Scarlet's entries all mention that Violet's paradox mons originate from scifi-cryptid magazines. Arven's postgame quest let's you read the scarlet book. It has some backstory of the original expedition into the madrid crater area. The author had some dream were he had something wisper to him, the picture of the page looks like a schematic for the "time machine" you see in the endgame. Another page has a picture of the possible third legendary which looks like a lizard on a diamond, according to the holey text it's a disk like pokemon.
The professor's diaries in the observatory that the pokemon on the bottom of the crater is the source of the tera crystallization. If you do the History classes in the academy you find out that the scarlet book was deemed hogwash by the general public and nowadays is only found in esoteric shops (the expedition as 200 years ago) the whole expedition was probably just some money laundry and the paradox mons where made up to justify extra founding from the academy (there is a page in the scarlet book which heavily emphasizes this) . The prof found the schematics to the machine ten years prior to the story, made another expedition down the crater, discovered how to make tera crytalization possible outside of the crater by making the tera orbs out of the crytals found there, used the money from this to build the machine from the book, when the machine began to spew out the Paradox pokemon they wrongly concluded that they were real after all and from the past/future when in reality they were probably some sort of tulpa created by the wish granting pokemon.
This makes perfect sense considering that the crater area is a paradise full of pseudo-legendaries, white flabebe's and there are items every two steps on the ground, the whole thing is a honey trap to lure in people towards the sleeping pokemon. In short, it's some lovecraftian story about a sleeping god.

I like it, op. I'll ride with you
If this is actually the route they go with instead of a straight forward time machine shenanigans, then I'd be really impressed. Sounds kino.
Koraidon is literally Guilemon
It is, in Scarlet the future paradoxes are seen as moronic shit from sci-fi magazines and the past ones are mentioned to be like the creatures from the Scarlet book, because the Scarlet Book exists in this game. In Violet it's the opposite, they have the Scarlet Book so they take future paradoxes more seriously and the past ones are the dumb ones.
And then there's the prehistoric Suicue-Entei-Raikou pokemon and the Virizion-Terrakion-Cobalion pokemon. They don't even make sense but they will be imagined into reality like the other paradoxes.
Is this like commentary on old textbooks and novels predicting wacky stuff in the future and misinterpreting the past in real life?
Like say what authors and scholars in the 1900 saw and believed the past and future to be?
The lovecraftian horror monster kind of makes sense in that case since its creating paradox pokemon based on collective concious fantasies of the people around came into first contact with.
Imagine if the dlc made you go to an entire mini-world where its like cyber cities or dinotopia underneath the planet, but they both have architectural similarities that imply it is a projection of the beast lair.
It makes sense for this creature to then be incredibly powerful given we had one with huge BST last time and the third movie had that supercharged collective of unknowns create basically a pocket dream dimension.
Imagine that amplified by the factor of ten with a Pokemon at god levels of power. More and more Pokemon are exceeding Arceus levels of power.
>Is this like commentary on old textbooks and novels predicting wacky stuff in the future and misinterpreting the past in real life?
A bit. It's also a bit of cryptids, UFOs, and the people who believe in them. (the Pokedex entries are a blatant parody of Weekly World News)

>While separated from the research team in the crater's depths, I found a strand entity. Whether it was a Pokémon, or even alive at all, I know not. It bore a shell with layers of overlapping hexagons, and gleamed brighter still than gemstone. Viewed as a whole, it resembled a mysterious, brilliant disk.
Danke
He be brushing.
That’s scawy :[
>I found a strand entity
>strand
Isn't that supposed to be "strange"?
Nope. S/V was secretely directed by Hideo Kojima
It's a wheel, not a disk. It'll be a Cyclizar/Zygarde hybrid. Shape to left of crown is face with eye and tongue, underneath the crown, the light and dark oval, is the cyclizar throat bump with a hand and aura, to the right a tail.

Yeah we figured out that much, even Arven mentions how it makes no sense the book had paradoxes over a hundred years before his parent brought them to Paldea with his machine. Sada is the kind of moron who believes in Nessy and Bigfoot while Turo is the kind of moron who believes in lizard people and alien abductions, so their delusions manifested as real using Terastal's power.
>Sada is the kind of moron who believes in Nessy and Bigfoot
i'll give you nessie, but bigfoot's as real as you and I
>A name of a potential DLC Pokémon has leaked. UNERUMINAMO ウネルミナモ.
>This was registered by Nintendo in Japan along the rest of the Gen 9 Pokémon.
>Here is a possible meaning of the name.
(Sorry it’s not detailed, busy)
>Uneru 畝るis to kinda twist, to surge, think rigid or to to move or go with a smooth up-and-down motion.
>Minamo 水面not the common writing? But a way to say waters surface
So the ships in the stormy waters on top of the disk and in the ashnime painting might actually have some larger significance.
It’s probably just Suicune’s name.
The paradox legendary beast doesn't seem that closely tied to water though. While the third legendary as seen
is literally a watery serpent curling around the surface of the disk.
Is this also connected with Sada/Turo wishing for an extra pair of hands and suddenly having a very advanced AI duplicate that couldn't have been built by humans?
Probably. They were crazy about completing their research and needed help, then they happen to have a perfect robot duplicate of themselves by the time they die.
The fact that humans lack the knowledge to have created it pretty much confirms it. The AI also stated that it couldn't leave Area Zero because of its own connection to the crystals, so something funky is going on. Of course it's likely just stating how Sada/Turo understood everything since it's a copy and all, but it's definitely a piece of the 'puzzle'.
>AI is too sophisticated
>when Porygon exists
Porygon isn't as intelligent as a human, anon.
Yeah, I realized after I posted that the whole theme of the Porygon line is that their AI sucks and attempting to upgrade it had mixed results at best.
Still, it's funny to think that, in the Pokemon world, turning a digital program into a physical being is more feasible than giving it a proper mind.
Likely. This is technology that doesn't exist anywhere else in the series, is said to be powered by crystals, and doesn't work far away from Paldea.
could this Pokemon be conected to the pokehex type mechanic that was hinted for the DLC by the leakers?
this pokemon seems broken, if its the reason behind the Paradoxes, Terrastalization, the AI etc. Maybe cannonically it can rival Arceus power?
We know nothing about it, but I assume it'll be closer to Ultra Necrozma or Eternatus, since those two also shit out regional gimmicks.
Contrary to Ultra Necrozma and Eternatus though, this Pokemon is capable of creation similar to Arceus. It has already managed to spawn biologically functional creatures from fiction into reality.
exactly and we dont know yet the full extent of its power, if it has a boosted from like eternamax for example, etc
The full extent of its power is probably something crazy like being every type at once, considering it’s the origin of Terastallizing. Everyone thought the Legend Plate would make Arceus omni-typed but it didn’t, maybe it’s because they were saving that for this Pokémon. It would make sense given the last few generations.
>Fug, the original Mega Evolution, is the strongest one and can do so without an item
>Necrozma, the origin of Z-Crystals, has a super-powerful form and a Z-Move to match it
>Eternatus, the origin of Dynamaxing, has a Max form so powerful it can’t even be used by the player
>????, the origin of Terastallizing, should logically be the most powerful one and this should be reflected in gameplay
I wonder if maybe it has some kind of element barrier gimmick, that would be good for a boss. Like it becomes immune to the last type that hit it
I’m hoping this isn’t the case, but maybe they nerfed Protean so this Pokémon could have what used to be Protean/Libero as it’s own “super special ability”
What if it could do it at will?
>Hit Tera button
>Radial clock menu looking similar to the design on the ground in the main town
>Select whatever Tera type you want
>something crazy like being every type at once
This is just a theory, but maybe it has the ability to switch types every turn. That would explain why they nerfed Protean.
>if you combined all types in a single pokemon it would be weak only to Rock
>third legend is a gem (the crystal exagons), with the power of gems (Terastalization), that is weak to gems (Rock type)
maybe its type is the unkwown type (???), it has STAB with every move it can use but has no weaknesses/resistances/imunities
I believe its an incarnation of the pokemon devil so to speak. Arceus is like the depiction of the heavenly god. With Mews as its angels, creating new life.
