I loved playing healer because I felt needed and important and now healers are automatically picked and everyone has self healing abilities. This game sucks and robbed every single nice things the players loved. If blizzshit was a good company they'd bring back overwatch 1 from the beta era. No forced heroes selection, possibility to make double picks or have an entire team of wistons and no fricking ranked, frick competitive Black folk
well i definitely felt when a healer did more than just stand behind reinhardt like a zombie healing him while hes at full health cause you guys were always on the enemy team.
As a tf2 medic I made it a priority to always give health to the small units whenever they were in the vicinity. Frick the dpsBlack folk yelling for health from the opposite side of the map when they were surrounded by four players from the enemy team though.
It's worth trying to fly at the rescue of a dps having a bad trade with opponents sometimes but when a dps is trapped in a loop of going alone and dying alone and not paying attention to what's happening around him outside of his epic killstreak I give up.
>I loved playing healer because I felt needed and important
lol fricking troon
seems like a whatever change but then I remembered that healers are the biggest primadonnas in team games and realized that's why I'm seeing so much complaining about a change in a dead game.
overwatch need to stop with the counter shit and the reliance on teammates. it is still a team game but being so reliant on everyone else sucks dick.
Why don't shitters like you just stay in other games? Overwatch was special, but normie scum like you ruined it.
newbies will never understand how much a cultural phenomon Overwatch was back in 2016. Literally everyone played it, normies, women, and hardcore players alike. It's the only game I've actually made IRL friends through.
kill time is the same but people will be getting involved in new fights faster after running out of an unfavourable one. so just git gud and kill them the first time
I played Overwatch at PAX before it came out. everyone there was playing it, it had a huge line. Almost every single person there liked the game but gave the Blizzard staff collecting feedback pretty much the same criticism "The map design feels really bad." The map was Hanamura and despite getting an entire convention of people (and assume getting that same feed back multiple times across multiple conventions) Hanamura as released in the retail version of the game was literally identical to what I played at PAX. They got told by literally thousands of people it was a shitty map with bad design and they decided they were all wrong and that they, the devs, knew better.
>they were all wrong and that they, the devs, knew better
But they do, Hanamura was pretty cool. Do I need to post again the Half-life 2 playtest thing?
It its emblematic of everything wrong with Overwatch map design, especially the first point. All centered around one choke making fight play out the same. 0 ways to gank the back line. Weird vestigial hallways and rooms on the map. There are for real places on that map I think some players might not even know exist because no one ever goes to them because there is no reason to. >Do I need to post again the Half-life 2 playtest thing?
No because that has absolutely nothing to do with what we are talking about. If you want to tell me why you think Hanamura has good design you should do that instead because all you said was "It's cool." Which barely even makes sense to me because that sounds like you are talking about its visuals which has nothing to do with map design from a gameplay perspective which is clearly what I am talk about.
I kinda understand that. Noobs are just as bad as pros when evaluating a game. I'm not saying they were wrong, just that they know too little to make any meaningful comments other than "it's bad"
Except I had one guy next to me that was literally in a Quake tournament happening at PAX and he explained to one of the Blizzard employees there that there were sections of the map no one would ever go to because there was no reason to. They got plenty of meaningful feedback from people that knew what they were talking about they just didn't act on it. I suppose it's also always possible that they just didn't have the resources to revisit and redesign maps constantly. Overwatch was kind of pushed out the door unfinished from what I remember. It's almost weird how identical the version of the map was that I played to the release version, even visually. Whenever I play a game at a convention and then play it when it releases it's almost never EXACTLY the same whether it's a big budget title or an indie one. RIP the convention version of Death's Gambit I played.
It's worth playing IMO, it saw a resurgence in the last six or so months
Get ready to be curbstomped because the people on Paladins are a LOT more organized than OW
>is it ded?
you can still find games if that's what you're worried about >is it worth playing?
depends. you will get hit with bullshit you don't understand since there's been a lot that's been added, and most games will be one-sided as frick due to old and new players getting mixed all the time
I go back to it every year or so but quit again after a week or two
I haven't played Overwatch in a long time then played Illari for the first time and realized she is just Furia from Paladins (right down to the sword gun) but boring so I went back to Paladins.
>Illari
