I set her flag off for the date, then set it back after. I ended up fricking both the succ and the Queen. You can romance everyone in a single playthrough if you want. Succ and Galfrey actually work great together in the ending slides as well.
Looking to round off my party, currently level 12 in Act 3. Going CE Trickster and picking characters that at least somewhat fit in with this.

Make Irabeth commander, stick the MC as her aide de camp for a few missions (commander tutorial) and then have her frick everything in the last minute and get her killed before reaching Dresden. Then the crusaders would rally around the MC as a figure of power and the rise up to crusade commander would feel natural.
You want the real answer? They're absolutely fricking desperate. The last three Crusades were complete failures, and they had to resort to having penal colonies, as well as accepting the forces of Cheliax and literal devil worshippers.

secret ending feels right only on lich/demon mythics. all the while it's really far fetched because you don't even get hinted at some of the hard reqs like hepzamirah's ghost
I'd say it makes sense for a redeemed Lich or Demon. Wanting to do good but haven't quite worked through their desire for knowledge/power.
The secret ending is not about morality. At best it goes against "justice" because you let Areelu get away with everything (and ONLY if you ALSO let her ascend with you), but it's not about good or evil. You do have to make some morally questionable things to get it but most of the requirements are related to seeking knowledge.
My main character was an Angel, very lawful good, and the ending suit himself fine, but that's mostly because I cared more about Areelu and the protag as characters rather than as plot devices or huds stating their moral alignment.
The secret ending, as many people have pointed out in other threads, is a massive cop-out/way out for Owlcat to protect themselves from the massive screeching of autists screeching that "their path" doesn't have a super-happy-get-everything-you-wanted-golden-ending. That's why everyone sans Legend can achieve it.
And that's why it's a massive trap, as well. You do literally everything the villain, who led to an entire nation destroyed and uncountable murder, rape, and misery, set out to do.

Does Shatter Defenses require you to make more than one attack a round to proc? Taking it on my Rowdy Vital Strike rogue may not have been a good decision.
I believe your first attack "opens" an enemy, and he is flatfooted for the rest of the fight as long as you don't automiss by rolling 1. So it's useless if you can oneshot someone, but still great in prolonged fights.
As a rogue, you can take Opportunist to get a free attack per round and another chance to proc it.

Attack someone with vital strike and mouse over the attack roll in the combat log. It should tell you if shattered defenses actually applied on the first hit. As I recall, it does even though it shouldn't.

I guess every boss gives every character in your party a mythic level and you don't get to choose a mythic path. Only mythic heroes all around.

Trickster is tailored towards weapons with high crit modifier. If you go hunter pick divine hound

can sohei be trickster. Flurry fauchard almost seems like cheating with 13-20 crit change.
Mythic paths don't have alignment restrictions, you might slip to neutral if you pick Trickster dialogue options but I'd guess you can stay lawful if you stick to lawful choices other than mythic path ones. Sohei can work as just a 5 level dip, or you can get advanced weapon training from fighter and it counts for Sohei flurry - I've done that with Refill.
I think your pet can pick up the extra improved crit feats, you'd just want to make sure you pick a pet that focuses on one natural attack type like smilideon.

Legend and Devil shouldn't even be late game. The forces of Cheliax and the Church of Asmodeus openly take part in the crusades. A devil should be offering you a contract as soon as you become Commander.

I want to go angel and mostly do melee while occasionally buffing or using storm of justice, cleric just seems way worse for this.

Oracle can cast more of the same boosts, while cleric gets all the different boosts, cures, banes and blesses to pick from.
Whichever you pick, you may want to consider one level as celestial bloodrager for the holy attacks and infinite rage.

Angel is a nice powertrip, and sharing smites is strong.Horse makes you tanky enough to run in, kill somebody wit ha full attack and not fear most attacks. And Buff spells allow you to stop caring about shit the enemy throws at you.
And nearly everyone likes you. It's also a fairly complete path, so unlikely to get significant changes in EE
Sharing Smite is not just strong, it's a boost comparable to Guarded Hearth if you go halfsies on STR/CHA
Yeah, and it's bullshit that different sources stack (My own +6 and Galfrey sharing +15 in endgame).
Melee lich +widesweep scythe is pretty neato and ascetic.
For lich I figured I might as well take advantage of the merging spellbook and play some sort of gish