Whereas this creature from below takes life for its own. Its not a destroyer per se, but more like the anti-life.
It seems very intentional. Designs of pokemon created from word concepts fed into AI.
isnt the devil Giratina? not saying it isnt the case tho, it could very well have been sealed in the crater on Paldea
Giratina is all over the place in motif. Don't look for a specific role.
I have seen Giratina to be more like a fallen angel, a Lucifer more than an outright devil. Capable of evil but would rather be left alone in peace.
Japan is weird. They often see the devil and lucifer as two completely different concepts.
I guess kinda. But demiurges are often servants of a greater power.
The reason I liken it more to being a devil is the way Terastallizing works. Specifically how pokemon can have different ones. Its like that specific pokemon had a desire outside of its reach strong enough for the tera crystals to reach out to it specifically to grant it.
Like the sudowoodo that the gym leader uses. It wanted to be a tree and do what trees do so hard it gained grass instead of rock.
Satan and Lucifer aren't the same
The continued labeling of Giratina as some sort of Lucifer/Satan antagonistic force feels almost willfully ignorant. The similarities end because Giratina was exiled. In Platinum it literally saves the day by kidnapping Cyrus and forcing back dialga and palkia. When you wander into its realm it just hangs out and watches you before giving you the choice to capture it, perhaps as a sign of respect--you can leave without even battling it after all, it has no malice in its actions whatsoever.
Because that is reformed post-modern depiction of it.
Would be more accurate to consider the third legendary to be akin to the Demiurge instead of the devil. There's a creation motif here which the devil lacks.
People are too obsessed with forcing Christian mythology onto Arceus, it's a god and can create things but Eternatmax and Ultra Necrozma would still fight evenly with it in combat.
Don't forget the retcon/reveal from Legends that the Arceus we see is just a fragment of the real deal.
We knew that for years, though. Every fan theory about Arceus ever has been about how the damn thing is hand shaped and the Pokedex talks about it having a thousand arms. I'm just glad they confirmed it.
Izanagi doesn't really flow since there isn't an Izanami and between Dialga/Palkia/Giratina it isn't a clean mapping to Susanoo/ Amaterasu/ Tsukuyomi.
I think the odd creation story of making those who dictate the mechanics of the universe first instead of easier to understand ideas like "Earth" or "Sky" is meant to make Pokemon's mythology not resemble ones from Earth. Or gamedevs being cheeky and applying how making a game works in the abstract.
Arceus creates literal deities when someone politely asks him to. All the Pokémon responsible for the various regional gimmicks are probably different aspects of Arceus in the same way that dialga and palkia are aspects of Arceus but are still free willed and independent.
I wonder if these dlc paradoxmon would be the first to have tripple typyings
This game is literally that fricking Spiderman comic where the dinosaur man says he doesn't ant to cure cancer he wants to make dinosaurs.
Except you have a woman who wants to make dinosaurs and a guy who wants to make robots because their parents didn't fricking monitor their media consumption as kids. The fricking infinite power to manifest dreams into reality and it's given to schizos.
So what's in it for the sleeping god to grant wishes? Or does its objective and Sada's/Turo's just happen to align?
If I had to guess, it's probably to replace natural life with its own artificial creations.
>Sada dies at the hands of Koraidon
>AI Sada explains that the paradoxes have some sort of primal energy that will ruin the ecosystem
>All the paradoxes are highly aggressive compared to their natural counterparts
Just a guess. This sort of motivation fits in with the Lovecraftian themes that the lore is building to, it'd be like a Demiurge.
Them being a hazard to the ecosystem also ties it neatly to Zygarde, in addition to both Zygarde and the sleeping god sharing hexagons in their designs. In other words, Game Freak is definitely not going to do anything cool with all of this.
Maybe. But then if this is a god working with dreams it could be that it feasts on the dreams and desires Like a corrupted wish granter demon. It needs to keep everyone trapped in its illusion. They're like cells to a battery. Satisfying them creates the energy it then uses to spread its influence outwards. It creates intrigue to draw people in and then it keeps them nearby. It keeps them talking about its creations which in turn gives it power. The power of belief makes it real. Makes its creations real. It destabilises and drives out other simpler forms of life that can threaten it. Humans and Pokemon it can manipulate because they have sentient thought.
Yes belief. Belief I reckon is the overall theme here. Belief in a system too.
So has anyone gotten Miraidon's dex entry in Scarlet? Did a Cyclizar bang a robot in that timeline?
It only says Miraidon is a strange creature they know nothing about
>the whole thing is a honey trap to lure in people towards the sleeping pokemon
Makes sense, the original point of the expedition was to find the rumored treasure. It was ultimately motivated by the king's greed. Which also loosely connects the Paradox Pokemon to the four peril Pokemon.
You could even argue that the reason treasures started appearing down there at all is because so many people started going down there to find them that the Egg started making them appear because it kept getting whiffs of peoples dreams and desires
Literally Made in Abyss.
Paradox Mismagius
>Actual fricking kino story
>that involves lots of human incompetence and shady dealings (the game is set in fictional Spain)
>plus dreamlike pokemon that shouldn't exist
That's so fricking cool.
If only everything else was as cool.
>Shady Dealings
Where?
Wait Quick question: If that time machine wasn't real and was just created by Disk-kun, then where did Sada/Turo go at the end of the game? Did they just float up into hell or something
They returned to the dreamer that spawned them
He's in the game?
Back to Dream Zanarkand.
If she actually went somewhere she would still be confined to Area Zero and not have any adventures
They went to HFIL
>play "Pokemon Adventures in Spain 🙂 "
>you are groomed by a schizo battle maniac and fight corrupt bullies while you help the abandoned child of a psycho who ventured into the giant crater where an eldritch abommination lives and is slowly replacing reality with dreams come to life, starting with the professor itself which you meet as an artificial intelligence because the real one was dead all this time
Absolute insanity. I love this game.
Regular Pokemon are Imaginary creatures created by some Lovecraftian dream monster named Arceus. What of it?
Third legendary probably will have a lame two word name like the paradoxes
It might be Uneruminamo, as seen in
Uneruminamo is most likely Paradox Suicune's name. Minamo=water's surface and Uneru=rough, twisting
I wonder why they were parsed like that. Ironvaliant, Sandyshocks, Flutterwing, etc. seem straightforward.
It's to call to mind Big Foot, Moth Man, Jersey Devil, and such.
Bigfoot, Mothman. Jersey Devil at least seem legit to write like that.
Huh, didn't consider the naming scheme was evoking cryptids. Still wish they were actual cryptids rather than this, but it's an easier pill to swallow and makes them more interesting this way.
Actual cryptids would just be Pokemon.
Well yeah, considering things like Sableye, but making actual cryptids more like their source material would be sick. Tell me a group of roaming legendaries that are unusually hard to find and catch, all based on shit like the Van Meter Monster and whatnot, wouldn't be sick as hell
Yeah, but they already use cryptids as the basis for normal Pokemon. A lot of our cryptids are bastardized animals (like loveland frog or the skunk ape), so it makes sense the in-universe cryptids are bastardized Pokemon.
My dude what would a Cryptid being the Pokemon world? It would be some weird version of an existing animal. Bigfoot Giant Harry ape, Nessie plesiosaur, Jersey Devil Made Up bullshit, Mothman owl
It's actually foreshadowing in a sense. They're not called "paradox (pokemon name)" because they aren't actually that pokemon. They're dreams and wishes clad in the form of a pokemon, but they aren't real. Therefore it makes more sense to give them nicknames because whatever they are, they sure as hell aren't a species of pokemon.
Paradox Pokemon were a REALLY clever way to incorporate the idea of cryptids into Pokemon: Something so out there that it's considered crazy talk even in a world where people have dogfights with literal gods. Plus they leave just enough information for kids on the playground to argue over whether they actually exist.