Her bio would make a good coldsteel meme >Born with super solar powers >Killed all the other Inti warriors because she was TOO POWERFUL >Now she walks the world alone because she is TOO POWERFUL
no one talks about it because there is nothing to talk about
unless Hi-Rez fricks up something huge or a new furry champ is revealed, it simply exists as a videogame that people play.
it's alive enough that you can find a game in less than a minute (even managed to get a match in the middle of the night if you're willing to wait) and it just works to scratch that hero shooter itch.
I haven't played in around 8 months but when I did it was still pretty alive.
I'm really annoyed by how every new hero nowadays seem to have some ability that uses resources. At this rate it will powercreep the older heroes out of the game, especially ones whose abilities all have 10 sec cooldowns like Lian or Inara.
Also, ever since Hirez made all champions have passive caustic damage they have no idea what to do with the fourth red slot in the market.
My fav hero is drogoz
Last hero was just dissapointing, Not-Jenos bit looks like the Dredge Bone Skin... even has the same voice. But Im lgiving him a pass because hes at least pretty straight forward to play. most everyone in the past two years have been annoying and feels like the had to make them complicated just to make it complicated with all the resources and Stance changes yet sanding off the edges some special ones like Yaggorath
Overwatch from its first beta to Brigitte’s launch was PEAK
Pure absolute kino fun, had some bad patches yeah (Mercy invulnerability when rezzing, the OG Bastion rework, Ana healing buff which gave triple tank) but damn I’d give anything to go back to having that much fun over what we have now
newbies will never understand how much a cultural phenomon Overwatch was back in 2016. Literally everyone played it, normies, women, and hardcore players alike. It's the only game I've actually made IRL friends through.
Been there, done that when the cultural phenomenon that took the world by storm, TF2 came out. I just remember the beta ending for Overwatch and then OW porn immediately flooded the internet.
I had a lot of fun with it, put about 700 hours in before more or less quitting at the start of 2018. Tried OW2 for a bit but it's impossible to go back to those more innocent, less tryhard days. Blizzard knows how to sell their games at launch which is why they're not on death's door like Bioware or whoever but they're so fricking bad at keeping the momentum going.
Honestly I'm certain the death blow was Ana release. She caused healing to spiral out of control, to make dps get more and more oneshot abilities and higher and higher time to kill to keep up with the insane healing that was getting pumped out, which in turn caused the tank meta that never subsided until they forced roles.
Ana was the downfall, everything after was just kicking a dying horse.
So they saw that people liked that the suits in Gundam Evolution slowly healing over time.
So after the game folds they take it.
Still not playing Overwatch 2.
>bronze babies were too moronic to find a medpack after escaping a bad fight. >therefore we're removing the possibility to point out low hp ennemies for someone else to finish them off
That's how I see it.
They didn't listen to the playerbase, though, they listened to a bunch of overpaid "professional" players, who convinced them that the game needed to be balanced around the top 0.1% of interactions.
https://overwatch.blizzard.com/en-us/news/24053284/ >Starting with the obvious, Overwatch is a team-based, hero-based, multiplayer competitive shooter. Heroes, maps and game modes are all designed to require teams to work together in order to successfully win a match. When a team works together - each player using their hero to their fullest potential while relying on each other to execute a strategy - the game feels magical. There’s really no other FPS like it.
holy shit i hate this game
Lmao this change is only really going to help Tanks but the DPS will not be able to get away with this because the Health Pools for all the Tanks are SUPER inflated. When are these fricking tards going to learn that all the healing and inflated health pools do not belong in an FPS game ?
But the playerbase has been saying this shit is stupid and the obvious fix to the game is to nerf the fricking healing
Devs REFUSE to listen and keep doing their own stupid shit
this is what happens when you keep catering and catering to the bottom-of-the-barrel players nonstop for years on end. oh no, our tracers and reapers don't know how to beat roadhog. let's nerf his yank-and-shoot combo that was intended to punish bad attackers who don't press their "don't get murdered by roadhog" button. oh no, our players still have no sense of self preservation or teamwork, let's make sure the newer heroes have some way of restoring health to other teammates. oh no, they're still dying and losing and crying, let's keep changing every facet of every character like the goddamned ship of theseus until their playstyle no longer resembles how the character was originally meant to be played. oh no, even with all the changes, our players still suck so hard that even all of the defense/support/tanks who have some form of healing or damage mitigation can't save their teammates from getting rolled over like a jar of bugs at a monster truck rally. i guess we just have to give all heroes passive self-healing.
gundam evolution did this first and the game was way better. overwatch 2 is still trash though because it will never have the movement that gundam evo did.