I'm playing a lvl 1 blood steelblood bloodrager, sorcerer, EK. Bloodragers are bugged, I think, allowing all arcane casting in heavy armor without failure chance (haven't tried other classes besides sorcerer though) even though it's only supposed to work for bloodrager spells.
It's okay. You are not hitting as hard as a fighter who has the lich spellbook for buffs and anything that is not a buff spell or a lich spell that does not care for saves/resistances will not be very useful.
But it's a nice feeling to be able to smack demons with your weapon while having frightful presence, seamantle etc naturally.
Would a lich work proper as a Seeker(Oracle)/Seeker(Sorcerer) Mystic Theurge? Or will you just stay crippled with the incomplete sorcerer spellbook you merge the lich spellbook into?
You'd lose at least 4 caster levels and many bloodline benefits. And the rest of the party would run out of resources long before you do
There's a guy who posts that build sometimes. Since you don't hit CL 28 you never get 10th level spells but the flip side to
is that you can surround yourself with martial companions that don't need to spend resources on most fights and have enough spellslots to go on forever, and never get exhausted from travelling. The main downside to MT in game as opposed to in tabletop is that there's a limited number of spells implemented and a lot of shared spells.

It is interesting how well and often Hellknights get along with Liches in Pathfinder lore.
It make sense, Regill is Lawful Evil with EXTRA Lawful, and Liches are known to be very rational, in control of themselves with perfect memory, when they aren't drinking the evil study koolaid.

To be more clear: You have a spellbook where you scribe spells in from scrolls. Then you put some of those in slots which you then can cast from like a sorcerer as a spontaneous caster. But you have fewer slots to put spells in, so you are worse off despite being able to customize your spell arsenal for the day with a bigger spellbook.
It's a hybrid of sorc and wiz. Say you know every level 1 spell from scrolls, but when you rest you can only choose two of them. You choose grease and mage armor. Next day, you can cast 4 level 1 spells from your selection of grease or mage armor. Overall you'll have an even smaller selection of spells at each level per day to cast than a sorcerer, but you can swap around that selection every rest.
all the weaknesses of both wizard and sorcerer
at least they have some unique strengths of their own to work from, but i don't think anything is as good as just being better at casting the way wiz and sorc both are

The language barrier is a general situation that is easy to implement.

You can usually easily add another synergy to your party, even it's it's just some bane/bond from a Freebooter, or a Martyr with 20 feet aura, or an Archeologist who can cast luck, or a Sensei who can cast advice, or a barbarian with inspire ferocity etc. There are lots of ways to make your party concept much stronger.

The Martyr Paladin has some pretty impressive 20 foot auras.
But the loss of Smite Evil is a very expensive cost. Maybe too expensive.
The one thing that sucks hard about Arcanist is that you are fricked both by abundant spell feats and merging spellbooks.
Abuncant spellcasting: you only gain spells per day, you don't get spell slots. Much worse than a Wizard
Lich merged spellbook: you gain the spells as known, but if you want to actually cast them they'll take one of your few spell slots. Much worse than a Sorcerer who gets all those spells as free spontaneous casts ontop of the ones he picks every level.
Having only one good exploit and a couple cute ones does not help either.
That will all change in future games where you don't have mythic levels.

A non schizo would realize that the point is most crpgs are designed with combat on basic flat terrain in mind and have a limited spell list and you cannot just slap dash a random utility spell useful only out of combat to use in a couple situations to make wizards more useful
A game that had a greater spell list, more out of combat scenarios or greater emphasis on exploration and varied effects would make wizards more useful, sure. It requires much greater effort than the one you posit.

I played Kingmaker for a bit and was snoozing. This game on the otherhand keeps me going
Sensei, Zen Archer, Student of Stone all fit so well together with 4 levels of Rogue.
They gain some benefits, they lose Evasion, but the 4 Rogue levels have evasion and many other things.
Interesting, the Sensei can give all summoned creatures and animal companions Evasion on top of the inspire Courage aura.

At level 16 the Student of Stone has just enough to reach 2nd highest damage dice for the fists. The maximum isn't gained until level 20.
At level 16 he has just enough leftover for 4 Thug levels.
He regains the Evasion he lost for the Stone bonuses.
He gains Uncanny dodge, he is now unflankable.
He gains Sneak Attacks, and Debilitating Injury, and the Brutal Beating.
probably not specifically, since thug isn't exactly unique, a ton of classes follow roughly the same patterns, they probably just designed student of stone to generally fit that kind of dip

If we ignore all possible forms of improved DC from other mythics, azata can restore all casts and ability uses multiple times per day with a spell. Which means, you can easily multiply your bomb capacity.

I've heard others say its fun, you'll probably want to take a full martial class like Monk since Angel's base spell list will probably have all the self-buffs you'd want to use.
I mean, melee angel will self buff and just atatck . 2 extra times later with greater sword of heaven blessings. And do more damage to abolish targets.

