Why would you ever use anything but pkp?

      because dodge offset makes p p p k k k more OP actually I think
Nevertheless holy shit what an awful combat system, pure unfiltered garbage

Final Boss and the 2nd game

Bayo 2 is a big downgrade in so many aspects
      >gameplay with enemies that require witch time and have infinite parry/block shit
      >aesthetics/architecture/settings wise due to lack of full Paradiso focus
      >music has only a few memorable tracks while Bayo 1 is godly in this regard
Lack of Kamiya is also fet presentation wise.
You look at the entire final boss sequence of Bayo 2 and holy shit it's completely neutered compared to Jeanne rocket riding + the entire Jubileus fight during and after.
At the very least it doesn't have the Kamiya forced platform/shooting shit, I guess.
Also demons look like shit compared to Angels, especially the golem ass looking ones

Bayo2 is wayyyy fricking better. The level design is so much better, no shitty angel attack mini game, no qte deaths, no flaming enemy bullshit just better weapons, better levels, better music, better presentations, more replayability

The whole reason why people play bunching bag simulators is because they do not restrict your control like fighting games do. The matchup between the player and the npc is also not supposed to be even remotely fair for the npc.

Why didn't they penalize your score for spamming the same move? It's like spamming stinger to get S in DMC or something.

I've played both Bayonetta's, but only the first 2 stages of each.

While i didn't really enjoyed the game (I prefer W101), it doesn't get good if its not the type of action you enjoy.

Of the little time i played it was quite obvious the game isn't too much about beating but rather doing stuff that looks like cool shit for you.

So no, it will not get better if the premise isn't something you like.

        >Really? Why should anyone take your opinion seriously?

Played other Platinum/Kamiya games. Plus you get the opinion of someone that dropped the game, that way you receive information from different sources, creating and opinion that involves different cases.

is this good enough or this it need an extra layer for an extra 16 moves?

The dodge offset and score system actually means you resort to the same combo over and over
It doesn't matter how many combos there are. You can always find the best and constantly do that

    Compared to DMC's
    >Press triangle

Bayonetta is far more complex. If you want complexity in action games, you want God Hand or The Wonderful 101.

  13. 2 years ago

bayonetta is a spectacle fighter in the purest sense of the word, it took all the flashy parts of dmc1 and viewtiful joe without anything that made those games have depth to the combat - you're here for the crazy setpieces

if you want a kamiya game that actually has something going on with the inputs play wonderful 101

All I've come to learn is it doesn't matter as long as the core gameloop is fun. Not everything needs to be Devil May Cry, the Dark Souls franchise is pretty much all one button to attack but has mechanics built around it that gives it depth.

Is there a full breakdown of the combat potential in Bayonetta? Like which combos are best, which weapons excel at what, explanations of dodge offset and exploitable glitches. That type of thing.

      Anonymous

Firstly, you have to learn dodge offset. Kamiya purposely hid the mechanic from the public in order to be a dick, but it's the most important part of the game.

Secondly, Kamiya's games are all about repetition and building up skill. You have to play them for hundreds of hours, finishing them multiple times and slowly working your way up through the difficulty levels.
Only when you can 1 credit finish his games on the hardest setting do they become satisfying.

      Probably the one matthewmatosis did.
