The only game where playing blind isn't an option.
Unless you're following a build guide, you're not going to enjoy postgame content and mechanics beyond a surface-level.

Just follow Zizaran's new player guides. Following a build guide is like a blind man walking a dog
All arpgs and loot based MMos are the same.
Most similar games allow you to respec at will, POE makes you have to level a character and know exactly what you want it to do or be heavily punished for it
>Oh nice build! its nerfed next patch!
>Lets balanced game around a log out macro so legit players get 1 shot and scumbags use the macro and live
>Want an item? pay real money on our RMT websites then we ban you for RMT
how do you logout macro a one-shot?
You don't. That's the point though, the game has one-shots in the first place, because they balance the game around having logout macro, so that people with logout macro still can die, which translates to shitty gameplay for everyone else, because you now have white mobs occasionally spellcritting for 50k+ damage just for fun
People don't use the term "one shot" literally.
They mean any cumulative damage that is too high to realistically react to using game mechanics, or heal from.
There are still literal one shots too (both things you are expected to mitigate by preparing your build for it, and things that are designed to kill everyone) but obviously no one using a log out macro when a single attack did 1,000,000 damage to a 10k health pool.
Wow you really just copy pasted a reddit post.
>logout macro 1 shot
😀
T: i got many +90lvls on hc currently without any external aid
sure you have
What does "League starter" mean? It's just the build you're going to start the league with? Are you supposed to switch to a different build later on? I thought you cant do that because Regret orbs are too expensive? Or is a league starter only called "starter" because it's for beginners? I thought beginners were supposed to play on Standard?
>I thought you cant do that because Regret orbs are too expensive?
https://poe.ninja/challenge/currency?name=Orb%20of%20Regret
regrets are piss cheap
Then why does everyone just say to start over if you spec wrong?
because no one says that
the only reason to reroll is if your base class is wrong for the build you want
League starter is a type of build, that allows you to reach relatively high powerlevel in shortest time possible, before economy in league gets more or less stable - that way you, if you know details, could quickly engage yourself in trade and get a lot of currency, that later you'll either spend on another league character with more powerful, but way more expensive build, that would requre investments or really long farm. League starter allows (with knowledge of game economy rules) to get a lot of currency for investments early and quick. Build is usually not oriented on boss killing or heavy delirium stuff, so eventually you'll either abandon it or remake in something different.
I sincerely do not recommend to play first time in league - only reasons to play is various mtx for challenges (not really good in this league) and speedrunning dickmetering. Take your first character on normal and don't worry about time limits for the first time - after you'll play for some time, you'll get the grasp of craft, in-game content mechanics, will figure out several gameplay moments, and then, if you would want, dive into next league
you are pretty moronic anon
have you ever actually tried to buy shit in standard?
That's the point - you don't need to buy things on standart unless very specific. This anon is clearly first timer - so he needs to learn, how game works. Mindlessly diving in "build" guided without understanding why it is that way, usually ends up in tears. Many "in-depth" guides try to tell, what this or that stat or item give to you, but, ih the end, they usually don't speak about many different base mechanics anon doesn't even remotely understands at this point. So to actually git gud, one should play preferably ssf, but be prepared for eventual slowdowns and ways to deal with them without spending another 1000 chaoses.
Honestly couldn't have asked for a better answer. Makes me feel bad for asking in such a childishly annoying way.
League starter means a build that comes online early and does not require difficult to find uniques to work. It usually has a low ceiling on damage potential but can reach that quickly.
League starters are used to get to endgame fast and grind what you need for your preferred build.
Bleed bow glad is/was a classic League starter while aura stacking CoC frost was a classic end build.
No one actually plays standard.
Leaguestarter is a build that can get to the level where you can generate currency. While you can do all content on a leaguestarter, the strongest builds usually can't reach red maps without prepeared gear
>to enjoy postgame content and mechanics
You mean spam 3-screen aoe, while seeing nothing? Or 0 def delve abuze offscreen kill-everything-before-you-see-it? There is almost nothing to enjoy.
Game is simple - don't pick melee.
Pick skellies. After first kitava build resists and hp. Your body armor main stat priority is linked sockets. You want damage, melee damage, brutality, melee splash and you'll have a lot of time to decide, how to temporarily replace Empower. Then you continue building hp, keep resists capped, pick armor or armor/eshield items. Minion golem, vulnerability, flesh offering, auras. Victario's charity (have a good chance to drop on it's own) and Nectomantic Aegis node. This skellies will take you to the t16 easily. From there you'll have access to the rest of good things, that aren't covered in guides anyway.
Cool build guide, anon.
Picked melee this league - had fun. 180k ehp, 15M damage unoptimised
Was it just boneshatter? Getting real sick and tired of the game only having 1 viable melee skill.
Shattering steel glad with slow proj
>viable
Where do you come up with these lies.
Oh look, its a plebbit meta cuck who can't enjoy anything that is not approved by plebbit and the streamer fandom.
And yet you didn't post your awesome melee build.
Because you did not ask for it, and if i would you would just keep shifting the goalpost claiming that nothing besides boneshatter is a melee skill?
>15M damage unoptimised
More damage than every other character playing shattering steel this league impressive
Poe ninja does not do a config properly, because damage is from explosion cones intersecting
https://pobb.in/cI8oDYs4ac3d
>Poe ninja does not do a config properly, because damage is from explosion cones intersecting
Ah is this the same DPS as
>No i swear bros my poison build does 30m DPS
Or
>Look my meme arrow totem build does 40 m DPS bros
It is literally said so on poe.ninja info page. And you miss majority of damage if you dont set that you have steel shards, don't set that you are calculating damage for 4 explosion cones, don't set that projectile traveled 10 distance and don't set that you have max frenzy charges. Build has all that, but if you find somwthing that build cant achieve, but is clicked in my config, youre free to uncheck it and post dps here
>the only game
You don't play many video games, do you?
So it's shit then? Good to kmow
Precisely the reason why I don't play in the first place.
Besides, what's the point of playing after you've completed the quests? Getting gear with higher number? Lame.
Lol, anon, you dont have to out yourself like that
have you tried just not being a moron and planning out your own build before you make your character?
also this game let's you respec your passives just in case you were accidentally moronic
low iq issue
Someone recommend me a build. No walking simulators.
>playing blind isn't an option
Why?
Also will I like it if I start now?
Hitting end game is a brick wall if you don't have a good idea how to make a character. And 99% of the content is end game. Plus at that point you will not have enough currency to respec so you're stuck. Then if you get past that you will need a meta character to challenge the later end game. Skill is basically irrelevant in this game.
Game is complex as hell. Yeah base game is good but crucible (current active new league mechanic) is not
>le ebic huge skilltree!!
That got old really quick, how is this game still alive?
If you are not brainlet creating new builds is the game.
>you should be able to enjoy the full depth of a game on your first playtrough
Who said that OP? Are you always this miserable and do you never replay a game ti find out more about it?
I got bored of it before I finished the story content. I don't know how people even make it to the "post game"
>shattering steel
>Meele
lol.
Well I instantly miss 30% more if projectiles travel more than 10 distance and it doesnt really make difference to me if i have to click the enemy or stand on top of it and click the ground
PoE newbie here
How do I play Cyclone Slayer? Between my israeliteelry and passives feel like I had to spec so much into Dex and Int for the gems that I'm doing no damage. I'm not dying but some rare mobs just take fricking forever to kill. I can dump a whole Sanctified mana flask just holding RMB on one guy, in a zone that I'm 9 levels above.
On Standard if that matters.