Arceus
>creator of all things, can do whatever it wants
Jirachi
>lesser being, can grant any wish within the bounds of reality
3rd legendary
>can bring thoughts and concepts and make them reality
The time machine is legit, and the pokemon are from a past and future that exist, but are not ours. It's doing exactly what it was made to do, but it's doing it from a timeline created specifically by this pokemon, and not ours.
That quite literally doesn't matter at all. Donphan has never been a Great Tusk, if the third legendary needs to make up a fake universe where Great Tusk eventually evolves into Donphan (and then into Iron Tread) the pokemon is still fake.
The only change this would present is the might of the third legendary (manifesting here a life-form at a time vs creating an entire world and sending a life-from from there here)
It partially depends on what we consider the exact desire of the professorsand the powers of the Pokémon to be. It's said that the professors wanted Pokémon from the past/future to live alongside those of the present, but in reality they just wanted the specific Pokémon from the Scarlet/Violet book and possibly their OCs. Time travel could indeed be possible if the 3d legendary can dream up an entire timeline to will these creatures in existence, otherwise the time machine seems a little exsessive, as it could just spawn them in. Of course, Sada/Turo might never have comprehended it to be possible to have these creatures without a time machine in the first place and so it was a neccesary step to fulfill their wish, but even in that case time travel is not required, just the idea that it happened.
Maybe I'm wrong but Isn't sound like the plot for the 3rd movie?
>inb4 Arven wishes to have his mother/father back and it "returns" as the beast/musketeer hybrid in the DLC
To be fair, her dad totally looked like a human version of Entei. The Unown weren't even all that wrong.
Asked this in the last lore thread but I’ll drop it again here: what names do you like for the paradox legendary fusions? I like the idea that they’d incorporate the unofficial names of their respective trios.
>???? Beast
>Iron Justice
Sacred Beast maybe
PART 1
200 years ago Heath and his team went down to the Great Crater of Paldea and started seeing all these wild paradox mons. They recorded them in the Scarlet/Violet book and initially when they brought it up people were flipping out and the book was treated as a seminal work.
However, as the years pass, people think the book is a hoax due to them being unable to believe that shit and a lack of concrete evidence. It eventually is treated as shlock and parroted in shit like the Occultism magazines we see in the academy.
Then 10 years ago Sada/Turo discover how to bring tera pokemon to the surface and are able to establish a lab in Area 0. They then basically abandon the surface and Arven in order to try and make a time machine, inspired by the writings of the Scarlet/Violet book. At this time they also create an AI clone of themselves as they are unable to do all the work they want in the time they have.
They build a "time machine" that then goes haywire and begins to bring pokemon from the past or future into the present. They are unable to figure out how to shut this down. At this point the real Professor has already been killed in an explosion and the AI is unable to take direct action against the time machine to stop it from spawning pokemon and potentially threatening Paldea.
However in the post game an interesting point is made by Arven, if the Paradox pokemon were being brought to the present by the time machine, how were Heath and his team able to encounter them. Its at this point we also see the 3rd tera legend in the Arven post game event, described as a disk shaped crystalline lifeform. We are unsure if the lifeform is even alive or a pokemon.
No they would never allow it. This is too powerful. I think it connects to alternative realties but also the past /future
PART 2
Thus the theory then is that this pokemon is like Azathoth, a dreaming pokemon that is able to bring fervent wishes to life subconsciously. Thus there was never any time machine, but rather Sada and Turo's intense desire to see the pokemon they dreamed of from the book, to the point that they were willing to abandon their child for it, was strong enough that this creature created these paradox pokemon form them, and potentially even enabled the time machine to exist(whether or not it was actually functioning due to the pokemon's abilities is unknown)
>Azathoth
>Project AZOTH
Bravo GF
FRICK. I didn't even REMEMBER that shit.
"PROJECT AZOTH File No. 1 The goal of Project AZOTH is to return the world—return everything—to the beginning. In order to further the project, we must proceed with research on [Groudon's Primal Reversion/Kyogre's Primal Reversion]. Primal Reversion is a potential of Pokémon Evolution, a potential different from Mega Evolution. Mega Evolution is made possible by the energy of people and Pokémon. Primal Reversion is made possible by natural energy. In Primal Reversion, [Groudon/Kyogre] absorbs natural energy into its body, thereby increasing its power dramatically. Both states significantly enhance Pokémon's power: the difference lies in the source of the required energy."
"PROJECT AZOTH File No. 2 We intend to analyze the power of the ultimate weapon used in Kalos 3,000 years ago and work on the development of a drill weapon utilizing the technology. The Seafloor Cavern is sealed by the power of a Legendary Pokémon. The only way to gain access to the cavern is to break the seal with power that exceeds that of the Pokémon. According to the report from the Petalburg recon team, Devon Corporation holds the secret of the technology of the ultimate weapon. We will dedicate all our resources to obtain this technology."
If this shit is totally a result of Az's weapon (like people have been speculating) there is 100% a reason for Project Azoth to have something to do with it.
lol, what if Primal Reversion isn't actually Kyogre and Groudon's ancient forms and it's just bullshit Aqua and Magma willed into reality, too?
Maybe this creature is the real reason this timeline continued to thrive where the OG one died off and everything else so far has been misdirection.
All this crazy new stuff can only exist because this creature exists in this timeline.
But then possibly maybe it doesn't. Its implied someone travelled between these timelines before, so perhaps this creature exists in parallel timelines and is influencing events in the one you play. 6 timelines (og timeline pair in the middle, outside that the two new timelines, and outside that these divergent timelines)
Maybe this creature is aware of its existence in all these timelines, and naturally tries to exist in other ones to bolster its power. So its making its way across timelines, making itself exist in each one in chain like a parasite feeding off hosts.
Ultra beasts kind of did the same thing, but with space.
>Mega evolution is the Pokémon wishing it could become even stronger until the point that it manifests a new form
But what if tho
Like if GF even remembers they even wrote AZOTH in the first place.
I wouldn't be surprised if there was like ONE employee on staff willing to work and not say anything until they were allowed to write the scenario for a game. Then they work toward pulling literally everything together across a bunch of the more batshit game stories. Pull XY and ORAS and a bunch of the other crazy storylines all together to try and make something big with it all. All it takes is one driven dude with a dream. Who was the director of XY and who directed VS?
Like, we literally haven't even touched the fact that the weird paradoxes that are all three members of a trio fused into one IN A GENERATION LINED UP FOR REMAKES OF BLACK AND WHITE means we might actually get a shot at the fricking ORIGINAL DRAGON finally.
>Sinnoh remake that got outsourced didn’t have its generation’s gimmick
>Sinnoh re-imagining made in-house ALSO didn’t have its generation’s gimmick
I wouldn’t get my hopes up. Although an ancient form of the OG Dragon makes way more sense then the legendary beasts considering we already know the beasts used to all be the same Pokémon.
What was Sinnoh's gimmick? The watch thing?
No, I meant that they were Gen 8 games without Dynamaxing. If we do get Unova remakes this generation I doubt they’ll have Terastallizing or Paradoxes.
BDSP cannot interact with Sword and Shield. They are not Gen 8 games.
Don't be moronic, of course they are.
By that token, we wouldn't get the original dragon, we'd get a Paradox Kyurem that's a patchwork fusion of the three dragons.
>Paradox Kyurem that's a patchwork fusion of the three dragons.
This is also cool. I also want a fusion of Dialga&Palkia and the legendary birds if possible
>Dialga+Palkia+Giratina
>Changes to its origin forme
What would it even be?
>What would it even be?
A man
Arceus
>Arceus was a Paradox all along
The final nail in the coffin for Pokemon religion.
12-legged dragon with many body segments. Iridescent looking.
Not necessarily, as Paradox Suicune/Paradox Virizion are both fan monickers and aren't actually paradox forms of "just" Suicune/Virizion
Not to mention ancient paradox suicune. Could be a hint of a new legends game featuring johto?
This is a total pipe dream but I really hope they include Legends Arceus stuff into the DLC, especially Volo.
