portal 1 is like 2 hours long, 2 like 6 but it all depends on how much you struggle with the puzzles
Portal 1 is fairly brief, but Portal 2 is much more substantial. 20 bucks is a fairly reasonable price for both, especially if you've never played them before.

Portal was already on consoles. The PS3 version of 2 even had crossplay.