The point largely is that even though she can understand and remember most things, she has no critical thinking and no real creativity. She is aping what a real scientist would act like. She can remember everything needed to memorize spells and cast them and she remembers everything she considers important. But her actual process for uncovering shit on her own is moronic.
She is not a good scientist and nobody in the game or from your party recognizes her as such. I can understand why people would still find such a character annoying to be around, but that does not mar her actual character arc, narrative wise at least.
As for Rick and morty comparisons, never watched the show so I cannot comment properly, but from what I know by osmosis aka shit posted in Ganker, she never turns herself into a pickle or do science bullshit nobody else can, at the very least.

I might be forgetting something but I think most of the party buffs wizards bring are shared with oracle/cleric or witch lists, the main one I can think of that isn't is haste. Woljif's ES4/Vivi16 build would get Haste eventually or you could make him straight ES to get it a bit earlier and with more CL. And if you're really bothered you could also just buy a mercenary.
There are a few more things clerics miss like Legendary proportions, greater heroism (which Ember gets) , heroic invocation , mind blank communal (but it's abjuration so two slots for nenio) and such

It looks like all of those are on the witch list. Having Ember casting buffs could be considered wasted potential for her so I do see that argument, but with greater enduring a lot of buffs are just one cast per day anyway, and at least for me I'm usually using metamagic rays for my 8th and 9th level slots so losing some spells known there isn't a huge loss.
Building Woljif as Eldritch Knight with a level of Arcane Enforcer for martial weapons proficiency. He gets to come along brew potions and boost from time to time or go backstabbing. Nenio is delegated to scroll writing in Drezen. Though Woljif is just barely more tolerable than Nenio.

I haven't played any of the bomb classes so I could be wrong, but I don't know that the Arcane Bomber would stack at all with the Alchemist bombs. I'd assume Underground Chemist would let you apply sneak attack damage to Alchemist bombs but I'd recommend double checking that since it may only be coded for alchemy items like alchemist's fire, and I'd assume you can't double dip the int bonus to bombs. Another option could be fighter to pick up weapon specialization. Barbarian's rage says it applies to thrown weapons but again I'd check if that includes Alchemist bombs if you're interested, as a legend you also wouldn't have access to Limitless rage unless you took it at first level.
What's your take on the scaling cantrips mod? It's a cheat or an improvement?
FYI:

Considering the damage your character has to do as you progress and that you need ascendant elements to be effective against most enemies with basic arcane ones means it's kinda inconsequential. With Abundant casting, you can throw low level spells to do minor damage more effectively and you will likely not run out either way before teh whole party needs some rest

Compared to a human cavalier, you are one feat behind, so it can't be that.

Consider cavalier of the paw for a small cavalier, even though it's a halfling
Cavalier's capstone is actually good, especially since it multiples mythic charge and I think the Lich charge power. Beast Rider misses out on bonus combat feats from Gendarme since it's limited to Teamwork feats like normal Cavalier, but you still get all your mounted combat feats as bonus feats. You would probably feel pretty feat starved if you tried to go the Dazzling Display route though, even with being able to get DD from an order, since you'd want all the other normal melee feats on top of it. Gnome also has the strength penalty, which is ultimately minor but will probably make your character feel weaker early on. In my opinion the mythic feat that removes your racial penalty isn't worth the feat but it does exist. Trying to go dex focused isn't going to work that well I don't think since you'd be stuck with a one handed weapon or have to sink even more feats into Elven Curved Blade, and you don't really need to worry about AC as a mounted character since enemies target your mount.
This works fine. Velo is probably the best mount in the game, that fricking thing gets 8 attacks, trip, and great ac.

the problem with nenio's scroll usage, or rather basing your party's entire playstyle around it, is that everyone has an amount of limited per day abilities that makes them run out at about the same time, but nenio can go for much longer than that
so you can either continue using only nenio while everyone else does almost nothing, or you can go to sleep and nenio's scroll thing never comes into strong focus
now don't get me wrong, nenio's scroll thing is still useful in other circumstances, like if you want a particular spell that nobody has memorized, or if you have a divine scroll and no divine caster, etc., it's just actually trying to continue playing normally with only nenio using scrolls and everyone else autoattacking that really sucks

Eh, that's not true, you're dealing with a game where you don't really run out of hexes, you don't really run out of arrows, and you can even have companions who regain health after a battle.

Kineticists are normally in the same tier as Nenio when it comes to trucking on without sleeping. It's not like their lives depend on those burns, they can go down in efficiency a bitm but still be stronger than many other classes.

How do you guys feel about the Hex Channeler?
Upgrading their channeling to 10D6 at the cost of all of their Hexes seems like a bad trade.
Maybe it's for parties who can only make use of like 3-5 types of hexes, and then adding the rest to Channeling dices.