I can imagine him stealing the 3rd legendary before the player can and wanting to use it to create a path to the Hall of Origin or something
It's not gonna happen but I wanna hope
as much as i want to see volo again, i worry about introducing past characters into the 3D SV environment just because the style is so different
I think Volo’s defeat set him up perfectly for a return. It’s not a matter of if he’s coming back, but when. He said he doesn’t care if it takes him centuries to reach Arceus, so either he was born immortal (like Cogita is) or Arceus took his words to heart and cursed him with immortality. I would guess it’s the latter because the implication that Cynthia’s entire bloodline is immortal is… questionable to say the least
>born immortal (like Cogita is)
I don't remember that part
Cogita is the author of the verses you find around the region. She basically outlived her people.
>SwSh lore
>Huhu, big space hand thingy make big stuff
>SV lore
>Literal massive Lovecraftian Eldritch horror manifesting people's dreams into reality
Wew
So Arven was born inside Area Zero, right?
I don't think so, prof probably left everything behind to go to Area Zero. It sounds too dangerous and separated from civilization to have a family there.
The professor is crazy enough to do it, plus it would make sense considering Game Freak is just stealing from Made in Abyss here.
Here's a new idea: what if the third legendary is actually Arven's real parent, and Arven was an artificial human? Perhaps Sada and Turo found baby Arven and assumed he was abandoned, only to have Eldritch Tera-Parent sick its Paradox Pokémon on them. Turo/Sada dies, leading Sada/Turo to discover the Scarlet/Violet book for research and revenge.
The reason the Paradox Pokémon are so hostile? It's child was basically taken from Eldritch Tera-Parent. The reason it's current creations can't leave Area Zero currently? It doesn't want anything else taken away from it like Arven was. Finally, the actions of AI Sada/Turo was Eldritch Tera-Parent's internal struggle because it doesn't actually want to harm Arven but can't control its creation's destructive tendencies.
tl;dr summary: Arven is an artificial human created by third legendary that Sada and Turo stole, and the legendary got pissed enough to kill them both (at separate times) and started to hate the outside world. However, when it's creations are finally faced with Arven, third legendary is conflicted between its anger and its love for Arven, which is reflected in AI Sada/Turo's actions.
Man, imagine how Arven would feel after finding out he might not even be a real human.
Wow they actually managed to make the gimmick into something meaningful.
Shame it's all gonna be thrown away again by next gen's time.
Tera may suck but this lore's sound.
They should've made the gimmick being the OG mons turning into the Paradoxmons like if they were not-Megas instead.
This kusoge should've just not cared about the Champion or Penny crap and gone ultra hard on this and this alone.
>dlc comes out
>it's revealed that the professor was never actually dead but went insane with the power that the third legend could grant them, causing their ai construct to trap them in the past/future using the time machine
>the dlc antagonist attempts to use the machine to achieve unlimited power but accidentally brings the professor and the third legend to the present day
>"True Sada/Turo would like to battle!"
That shit gave me chills, fuuuuck
>history and science is made up
what did game freak meme by this
that living solely in the present is the only option of course
> Paradox Pokemon are Imaginary creatures created by some Lovecraftian dream monster
Is kinda remind me the way Meta Groudon was created and look like hell demon
>Disk Pokemon that creates Monsters from nothing
Wait a minute...
I still don't get how exactly the machine ended up getting shut down at the end of it all.
>I can't shut down the machine because I'm AI!
>Defeat the AI
>Now that you beat me I can throw myself into the machine and ??? now it has shut down!
Since it was connected to Area Zero maybe it needs the machine to exist? It was literally created for the machine, so I guess shutting it down means disappearing. You beat it so it admits defeat and comes back to where it came from, shuts down the machine and stops existing.
I think it's something like this:
When you insert the book in the machine, the shut down program starts, but the AI has a program that prevents such a thing.
They first go into battle mode, when defeated they realize they will keep the machine going on as long as they are around, so they frick off into the past/future or whatever shit is actually going on.
Without the AI running whatever code was installed into it, the machine finishes the shut down process
If it's not a Lovecraft monster, I hope it's somehow Yaldabaoth for some weird as frick mental gymnastic reason. Like, the imagery is sort of spot on, the idea that it can take dreams and make them reality sort of fits. It's not an impossible alternative take.
Man I can't wait for the DLC where I can catch this eldritch beast in a pokeball and use it for battle
Isn't that basically eternatus
Did Game Freak hire real JRPG writers for the first time or is this all just coming out of your guy's asses?
I don't want to hype myself up only for future content only for it to be like "lol it was actually a time machine, here's some unrelated legendary that's basically Zygarde 2.0 with no lore"
To be fair the story is complete ass until you get to the Area Zero story
Everything else is a 2/10 and Area Zerp spikes to a 9
>To be fair the story is complete ass until you get to the Area Zero story
This opinion is kinda common and I have no idea why. It's not perfect but I never got the impression it was outright shit while playing before I got to Area 0, just understated as a result of the Open World dictating you don't have the brown friendly rival shoved down your throat every half hour this time.
>Nemona plot is painfully generic, but that's sort of the point
>Penny plot is the most complex, but isn't all that special and the explanation behind the entire reason said plot is happening isn't that great.
>Arven plot is the best, but is also short, fairly simple and only gets resolved in the Area Zero plot
The fact that all three are clearly seperated also means that it obviously doesn't really present a cohesive story as a whole and the way the three plotlines tie together is a little contrived (but not the worst route they could've chosen either)
its probably the second one, but a man can only hope and be disapointed in the end
I mean, everything that helps this theory is in this thread
It's really possible they didn't plan any of this shit and it's just a coincidence tho
There's definitely too much evidence to just be a coincidence, especially since it appears in multiple translations (the Chinese translation is said to be more overt). There's no way it wasn't planned at one point and if it isn't actually true it most likely means it was rewritten and insufficiently replaced in a late stage of development. The details are however subtle enough that they could just ignore it later on without casuals getting confused if simple time travel is what they want it to be for the DLC. The fact that they bothered to include information on the third legendary at all however suggests otherwise.
This is definitely a part of the game lore as it is, but do prepare for disappointment since GF isn't really known for following through. This wouldn't be the first time where the franchoise seems to be building up to something only to have it go completely ignored forevermore during the next installment.
The difference here is that there's a LOT of things suddenly referencing already established but never truly resolved lore and themes directly. We never got Zygarde's story and reason to exist in a mainline game, but now there's suddenly a very real threat to the ecosystem spawned by a Pokemon that shares the same aesthetic motif as Zygarde, these being hexagons, in a region based on Spain which borders the country Kalos was based on. Plus the crystalline flower shape of the Ultimate Weapon not being unlike Tera crystals, it being called the 'poisonous flower' Glimmora being a Rock/Poison type that's noted to look like Tera crystals and a flower. Area Zero likely being the impact site of the Ultimate Weapon too.
AND the fact that the northeastern part of the region is blacked out like Area Zero is. Is any reference made to that in-game or is that just GF’s way of saying “frick you buy the DLC lol”
In-game it's just a big chunk of land you cannot access and there's nothing suggesting it's anything but there so Paldea is not an island because Spain isn't either.
the northeast of paldea may not be an island but the southwest of Kalos is, so they aren't connected physically
It's not unthinkable that they're connected at the mountainous area in north-eastern Paldea and southern Kalos.
Kalos war and huge cannon machine - 3000 years ago
Paldean country formation - 2000 years ago
Weird blacked ou t part of map
all pieces are coming together
You forgot to mention that SV references Mega evolution for the first time since 2018 with Roaring Moon's pokedex entry.
I've not seen the full book (of either version) but are Koraidon and Miraidon there? Because I'm wondering where they really came from, they aren't as cryptid as the others (they even have real species names, not descriptions), are full fledged legendaries, are stronger and have an ability that activates the other paradoxes, so what makes them so special? Were they envisioned by Sada and Turo and added to the book by them, or are they depicted as the greatest prehistoric/futuristic creature in each book and that's why they are the top dogs?
