$8 dlc with 5-7 gameplay vs a whole new game with 60+ hrs gameplay. If anything most people will buy it to fill the time until RT comes out.
they're a month apart though. Sure, if you're mr. money bags and you can shill out gorrillions of dollars for new releases without a dent in your wallet or if you're of the rum drinking persuasion so what you "spend" on new releases doesn't matter then that's different, but the average consumer isn't going to waste what money they have for games on a dlc when they can just buy rogue trader.
>Sure, if you're mr. money bags
Bro, it's less than an hour's wage. Money isn't going to be anyone's issue here.
honestly if you don't have money you shouldn't have the free time to be playing this
Waaat? That's not even 15 minutes of salary, anon. Anyone with a Mcjob or better can afford that without a second thought.
>Anyone with a Mcjob or better
If you have a mcwagie job you can't even afford monthly rent let alone groceries, why do you think wagies can afford to dish out over 60 bucks for a game they don't even have time to play?
none of their dlcs are worth it, and they probably realized the tards that buy them will buy anything at any time, so it doesn't matter.
Companion dlcs are good
it shocks me that people pay to add more awful companions to these games.
The companions aren't nearly as bad as people on Ganker make them out to be.
>not nearly as bad
wow, high praise. anon, your not nearly as bad is my awful. the companions the game has are more than enough and i like to add a merc or two. paying to add another one i won't play with makes no sense. it's just collector autism that makes people buy this shit, and they'll buy anything.
I like all of them besides Nenio 🙂
my condolences.
I'm not interested in boys.
If you love gay bears so much cut the middle man and play BG3.
Ulbrig was what people here requested for like a year though?
>male companion
piss off
Then why did people constantly complain about lack of white male companions?
Doesn't count as representation if he's a homosexual
Aye, he's mindbroken
>straight white male viking companion
>homosexual
he's arguing that being playersexual makes him a huge gay. I'm pretty sure you have initiate any sort of flirting with him, so Ulbrig being gay in your game would 100% be on the player.
it's part of their side story dlc nobody cares about so it doesn't matter
They're adding new archetypes, a dungeon in act 5 and new feats (the latter isn't part of the dlc)
Bakker collab DLC? New rape based classes and mechanics?
>Really need a tank
>Don't wanna fricking use Seelah
>Nobody else makes a good tank without really specialized building I'm too much of an idiot to do
regill is a good tank
Cam and Woljif make fantastic tanks. Shit, they dunk on Seelah without even trying.
Cam
>Grab the Ice Plant hex and Icy Protector ring (available the moment you arrive to Defender's Heart)
>Equip buckler
>Equip chain shirt
She already makes a better tank than Seelah
>Pump dex as your level
>Eventually trade your armour for Archmage Armour + Potions of Mage Armour or the Air Barrier Hex (via Second Spirit Wind)
Woljif
>Cast Mage Armour
Sure, not better than Seelah (so long as she goes sword+board) but already pretty close
>Pump dex as you level
>Pick Archmage Armour as one of your first mythics
>Cast Shield, Blur, Mirror Image before challenging fights
Now he leaves Seelah in the dust
Not even mentioning dipping two levels of Instinctual Warrior for Cam or multiclassing into Vivisectionist from 5th level onwards for Woljif
Seriously, I equiped Camelia like that and she was still getting mauled super fast. Compared to that, get a pet with crane wing (at start of act 2 when you can get a +int item) + equipment and it lasts like crazy
Never bothered with trying to get Camprostitute to defend after that. Didn't try the Wolfjiz theme, feels bad and silly to have a mage/thief defend.
>Eventually trade your armour for Archmage Armour + Potions of Mage Armour
That hasn't been working for months .
that one I wasn't using (act 1)
You don't need a tank in this game.
Stop thinking in terms of WoW.
Please tell this to game designers
Tanks are not needed, though you can make one or turn a companion into one.
>bruh I need a tank
No, you don't. Adapt your strategy. Use Ulbrig death from above grapple to neutralize heavy hitters and force them to focus on him. In any case, even if you dedicate one of your party members to being a "tank" enemies will still ignore them and go for your archers and casters instead because the a.i. is smarter than Kingmaker's.
I didn't buy Ulbrig's DLC, I didn't see any reason why I'd want him.
I'm on chapter 2 and my characters aren't lethal enough to mow through enemies that fast or dodgy enough that I can trust them with multiple enemies. I'm about to go into Leper's Smile and when Seelah's out Cam definitely doesn't last long regardless and Woljif needs Mirror Image.
I was building Cam as a Dual Wielder. As for Woljif, like I said, he needs all his spells up to take hits, which is all well and good when I'm buffed up for a tough fight, but when I'm running through a dungeon? Not all those buffs last long enough to have up consistently, especially not Mirror Image, and we're not killing weak enemies fast enough that it doesn't matter.
Did you not get a mount for Seelah? Mounts are tanks. They get AC bonuses every level. Building a foot tank is a waste of time because it will only come online later in the game.
I do have a mount for Seelah. My problem is that I don't want Seelah in my party but I feel like I need a tank.
Sosiel can (should) be given a mount via his first mythic, he can tank. Same deal with Daeran. You just give them Nature, essentially.
Characters can be turned into Divine Hounds or Mad Dogs, which gets you a mount too.
Just the way the game is. On core or higher, your dudes on foot just won't have high enough AC to not get hit. I guess you can have cam spam protective luck on someone, but that only works if the enemies are all targeting one person, which is great for the first chapter but less so later.
>Sosiel can (should) be given a mount via his first mythic, he can tank. Same deal with Daeran
I hate both of them as well. At this point I wanted to use Regill, Woljiff, Lann, Cam, and Ember.
>Characters can be turned into Divine Hounds
Lann is a Divine Hound but I'm not impressed with his dog's performance, I don't think I have the gear to make a dog tanky at level 7.
skill issue
Probably.
I have a full party of characters I can tolerate, it's just that I hate Seelah, Sosiel, and Daeran, who are the three you suggested to me to deal with the tank issue.
Lann will require boon companion feat, same with anyone getting a ranger type companion.
I'll give it to him at level 9, but that won't help me in the immediate.
You can try to use protective luck as a stopgap, that will require cam to not be the tank though.
I've got three characters who can cast Protective Lucky funny enough, picked it on Ember too and my PC is also a Witch.
>easy to add a mount with second spirit to cam though.
You know the nature spirit animal companion doesn't appear until level 16, right?
If you hate tthe companions, mercs are a good option. Full control over feat selection more than makes up for lower base stats.
>Lann is a Divine Hound but I'm not impressed with his dog's performance, I don't think I have the gear to make a dog tanky at level 7.
What feats did you give his dog?
The reason pets/mounts are so simple to make into good tanks is that they're free to go all-in on defensive feats, letting their rider/owner focus on doing damage. Basically this means picking up the Crane Style chain as quickly as possible (with an exception for Outflank naturally).
>Sosiel can (should) be given a mount via his first mythic, he can tank. Same deal with Daeran. You just give them Nature, essentially.
this is like kingmaker's dazzling display spam. midwits find one thing that works and assume you should always use it on everything you can, as if the game isn't full of different broken options to exploit.
What else would you give him then
Community, nobility, law, madness
>Proceeds to mention the other "one thing that works"
animal madness and community is plenty, he's only got one swift action per turn.
Name a "broken" option for Sosiel that doesn't involve a pet.
Battle is the only choice for Daeran, Legendary Proportions is too important and making him a martial with buffs is far more efficient than trying to blast or CC with him when Ember and Nenio do it so much better.
>Name a "broken" option for Sosiel that doesn't involve a pet.
benching him forever after playful darkness and sarkorian ghost
you don't even need him if you prepped greater dispels on your casters and bumrush the ghost
Stacking pure sight is too obviously an exploit based on awkward programming. At least guarded hearth feels like I'm playing the game by the rules even if it's unbalanced to shit.
he said he doesn't want to use seelah. easy to add a mount with second spirit to cam though.
