I can still load up DD and just go to an arena in BBI and have fun with the combat, because thats what Im playing for, the combat, not how wide the map is.

The dlc where you collect coins scattered around the world in hard to reach places? The dlc with free armor you get at the start of the game ruining any sort of balance? Those dlcs?
Because that's the only kind of dlcs this game got. Dark Arisen is an expansion not a dlc.

Anyway, I believe DDDA is both overrated by it's fans and underrated by its haters. A schrodinger's game, if you will. 7/10, maybe 8/10 is a fair score I'd say. But it really is one of those games where it did some stuff so incredibly right and dropped the ball very hard on other stuff. So to assign it a single score is to applying an averaging effect and is a little misleading. For example, vocation identity is something it 10/10'd. Almost all nine vocations can become op as frick, they mostly all have their own distinct flavor and playstyle, strengths, and weaknesses, and mostly all feel great to play. Compare it to build variety in soulslop, where the difference between dex and strength is the speed of your hits changes a little bit. The difference between your magic classes is one shoots blue missiles and one shoots fire or lightning. But fighter compared to warrior compared to strider? They're all three so distinct. Sorcerer compared to mystic knight? They play nothing alike.
But then you consider something like the unfinished stories or systems, the whack ass explanations for its systems, and you're looking at some 3/10 shit. Well 3 and 10 average out to be 6.5, but like I said it gives an erroneous impression of mid quality all the way through.
