His bow move is an exclusive skill. If you've had him in your party for a while it may have been swapped out for a newer skill. You can just set it as an active skill again. Exclusive skills tend to be better than generic skills

The attacks your pal has dictates it’s movement during combat too. Shot attacks will cause it to back step and stay far away while burst causes their ai to stay close. By default your pal will approach and circle the enemy

It's called Reddit Rock because it's popular, not who found it first. Therefore you build somewhere else that is not popular.
It is not terrible advice if its multiplayer. Chances are its always taken unless the others are willing to share, which is a bit difficult given the layout unless its a single guild base occupying the spot.
I do use the rock and I'm currently figuring out the correct number of Astegons and Helzephyrs to full efficiency mine it. I've currently got 5 full condensed Astegons with sanity/hunger passives, but I don't think they're clearing it consistently. Maybe I'll add some more Astegons later. They're using surprisingly little food.
I like 25% condense cost. The default is ridiculous when you consider that the only way to max efficiency a base pal is with full condense and you have 60 base slots to fill. Ain't no way anyone's catching 7076 duplicate pals to autism max their bases.
Work speed doesn't affect ore mining. It only affects the rock pit. The only way to make a pal mine ore faster is to condense them, so my lads are as fast as it gets and the passives are just there to make them waste less time eating and breaking. I bred a pair of work speed miners before I learned that, but all they're good for is the rock pit.
Yes work speed affects ore mining.
Catch one miner pal with artisan and one without, and watch the difference.
Work speed pals have higher attack speed on ores with shorter delays.
Stop looking at numbers. Your grug brain should be able to process more information than "higher number good, same number no difference"

Nope just tested it. Got my 70 work speed and 186 work speed Astegons mining the same vein perfectly in sync. Same hit rate and damage. It'd be cool if they patched it to benefit from work speed but as it is it looks like work speed does nothing for ore.

If you're using these to transport, don't.
Transport rank is a meme, it basically doesn't do anything. It influences the number of items a pal can transport at once, but doesn't mean they will always do this. Basically it does nothing if you aren't using logging camps or stone pits. Further, birds have pathing issues beyond normal that make them badly suited to any work whatsoever.
Good transporters are small and quick.
The best transporter is Kilimari, probably followed by Celeray. Specifically, for a mining base, it's usually good to just go full Anubis. Anubis is a good transporter AND a good miner, and is small so is less likely to get stuck. If you're at the stage where you're breeding workers, go for Anubis.
Get Swift on your transporters, get Work Speed elsewhere, but work speed is of dubious value to miners working on ore. It helps, but, not that much. Swift transporters are what you really really want.
Sanity is managed by cooking good food; salad, pancakes, or even just jam buns will keep everyone at full sanity, and put big dents in their hunger.
Helzephyr is fast, pure, and nocturnal. It will do its job 24/7 without constantly stop starting other tasks like mixed transporters do. It's only flaw is size which isn't a problem with my setup. The Astegons are also nocturnal miners, so I need nocturnal transport to match. I have zero beds set up at my mining base. Lucario is also a rank worse and thus ~30% slower at mining, so I have no reason to even consider them.
I built a base on reddit rock, but my main base was on a big flat area on the SE of Marsh Island, If I was to start again I'd probably use that ore vein near Chillet as my main base. I remember flying back and forth from there a lot early game before realising that Desolate Church has like 7 ore nodes right near the fast travel point. Reddit rock is too good to not put a fast travel point down on mid game, but it's horrible as a building location.

Been fighting with pathfinding, trying to make a base with a bunch of buildings connected with catwalks. Seems like pathfinding always starts off at the palbox and runs through the current location of the pal to the destination point. If the resulting path is too long the pal gives up and does something else, regardless of how close they were to the destination. I assume that's to keep pals from getting too far from the palbox. You can sort of fix it by placing many stairwells to shorten the paths, but that wastes a lot of space and looks ugly.
Game is boring once you start to enter late game and realise how shit everything feels. Might be a good game in a years time but with all the money that cuckolds gave them, they don't really have an incentive to do anything
Is Reddit Rock the elevated stone area with a cluster of ore deposits down the stream from the first boss tower? I already built a base there. Turns out it's not totally raid-proof, they sometimes find a way across the bridge. It's defensible as frick, though. I'm building a big stone keep there to match the theme.

