The entire point of the game is it is playable at any pace. You literally can't die. The pizza time sequences give you a ton of time (remember, the timer has to be long enough to do it twice over). You don't HAVE to p rank or anything. Just enjoy playing.

Apparently the whole thing got rebooted in early 2020 to focus on Mach Dash mechanic rather than on combat or puzzles, because the playtesting guys thought "it didn't flow well". You can notice that when comparing Patreon demos released before and after the first half of 2020
I pirated it and dropped it. It didn't support my official Xbox controller. Literally couldn't finish the tutorial because jumping would cancel the dash. It's a known issue. If a dev can't do the bare minimum of Xbox controller support they aren't getting my time or money.
Not enough time and I already have a bunch of games I want to play this summer, don't think I'd have time for it.
But it is in the backburner, I plan to play it at some point.
