I still honestly can't hate him that much because "I'll do it tomorrow" is a really shitty attitude that usually results in people not doing something at all more often then not. Doesn't change that he and the conflict was poorly written and probably the worst in the series though.

Sure, but the issue with causing mass eruptions is that, A, if you boil a bunch of water like that you just cause it to rain back down again elsewhere and cause problems for other people, and B, you're throwing a bunch of ash and smoke into the air and probably killing off a lot of life. They're both Twitter level ecoterrorists who think mr freeze robbing a bank by freezing it solid is a good thing because he's "cooling the earth"
That's a Hoenn problem tho, there are plenty of Pokemon that can eat/purify the polluted air and plenty of Pokemon, some legendary, that can be called upon to make it rain.

The whole point was to use the Championship match to show off his grand scheme to Galar. Everyone would already be watching the match, so this was his chance to step in and show everyone how big of a hero he was for solving an 'impending' crisis. Unfortunately for him, it all went to shit, and instead of getting the positive press he was hoping for, he incriminated himself on live TV.

I'm 100% convinced the original plot wasn't supposed to have a villain and you were supposed to simply watch Leon job in front of you and save the day, but they decided otherwise at the very last minute and this is the result
The woman was supposed to be the original villain and betray Rose.
Rose could have been interesting if he was using his position of power to push leon around under threats of blacklisting him from competing, forcing him to help with his nonsense “wake the ancient evil as a power source” plan.
But instead we just have leon running all over the map for no reason and then rose sudden is a villain for no reason
Swsh is the worst pokemon plot by far and its not even remotely close