Seelah's AC
>Full plate +2 = 11 (not actually sure you can get full plate +2 by now but whatever)
>Dex = 1 (pretty sure you don't get mithril full plate until the end of Drezen)
>Heavy shield +2 = 4
>Amulet of natural armour +2 = 2
Cam's AC
>Lady Callandra's Chainshirt = 6
>Dex = 6 (assuming you've put at least one ability score increase into it and found her a belt of at least +2 dex)
>Ice plant = +2
>Icy Protector = +2
Sure, Seelah's ahead but not by much and only because her necklace takes up the amulet slot (also the fact you chose to build her for twf rather than s+b). Should be sufficient for easy combats and for the harder ones just have her cast barkskin.
Everything else should be equal between the two - both can wear a ring of protection for deflection bonus, both can fight defensively, both can grab combat expertise and crane wing, etc
>As for Woljif, like I said, he needs all his spells up to take hits, which is all well and good when I'm buffed up
Get greater enduring spells ASAP. I've seen people say it's just a quality of life improvement but if you want Woljif to tank then 24h shield, blur, mirror image is extremely useful.
I'd also suggest multiclassing him into vivisectionist after level 4. Not only do you get the AC and dex bonus from mutagen but his ability to cast 24h shields on Cam would make up for you building her as a twf-er.
My instinct is that Regill would make a fine tank too. He's small, high dex and has armour training. I wouldn't have thought you'd need more than that. I can't say for sure though, I had him riding around on Bismuth from the moment I found the statuette and as a result never paid much attention to his defensive stats.
>a belt of at least +2 dex
Haven't seen one where I am (pre-Leper's Smile.) I also understand what you're saying about Iceplant but it's not one of the hexes I picked for her, so it's kind of a "I can do this in 2 levels" situation. Also I've been spoiled on her character development and am playing a good character, so I know I'm going to have to kill her sooner or later, I just don't know when. So I'm not sure how much longer I can rely on her.
>Get greater enduring spells ASAP.
Would be level 11 I believe. Also, I have been multiclassing him into Vivisectionist, he's Vivi 2/Scoundrel or whatever his base class is 5.
iirc Crane, Outflank, and weapon focus bite.
>so it's kind of a "I can do this in 2 levels" situation.
Yeah, I get you. I wouldn't say that Woljjif or Cam need specialised building to be good tanks but they do need some particular choices and there's not much you can do between levels short of visiting the respec dude.
You might be able to keep her alive for a fair while depending on how willing your character is to give out second chances or accept her 'ends justify the means' excuse. I'm currently on my good playthrough and I'm looking forward to seeing how things pan out if I tell her to behave following the first confrontation.
>he's Vivi 2/Scoundrel or whatever his base class is 5
Ooof. You may want to respec that. Scoundrel 5 is just a terrible breakpoint - you get nothing for it, it costs you a point of BAB (medium BAB classes should be leveled in multiples of 4 if possible) and means you'll never get to 6th level spellls in Vivisectionist.
>iirc Crane, Outflank, and weapon focus bite.
That's about as good as it gets.
If he's got more than 1 level of Zen Archer then Lann'll need Boon Companion but other than that his dog should make a fine tank. Just remember to give him the right magic items and buffs (at least mage armour, and more before boss fights).
To get woljif online early as a tank without needing spellslots. This guy has some good videos for other nonstandard tanks but his accent is a bit thick. Basically take a stig witch dip for iceplant+lizard+mage armor and an arcane enforcer dip for the plant transformation
>I'm on chapter 2 and my characters aren't lethal enough to mow through enemies that fast
That's your actual problem then.
Sadly none of the shops available to me have piles of +2 enchanted gear of the proper weapon type for all of my party.
>+2
Who cares just use magic weapon and great magic weapon
>proper weapon type for all my party
Yes there is, the game always makes sure to give you weapons for your companions
>great magic weapon
Using this as an FYI to new players. Base enchantment does not matter. Look for weapons with powerful effects then cast greater magic weapon on them.
I have like one cast of magic weapon at my level. Anyway I'm at the lost chapel now so maybe things will open up soon.
You aren't at the point where it even matters yet. Cold Iron and Good alignment are more important to start.
The icon of iomedae or whatever that artifact is that puts it on your whole party handles that one for me.
A leopard (or boar/triceratops on any lower difficulty than unfair)
Crane isn't even necessary for mounts, that's just a luxury. With barksin, mage armor, divine shield, their massive natural bonus is enough. I usually play on hard.
Just a PSA:
The weakness of mount tank vs. foot is the mount can be cc'd out from under the rider meaning several rounds of severely reduced tanking and tedious crap while you have to click him back on. Also the occasional hall chokepoint type issues but that's usually to your benefit on a tank.
This is why both riding skills that up your AC (So cc's have a harder time landing in the first place) and the paladin like save skill (so as to pass all saves and not get cc'd) are very important.
Well correction that the first riding skill doesn't actually up your AC but it gives you access to a whole other counter roll system which is probably statistically way up there on stopping hits.
Indomitable Mount (the feat that lets you negate failed saves with a mobility check) was way more useful than Mounted Combat (the AC one) imo.
The other thing I found extremely useful was Daeran's Friend To Animals ability. Getting his cha as a bonus to saves was excellent.
>Daeran

>dude, a spaceship crashed in our fantasy setting
I hate to break it to you anon, but Greyhawk already did it over 40 years ago.
greyhawk was awful, but it's the reason too. gygax wasn't trying to sell buck rogers books.
I'm not really interested in your personal opinion, I'm just pointing out that scifi elements crossing over into a fantasy setting has been part of D&Dfinder since the beginning, and as you pointed out, that has its roots in pulp novels that stretch back even further in time. So, you can't really signal Paizo out like they're doing something egregious and verboten, they're effectively copying a long and storied twist in fantasy. In videogames, I believe one of the first and most well-known examples of this happening is the Ultima series.
Might and Magic is far more explicit about it
You literally repair and fly a spaceship to confront the main villain in I think it was Ultimate II, and in a later game fly a spaceship to Mars.
i'm not interested in your personal opinion either. they are doing it to sell books for another setting. it's shameless.
Numeria existed long before Starfinder did.
right, first it was Distant Worlds
Technically, what don't they do for the sake of selling books?

I wish there is also a male Android so we can have playable Android race mod. would be fun to play as a Android Angel or a lich.
I thought she was cute until I noticed she was bald, that's probably why they covered her up with a hood
If we get an android race I might have to postpone my Aoen run until this dlc comes out.
>female companion
>only for the moronic side campaign and not even a romance
>male companion
>full romance with better ending than any of the female romances (especially arueshalae) because it's disgusting homosexual homosexual shit and that's all owlcat does now
Fricking garbage
>He's still b***hing
Frick off homosexual
Says the homosexual defending homosexual shit. It's so obvious how you "anti-coomers" only come out of the woodwork to criticize straight content or requests for straight content. But you NEVER criticize homosexual content. You NEVER have a single negative thing to say about gay shit. Because it's not about being anti-coomer. It's about being anti-straight. You shifty fricking homosexuals.
I'm not anti-coomer in fact I'm an Aruegay, I just like Ulbrig and you're a moronic crybaby
What is there to criticize?
He is another bi companion, liek teh majority of owlcat romances and he does not force anythimg/. I have never seen his romance, same way I have not seen Regs, Daerans etc. He is cool to have around. What exactly do you want from companions anon? Cause it feels like you are playing the wrong genre
nta but my main issue is that they really expect me to pay money for some gay moron.
I do not base DLC purchase on whether my MC can frick it or not, so I guess I cannot get it.
Only romance I have done in both games is technically Nyyrissa's to unlock the extended scenes and epilogue in Kingmaker.
Ulbrig was pretty fun to have around and his questline was not bad. Almost cracked the top 3 of companions
They expect you to pay money for a companion, a new class and two new wintersun sized areas
because what the game needs is one more class, one more companion, and more areas. owlcat sucks at making compelling dlc.