Good. Maybe it will be fun now.
i tend to dislike my team in games where i am assigned one automatically.
You know you can queue with friends, right? You're not forced into randoms.
id never ask my friends to play something this gay.
Why does a cyborg need a hoodie?
His cyborg body feels cyborg cold so he wears a cyborg hoodie
Because it looks fricking cool. You think we won't design cyborgs to look nice?
So he can protect his metal helmet when it rains 🙂
How old is Halo?
there were already some dps with a self heal. if not being healed was a problem you would play those.
when i played overwatch 1 it was pretty much i play soldier or we lose because i was never getting a fricking heal.

How would this fix anything?
Making it less than focused and more solo carrying potential
good
can they make it 12v12 now
BASED
I fricking hate relying on other people

Word.
yurigays should frick off

Everytime.
TF2 characters suck. Add sexy girls next time.
Overwatch is becoming more and more like Paladins

this is just fricking evil, but also the fault of casual hispanics who just play call of duty and assume they can run in without a team
Lol, with each new update Overwatch just rips off Paladins more and more.
the ultimate nail in the coffin is when OW finally implements "no hero switching"
>Valve refuses to do anything about TF2 bots either
it may be unironically OVER for Hero Shooters
I mean you can't switch your class, so it's almost there already.
They’re talking about putting hero bans in comp you’re not far off
and people will continue to deny that its a MOBA with a different camera position
they should copy the character design philosophies. in particular the girls should have bigger and more exposed chests with jiggle physics.
I always say
>Paladins for boobs
>Overwatch for butts
Is paladins even still alive? I literally see no one talking about it other than Ganker when trying to shit on OW.
About six and a half thousand players at the moment.

Are you saying that TF2 caused a "cultural storm"? Because that has always been a niche game, compared to OW.
CS and TF2 had some overlap, but more people always played CS, and that game has also stayed relevant, for the same reason.
I'm just hamming it up, me and my brother met a lot of people we gamed with for years in TF2, that much is true.
I had a lot of fun with it, put about 700 hours in before more or less quitting at the start of 2018. Tried OW2 for a bit but it's impossible to go back to those more innocent, less tryhard days. Overwatch is a game at all? Could've fooled me
I made the mistake of going to the overwatch general once
>bronze babies were too moronic to find a medpack after escaping a bad fight.
>therefore we're removing the possibility to point out low hp ennemies for someone else to finish them off
That's how I see it.
That’s exactly it
People were too stupid to go find a healthpack instead of sitting in front of the enemy spamming “I NEED HEALING”
Health packs are always located in the ass end of fricking nowhere in this game.
by a door or a shed usually, but yeah they're out of the way a lot of the time.
oh praise fricking jesus, why did this take 5 years to implement
Has Blizzard made ONE good balancing decision in the 8 years this game existed?
its hardly balance if they didnt add anything up front.
They didn't want to up the age rating by giving her a 13 inch futa wiener like the porn guys do
This is why you don't listen to the playerbase
The players, largely, don't know what makes the game good
They didn't listen to the playerbase, though, they listened to a bunch of overpaid "professional" players, who convinced them that the game needed to be balanced around the top 0.1% of interactions.
Do pro players need this?
I would think pro healers actually heal their team

We Garden Warfare now?
I fricking wish. Garden Warfare died for nothing and it left a hole in my heart.
I thought the self-heal was supposed to be the medkits
Both Overwatch and Paladins peaked at launch.
i miss ying clone dps healer hybrid. i should paly her game again
I tried getting back into Paladins after not playing for a couple of years.

bomb king main?
tomar's greatest role
This is like the only good change they will ever make that should've been there day 1
Maybe dps can actually fight support now, crazy
Ah yes dps healing when they’re not in combat will let them fight supports now
Great bronze take
Yes moron. If you can't figure it out then you're worthless.
Projecting too I see
If its as moronic as support self heal then yes
Not sure how to feel about this. Health packs WERE the self-healing option for flankers, but I hated that Sombra hacks kinda of ruined that.
overwatch is still my main game I play. SORRY
>wanting to be Paladins
Only a matter of time
you can already get furry-adjacent skins for most heroes and we already have 2 actual talking animals in-game
they're treading the waters with that japanese girl with a fox theme, but i think a full-blown fuzzy woman is far off. or they're saving it as a last resort
Furry woman, full-blown, is of course what I'm talking about yes.
Only a matter of time lol
This would unironically fix every issue with overwatch 2
Correct.
I will now play your game
People actually play Overwatch instead of just looking at the porn?
why not just add more healthpacks to maps like any other afps
why are small-team shooters literally always less fun
Because you rely more on your team, with the way they typically make each kit
I actually started playing again last year and it was enjoyable. Until the massive difference in teams started again. I would get a team where no matter what I do, we are going to lose. So I said frick this toxic matchmaking, and deleted the game.
Sad to confirm that it’s still like that
Matches are either stomp or get stomped
They refuse to fix their trash matchmaking
I only know a single human being who still plays overwatch and it's an obese lesbian in my office
assess yourself
I would ask you the same since she seems to live rent free even when you’re at home
This feels like a pretty massive change out of the blue, is the game struggling that hard?
idk but in all seriousness individual agency is important and the lack of it is a big reason why Overwatch isn't fun at all
No it’s the devs being absolutely moronic
For the past year players have complained that supports are too OP in 5v5 because of the strength of their healing, the damage they do (better than most dps), and their insanely powerful kits (Junker Queen, a tank, has an ult that stops the enemy from being healed.