I can't imagine wanting to use that over a regular cleric or witch, clerics get the same amount of channel plus domains and the witch spell list isn't especially better than the cleric one. Maybe if there was something specific you wanted to do with witch but I'm not sure what that would be. Channeling for damage in general is already kind of weak, and both Daeran and Sosiel can bring competent channeling for health.
I suppose I could see this being useful in a party if you wanted to get the arcane buffs witch gets instead of taking Nenio but also wanted the character to do group healing. I'd probably still prefer to get hexes though.

Horse is a viable tank for most of the game. Give her shield feats to add to it's AC, have it learn crane style and it will do wonders. She won't e able to abuse mobility much even with the boost of the boots to help the et, but that's fine.
While sadly dazzling display on horseback can be weird, you can try having her land cornugon smash for the sake f applying shaken.
And keep raising charisma for smites, that will be her best tool
The only real downside with Ley Line Guardian is the GM might spontaneously frick you over if you travel too far too often.
And being careful with the Cackling, since that depends on move action, and getting staggered removes said move action.
I see 2 ways to guild the Ley Line Guardian.
Without Cackle. then you don't have to give a frick about getting staggered.
You can even give this build low fortitude. Only issue is mobility when you get staggered. But with a part with plenty of animal companions it would be difficult for the opponents to gtake advantage and ambush you.
With Cackle. Have to invest into Constitution and Fortitude saving throws.
Maybe even be a Dwarf and take the Steel Soul feat.
This is where it kind of sucks that you don't have a Familiar which can give you a Fortitude bonus. But it should work out decently.

Surely she can hit stuff with touch attacks. Else she would have spells that always hit.
Touch spells will only crit on 20s, I think you can improved crit them but that still only gets you to 19-20, and you only get one attack of them per round. Rays are somewhat better since you can get more than one but you're still stuck on 19-20 crit range. Arcane Trickster is probably going to be more consistent if you want to do a ray caster. On the other hand Nenio can get pounce as a Kitsune so if you're willing to put in the effort she could be a good EK, her base strength is so bad you'd have to invest in weapon finesse though and half the melee party members are already dex-focused.
It was easier in the beta, I think she had 9 strength back there. Still Minus but, buffs/equipment made it functional. I
There's a relic bardiche that lets you use intelligence for attack and damage rolls, Ashwood Pole Bardiche, I think that's what people use if they're building her as an EK. I don't really like builds relying on a mid level weapon though.

The meta build is to go ES 4/Vivisectionist 16 to get him a bunch of melee stats from mutagen and full sneak attack (optionally switching to using throwing axes over daggers). He's already got a few dual wielding feats so switching him to a ray caster is wasting those, although I think it could still be fine mechanically.

Why take any extra levels of ES rather than full Vivi? Getting all your spells 1 level earlier and 1 level stronger > minor BAB and sneak bonus.

4th level ES gets you debilitating strike and sense vitals, and the sneak attack from 17 Vivi is wasted because you end up with 11d6 SA but the max is 1d6 per 2 HD. I don't think the difference is that significant though, if you'd prefer the Alchemist spells.
Would you even want to cast Sense Vitals or a lot of those other ES spells when you're only at level 4? +3.5 sneak attack damage for 4 rounds is the kind of thing I'd consider not even worth my time casting unless it's a super difficult fight that I've failed multiple times on already.
It's not so much about what Vivi gets at level 17 as much as it is that you're always a level ahead in your spellcasting the whole game. When one Vivi is casting and getting Vivi buffs as a level 11, the other is level 12, and so on. Especially considering that one of the perks of Alchemist casting is that you can give normally Personal buffs to others.
Debilitating Strike is decent though.
Weapon Finesse Training is level 3 which IIRC is Woljif's starting level so you can't undo that without mods. If you were doing a full respec I'd seriously consider Vivi 20 regardless. Mirror image is OK if he's frontlining but you're only getting like 1-2 casts of it and it's only giving ~3 images.

Dexterity belts share an item slot with strength, whereas you get wisdom from a head slot and there are good headbands for +wisdom and +monk abilities. Focusing on wisdom for your to-hit stat means you can get better pure strength belts for him.

The Monk is ideal at level 16 and level 20.
If you're willing to forgo his damage dice at level 20, then you can give him 4 levels of Thug.
It will help your overall damage output by giving you Sneak Attack, and make you apply a sickness onto the creature you sneak attack on.
And you apply a Debilitation, on the creature, you can choose to cripple the opponent's AC, or To Hit, or halve their speed.
4 levels of Thug is immensely powerful.