Yeah, found out about that just yesterday when I started a new single player, raid party spawned right across the bridge, and to make things worse it was in the middle of the night with all my Pals sleeping, and I still haven't built any major weapons yet. Luckily it was a basic tier Syndicate raid, and I built my base with elevated foundations around the iron nodes, with a staircase facing the bridge. I just stood on it, and they stopped dead in their tracks with no way past like morons waiting for me to pickaxe them to death. The raid AI is something PP needs to work on, because they just gun straight to the base and don't react to anything else.

Be careful what you wish for. Later-game raids are absolutely deserving of the title and will frick your base up. They won't be easy forever, get your fortifications ready.

Space constraints stop it. Needed the ground-level space for mining, and didn't have room for stairs. And I'm not sure what sets off higher-level raids, I just know that as I increased my character and base level I started getting really nasty ones. It's probably base level.

Just level up. I'm level 46 and get raids of lvl 30's. The problem is that the XP pals get for working in your base plateaus hard in the mid 20's so they don't really help against the raids.

I climbed up there and got attacked by a whole group of bad guy NPCs with crossbows. I put my palbox down on the edge and teleported away to despawn them.
When I came back, I broke the palbox to reposition it. When I broke it, three Beegardes and an Elizabee spawned directly on top of me and exploded

And speaking of hotsprings it seems that if you only build one it often stays unoccupied and my theory is that multiple AI are trying to claim it but the game can't decide who gets it first so no one does. Building 2-3 seems to solve the issue.
1) Is there some sort of potion in the game or the only health recovery is nat regen and teafant skill?
2) Is there a way to revive the pal in field because it seems that incapacitated status is only gone if you dump it into palbox or drop its body at the base so it gets dragged to bed and sleeps to full hp?
1. Teafant, Petallia, Lyleen, no there isn't a single item that has health restoration
2. Modified Pokemon rules here, you must bring a KO'd pal back to a box or sleep through the night on a bed. That is why its a good idea to tag out pals from battle early to let them regenerate health.

It helps prevent potion spam tanks. That could be remedied somewhat by introducing a timer on using another health potion, but at that point what purpose does it serve other than to bloat the HP pools of players and perhaps their pals by one potion's worth? If you do get low on health you have to mount and run.
Maybe if healing potions were expensive, or healed a fixed amount that meant you needed better ones as you progressed, they'd be okay. Or just make them give an HP regen increase instead of direct healing.
Actually, you can just put a fainted pal out in one of your bases, wait a few seconds, and it'll get back up with like 2 health, assuming it isn't starving.

I have an Artisan lv5 kindling Jormuntide that I condensed with the cheaper condense mod, but the pal ingots and cakes are still too slow. I'm about to have to breed 115% passive work speed onto a Jormuntide. The fact that nothing breeds to them is a pain in the ass, but I got lucky and caught a lucky one while farming the preserve for them. I just want fast as fucc cakes and ingots.
Got artisan, lucky, and serious on a Jormuntide. He's fast as frick, but not fast enough. Now I need to either catch or randomly breed one with work slave. Figures that the one pal that is the bottleneck of all my work is also the hardest to breed and catch. His fire nuke is a pain in the ass and impossible to dodge while flying.

I used a Quivern and it works too.
As long as you don't get off the mount, it's not considered a crime.
Frick, you can attack the guards from the mount, and as long as you don't shoot them yourself, it's not even a crime.
If you touch the ground in the sanctuary it counts as trespassing and procs a wanted pursuit with the island's faction only if some of the grunts that spawn there see you. The wanted pursuit is just a couple minutes of piss easy level 10 grunts spawning on you. Other than that there's zero consequence. Catch to your heart's content. If you have a flying mountain and never dismount it won't even count as trespassing.

To me, that's the best way to play, since you can go at your own pace and actually immerse yourself in the game.

Why rate Ice as 35-50 while desert is rated as 40-50? Desert is way easier in my opinion, hell many of the groups you encounter are level 30s while the Ice area has level 45 groups.

put the mining zone (the stone ones that replenish) on a floor and let it only be accessible by a set of stairs. If you don't want anyone mining stone, then remove stairs.
If the Anubis is mine nodes within your base then break them yourself. If you don't want stone nodes to respawn, put a carpet on the area after you break them..
You need to craft the next tier if balls or hunt bosses to level. Don’t bother with the green balls. They’re not that much easier to craft than the yellow ones. You gotta start thinking about automation

It is not terrible advice if its multiplayer. Chances are its always taken unless the others are willing to share, which is a bit difficult given the layout unless its a single guild base occupying the spot.
The devs should've put a few more ore/coal fields into the game so people don't have to squabble over this one.