The second thing. The one on the book’s cover is stated to be a creature from legend, while the opposite version’s legendary is brushed off as “a variant of Cyclizar from another time”
I guess they have the biggest myths because Cyclizar is an everyday transport for people in Paldea. Kinda like if schizos in Galar believed into a pure white Corviknight which covers the entire sun with its wings or something like that
I have 3 questions for all the anons in this thread:
First, the ancient paradox pokemons are supposed to be stand-in for cryptids like living dinosaurs and bigfoot, then what are the future paradox pokemons supposed to be stand-in for?
Secondly, what do you think about the plot of this game? How good is it? Do you enjoyed it?
Lastly, what do you think about the concept of paradox pokemons in general. I believe that Sun&Moon have a similar concept in the Ultrabeast, do you prefer Ultrabeasts more or do you like the Paradox more? Personally I like the paradox much better
>then what are the future paradox pokemons supposed to be stand-in for?
Alien stuff, conspiracies and blablabla. Have you watched Ancient Aliens?
>Alien
I didn’t know the aliens are all made of metal. But isn’t those paradox called future paradox? How do aliens and future mons related to each other?
Read a bit of
, dear anon. You'll get the idea.
kek the future paradox mons are all schizo rants made real
You'll only stop calling whatever you don't want to learn about in detail schizo when it becomes mainstream, won't you normalBlack person. Like UFO's becoming accepted in the news so suddenly everyone accepts it.
exactly schizo tier like that, well done anon!
Sounds like you know I'm right. Run back to your Black personcattle herd
and you should hurry to the pharmacy, since your pills are runnig out
>UFO's becoming accepted in the news
"UFO" quite literally just means "we don't know what this flying thing is"
Thank you for the technical definition that ignores the reality that the idea of spotting ET's and advanced tech isn't becoming accepted because of bow tied they are to UFO's.
Use precise language, and I won't get uppity. Accept transaction?
Nah I think I said it in pretty normal terms
Normal people misspeak often. Normality isn't a very admirable goal for which to strive.
Yes we know you have autism no need to keep demonsteating that
not that anon but you sure are proving your own autism in your posts
>Iron Valiant is just some mad scientist's sexbot gone Terminator
Kino
1. Alien sightings think UFOs and such.
2. The end is probably the best plot in a Pokemon game, league route and titan routes are ok. Team star route has bad plot. FRICK PENNY.
3. I like both UBs and Paradoxes, no clear preference really.
>First, the ancient paradox pokemons are supposed to be stand-in for cryptids like living dinosaurs and bigfoot, then what are the future paradox pokemons supposed to be stand-in for?
UFO sightings and the like.
>Secondly, what do you think about the plot of this game? How good is it? Do you enjoyed it?
The plot is mediocre and forgettable until the last 2~ hours of the game, at which point it becomes genuinely intriguing and actually made me excited for the inevitable DLC
>Lastly, what do you think about the concept of paradox pokemons in general. I believe that Sun&Moon have a similar concept in the Ultrabeast, do you prefer Ultrabeasts more or do you like the Paradox more? Personally I like the paradox much better
Same here. Ultra Beasts were kind of just there in terms of worldbuilding and stuff, more like set pieces than intriguing lore. Paradoxes are sick as shit and have tons of lore to speculate about, and the greater connection to the third legendary makes them better written overall imo
>then what are the future paradox pokemons supposed to be stand-in for?
X-files type stuff that UFO conspiracy nuts believe in. Alien superweapons that crashlanded on Earth, celebrities being replaced with robot duplicates, secret shit the government is building in Area 51, ect. I assume they went with robots in particular because it's easier to connect to the "future" motif than aliens.
Iron Hands' dex entry is a reference to "celebrity is actually a robot" shit
>1
Sci-fi shit and alien stuff. One entry is literally "the result of Hydreigon falling in love with a robot" like P-Mongus's entry in the opposite game is "the mix of a fungus and a dinosaur".
>2
Best story in a Pokemon game, I enjoyed it a lot.
>3
UBs are better in some ways but I also prefer Paradoxes. Specially since the "hidden" lore of paradoxes is way more complex while it's the opposite for the UBs
>paradoxes are past/future mons... actually they are fantasy beings that came to reality by the power of a mysterious being the dwells the depths of Paldea
>Ultra Beasts are bizarre creatures that don't fit the Pokemon criteria and come to us from wormholes... actually they are just pokemon from weird timelines and just happen to fall into a wormhole.
Did the autist who keeps insisting it's all just time travel and there's no such thing as imagination Pokemon finally frick off?
Now I feel bad for not getting any of this shit while playing...
The main reason you guys think this was actually a dream machine was because of the third legendary, right?
I really think the Pokedex explaining the origins of the Paradox designs being from scifi and paranormal magazines is the smoking gun for it all.
The entry in the book for the paradox legendary beast flat out states that it is bullshit.
Sada/Turo also says they don't exactly know where the mons are being pulled from.
When was the last time anons work up about the plot of a Pokémon game like this?
Are people excited of the plot of Sun&Moon and SwSh?
>Sun&Moon
Yeah, at least until the games came out
>SwSh
Haha no.
>Yeah, at least until the games came out
Between this and Sun&Moon, which one do you prefer anon?
SV seems to deliver more initially. But shall we take care, as people who're consuming the plot, to not become Sada/Turo ourselves. Fooled.
Also, Flutter Mane is a predodactl.
Flutter Mane is the Ghost of an Archeops.
Anon, what do you think a pterasaur is?
Those are Aerodactyl.
Pterosaurs aren't dinosaurs, they're flying reptiles, Archeopteryx is a dinosaur. Two completely different things.
>Are people excited of the plot of Sun&Moon
The potential for alien pokemon from different planets and dimensions was a cool concept that was squandered, unfortunately. Sun Moon really needed a Black/White 2-like sequel.
>SwSh
frick no, lmao
>a cool concept that was squandered
I see, what do you hate about it anon? I don’t really see the problem with it that much
>conspiracy theories surrounding SM's plot
Well, can you tell me some then?
The speculation got absolutely wild.
Ok, so they are like the Tao trio, that they are part of the same pokemon? I don’t see how it is considered weird.
>gen 6
>project azoth
>gen 7
>legendaries come from the book of azoth
>gen 8
>third legendary is azathoth
This illustration makes me think Demiurge themed.
Snake with a mane-like part around the head said to shine a lot, seems to be breathing fire. And then there's the power of "fake" creation since they're limited to a certain area.
>I guess kinda. But demiurges are often servants of a greater power.
Not really. Demiurges are usually bellow a greater power, but they believe they're at the top.
NTA, but having creatures from different dimensions was the perfect setup to have some adventures in their realms but we got tiny (but cool themed) hallways instead. The worst offender is the city in another dimension being literally (literal) just a corridor.
All of that was USUM though. In SM we just visited Nihilego's world.
SM and USUM are so similar to each other that I cannot consider them different games. Worst rip-off 'third version' in the series.
>ORAS mentioned project AZOTH
>evil team is named Aether
>Solageo's dex entry references "the lion that devours the sun", a creature from alchemist lore
/vp/ went absolutely wild in the months leading up to SM's release. Everything from the starters corresponding to the three base elements to humans being ultra beasts in disguise.
>humans being ultra beasts in disguise
The design connections between Guzma and Xurkitree, and Lusamine and Pheromosa, are undeniable and I am STILL mad that was never elaborated on.
It was. Lusamine was obsessed with Ultra Beasts, so she dressed herself and Lillie up like them. Guzma's resemblance to Xurkitree is coincidence, but it's why she took a liking to him.
I wonder why they went with the pattern they did for the others. Lillie/Nihilego is obvious and tied to the plot, but you don't even see Pheromosa in Sun version which is strange for the main villain's cosplay. Gets worse in the Ultra versions where Lusamine goes to "frick Necrozma" as her MO but wears the same clothes.
>I see, what do you hate about it anon?
The game hyped itself around aliens from other planets, only for the alien thing to be a footnote and the plot was just mainly about a psychopathic mom and her stupid daughter. Once you beat psycho mom, the game just continues like every other game. Bad guy gone, walk down some hallways, beat the league, you win, yippee.
I expected the plot to be about jumping between dimensions throughout the story with the ultra beasts being evil invaders you had to stop. That would've been great.
