Splitting hairs between "intentionally gives themselves to Chaos" and "coerced or corrupted into service." The latter happens all the time. Repentia and Mortifiers are cowards impressed as punishment, but traitors are rarely addressed.

I’ve always found Sisters of Silence. Stupid. Marines and Sororitas are fine, trillions of humans yeah you can afford to just recruit men or women, but blanks are already exceedingly rare, more rare than psykers, and to add to it you’ll only recruit a single sex, and women at that?

Sisters of Battle are wildly unpredictable. If SM are surgeons knife and IG the slow hammer, SoBs area axes swung wildly by a berserker.

This also depends on the Order but we all know they're just Our Matyred Lady.

    >>Out of the hundreds of thousands of Sisters of Battle only like 2 have turned to Chaos
    >Should the Emperor have made Space Marines women instead?
no, women are vastly inferior in combat and have a different role in society. The negligible few who are not and are exceptional in many other ways become sisters. Still inferior to astartes in combat.

    version 1
No sister has indeed every fallen to chaos, when the Vandire incident occurred the God-Emperor decided to support them in a way that is unique and direct. They do not fall. And due to being women and not men (women are inferior in everything war-related but in this they are more capable if pure etc) they could receive this effect with ease, whilst men could not.

Chaos worshipers claim that sisters have fallen but its a lie and a deception via psychic powers, illusions and constructed flesh-things.

    version 2
few have fallen but fewer know about it, the numbers are negligible

    version 3
with the countless retcons of 40k on everything you can assume whatever the frick you want and it will not matter. A myriad versions.

i used version 1 in 40 rpg sessions

bruh in the grim dark future people fight with cybernetic enhancements and power armor and sometimes even hipster magical powers, biological differences between the sexes are irrelevant

        Anonymous

        >biological differences between the sexes are irrelevant
they are not in the least bit, the change from mortal to astartes is based on biological changes, to those that are worthy, that facilitate superhuman physical, emotional and mental capacity.

            >who aren't space marines fighting don't you?
and their competency is colossally inferior to astartes (negligible and there are a myriad things that they cannot do that astartes can), are you saying that the God-Emperor did not know what he was doing and he should just given some bigger riles to guardsmen and some women and the endless hordes of enemies of humanity would have been defeated?

              Anonymous

no, astartes are run of the mill elites that are pretty balanced or even inferior to many other types of elite fighter in the setting, including in the imperium itself

Anyone who plays games know SMs are like 20pts or some shit, and they used to have one (1) wound in editions that mattered.

              >should just given some bigger riles to guardsmen and some women
Most fighting is done by PDF, Admech, and IG. Astartes are only involved in a fraction of the combat in the setting and when they are they only pull off the victories they do thanks to PID and plot armour.
Even in the days of the Great Crusade the Imperial Army did more fighting than the Legions - this was just not depicted in the HH novels because BL sucks

              chaos worshiper

Assassins, Custodes, elite Mechanicus, and various other lesser known and one-off supersoliders match or surpass Astartes in pure combat. Astartes see their ubiquitous use thanks to their ease of production and reliability

            >argument,
its stating a fact, biology matters colossally as the foundation. The God-Emperor made astartes, thunder warriors, Custodes etc first Biologically superior and the rest would follow. And he chose those that already had better genetics.

they cannot fall its a lie,

    Grail of Ages

This goblet of black stone is said to have been created when Matriarch Alicia Dominica communed with the Emperor during the Age of Apostasy. Little is known about the grail and the power it holds, but it has been observed unleashing holy energy upon the battlefield against the enemies of the Imperium as well as performing other miracles. It is said that when Dominica poured out the vessel's contents, the Emperor's voice boomed and with a single word shattered whole armies. The grail was also said to shatter the minds of every Psyker on a planet when Dominica carried the grail to war. It is believed that there are tales of the Grail within the Black Library and possibly even in the Book of Magnus. The Sisters of the Order of the Ebon Chalice themselves do not speak of the Grail and its powers and see themselves as the guardian of its secrets. As such, they purge any texts concerned the Grail and immolate its authors as heretics.

Most space marines are as you would expect - massive chuds. Tell them you've got a new crypto coin that will return 3x the emperor's favor if they just get corrupted a *tinnny* bit and they'll go for it every time. Sisters are much more devout and actually level headed. Only the absolute most serious chapters like the grey knights can compete with them in that sense.

Entire sister covens fell to Khornate corruption in Arks of Omen: Angron.

There are more examples of corrupted sisters.

To add this as a bonus there was a Sister who fell to a Genestealer Patriarch by her own will and she became the mother figure of the cult.

There didn't seem to be anything objectionable about these, and they're basically correct. Was it the art? Or the fact that Sisters got fricked by Genestealers in those stories? (In 'Cast a Hungry Shadow', one is repeatedly impregnated until she can't bear any more children. The protagonist is in fact her hybrid son.)

Sisters can be mind controlled/mutated beyond reason, but willingly falling to Chaos is incredibly rare. You would never have a Horus Heresy-situation with Sisters.

Horus Heresy was created by the most Sister-like of space marines. Sisters not falling to chaos is one of the most arbitrary pieces of lore in a universe where most things are arbitrary.

1: Female Space Marines are not possible. Cawl and the Emperor agreed that it wasn't possible, the forces of Chaos who don't have to obey the rules haven't created any FSM either despite having the ability, as we've seen, to simply create new Chaos Marines directly via the Daemonucubla or whatever pig latin name they came up with for a hellc**t. If it were possible to create female marines Fabius Bile would've done it as a prank already.

2: The Emperor would not have done it even if it were possible because the ONLY reason to make something a woman instead of a man is if you want it to give birth, which he explicitly did not.

3: The Sisters of Battle were formed as a way to exploit a loophole allowing the Ecclesiarchy to have an armed wing, they weren't chosen because they were better or more loyal, they were chosen because the Ecclesiarchy was explicitly not allowed to have MEN under arms. By giving a bunch of fanatical nuns power armor and boltguns they were able to make them an effective fighting force.

    And finally,

4: The Horus Heresy did not happen because there was something wrong with Horus or with the Marines, the Horus Heresy happened because the Emperor was a fricking psychopath and hurt the people who would have been most loyal to him repeatedly for no reason until they rebelled against him, Lorgar would have fricking shot himself in the head if the Emperor had told him to without asking why, and HE turned because the Emperor just kept abusing him.
While it would be extremely funny to watch the Horus Heresy except the Emperor is just psychologically abusing and gaslighting his 7 foot tall daughters, the Distaff Heresy would have been as bad or worse than the Horus Heresy.

This must have me an idea for a fanfic; what if all the Primarchs had a twin sister? That was sent to the same world as them. And they’d be pretty similar but still different enough in their personalities / powers to properly differentiate them. Some might like their brother (Girlyman and Manlywoman) but other may clash with and hate them (Angron and Annoyedroness, etc).
I’d write a fanfic for this if I had the time, writing skill, or attention span.

Indeed, and the only reason people don't put up resources to make 'female spacemarines' is heavy resource investment with low chances of success. You can escape the grasp of Chaos, but the Imperium is probably never going to knowingly let you back in, they're paranoid for a very good reason.