Yes, this is exactly how a good expansion looks like
No pic related or DAO awakening is how a good expansion should be
Your standards are very low if you think a new character and a new class is an "expansion"
It's new character, class and area. A good expansion
ToB is an atrocious expansion.
>A single settlement that's a joke, and only has a single sidequest.
>Completely on rails.
>Completely linear.
>The main villain is obvious from the get-go, yet you can't do anything about it.
>No evil path.
>Obviously rushed - Saradush is mostly empty, as is Amkethran, even though both have fully modelled cities.
>Sarevok's moronic and unearned redemption into CHAOTIC GOOD out of nowhere. Fortunately, it's non-canon.
>Outside of romances and Sarevok, none of the party members have a story arc.
I could go on and on.
It might be bad, but it's definitely an expansion and not a shitty DLC.
ToB is just a boss rush. It had satisfying endings for all of the characters and I liked the combat and boss fights so I enjoyed it.
>It had satisfying endings for all of the characters
You are high.
It did. I liked all the epilogues they wrote for each character. Well, I suppose Edwin got the short end of the stick but the writers clearly always viewed him as a joke character anyway.
NTA, but what makes those epilogues bad is that the events of ToB, bar Sarevok and romances, had no impact on them. The series could've ended with BG2, had the exact same epilogues, and you wouldn't notice the difference.
>Edwin got the short end of the stick
BG is very "traditional". Every single evil(ish) character gets a bad end:
>Tiax - Dead
>Faldorn - Dead
>Montaron - Dead
>Xzar - Dead
>Safana - Dead
>Sarevok - bitter ending (canon) or bittersweet (non-canon)
>Korgan - Dead (Epilogue)
>Hexxat - Dead (Epilogue)
>Dorn - Dead (Epilogue)
>Edwin - Bad Ending
>Viconia - Neutral Ending (canon) or bittersweet ending (non canon)
The only good character that has a bad ending is Ajantis, and the only neutral one is Cernd.
Nothing wrong with that, Evil characters having a terrible end is a logical consequence of how they live.
>It had satisfying endings for all of the characters
Except for Sarevok and romances, they could've put the very same epilogue at the end of BG2, and nothing would've changed. None of the other party members have even a sliver of a storyline in ToB.
Then you have to remember that ToB was supposed to be a full game, and that Neverwinter Nights was supposed to be connected, albeit loosely, to the games as well. Aaron Gand was supposed to be Valygar, who even mentions to Mazzy in a conversation of wanting to go to Neverwinter.
>the same romance gay crying in every thread
You're the dumb Black person who romanced Ulbrig to begin with while playing a male character which is why you complain about him. Literally just shut him down and move on. I didn't even know Ulbrig was romanceable until your dumb ass started complaining about him itt, so stop being a homosexual and stop zooming through dialogue like an adhd addled zoomer. The next game Owlcat makes after RT they should have zero romances at all so just so homosexuals like you get filtered.
He probably didn't romance Ulbrig, it's just his mere existence that bothers him
>Where is the racist white human companion, owlcat?
>Nooooo, not like that
Ulbrig is based tho. He replaced Regill and Lann in my party because of his idiotic 7 INT conversation and how broken his death from above ability is
Ulbrig is a million times better than half of the companions in the base game. I immediately shelved Selah as soon as I got Ulbrig.
>add a Android companion
>still no Gunslinger class
frick this shit
From what I remember devs hat gunslinger just like they hate antipaladin
>hate gunslinger
>hate Antipaladin
>hate iconic romance
Owlcat is much worse than Paizo
iconic romanse?
you know, the iconic from Pathfinder ttrpg.Owlcat didn't do a Amiri romance or a Seelah romance which makes me think they won't do the other girls
wouldn't that be a mandate from paizo? license forbids messing with established character canon or something.
Paizo said they had no problem with an Amiri romance
Doesn't matter who lied, point is the two iconics weren't romanceable so that most likely means the third one won't be either
Hopefully it won't be Seoni then because having her taunting me with those thighs while not being able to frick her would be too much
my money is that paizo lied, but overall that's fine, those characters suck.
Poor Rasmus - such an awesome design, such a shitty class. Seriosly, if Medium is ever to be featured in Pathfinder CRPG, it'll need to undergo a major overhaul.
This is missing the evil party iconics they made. Nyctessa is a cutie.
Reminder that Owlcat's now claiming GW blocked them from a sister of battle romance and sex with the female eldar (her romance is "platonic" only whatever the frick that means) but GW said they don't care. That's three fricking times Owlcat has lied to justify their moronic and gay decisions.
>but GW said they don't care
Source?
>hate gunslinger
that's based, soul and sense in one
Can we use Guns?
I know guns are a thing in pathfinder, there is a specific class for gun users
No, I'm a liberal and guns scare me, every time I see one I shit diarrhea and also cum because I'm a liberal

On Ganker anons stupidity
I think most of them don't get what "based" mean and use it whenever they want
it's an ironic term anyway and such things are destined for misuse.
>Brawler
What now?
Monk but betterhttps://www.nexusmods.com/pathfinderwrathoftherighteous/mods/207?tab=description
Looks pretty coo-
Oh. That sucks.
From looking at the description you could go wild child and trade out the feats for an animal companion but something about an unarmed combatant attacking from horseback sounds moronic.
it's not.
Monk can make combat maneuvers for free with style strike. Brawler gets fighter's bonus feats but has nothing to really spend them on. Trickster might make it viable but trickster makes everything martial a goddamn cakewalk with its improved critical feat line. I downloaded the mod because I thought it'd be cool, but it was quite underwhelming.
Brawlers can use the same style feats
there are only really two good styles
>Monk can make combat maneuvers for free with style strike.
So can brawler with pummeling style and stunning fist. and it can do it better thanks to combat maneuver bonus
>Brawler gets fighter's bonus feats but has nothing to really spend them on
>combat expertise, crane style, pummeling style, power attack and dragon style aren't worth spending on.
Brawler with TT is a goddamn beast. It can tank with crane style similar to monk and stun, hit very hard as a fighter and gets tons of feats which allows you get everything compared to monk which is somewhat feat starved.
You already get all you need with the regular feats. Pummeling style is only worth it for pounce. Its trip is just a nifty plus. Really, Brawler is only worth it if you refuse to do anything chaotic playing lawful or have an autism about using toybox. The difference between the two classes is damn near nothing besides flavor and restrictions. Brawler's just shittier because it really doesn't need bonus feats in place of ki powers.
>pounce
I think you mean the free trip attack plus the other feat that gives you a free attack after a trip
And yeah, most ki powers are damn near useless or can easily be replaced by other things. Just provides small quality of life stuff in the early game to mid game. Saves you a few barkskin castings, unless you want Traditional for the higher saves.
>Brawler with TT is a goddamn beast
everything is a beast with TT and Darkcodex installed. Arue can now outdps and outdamage Lann with manyshot and the fact that ranger can now deal damage to all demons, Wenduag can now add double the str bonus on her axe throw, Regill can now tank with his heavy armor, increase his hit die and still tons of damage. Mods just makes very companion and class useful which is a good thing.

Actually, that's the point, in medieval times they had no sanitary pads so they used eggs instead, also got infused eggs as a side benefit.
Nope angels don't have genders, they can simply choose to be men or women fi they want to
That's basically all Outsiders tho. Gender doesn't exist to them
No, it's not, this game alone is filled with demons that have clear gender distinctions
yes but they can shapeshift into anything they want.

I would love to see an adaptation of the Year of the Risen Rune series of adventures. I don't think that would ever happen, sadly for me.
What about the one where Lastwall falls to some lich?
Tyrant's Grasp? That one was extremely unpopular with players because it forces your entire party to die in the last book (and in 2e their reward was a gay ass statue.)
the 3rd Pathfinder game will be Iron god. we will get our robot animal companion, gunslinger, chain and energy swords for martialchads and most important of all, a Android waifu to romance. Trust the plan
I don't give a frick about androids I want an erodaemon
Is there a mod for guns?