You should have seen a lot of the conspiracy theories surrounding SM's plot back in the day. (to this day, I still believe the legendary trio have an alchemy motif)
>I still believe the legendary trio have an alchemy motif)
Because they literally have, duh. It just didn't amount to anything in particular, like how the Kalos trio is norse mythology.
No, it represents the transmutation of the philosopher stone. A body where soul and spirit are poured into a complete perfect thing, that's why the prism pokemon devours the sun and moon pokemon to become gold (Ultra Necrozma)
>No, it represents the transmutation of the philosopher stone. A body where soul and spirit are poured into a complete perfect thing, that's why the prism pokemon devours the sun and moon pokemon to become gold (Ultra Necrozma)
There's some other stuff too, like how the sun/moon/earth are each tied to one of the three goals of alchemy. The sun is "turn lead to gold", which is why Solageo is metal. The moon is "bring life to the unliving", which is why Lunala is a skeletal ghost. The earth (corpus) is "create the philosopher's stone", which is why it's made of crystal (aether was a black substance light was said to pass through and space was made of it. Supposedly, obtaining this element was important because the philosopher's stone was made out of it).
The base game of SwSh was just sports autism, I only remember people getting excited at the DLC with it making reference to three previous Champions (Peony, Mustard, Opal’s mother) and the fact that Calyrex was present during the Darkest Day and has its own Dynamax clouds that are blue instead of red.
SM was full of speculation about the UBs and Ultra Space and GF paid it off with hallways.
Unova had its own lore but very little in the way of mystery, so there wasn't that much to talk about. Especially early on it was seen as a reboot of the existing canon. Kalos had a bit more to work with, and when Hoenn came around it became clear that GF put in effort to connect the two games, so even though Gen 6 wasn't that great it was probably the generation that had the most lore discussion. When Sun/Moon were announced people really latched on to the phrase "it all comes together" and during its honeymoon phase it reached a climax before faltering. Some revival came with USUM and the Ultra Space stuff, but that was about it. Galar sparked no discussion because it just wasn't interesting. This is probably the most discussion on lore there has been since ORAS/SM prerelease.
I remember when people were theorizing that Aether Foundation was actually composed of Ultra Beasts based on their appearances which would have been really neat but overall went unexplored. Plus I remember Type: Null really throwing people for a loop.
The Type:Null just being given to you in SwSh with the worst imaginable reasoning behind it really cemented how awful those games were in terms of world building and already established lore.
Character driven stuff in Pokémon games imo ranges from inoffensive to stupid but I genuinely don’t understand why the conclusion of SWSH was made to be an energy crisis. It doesn’t mesh well with the sports competition motifs of the rest of the game.
>those prerelease theories on Rose rigging the competition in favor of Leon
I'm not that into the whole sports competition thing they had going on but even that would've made for a better plot.
I will die convinced that they last minute shifted away from that plot line and the need to patch that up is why SM is so unfinished. The fact that USUM made further changes to the story just cements it to me.
There are weird things like Guzzlord's model sheet having SUMO STAMP that are consistent with something changing in development, but it is unlikely for earlier plans to be known.
After what happened with gen 7 I'm not holding my breath. That had the set up to be great and it ended up just being a big fat wet fart.
how can you read the scarlet book if professor took it with her
I'm pretty sure there are multiple copies of the Scarlet/Violet books
The Scarlet/Violet book the professor held is just one of many mass produced copies. The only unique thing about that specific copy was that it's capable of shutting down the 'time machine'.
ah okay thanks for clearing that up, also where is Arven in the postgame? I'd like to read the book for myself
There are multiples scarlet books, it's a published book with the entries of an expedition team and anyone can get one, Sada was just obsessed with it since she was a child. Same with violet book and Turo in the opposite version of the story.
>the entries of an expedition team
So basically it’s like The lost world& Journey to the center of the Earth shit, then what the Violet book is supposed to be like?
Both are fanfiction produced by a tool in what's likely a money laundering scheme, but the professor was so taken by it that they went down into Area Zero themselves and made contact with a being that's capable of granting their wish for the fake OC mons to be real.
>the professor was so taken by it
>professors are morons
Kek, the frick?
They are just a bit too obsessed to see what's going on.
We haven't seen most of Southern Kalos aside from possibly Kiloude. Not sure where you're getting that it's not land.
They were children too at some point and built their career on their love for the fantasy they enjoyed in their youth. It was only chance that they encountered something that could give life to a childhood dream for real. It's unlikely they went into Area Zero for research fully expecting to run into the creatures described in the books.
They are the same except they aren't supposed to be fiction, there was a real expedition in unknown parts of the region and the members claim to have seen those prehistoric/futuristic beasts. For the common public it's a famous bunch of horseshit of guys who claim cryptid stuff is real, and the professor believed it so badly it made it real.
There's a copy of the scarlet book on a small bookshelf right of the academy entrance.
Wtf
I’m not sure how I feel about this. I liked the idea of real present/future Pokémon but this is also kinda based
So then where the hell does the Ai professor disappear to in the end?
>came from professor's wishes to have the machine functioning
>you force it to shut it down and disappears
It's "dead", I guess.
They will come back as part of the third legendary, just like lusamine fused with a UB
It looked like there was a shephereical being inside the machine so probably back to the third legend
>shephereical
how do you frick up a word this badly
t.
Gut inflammation which then causes neuro inflammation probably caused your autism. There are diets such as the GAPS diet that can potentially help you. Please check them out, thanks.
That is not how ASD works.
relax senpai i'm esl too, I just thought it was funny
i googled shephereical and it yielded 0 results, that's how bad you fricked it up
I would say to live out its (Sada/Turo's) dream in an alternate reality created by the legendary, but I'm not sure if an AI can get their wish granted by the legendary because it's not a person so perhaps it just disappeared to non-existance.
Thanks anons for answering my questions. Personally I think the Paradox shit is the best thing they have made since gen 3. Forgive me but I can’t like gen 4 with all the space&time shits since it make the setting way smaller with its creation plot
Hear me out, okay. A thousand years ago: Az, ancient king of Kalos, built a huge Ultimate Weapon. The Weapon did two things, it brought Pokemon back to life (and made Az immortal) and it fired a big frick off beam of death at the country Az was currently waging war against. The use of the weapon also created Mega Stone. Mega Stones were originally evolution stones that were exposed to the weapons power and were twisted into new forms that could channel energy and evolved Pokemon in new ways. Also, in the (roughly) modern era, Teams Aqua and Magma both researched the Weapon and found that they could use it and reproduce its effects using "natural energy". They did so to alter the Orbs used to wake up Kogre and Groudon. Inadvertently creating Primal Revision. So far, this is all canon. I'm not saying anything new or stretching anything too far or off meaning.
Right, so Az hit something with his weapon. That something was Paldea. And in that act he created the Zero Area (probably killed everyone, too). And as a reaction to this, his Floette left and he became an immortal wanderer. Forever trying to absolve himself of his sins. Eventually, he traveled to Hoenn and planted some trees and left big foot prints. That's how Magma and Aqua knew about shit. Again, this is all mostly in line with normal lore. BUT I'M NOT DONE YET!
Az's weapon created the energy that formed the Megastones in Kalos, BUT ALSO created an energy that formed Tera Orbs in Paldea. Z-Crystals might be involved? The crystal flower pokemon in the crater have leaves made of the same material that Tera power is formed from. And they're shaped like the Ultimate Weapon. This isn't a coincidence. The flower Pokemon down there are like Sunflowers and Radiation, they're absorbing the power of the weapon and pushing it out into the surrounding area. They're purifying the area. The form they take is just the best form for moving that power around. They're also the reason the area isn't toxic.
