, and almsot everyone that gets deceived into trying it regrets it. Most boomers like me have probably played MGS2, but anyone younger than 30 is probably pretending, and thinking its some epic deep game because of youtube videos. I'd consider replacing MGS2 with Dragon's Dogma here, but I think there are actually so many zoomies that have never actually played MGS2 that it might deserve that spot. Majora's Mask is also a shit sequel that people like to pretend is great, despite them never playing it.

MGS2 is only important for the ending aging like fine wine, fission mailed, and the prequel to Raiden's real story in Revegenance and MGS4.

DG3 being irredeemable trash notwithstanding, 2's writing is a cross between a budget animay and "my first CRPG session" writing. There's a moment around chapter 4 where the plot just fizzles out and you're told to help some random merchants with a random bandit problem. It's like an incompetent GM that forgot what he was doing and has to make things up on the spot.

These Russia soup mods with billions of different guns and dozens of variants of canned pork are exactly what I'm talking about. Having more guns and tools to kill people or having different brands of water bottles that quench your thirst differently or more artifact slots don't make STALKER more RPG-like. It's simply adding to the milisim/survival elements.
I've never once been in a situation where I'm tasked with blowing up a reactor by turning a bunch of pressure valves. But actually there's a crack in the reactor and I have this plastic explosive that fits snuggly and I can just use that instead of running around catwalks, turning valves.
Stuff like this doesn't happen in STALKER or STALKER mods because people don't really seek out RPG/immersivesim elements in a STALKER games. That's not the appeal. There might be some mods that do this but I've played a bunch and have yet to see one.
the storylines are the central focus of op-2, 90% of what you do in the game is in service of advancing one of many storylines to unlock further quests, and there are hundreds of hours of actual story content with voice acting, scripted sequences and encounters, unique quest items, new NPCs, puzzles, secrets, and tons of dialogue
several other stalker modpacks are focused almost entirely on presenting new storylines like NS or goldsphere

That's sorta my point. STALKER doesn't really compete with Skyrim/Fallout, they have different niches with a few surface level intersection.
Having complex quests like an RPG or having to solve environmental/combat puzzles is not the reason why people like STALKER. People like STALKER because you're dumped into a big map with a shitty shotgun and your goal is to work your way up from constantly getting domed by petty bandits to blasting mutants in unexplored labs. There's a great sense of progression there but obviously it's a different niche.