I guess having Woljiff as my dedicated Greaser was a mistake.
Yes. You can in theory raise his int instead of dex and feed him spell focused feats and he will be able to cast it with a decent dc. But he will still have a more limited spell list, spell slots and slower progression. Thus, pointless.
Only non 9th level caster that can work as a DC caster is the Bard, and I would only do it with Azata honestly.
Oh it's less that and more that he's fricked off from the plot for now. I might have to get Grease on my Commander now if there's still any point in doing so, since she's the only arcane caster in the party now aside from Cam who, you know.
Cam's not an arcane caster and I'm pretty sure she doesn't have grease on her spell list.
Well there you go, I only have one arcane caster in my party because I hate Nenio and Ember is okay but redundant.
It really is great to have a bard/skald merc in this game.
Shame about Nurah.
If they don't let us waifu the AI god you get to help create them they're gays.
You can get him back pretty quick.
You literally have to do the lost chapel and Drezen without him
And?
>Stingy Demodand
>spend all this time prebuffing and planning to kill playful darkness
>spider swarms and mark of justice kills him before I can finish debuffing him
oh, ok
I did the same thing but i had to ranger bond to get extra attack against the damn thing on core.
I had zero faith on these new CRPGs but Paizo has really outdone themselves. New golden age of CRPGs.
>There is a indie game made with 2e ruleset
Cool. I really hope Owlcat make 2e game next

Bro, your gallowspire survivors?
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2388460/Pathfinder_Gallowspire_Survivors/
No way gay. vampire survivor clones sounds like a shit game. Atleast the diablo clone looks somewhat interesting.
they're making that warhammer game
That releases on december.
So when the B team enters maintance and dlc prep mode(they will be mostly done with wrath by then too), the A team goes black to the new game. Whatever that is
>no character creation
moronic
Is it Lawful Good or Chaotic Good if i used mods to change some aspects of the game to suit my needs?

Chaotic

So, how is the new DLC? How is the additions it adds to the main game?
>So, how is the new DLC?
Wait 40 days
>How is the additions it adds to the main game?
Aside from new archetypes being added as part of the general update, the DLC specifically apparently opens up an area/dungeon in chapter 5
>Aside from new archetypes being added as part of the general update
lol no
The archetypes are part of the DLC. It's the new feats that come with the update
It's a shitty side story about low lvl characters in an epic level game.
Been playing around with a Divine Guardian paladin in KM Beneath the Stolen Lands. Are the bugs/quirks of the class still in Wrath? I don't have it installed to check.
You're supposed to be able to swift action lay on hands yourself and your guarded target, but in KM it's a move action so it's basically a downgrade on base paladin's ability.
But you can also Divine Troth *yourself* for the +4 AC bonus (doesn't work against ranged touch attacks but does everything else) which is pretty funny.
>the lord of nothing
that honestly sounds a bit dumb
Literally me
What is the most coolest class in the game and why is it the Alchemist
>can achieve god-tier 80 AC
>can throw tens of dispel & holy bombs at enemies
>can become a great natural weapon slasher
>can give infusion to allies
>can also sneak attack better than a rogue thanks to vivsectionist.
>can't make explosives at will, limited by daily uses
Gayest "class fantasy" ever.
Alchemist Bombs can deal more damage than Wizards gay magic
And Wizards are more versatile and can swap out their entire spell book each rest. Alchemists are good blasters but mediocre at everything else, and what little spells they have access to only affect them and not allies. Alchemists also run out of bombs fairly quickly depending on how much you use them. It's ultimately about what you value more and what kind of character you're trying to play.
>Alchemists are good blasters but mediocre at everything else
Nope. a Alchemist can become a better fighter thanks to Transformation, sense vitals, mutagen and legendary proportions. They also make great skill monkeys
>and what little spells they have access to only affect them and not allies
Infusions
>Alchemists also run out of bombs fairly quickly depending on how much you use them.
Than use them sparingly. You get enough of them in lvl 12 to clear an entire area with it and if you run out just rest. it's not like there is any big penalty from resting aside from corruption
>and what little spells they have access to only affect them and not allies
Bro, your infusion?
If you took grenadier and the extra bombs feats (at least in PKM there was nothing better to blow feats on) you ended up with enormous piles of bombs. I found force tripping bombs to be so effective at ending encounters I didn't even have to use that many of them. Jubilost was easily my MVP and that's before their quality personal buffs like shield and the necro hp ones applied to others. Haven't messed with that build any in WOTR though. I know PKM had several grenadier/alch oriented items over Wrath, so there's that.
WOTR may not have the equipment of PKM but it does allow you to get 13-20 20d6 bombs by going trickster to legend 20 grenadier/20 arcane bomber which will allow you cast your spells at high dc thanks to cognatgen INT and Alchemist capstone, being a skill monkey at almost everything, dispell bombs that has a caster lvl of 40 and bombs with a dc of 62
>13-20 20d6 bombs by going trickster to legend 20 grenadier/20 arcane bomber which will allow you cast your spells at high dc thanks to cognatgen INT and Alchemist capstone, being a skill monkey at almost everything, dispell bombs that has a caster lvl of 40 and bombs with a dc of 62
That's more than a little godlike, I don't know what these people are going on about trying to say alchemist is weak unless it's some tabletop unimaginative grog shit or metaslave fextralife copiers.
Legend builds being moronic is the default.
Any alchemists that do not go trickster or maybe azata are a bit underwhelming. Plus, lack of unique equipment that was existing in the previous game sours things.
No awesome mythic feats that expand or empower options like Abundant casting, or Impossible domain also hurts.
They are still amazing value in a party, buy feels off for an MC. Kinda like brown fur trasnmuter
>No awesome mythic feats that expand or empower options like Abundant casting, or Impossible domain also hurts
Just wait until november
Alchemist is by far the most OP class in both games. even base Alchemist is a good pick for certain classes. Like Azata can just keep buffing himself up with mutagen to the point where he can achieve 60 on all stats and frickhuge natural armor.
>s it's some tabletop unimaginative grog shit
Alchemist is also a beast in TT. it can turn into a freakshit monstrously that can attack x12 times with all of his limbs, fly up to the skies and throw his bombs on everyone or just be a buffbawd for the entire team can also contribute in a fight because it has 15 BAB and can fight with simple weapons
in wotr there's too much full package stuff that keeps going all day long like oracle and vivisectionist for something that comes at a fixed value to seem convenient unless that thing is nenio casting cripple or kill monster if not literally screenwiping the whole encounter
if there was a faster way to just say "yeah you rested and put the same buffs back on" it would be different but people subconsciously or consciously avoid resting because of how robotic it is to do your recharge ritual
Pure vivi is not that hot, even in kingmaker was not. I'd rather take normal alchemist touch AC for a different option than a full martial that is not full bab.
something like knife master4/vivi16 is pretty hot but I'd still take 20 Sword Saint over full BAB
Well yeah, SS has dimension strike.
Few classes can hope to combine damage, consistency to hit and defensive capabilities that well going pure. And they usually do so when they offload survival to a pet
Alchemist is one of Paizo's successes , certainly.
And even Owlcat's homebrew with synthesizer is pretty good.
>Alchemist is one of Paizo's successes
They pissed it all away with 2e's Alchemist though. What a fricking mess.
what exactly is the problem with it and 2nd edition in general?
Because of how 2nd edition change class progression, feats and abilities in general, alchemist suffers.
They have excessive feat taxes if they just want to make bomb throwing descent, at low levels have far too little to do at greater cost (few spells, reagent costs, too few bombs, no cantrip equivalent etc) and even less martial capabilities and with teh actions per round system, alchemist needs to spend too many actiosn to do what otehr classes do in 1(be it a damage spell or a heal spell or a buff ability)..
Finally, it;s harder to prepare the alchemical items you need to pick.