I WANT TO BELIEVE
BUT HEAR ME OUT. That's not the end of it. Az HIT SOMETHING. He had to have been aiming for something, right. Either he hit something by accident or he hit what he was aiming for. The thing in the crater is what he hit. Either Ancient Paldea was going to use it as a weapon and he knew it was unstoppable or he hit it completely by accident because it was already sleeping there. I guess there's a none zero chance the weapon created whatever he hit? But that would be absolutely wild. No matter what, the things was hit or created and went the frick to sleep. The purification of the region has finally made it more able to move around. It used to have to wait for people to come to it, but it's growing closer and closer to being able to go to people, now. This thing, whatever it is, is all hopped up on Az radiation and can pull shit out of peoples imaginations. It's literally a monster able to bring shit into reality on a whim from the realm of the mind. It's intelligent, it's evil, and it's waking up bit by bit. It's basically Lovecraft as frick.
Whatever the frick this thing is, it's got enough Weapon radiation in it to create new Pokemon out of thin air. That's at or beyond Arceus in terms of power. The fact that Arceus hasn't done anything might mean it can't here.
And that weapon radiation it's running on? Or made of?? It MADE Mega Evolution and Primal Revision and Tera Shit. Not only does this mean there's a chance Mega Evolution and Primal Revision ARE FORMS OF PARADOX SHIT (possibly) it also means this thing is waking up, because the crater is coming alive anew, and it's getting ready to leave. Potentially. Something with the power to do that is going to be a real punch in the dick for the world.
If they take this chance to finally do justice to XY's wasted lore I'll forever suck paldea's wiener
Zero expectations of it happening though
anon i appreciate you and your theories very much but now i'm worried what they do won't be as good as this
And then it'll be caught by an eight year old and sit in UU for two gens.
Realistically, l think it won't be actively "evil" just unconcerned with the world.
>AZ
>AZOTH
>AZATOTH
AAAAAAAAAA IT'S ALL CONNECTED
What if the third legendary was actually born from az's wish to stop the war?
There's a non zero chance ON TOP of all of this, that Eternatus might actually be involved, too. I know this one is a stretch, though. Eternatus came to the world something like 20,000 prior to the modern era and slept under Galar. It's EXPLICITLY extraterrestrial, too. And it's body gives off constant energy that created the Dynamax phenomena and eventually the Gigantamaxes. Gigatamax is really sketchy to begin with, and it makes me wonder if it's supposed to be similar to Paradox shit and Mega Evolution? It's...suspicious. It also used to encase itself in a weird egg, apparently.
It makes me wonder if we should all stop and take inventory of all the alien Pokemon and see if this shit might all be connected.
A Lovecraftian monster Pokemon might be a really intense extraterrestrial. Like, in the works of Lovecraft Azathoth was the origin of all things. He was the blind, screaming, idiot god of creation. He was something called an "Outer God" specifically. A being from outside our universe who punctured the veil and slipped in (or just created it) then created everything on accident afterward. Specifically it was an alien, though. Sort of. The Great Old Ones (Cthulhu was one of these) were beings from our Universe originally, who were the children of Outer Gods. They existed more on the mental level, sort of being somewhere between thought and physical. Living on dream planes and shit because they were eternally sleeping in the real world until the time was right for them to awaken and end all things.
To add to your rambles Khu did tease -something- coming in regards to AZ Floette. It might be unrelated and they just randomly decide to distribute but if there was a lore link this would be it. AZ's Floette could be retconned to paradox Floette
AZ Floette is not coded in so they would have to add it in through a free patch or DLC before they can distribute it.
>there's an inaccessible land bridge northeast on the Paldea map ingame
>entire southern Kalos is missing
>third legendary shares a hexagon motif of Zygarde
bros...
the DLC is actually what Pokemon Z was suposed to be if it were created
Zygarde bros are we finally going to win??
I don't think that Paldea is that big compared to Kalos (because that would make southern Kalos way too big to resemble France) but thanks for the visualization. Obviously the Iberian region and the France region are in close proximity because all regions canonically are in roughly the same spot as their real-world counterparts.
Looking at how Kalos is verus actual France, Southern Kalos should actually be the majority of Kalos.
The maps weirdly link up completely correctly so i think outside of Kalos being slightly less tall than it should be in its official map its probably the actual proportions.
It looks pretty proportionate on a full version of the map, though thats too big to post here.
Fair enough, I guess the perspective of the Kalos map is throwing me for a loop. It still is such a vast area that I somehow doubt it's all Kalos andso perhaps it's a different region based on southern France; Kiloude is supposedly in souhtern Kalos, but would be north of the center.
I'd love to believe but a lot of people kept saying that galar was gonna be connected to kalos and we got frick all
having said that I'd much prefer to see a second region coming back in this gen rather than in gen 8
This may be wrong since it's been a while since I played XY, but What if azathoth-kun was what revived floette?
https://files.catbox.moe/1bex01.png
Just recalled i can just post a link, here's a comparison.
It's definitely "Southern Kalos" but yeah i wouldn't hold out hope in regards to it doing much with it.
I'd honestly expect it to just erase any chances of that part of southern Kalos showing up in any potential remakes. Maybe we'll get paradox kalos starters or something(Third Legend+Version Paradoxes still leaves one extra "generic trio" and a regional based on SwSh DLC) but i don't think it'll be anything super coherent.
Yeah thats a pretty believable scenario. Just rename the part used despite it being logically a part of "Southern Kalos".
It should be mentioned that the map of Kalos is viewed at an angle whereas the ingame map of Paldea is seen from above, which makes Kalos look smaller.
>I'd honestly expect it to just erase any chances of that part of southern Kalos showing up in any potential remakes.
BUT ANON
WHAT ABOUT THE GERMANY REGION
AND THE ITALY REGION
AND THE SWITZERLAND REGION
WE COULD HAVE THIS SAME DISCUSSION AT LEAST THREE MORE TIMES
Yes. France is a country that has a lot of other nations nearby. You have lots of different places where the culture blends with neighbors for a distinct taste.
Southern Kalos being divided into multiple DLC fodder regions would be pretty amusing thinking on it.
From the least utilized to completely prostituted out.
Wait, can you post a full map of the Paldea region for me, real fast? I have a might need.
what happens when you try to go to the northeast part of the map on border?
You cannot climb the wall / are pushed back. It's all featureless land. If the DLC takes place in an area beyond it, that's likely going to be a boat ride from port or something similar taking you there.
Thing is, they might not be looking for the North east, anyway. The map might be spun. I was hoping to see if there was anything of note (ruins, items, even Pokemon) anywhere around where Kalos and Paldea may have at once point been connected, but it might be hard to figure out WHERE that connection would even be.
I'm not even sure THIS is the right orientation.
Actually, looking at this again and hearing that the area can't be accessed at all. The land bridge is probably still there. It's just covered by the blue line parts of the map. The orientation is presented correctly, I think. I assume it was just destroyed completely, but that area around the "wall" might be of some interest.
The fact that its literally blocked out like Area Zero makes it pretty apparent that the land bridge is there.
Just in purgatory because its for DLC. Its blocked off intentionally.
Anon, this is the only fricking pokemon game where the map does have cardinal directions
My bad, I corrected myself.
I caught it after I said it. Basically, immediately.
I just found it really funny since you'll be seeing an arrow poitning north on the minimap 90% of the total playtime
you are cool anon
Do a deep dive into the Blackguard race in Elder Scrolls. Look at the lore, as far as their beliefs go, and how Hammerfell is structured. Their faith is drawing STRONG parallels with your theory
It's not gonna happen but I hope there's Andorra DLC connecting Kalos and Paldea legends and the Ultimate Weapon war. It would even be a good chance to give Kalos starters the Megas they deserve (and would explain the retcon of Greninja's not!Mega form)
Methinks the legendary is Morpheus
>white flabebe
Explain this. Is it the only area in the game where you can find them?
White Flabebe used to be 1% spawns and only in bushes. It's the rare form basically. Every Floette in the crater is a white one.
>yfw shiny odds in the crater are increased (except for paradoxes)
that's not it's shiny form you moron
>reading comprehension
I'm saying that if they got the lenghts to make the rare Flabebe form the one in the crater because it's what Flabebe entusiasts would wish to find more than any other form it would make sense for pokemon to be shiny more often than usual, since shiny are also on people's wishes
>professor is obsessed with a book depicting fictional monsters said to be found in the middle of the region
>they get so obsessed that their husband/wife leaves them when their son is born
>at the same time they're able to bring from the past/future a mon
Is this the correct order?