I do use the rock and I'm currently figuring out the correct number of Astegons and Helzephyrs to full efficiency mine it. I've currently got 5 full condensed Astegons with sanity/hunger passives, but I don't think they're clearing it consistently. Maybe I'll add some more Astegons later. They're using surprisingly little food.
I like 25% condense cost. The default is ridiculous when you consider that the only way to max efficiency a base pal is with full condense and you have 60 base slots to fill. Ain't no way anyone's catching 7076 duplicate pals to autism max their bases.

Work speed doesn't affect ore mining. It only affects the rock pit. The only way to make a pal mine ore faster is to condense them, so my lads are as fast as it gets and the passives are just there to make them waste less time eating and breaking. I bred a pair of work speed miners before I learned that, but all they're good for is the rock pit.

Catch one miner pal with artisan and one without, and watch the difference.
Work speed pals have higher attack speed on ores with shorter delays.
Stop looking at numbers. Your grug brain should be able to process more information than "higher number good, same number no difference"
Nope just tested it. Got my 70 work speed and 186 work speed Astegons mining the same vein perfectly in sync. Same hit rate and damage. It'd be cool if they patched it to benefit from work speed but as it is it looks like work speed does nothing for ore.

If you're using these to transport, don't.
Transport rank is a meme, it basically doesn't do anything. It influences the number of items a pal can transport at once, but doesn't mean they will always do this. Basically it does nothing if you aren't using logging camps or stone pits. Further, birds have pathing issues beyond normal that make them badly suited to any work whatsoever.
Good transporters are small and quick.
The best transporter is Kilimari, probably followed by Celeray. Specifically, for a mining base, it's usually good to just go full Anubis. Anubis is a good transporter AND a good miner, and is small so is less likely to get stuck. If you're at the stage where you're breeding workers, go for Anubis.
Get Swift on your transporters, get Work Speed elsewhere, but work speed is of dubious value to miners working on ore. It helps, but, not that much. Swift transporters are what you really really want.
Sanity is managed by cooking good food; salad, pancakes, or even just jam buns will keep everyone at full sanity, and put big dents in their hunger.
Helzephyr is fast, pure, and nocturnal. It will do its job 24/7 without constantly stop starting other tasks like mixed transporters do. It's only flaw is size which isn't a problem with my setup. The Astegons are also nocturnal miners, so I need nocturnal transport to match. I have zero beds set up at my mining base. Lucario is also a rank worse and thus ~30% slower at mining, so I have no reason to even consider them.

I built a base on reddit rock, but my main base was on a big flat area on the SE of Marsh Island, If I was to start again I'd probably use that ore vein near Chillet as my main base. I remember flying back and forth from there a lot early game before realising that Desolate Church has like 7 ore nodes right near the fast travel point. Reddit rock is too good to not put a fast travel point down on mid game, but it's horrible as a building location.

Been fighting with pathfinding, trying to make a base with a bunch of buildings connected with catwalks. Seems like pathfinding always starts off at the palbox and runs through the current location of the pal to the destination point. If the resulting path is too long the pal gives up and does something else, regardless of how close they were to the destination. I assume that's to keep pals from getting too far from the palbox. You can sort of fix it by placing many stairwells to shorten the paths, but that wastes a lot of space and looks ugly.
Game is boring once you start to enter late game and realise how shit everything feels. Might be a good game in a years time but with all the money that cuckolds gave them, they don't really have an incentive to do anything

Yeah, found out about that just yesterday when I started a new single player, raid party spawned right across the bridge, and to make things worse it was in the middle of the night with all my Pals sleeping, and I still haven't built any major weapons yet. Luckily it was a basic tier Syndicate raid, and I built my base with elevated foundations around the iron nodes, with a staircase facing the bridge. I just stood on it, and they stopped dead in their tracks with no way past like morons waiting for me to pickaxe them to death. The raid AI is something PP needs to work on, because they just gun straight to the base and don't react to anything else.
they should also make raids the actual raids because 5 losers just trying to run into the base and getting btfo by your base pals in about 10 seconds assuming you don't oneshot them with your pal is just sad
the only remotely threatening raid i had was Seven Bushi and mostly because if multiple decide to attack you at once that really hurts
Bigger issue is that team Pals won't attack raiders until they're inside the base perimeter, so blocking them out with a gate and raining hell on them with Pals as they come in doesn't work unless you use a mount.
Be careful what you wish for. Later-game raids are absolutely deserving of the title and will frick your base up. They won't be easy forever, get your fortifications ready.