It's like Wizard, only you have less powerful options that are even more niche..
So too many under powered options that cost more resources than everyone.
In 1st edition, you just had buffs that worked like wizard spells and you had your bombs to target touch AC that scaled properly, and you had standard feat progression.
They took away everything great about the class and make it sub-par. We want from a class that can turn himself into Hyde, throw a powerful bomb that kills everything in few hits and being able to achieve Immortality to a mutagen dispenser for Martials.
>zero reading comprehension
No wonder why you like Owlcuck games.
Call me again when the alchemist can make a use all the bombs he wants, not limited by daily uses like "gay magic".
AC is overrated
Stop getting carried by last stand and reach
Better to blast your constitution with enhancement and legendary props with maybe a little polymorph icing while stacking all the resist and damage reduction you have available. Enemies in this game rarely specialize in massive damage like you can unless you're playing on unfair so making them dig through stoneskin+props+polymorph+adamantine+rage will leave enough blood in your body that you can mythic channel back to full without problems.
saving throws are not a joke though you need to have those
What damage reductions actually stack?
Pretty sure taht they don't stack anymore
>It's cheating if you don't stand in the enemy's face eating 5 attacks per round.
These games reward avoiding attacks and making enemies roll to even try to roll to hit far more than stacking AC to irrelevant levels. The super AC memes were popularised by spreadsheet players making build guides, some of whom hadn't even played Wrath before publishing their Unfair guides.
>These games reward avoiding attacks and making enemies roll to even try to roll to hit far
What do you mean? And how?
I guess prioritising surprise round alpha strikes and smart use of crowd control spells for the former? Anything else?
And mirror image/blur/displacement for the latter? Although that seems questionable given the significant portion of the game where enemies with true seeing are everywhere and you don't yet have mind blank to counter that.
Protective Luck hex can't be saved and is a "roll twice, take worst result" effect. Blink is Displacement but not an illusion, so can't be seen through.
But yes, building for dead of cc'd enemies is going to give a lot more value than investing in super high AC that will only make a difference in a small fraction of fights (and everything else still hits on 20s). Skip the monk dip and crane style next time and pick something more useful.
*Dispels you*
I hate this fricked. The fact that they can cast dispel at a caster lvl higher than your lvl on hard and dispell everything is bullshit.
I want more weapons in PF games that have different styles of fighting. something like Weapon traits in 2e where you can shove using maces, deal both piercing & slashing damage with a longsword or throw at the enemy like Starknife. I also wish the thrown weapon mod atleast worked as attended
How do you deal with poisons and diseases in Through the Ashes?
I had the inane idea of making a Bloodrager MC and now I'm dying and have a lot of stat damages
Be undead
Remove sickness and delay poison also prevent disease and poison if you actually read
>rework Assassin

How the frick is the true love ending being """cucked"""
There's that one ending slide that implies she becomes some sort of love-bawd reverse succubus giving the girlfriend experience to thousands of commoners
>mindbroken cuckhomosexual
I only frick Daeran and Wenduag gay
No wonder you're shitposting then
Which mythic paths are garbage? The late game ones I guess?
Yeah, Devil especially is hot fricking garbage and a total downgrade in every single way even from the cringe reddit tier Azata
As a person that only really cares about mechanics, Azata is fun and versatile.
Every time I play Azata I want to kill myself because of all the hippy homosexualry and that homosexual dragon
Eating her when transforming into the swarm was the best thing in the game
Yeah see, im not a schizo so I enjoyed both my Azata playthroughs.
>not schizo=utter homosexual
intredasting...
why yes, someone so warped that they can't stand the idea of freedom and kindness is what we here on Ganker would call a schizo
>carebear=not schizo
intredastinger
>Reinvigorate The Land
>and a total downgrade in every single way
Devil theme is pretty fricking good. Not top 3, but still
>sleep with a chastity-wannabe succ
>her clothes stay on
uh, ok I guess?
>sleep with a feral catspider sociopath barbarian
>her clothes stay on
Hey!
>sleep with a psycho completely immoral degenerate prostitute

What The Hell?
>dudes at least strip into underwear
I hate this. The only pussy you get is Tiger, commander ends up literally a god-level cat lady.
How many gold talent books do you need to get 9/9/9? 100?
>9/9/9
How the frick are you shitposting from the afterlife, Herman, and what is it like?
Does Nature's Whispers from Oracle stack with Shifter's Defensive Instinct?
So, same title, is this the theme song for the expansion?
why the frick are you talking about baldurs gate in here
Finished WOTR as Lich, act 5 and 6 was so tiresome. I wanted this shit to be just over when i got to act 5 so Zacharius was right that by becoming a lich i will have to relinquish my emotions because i had none when i was about to transform.
Game suffers from same shit as kingmaker, too long and 'boss fights' are not interesting at all. Some trash mobs are more annoying than bosses.
I had fun putting incompetent people, traitors and fools in their place as lich tho.
Lich had great music theme and great gameplay i hope other paths won't be shit or weak comparing to it. Wish i could ally with Baphomet, but that's only because his voice actor was great.
>Finished WOTR as Lich, act 5 and 6 was so tiresome
People complain the same about BG3 and most other long RPGs.
Its just kinda hard to keep interest for about 100 hours per campaign when by the end most people are wondering about trying a new build or this other vidya that came out, but the genre makes it really hard to pick back up after a period of not playing so you force yourself to keep going.
I don't. I never get tired of BG2, for example
Meh, In-between athkatla visits, I only kinda enjoy parts of drow city, not the whole udnerdark
Obviously theres exceptions depending on your taste, but "by the end I just wanted to be done with it" is probably the most common complain I usually see with most RPGs that have a really long campaign.
NTA but I'm fine with WotR. It's long, but it's engaging.
sounds more like a complaint about the Lich path, and I can confirm the complaint if that's the case. Lich was a real let down for me. Mechanically it was neat, but the story was decidedly meh.
The whole mechanic of resting in both Wrath and Kingmaker is idiotic for quest design that's oriented around the passage of time. I think this is my biggest gripe with these games, though it's worse in Wrath especially for early in the game. It creates a system that punishes players for using their class abilities should they wish to complete quests optimally, so you're stuck with either being hyper conservative regarding spells and class abilities or be exhausted during fights that really count.
Resource management is part of the genre
I don't think this is a good implementation of resource management, though. Resting takes 8 hours to a full day depending on how much you need to recover, and in Act 1 of Wrath everything moves hourly. So if you take roughly 3 rests in Act 1 you've fricked yourself on quest progression. It's so bizarre to me that Owlcat thought was a good idea on how to start the game when the whole rest of the game is immune to this mechanic being a major issue. Hell, even Kingmaker had a much better way of handling this, Act 1 is still heavily affected by time but it doesn't actively punish you for using the rest feature, though Kingmaker has a different problem where time limits get more stringent as the game goes on.
>if you take roughly 3 rests in Act 1 you've fricked yourself on quest progression
it's really not that big of a deal
My biggest issue is mostly with the travelling taking time aspect with regards to buffing. You have like 50 buffs to apply and they are absolutely needed to beat the game in anything over normal difficulty, and travelling dispels your buffs, so its usually like
>enter area
>buff up in case of big battle, takes like 10 minutes
>turns out area is just a quick thing
>leave area
>travel to next
>even 24hr buffs have expired by the time you reach it
>have to rest most likely
>rebuff again
I realised in the abyss chapter where you dont have to travel all the time in the overworld so you get to keep your buffs and shit that that aspect was a LOT less annoying and that having it doesnt really add anything to the game other than some tedium.
well why did you play on something above core when you hadn't even beaten the game yet?
I didnt? Im playing core and on my first run, theres lot of bosses/optional bosses that require you to be fully buffed and you have no indication of where they will be, so either you savescum a lot or you buff all the time, both are just timewasting design.
I dont think its a major flaw as I still love the game, but its just annoying
Take enduring spells and use an invisible thief to time out shorter duration buffs if you must. 10 minute+ buffs are enough to last for clearing a map.