I remember that the legendary was with Arvemn as soon as he was born, but the AI was made only after the second professor left
I wonder if they actually leaved because they started seeing something was wrong with area zero
Aerilate, Desolate Land, Primordial Sea and Delta Stream are coded in the game and only found on Megas/Primals. It's not unthinkable that the DLC is Southern Kalos or a smaller mountain region named after the Pyrenees.
>Megas come back in the DLC
Would actually be a really good way to get people to buy it
The twist is that they'll come back as Paradoxes because the current dimension is not the Mega dimension. These Paradoxes will be described in a book thought to be more occult ramblings like the current Paradoxes. Except these are the written fragmented memories of a Faller that came from the Mega dimension with amnesia, so they would in fact be truth. Just not truth in this dimension, hence why they'd be paradoxes since neither the past or future of this dimension have Megas.
>Megas come back as paradoxes
>But they're slightly off because they're not being remembered correctly
>For instance Mega Ampharos will be quadrupedal and pink, and Mega Gengar will be floating and look more like Haunter
Don't think so, salamnce paradox books refers to mega salamance
Can I ask for the reason why anons like Megas that much compared to the other gimmicks? People keep complaining that other gimmicks aren’t as good as megas
They're way cooler than the other gimmicks
it gives the Pokemon a boost in power, diferent abilities and new designs that are cool as frick thats why I like them so much
Distinct forms puts it ahead of Z-Moves and Terastalization for starters.
They look cool and I like Beedril and Ampharos.
They looked the closest to standard Pokemon evolutions compared to the later gimmicks. It's not surprising people would be more attached to them than to just moves (S/N) or weird giant Pokemon with limited movesets (SS) or those Pokemon with filters and hats from SV.
Dynamax sucked conceptually but the designs of most gigas are better than most megas
For various ones that evolved from newly introduced species, they felt like they were designed as those first and even the fully grown versions are incomplete.
I got that feeling from Sandaconda and Centiskorch as well
Because the designs are cool, it helped out a lot of Pokemon that needed it (obvious shilling aside) and nothing else they've tried has topped it since:
Z-Moves are just nukes with funny dances in a game where nuke moves already exist (Fire Blast, Solar Beam, Blizzard, Hyper Beam, V-Create, Explosion, etc.), making them somewhat redundant. It also sucks that certain mons, such as Kommo-o and Ultra Necrozma, were entirely reliant on Z-Moves being a thing, since the former needs it to be competitively viable and the latter needs it just to exist, which sucks because I really fricking love Ultra Necrozma and I hate not being able to use it to soothe Necrozma's constant headaches and bring him temporary peace Plus, it just isn't as charming as Megas overall
Dynamaxing is a combination of Megas and Z-Moves and inherits the best and worst of both. It can be powerful when used correctly but it's restriction of your mon's movepool makes it somewhat uninteresting. The designs for each Dynamax form aren't as good as the Megas (With the sole exception of fat Pikachu, which should've been an alternate form for normal Pikachu exclusive to Gen 1/2 traded Pikachus), and each form only lasting for 3 turns gives them a sense of impermanence that Megas didn't have, despite Megas only lasting until the battle's over. Furthermore, getting the Gigantimax formes was a massive pain in the testicles prior to the Isle of Armor DLC so I never even bothered to find them
Terastallizing is easily the best gimmick they've introduced since Megas: Changing your mon's type in exchange for it having to wear a silly hat all battle is a wonderful trade-off and I hope this carries over to future games (even though I know it won't)
TL;DR, Mega Evolution was a simple, straightforward and very charming gimmick that gave us some great mons to use in battle with cool designs like pic related I miss him so fricking much ;-;
God I hope the DLC doesn't come out and make this shit lame as frick
reminder that the XY starters are in the game for some reason.
not even the Kanto trio besides Charizard are in
It was mentioned before but two Pokemon, one which was Bulbasaur was suppose to be part of a trainer battle but was cut.
I wouldn't take that alone at face value since SWSH has the alolan ones (probbaly just because gen 7 was the previous gen at the time) they may just want to make those mons of the 3DS era avalible since bank might be shutting down
Fricking hell this thread is making me excited for a potential return of Megas and Pokemon Z shenannigans/Kalos lore, frick you anonswith all due respect since I know this will never happen
POKEMON Z IS REEEAAAAAALLLL
CAN WE GET MUCH HIGHER?
For the anon who's reading this in 2023
PUT ME IN THE SCREENCAP
Why did Kalosperm take over the thread?
The lore connections to Zygarde were already there from the beginning. Don't just randomly try to instigate a flame war in the best threads this board has seen in a long time.
Because there's not really anything to talk about concerning the lore of generations 1-5 and 8, and the lore of generation 7 isn't really connected to Paldea. And Kalos likely shares a land border with Paldea and specifically the elusive south; two regions bordering each other over land hasn't been seen since Johto.
People have always been interested ina potential Kalos follow-up since ORAS didn't tie up the story and lore in a satisfying way
>Sada's paradoxes are past themed
>Turbo's paradoxes are future themed
>Heath's paradoxes are amalgamations of legendaries
Is that how it goes?
Looks like that
I'd like it if the DLC introduces Paradox Abilities.
how would they work?
This plot sounds too good to be real. It will probably end up like another TLJ situation where the fans come up with a bunch of theories only to have their expectations subverted by how shit the actual writing is.
I think the imaginary stuff brought to life aspect is probably real. Too much hints towards it
Also it's a free do whatever they want card for designs. Too good of a hook to pass up.
The imagination stuff is 100% real, there are too many discrepancies with AI Sada/Turo versions that are pointed out either by plain text or characters' dialogues.
How do we know the discrepancies aren't caused by translation errors or just bad writing?
Why would something like this constantly referenced through the entire game be translation errors?
Because it's pretty common for the regionalization teams of Nintendo games to frick things up consistently in their translations.
>frick black censoring

What do you think about the final boss team?
Whoops, meant to be a thread not a post here, sorry
I know it was meant as a thread but I think its cool for the ending, it reminds me of PLA as well since you have to beat a team of six then a lengedary mon
ABANDON THE FALSE GOD ARCEUS, WHO LOOKS DOWN ON HIGH WITH CONTEMPT! PRAISE BE UNTO THE DREAMING ONE, THAT WHICH DWELLS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE EARTH! MAY WISHES MADE MANIFEST SWALLOW THIS NIGHTMARE WE CALL EXISTENCE! PRAISE BE UNTO THE DREAMING ONE! PRAISE BE UNTO THE DREAMING ONE! PRAISE BE UNTO THE DREAMING ONE!

Nice idea, but do you really think they'd be willing to write something that would surprise a 5 year old?
>Nice idea, but do you really think they'd be willing to write something that would surprise a 5 year old?
I thought the target demographic was 8-12 year olds as reflected by Ash's age of 10. Did they recently drop their age demographic or something?
Basically anyone that can read is the demographic. And sometimes people who can't read but can learn by playing the game.
Looks like there's more leaks coming in from a JP Twitter Account, I don't know Japanese but there's one Japanese name that isn't in the leak thus far, from Violets Paradox Pokemon - this has made people assume that this is a Paradox Pokemon that'll be released in DLC

Iron Serpent
Winged King is cooler
Do you think Jirachi and Arceus know this is happening and just letting it play out with the other legendaries or are they unaware of whats transpiring?
Arceus exists on a higher state so the actions are not relevant to act upon. Jirachi is unaware.
I wonder if any of the more sentient leveled legendaries would even be concerned with this shit.
I would be tbh
Arceus probably doesn’t see it as a threat, at least not one that can’t be handled by the local kid protagonist. As for Jirachi, for all we know it could be pals with this thing.
The player who might've become best buds with Arceus just so happen to have another trial to encounter and it'll most likely see this new adventure as just that for the player. Jirachi wish making skills isn't even remotely at this level.
