That's what you get for romancing the cripple. Don't worry, it'll take the elf spawn a mere 50 years to grow up.

Elves are fully grown after about 20 years, they just need 80 years to stop having memories of past lives, learn important parts of elf culture blah blah blah... you need to remember the Bhaalspawn is 20 regardless of his race.

By your logic, an immortal being born from the mating_press of two immortals is permanently a zygote.

It absolutely does, you are making the claim an elf takes several decades to become an adult due to their centuries-long lifespan, which means your logic is that lifespan influences growth time without an uppser-limit. Looking at just about any animal in the world proves this wrong.

but longer lived animals do take longer to reach full growth in the real world.

Not to mention dragons in D&D, one of which is a Bhaalspawn in The Five. Bioware just didn't care much.

What the frick are you talking about?
A cat reaches adulthood in about three years or so while a human needs at least 16-20 years, it absolutely works that way in the real world.

                Then there's the Greenland shark
                >The Greenland shark has the longest known lifespan of all vertebrate species, estimated to be between 250 and 500 years;[3] it is among the largest extant species of shark. It reaches sexual maturity at about 150 years of age and pups are born alive after an estimated gestation period of 8–18 years.

I'm just going to end this debate.
It takes 20 years for an elf to be FULLY grown.
It takes an average of 500 years before an elf feels compelled to return to heaven.

what about dwarves? what about dragons? it's just inconsistent, even the lore around elves changes at will.

Come to think of it, why didn't Aerie just cast Regenerate on her wings?

oh its this subject again. apparently its same thing as Khalids death - at some point harm is irreversible or other moronic stuff. you can bring from death but you cant repair wings

At least BG2 had relationship progression after the sex, which most RPGs don't do. Let alone have kids.

if i can have a kid i should be able to drop it at dumpster too

    Quick Explanation of Elven lifespan
    >elves are biologically immortal
    >they never age past their prime
    >when elves reach their "old age" what happens is they remember elf heaven
    >an elf that remembers elf heaven goes on a journey back to elf heaven
    >upon reaching elf heaven their soul becomes ready to be reincarnated into a new elf
    >there are a finite number of elven souls
    >this means an elf has to die before a new elf can be born

How elven Gorion's Ward breaks this
    >Gorion's Ward has a divine soul instead of an elf soul
    >this means they have no memories of elf heaven and thus can never reach "old age"
    >any children of Gorion's ward also have divine souls

Basically, the normal limitation on elven fertility is bypassed and the way elves die of "old age" is also bypassed. The result is that Aerie gets knocked up just as easily as if she were a human and her children will never die of old age. In all likelihood, she's going to end up birthing dozens of immortal children.

It should also be noted that elves can resist going to "elf heaven" as easily as humans can resist death of old age.