I have greater enduring spells, but even them lasting 24hours means them needing to be refreshed between maps, I have no problem within the same map
I think if you put some effort into it you can swing through 2 or 3 of the maps that are close together or predict when you need to rest on arrival and fully buff just the one time.
Use your teleportation circles.
Sure, maybe a better designed system would just let you expend the slot to turn on a passive that's always on
but this isn't that, this is pathfinder, based on DnD 3.5. the old crustiness is historical.
Yeah I mean, again, its just a minor gripe of mine. I can live with the current system, as I think also most ways to streamline it ends up being worse.
The only reason it's a problem is Owlcat's failure to integrate something like Bubble Buffs into the game.
Resting and spellslot management is a fundamental part of 3.pf gameplay, to change that would require a serious rework of the entire rules. Of course, in tabletop play you can just say "I apply all the our usual buffs" and that's it, done. Having to cast everything individually is what makes it such a chore in the game and by extension that's what makes makes resting a chore.
>The only reason it's a problem is Owlcat's failure to integrate something like Bubble Buffs into the game.
This, they avoid QoL for some moronic belief that friction is a part of "balance" in video games. Owlcat has a real problem with trying to make a "tough" game in genre that isn't tough.
>>buff up in case of big battle, takes like 10 minutes
Unironically a skill issue. I guess that could be an issue for console players who, I assume, have a clunkier interface, but if you're playing a crpg on a c, it should not take you that long to figure out what buffs you need and to cast them. Absolute skill issue.
Unironically moronic response, it's tedious, anon.
There's nothing wrong with more casual gameplay, per se, just as there's nothing wrong with a car with soft suspension. The issue is that certain types of cars are not meant to have soft suspension. In a luxury car or a daily driver you want soft suspension, because that's the experience you're going for. In a more performance oriented car, you do not want a soft suspension because that takes away from the experience of a sports car.
CRPGs are not meant for casual play. There are fun casual games, but you don't go to CRPGs for casual gameplay. You go to CRPGs because you want something that's difficult, that's fiddly, that you have to mess with and tinker with. Unironically, it isn't a bug its a feature.
>MUH CASUAL
Shut the frick up I've beaten the game on hard several times, and the combat is absolutely nothing special you just click the enemies and they die
It's all about picking as many buffs as possible and prebuffing, then buffing a little bit more in combat (like with mark of justice) and you need a shitton of them on higher difficulties, which is a massive pain in the ass to do because you literally have to spend minutes buffing every character
>It's all about picking as many buffs as possible and prebuffing
Skill issue.
Basic QoL isn't casualization. Are you actually an Owlcat developer? Or do you have stock in wrist braces and want to encourage mindless clicking?
>CRPGs are not meant for casual play
El oh el. PF rules are for a turbo-casual tabletop RPG and you need to go out of your way and add moronic stat bloat on a custom difficulty only to create the need of using every single buff. You might be mentally challenged for real if you believe this shitshow is "hard".
does acting like this impress people anon? does it make them like you?
Kinda, most people like sincere comments.
There is always that one contrarian moron that defends the indefensible
not sure how it is on pc but one thing that just happened to me on console is going to Nexus to switch party members and having my arcanist instantly empty his entire arcane reservoir for no reason before I could finish buffing everyone
some functions in this game are just totally broken for no reason but they leave them in anyway as if they work properly
Sure, which is why I made the comment about console that I did. I know a console port of something like this is going to be jank at best, so I get how buffing could be prohibitively tedious as a console player. I just don't see that as valid critique if you're on PC.
>on my way to a random place
>suddenly I hear someone chanting a spell
>8 Dretch pop outside of invisibility to cast 8 stinking clouds centered around my party
dammit, this shit is funny ONCE
>not sure how it is on pc
better, somewhat
>install bubblebuffs mod
>go to spellbook and open the new menu
>there you can see every spell and ability from the party
>click the spell/ability
>decide which of the 3 buttons to use to use that spell to group them
>decide how many characters gets the spell/ability
>forbid certain characters to cast in case the caster is ambiguous and you need a character with all slots usable
>when finished use the buttons on screen to use all buffs bound to a group instantly and without casting time
it changes a lot how you play, for example the basic buffs cantrips are actually decent to have on at the start, doing on hand it's a pain and chances is that they fade way before you can use them
>It creates a system that punishes players for using their class abilities should they wish to complete quests optimally, so you're stuck with either being hyper conservative regarding spells and class abilities or be exhausted during fights that really count.
It's mainly bad because some class abilities are absurdly powerful compared to others and the only balancing factor in the pen and paper system is limited uses per day, which either stops mattering by mid-game, or players will just cheese it by resting every few battles and spend two weeks in a dungeon that narrative lasts an hour.
These rules were never designed for computer games without a living DM.
This. some TT mechanics cannot be translated into a vidya game.
tabletop also isn't meant to be a gauntlet of 900 fights over 100 hours
What's some interesting options for a healer? I'm tired of having a cleric every time, so last time I tried a water kineticist with healing stuff on the side, and that worked too. What else is there that's not obvious at the first glance?
Never touched potion brewing, could you possibly subsit on that as your main source of healing, or perhaps crafting healing spell scrolls at home base and using those with Use Magic Device? Seems like a pain though compared to just spamming channel to heal your party
Giving everyone fast healing using bard/skald songs with that hat
>What's some interesting options for a healer?
Witch(hex channeler is shit just use base) with the healing or devotion patron. Witch doctor shaman. Bards and skalds can spontaneously cast cure wounds. Inquisitor, warpriest, and paladin(particularly hospitaler) can do some. Scroll savants can cast scrolls at their caster level.
>Never touched potion brewing,
Not that great without mythic brew.
>could you possibly subsit on that as your main source of healing
You're better off just buying potions.
>crafting healing spell scrolls
just buy them
>using those with Use Magic Device? Seems like a pain though compared to just spamming channel to heal your party
Unless you want to be ultra efficient with the 300+ scolls you bought/found by having Nenio cast them you just right click from inventory, use until fully healed.
Channel is just so much more convenient than any other option.
Life oracle isn't exactly a non-obvious method but it's there. Same for druids.
In tabletop you can replace a healer with wands but that would require mods. Trying to use potions/scrolls just seems like it'd be masochistically inconvenient.
You could try going for two half-casters. In KM I found the combination of Linzi and Jaethal could make up for the lack of Harrim or Tristian if I felt like leaving them behind. LInzi's Soothing Performance especially helped.
Incidentally, I kind of want to make Jaethal into a druid for my 2nd KM playthrough but they don't have any access to inflict spells.
Does anyone know if Soothing Mud and Blessing of the Salamander work on undead? And, if so, do you reckon that'd be sufficient healing for her in the absence of inflict spells?
I'm guessing yes to the former and frick no to the latter.
Literally every time I've seen someone post their list of essential pre-buffs there's been some that provide the same bonus types and don't do anything.
Some buffs are available earlier than others even if they give the same type of bonus. Bards and skalds can cast good hope long before wizards can cast heroic invocation. When your wizard does get HI your bard/skald just uses the spell slot for something else.
Barkskin, Shield of Faith, Heroism/Good Hope/Heroic Invocation, remove fear, prayer, burst of glory, Legendary Proportions, animal buff communal spells, crusader's edge, death ward, true seeing, mind blank communal, rage, and displacement.
>no free action
I guess you made an attempt
Freedom of movement? Really not that important. You've got several pairs of shoes and a ring for that.
yeah I'm sure that looks like enough when you're playing a spreadsheet instead of the game wetbrain-kun
stop smoking weed
It really isn't. You won't be getting hit in the first place for staggering critical to work, Klavacus' enslave soul lasts a single round, and waves of ecstacy won't do shit against you with mindblank
you don't need to worry about the end game because the end game is easy, the start of the game is the part you actually plan for, when being able to walk through your own cc spells is actually helpful, and straight up denying all hold spells is never irrelevant.