What exactly stops you from building a death corridor into mid lined with turrets other than space constraints? Plus your base gangs up on anything you attack near it

Space constraints stop it. Needed the ground-level space for mining, and didn't have room for stairs. And I'm not sure what sets off higher-level raids, I just know that as I increased my character and base level I started getting really nasty ones. It's probably base level.

Just level up. I'm level 46 and get raids of lvl 30's. The problem is that the XP pals get for working in your base plateaus hard in the mid 20's so they don't really help against the raids.

Raid level is tied to base level.
If you stopped bothering with it once you unlocked 15 pals per base, you won't face the max level raids.

No transfer of characters. Every server means a brand new start at Lvl1.
They’re working on server data transfers, but I think they’ll need to finalize a lot of game systems before then. For now it means having to start over for each server

I climbed up there and got attacked by a whole group of bad guy NPCs with crossbows. I put my palbox down on the edge and teleported away to despawn them.
When I came back, I broke the palbox to reposition it. When I broke it, three Beegardes and an Elizabee spawned directly on top of me and exploded

And speaking of hotsprings it seems that if you only build one it often stays unoccupied and my theory is that multiple AI are trying to claim it but the game can't decide who gets it first so no one does. Building 2-3 seems to solve the issue.

1) Is there some sort of potion in the game or the only health recovery is nat regen and teafant skill?
2) Is there a way to revive the pal in field because it seems that incapacitated status is only gone if you dump it into palbox or drop its body at the base so it gets dragged to bed and sleeps to full hp?
1. Teafant, Petallia, Lyleen, no there isn't a single item that has health restoration
2. Modified Pokemon rules here, you must bring a KO'd pal back to a box or sleep through the night on a bed. That is why its a good idea to tag out pals from battle early to let them regenerate health.

It helps prevent potion spam tanks. That could be remedied somewhat by introducing a timer on using another health potion, but at that point what purpose does it serve other than to bloat the HP pools of players and perhaps their pals by one potion's worth? If you do get low on health you have to mount and run.

I have an Artisan lv5 kindling Jormuntide that I condensed with the cheaper condense mod, but the pal ingots and cakes are still too slow. I'm about to have to breed 115% passive work speed onto a Jormuntide. The fact that nothing breeds to them is a pain in the ass, but I got lucky and caught a lucky one while farming the preserve for them. I just want fast as fucc cakes and ingots.

Got artisan, lucky, and serious on a Jormuntide. He's fast as frick, but not fast enough. Now I need to either catch or randomly breed one with work slave. Figures that the one pal that is the bottleneck of all my work is also the hardest to breed and catch. His fire nuke is a pain in the ass and impossible to dodge while flying.
Just use Jetragon/Relaxaurus rocket launchers or Mossanda Grenade Launcher to stunlock it, it'll interrupt the cast of Fire Ball too.

If you touch the ground in the sanctuary it counts as trespassing and procs a wanted pursuit with the island's faction only if some of the grunts that spawn there see you. The wanted pursuit is just a couple minutes of piss easy level 10 grunts spawning on you. Other than that there's zero consequence. Catch to your heart's content. If you have a flying mountain and never dismount it won't even count as trespassing.

I have friends and I still play single player.
To me, that's the best way to play, since you can go at your own pace and actually immerse yourself in the game.
Do note that the game doesn't have that much content yet. At around level 35 it started becoming really boring, personally, but I had some 60 hours in it already + a couple of hours playing MP with friends, so still worth it considering that I can come back to it at any point,
How does it compare to Helldrivers?
No idea, I haven't played helldivers, but I imagine that it's apples and oranges.
Helldivers does look like tons of fun from a cursory glance, but that's just a surface level observation really.

I'm level 30 and I'm not sure what I should be doing. The desert is too tough for me, I can build the mass assembly line but i dont see much point in it, is it that good?
Assembly lines can do everything the workbench can + more, so yeah.
You need to be catching 10 of each pal for more xp, there's also a mini desert to the west you can go to.

Why rate Ice as 35-50 while desert is rated as 40-50? Desert is way easier in my opinion, hell many of the groups you encounter are level 30s while the Ice area has level 45 groups.

Either keep one in your party to toss out or use handicraft only pals like loupmoon. Yes he has half the handicraft level, but half speed is better than no speed.
Same logic is why I swapped my jormuntide out for a smaller watering pal, even if they have less watering.
put the mining zone (the stone ones that replenish) on a floor and let it only be accessible by a set of stairs. If you don't want anyone mining stone, then remove stairs.
If the Anubis is mine nodes within your base then break them yourself. If you don't want stone nodes to respawn, put a carpet on the area after you break them..
