The problem is less the fact of the changes, and more that GGG lied about them and actively withheld them only so they could cheat people into buying timed MTX. This is extremely anti-consumerist.
Loot from monsters has been severely reduced. Some league monsters lost 90% of their IIQ and all their IIR, most lost about 70% IIQ and all their IIR.
Loot from chests and itemized rewards has apparently not been affected.
As a result, you get much less loot overall. The best way to mitigate this is to run Heist all day.

Essentially they have reduced the amount of rares and enemies in general per encounter, but also increased the quality of loot you get in proportion to that. So nothing really has effectively changed on paper, but Breach brains need those 500 item drops per enemy to get their dopamine fix even if mathematically there's no difference.

I really like Wolcen for its quality in game feel, graphics, music and overall lore and aesthetic. It needs better build quality and endgame but it's slowly getting there. I don't play ARPG for grinding rifting endlessly so I can enjoy it's lore and story. Combat feedback feels really good for melee at least. Last Epoch is better in build quality but lacks in everything else. The combat feedback is terrible.

You're going to be bored out of your mind the whole way through. Finished it recently and it has to be one of the dullest ARPGs I've ever played. There's nothing interesting about any of it but there's nothing bad either, it's just aggressively average.

They got rid of reforge keeping pre/suffixes, trashed reforge more likely and made multimod cost divines instead of ex so gearing actually feels hopeless and miserable. I was looking forward to the harvest changes because they it meant you could just map when you were mapping and just craft when you were crafting but they also went and trashed the crafting.
The only plus is that you get more fractured bases thanks to the archnem changes.