I have never once failed a vital will save for a hold spell. Also, Daeran gets remove paralysis. It's really not that big of a deal. You're going to want selective magic on Nenio too.
>You're going to want selective magic on Nenio too.
Literally why? So you can arbitrarily shoot prismatic sprays through your own party members instead of walking 10 steps? Seems dumb to waste a feat on something that can be solved by hot swapping game modes, on a character who has smart-target on all her relevant end game CC anyways.
Also, saying dumb shit like "I've totalled never failed a save when it mattered :^)" makes you look like an actual clown.
yes
there are some very tight spaces in the game
lol, you mad?
Yes anon your presence is irritating and people feel negative emotions from interacting with you. You are annoying.
You can use the item slots for better items. There is no need to use items if you can get a 24h buff for the same effect.
Buffs should be streamlined, there shouldn't be more than ten at the most. The emphasis should be casting spells like the pits and poison fog type spells instead.
>put on every buff in the game to fight the Druid Lich guy at Wintersun.
>the unique Lich dialogue makes it redundant.
You don't have to take it.
>he just dies to multicharge opener
that fight isn't particularly hard though so you're not missing out on much. Also pick related.
meant to say pic related not pick related, did a goof.
t. dickless cuck laughed at by succ prostitutes
>the anime meaning it unironically
I finally gave in and went turn-based and the game is much better
Bullshit.Trash mob fights are a pain in the ass and you obivously didn't try it.
NTA but I played all of wotr on turn based and had fun. I was playing as a paladin so making demons explode was its own reward.
The defend the tavern was pretty tedious though, iirc it goes on for like 35 turns.
zoom zoom
A good team kills chaff quickly.
>give Arue cleaving shot
>give Ember a maximize rod
>play as a angel, Azata or Lich and nuke the entire map
There are so many options to kill trash mobs in these game that you don't need RTWP to speed things up
>>give Arue cleaving shot
Wenduag does it better because Rowdy's Vital Strike will raise Cleaving Shot's damage into the hundreds (the main shot does 200+ on it's own) and for some reason works partially on AoO.
It was VERY funny when I cleared the demodand conspiracy room with all the archers that don't bring PBM
Not everyone has ADHD, anon.
I congratulate you on making the correct choice. I've done multiple full playthroughs of both Wrath and KIngmaker all on turn based, and I have no clue how people can even stand RTWP
The game isn't really built around turn based, it's basically journalist mode and trivializes everything.
>implying it's difficult in rtwp mode
kek
>uhm... ackhtully the real challenge is knowing that need get all the teamwork feats and instantly win all encounters in a+click
I want to see a fight between him and Aeon. Imagine the bantz
Why is the game so obtuse about stacking bonuses? I just now realised that heroic invocation and heroism dont stack given I just learned how the different types of bonuses dont stack cause dumb, but the game has a built-in indication for this kind of shit and says nothing on heroic invocation for example
they do stack kinda, greater heroism doesn't provide a damage bonus but has a bonus to skills/saving throws.
Just install bubble buffs. Set it up in like 30 minutes and then never think about it again
Usually (but not always) buffs of the same type (i.e. morale, luck, profane, etc) don't stack. It's legitimately awful and a lot of players just cheat the game with mods in order to "fix" that problem.
>having to be able to read is "awful"
It does tell you they're both morale bonuses. Regardless, having both greater heroism is meta because you get saving throws from herosim and damage rolls and immunity from invocation
Reminder that if you
>get a dip
>use Gravesinger
>Merge spellbook
>used Phantasmal killer or Wierd
>used CC spells
>get a animal companion
>used loremaster for trickster feats
>used bolt of justice
>used any Mythic powers
>go Legend
>used absolute death
>used the Aroden relics

Why can't Companions get Mythic path powers?
Why are you so moronic?
I was born this way
They DO get mythic powers, moron-kun
Mythic powers doesn't refer exclusively to growing wings and turning into an angel or a demon
And i also said MYTHIC PATH powers, Black person-san. Why is Commander the only one to get MYTHIC PATH powers
because he's the only one on a mythic path. did you not pay attention to the story?
>because he's the only one on a mythic path.
And why aren't the other companions on it too? Does Regill not want to become a powerful LE devil or Arue a Azata
All of your questions are answered in the story. I assume by your questions you have not finished the story, so I will not spoiler it for you.
>other companions on it too?
Because it will break the game more and make every fight a cakewalk even more so than it is on Normal. Azata and Angel can break the game as early as mythic lvl 4, now imagine if there was a Angel+Azata on the team
Because of Areelu's mythic juice, the tabletop also had "paths" that are nothing more than uber classes, in this game they ignore it and give everyone the mythic feats and/or abilities for free regarldess of path
The commander is the only mythic being in the party, the rest are just getting their powers from proximity to you
What's the best weapon if i want to do a Trickster crit prostitute build
Grave singer
Any weapon with a x3-4 multiplier. Trickster can just increase the crit range on any weapon so a weapon with high crit range is unnecessary unless you are feat starved. also download Mods that allow you to double your sneak daamge on crit and maxim your crit damage
Kukri Dual Wield or 2-H Fauchard (also known as Frick-Hard)
Grave Singer is basically the same as Fauchard
Go to the wiki, check any weapon type with a 18-20 crit range, pick one
There you go
>play fighter
>grab two holy scimitars
>grab all the dual wielding feats
>get them to 11-20
>lvl up fighter to 20 and get the weapon mastery feat.
You can now Crit at every attack. Don't forget to give everyone combat reflexes, outflank and sieze the moment
>outflank and seize the moment
they don't combine
Or does having both get around the limitation that outfank can only give each character max. one attack per round?
They both stack and chain. If you get a crit it provokes two AoO and if your ally crits on their attack it keeps chaining.
This is how it's supposed to work.
>They both stack and chain. If you get a crit it provokes two AoO
quick googling says you are wrong. It may show two attacks in the animations, but only one attack happens if you check combat log. No stacking.
Chainining is what I asked about.)
It worked for me in kingmaker and it's how it's supposed to work in tabletop
>It worked for me in kingmaker
no, you thought it worked
No. I played on console and it worked because I can add and subtract hp. I KNOW it worked. Seize also lets archers start chains from out of range.
>console
I mean, in situtation when there are two distinc crits that can trigger it in the turn.
>1st crit get AOO reactions from outflank
>2nd crit in the same round will get AOO reactions from Seize the moment?
What natural attacks stack with each other? I'd like to make a shifter, it sucks, I know, but I'm wondering if the claws you get from draconic bloodline or abyssal bloodline stack with the claws you get from shifter.
>I'd like to make a shifter, it sucks, I know
No it fricking doesn't, who told you that?
Also natural attacks don't stack anymore, shifter specifically gets an ability to attack multiple times with natural attacks
So there's no point taking other classes that have claws, bites, and the like if you go shifter? Just trying to get as many natural attacks as possible without going Demon Mythic.
you can flurry with claws as a scaled fist
>without going Demon Mythic
you can pick close to abyss as your first mythic level mythic hero ability and it doesn't lock you into demon, I went azata and the horns and gore attack stayed. No downsides I think, so just get a bite and you are done.
Witch hex will actually give you an extra bite attack if you already have one from being a kitsune or whatever, and demon path gives you the extra gore attack
Does the Nails hex give an extra claw attack or no?
no it just turns your unarmed attack into a claw attack
the niche purpose of this is not provoking AoO without improved unarmed attack but it's improbable that you won't have a monk dip as a nakey beast body
If you want to play a werewolf then wait until november
Are they making a werewolf class?
No, an archetype, weretouched (wolf, tiger, rat) the new DLC is adding 15 new archetypes
What archetypes are they going to drop? I don't follow social media, so I don't hear about these things.
