Better question, do they count as legendaries like the ultra beasts did?

They cannot breed have no gender and high BSTs but aren't unique or limited in any capacity, they're in the same boat as Ultra Beasts, not legendaries, but still restricted I presume.

Can they be shiny in this unlimited capacity? Or are they shiny locked? If yes, they're basically UBs.

          >are they shiny locked?
          No.
Many shiny Paradox have been found already.

        >high BSTs
There alright, but definitely get outclassed by lots of other normal pokemon.

        >they're in the same boat as Ultra Beasts, not legendaries
UBs are LITERALLY a variety of Legendary, anon. It's even in the fricking code.

They're coded as legendaries, but are not considered legendaries in the lore. They're their own category of Pokemon.

            >that question
They might as well asked that old Bulbasaur, Mew, Arceus, Rhydon question.

Gen 7 marks Legendaries in the dex and UBs are marked like any other. It's an official classification, there's no "sort of but not really" frickery to argue here.

Do they not evolve anymore? All future forms are final evos; no Magnezone, Wigglytuff, Mismagius?
        Lame if so.

I can at least get the no final evos in some cases. Magnezone I can see having not developed prior to technology (even if one can be seen flying around in Hisui), or at least not prior to Magnemite/Magnetron moving from a ground type to Steel type.
I was going to make an argument that Wigglytuff didn't develop until whatever meteor that brought Clefairy crashed into the planet, but then I remembered that Moon Stones are still going to be available in modern day so that probably doesn't hold.