>Hag-Riven (Bloodrager),
>Winter Child (Druid),
>Dark Sister (Witch),
>Flesheater (Barbarian),
>Separatist (Cleric),
>Dual-Cursed Oracle,
>Prophet of Pestilence (???),
>Geomancer (Sorcerer),
>Reanimator (Alchemist),
>Ghost Rider (Cavalier),
>Tandem Executioner (Hunter),
>Tortured crusader (Paladin),
>Dark Lurker (Rogue),
>Weretouched (Shifter)
>Shadowcaster (Wizard).
They haven't been revealed yet, it's all datamined
on console using any shadow spell will instantly crash the game
>>Dark Sister (Witch),
Aren't demons mostly immune to mind-affecting magic?
No?
only gallus
>Geomancer (Sorcerer)
>not Phoenix Blooded
Oh ffs
Your'e not getting your phoenix mythic path anon, move on
We were so close. So FRICKING close.
>play as a werewolf
>have to give up your aspect of horse(wiener)
Knot sure that's worth it.
Which one does Arue like more
Most women prefer girth to length.
Alas horsewiener has it beaten in both. Should have included the monstrous physique spell to transform into a minotaur
Guess Aruebros will need to pass on werewolf and stay with basic shifter.
I'll pass on both
lol
what's going on here?
Just vanilla sex between the commander and Arue
How is your commander a frickhueg demon?
Demon spellbook. It has four demonic form spells that let you transform into different demons
Huh. Neat. I keep meaning to do a Demon playthrough. How is Arue still with you, though? I thought she bails on you if you go Demon.
I was playing legend, I just used toybox to include those spells in my spellbook. There is also an option to force companions that would normally leave to stay with you but I haven't used it
I thought merged spellboooks stay
You can't merge spellbook aside from Angel and lich. you have to use mods
Arue bails, then comes back as evil arue some time later when you go demon
That's evil Arue. Anon is asking who he romanced her as a demon if you don't corrupt her
No she doesn't, she just disappears from the game. For her to come back evil in act 5 you have to turn her evil in act 4, that has nothing to do with her leaving in the demon path or not
>woman cries after sex
this was supposed to be a fantasy game
I did it boys
...you do know how to take a screenshot on windows, right?
but anon I'm playing on PS4
the load times are excruciating
holy shit
why?
my friend, that is pain
>have so much mods that even Hard feels like core.
God bless Table Top Tweaks & Darkcodex. i can't play the game without it
The game? Yeah, you didn't beat it
non-argument when Yandere Dev (an actual troon) cannot beat any game without altering the code and modding it. If mods are a necessity for completion then you shouldn't be playing video games to begin with.
>i can't play the game without it
That means you aren't good at the game.
Cope. being able to play a martial without taking a ten dips into scaled fist and vivi is better.
i was with you about playing the game the way you want, but this post just confirmed theirs.
I wanna do a full playthrough of Wrath again but new DLC comes out in over a month. Should I wait until the DLC comes out or should I do a new playthrough anyway?
I don't know, you tell me. Are you really that desperate to play that you can't wait a month?
fair enough.
You can always play Kingmaker
True and just about to do that now that you mentioned it.
Give me one reason to play as a non-Human race
Better stat distribution. Humans only get +2 to one attribute whereas every other races gets +2 to two attributes (aside from half-orcs and basic half-elves). That is the predominant reason for playing non-human.
>stat distribution
Irrelevant. One extra feat>
. Stats can be increased a number of ways in this game
>One extra feat>
Hard disagree on that when most of the feats are completely worthless, especially at level 1 character creation and through early levels. Why would I pass up having beefy attributions, resistances, and other features for having shitty stats and a feat that isn't worth it?
>t when most of the feats are completely worthless,
skill issue. one extra feat allows your ranged or blaster caster build to come online early, it also allows a martial to get weapon focus+power attack+dazzling display at lvl 1 too. one feat can make a lot of difference in this game
>beefy attributions
not worth it because you can increase stats permenantly in a lot of ways
If I'm using a great weapon on my barbarian I have zero reason to take an extra feat at character creation. Why would I trade having 20 strength and 18 con at the start allowing me to decimate practically everything that comes my way when I can have shitty stats for something gay like power attack that I'll end up getting anyway?
>muh can get stats later
Same with feats, what's your point? Also you're telling me you'd rather waste your helmet and belt slots on stat boosts and purposefully miss out on other broken gear just so you can get power attack a few levels earlier than normal? There is zero reason to pick human over other races, playing human is a straight up disadvantage.
Because an extra feat is a million times more important than a small stat boost you dumb giga moron
>Also you're telling me you'd rather waste your helmet and belt slots on stat boosts
Or maybe you could use magic, how about that?
By the point you get some good gear you will get access to Spells that will boost your stats. again, one feat>>>>> stats. it's the reason why only Humanchads can only clear the Starstone test to achieve godhood
>muh spells
mutagens and buffs that increase your stats don't stack with your gear and don't go beyond +4. By mid and late game they're a waste of a slot.
>Because an extra feat is a million times more important
No it isn't. You don't need gorrillions of feats in order to have an optimal character. By the time you reach level 16 you're selecting feats simply because you have to choose feats and none of them will be relevant to your build. It's not worth it to get a single extra feat in char creation just to have shit attribute spread, unless your build is so hyper specific that feats are a requirement in order for it to function.
>mutagens
Give you an alchemical bonus, not an enhancement one
Stopped reading right there
that doesn't change the fact that your spells that increase stats do not stack with your gear and have limits. You're gimping your character by playing human in a build that isn't feat heavy.
Mutagen stacks and you don't need more than 20 str and 20 dex to win the game, more is just redundant.
>You don't need gorrillions of feats in order to have an optimal character
Yes you do. Wizards need to get extra dc and sepll pen, Martial to get all the useful feat for displooming and cleaving builds, Archer needs like 6 feats to become viable, Alchemist bombs and songs. You definitely need tons of feats to become OP in this game
>Wizards need to get extra dc and sepll pen, Martial to get all the useful feat for displooming and cleaving builds,
Half of the martial feats are useless. There's only two or three feats you need as a martial unless you're doing a dex and/or dual wielder, the rest is just wankery. Zero reason at all to pick dazzling display when scrolls of doom are so common. As for Wizards specifically, the spells in this game are so busted that going through the effort of picking meta magic feats is just needless overkill.
>There's only two or three feats you need as a martial
Nope. if you are doing a ranged marital build you absolutely need one extra feat to get precise shot early unless you want to miss every time you shoot.
>Zero reason at all to pick dazzling display when scrolls of doom are so common.
> the spells in this game are so busted that going through the effort of picking meta magic feats is just needless overkill.
Stop playing on normal.
>Stop playing on normal
I don't, and I'll start playing on normal as soon as you stop playing on normal and learn how to approach higher difficulties without thinking you need a gorillion feats that aren't even worth it to begin with.
post your build then, show us philistines your genius
You thought that mutagens can't stack with stat boosting gear, excuse me, but I don't believe you
>Wizards need to get extra dc
Feats like Spell Focus which give +1 DC to a single school of spells (maybe a +1 to 2 schools if you have expanded arsenal)?
+2 int gives +1 DC to every school AND extra spells per day. The stat increase is way better.
>Plus 2 on two stats helps when you have classes that really benefit from multiple stats and you do not just want a 20, especially early game where you are not drowned in belts and buffs
>Certain races get default weapon profs that are nice (like bow)
>Some race abilities actually matter(elf spell pen, extra bite from qlippoth spawn, the stacking charimsa half elves used to get, kitsune free pounce) or are just quirky (dhampir with negative energy)
>A couple race exclusive classes are actually good/fun (halflinsg for cavalier of the paw).
Free choice of +2 and a feat is still hard to beat, but Elf wizard is a good choice
>kitsune free pounce
>requires two feats to use
>situational use
>free
I guess
Vulpine pounce is a single feat that needs just 10 bab as kitsune
besides what other Anons said about stat distribution and unique perks, in tabletop it makes even better to choose other races because they have some bonuses to specific classes.
examples:
>Aasimar sorcerer gets 1/4 caster level to spells when he casts spells with good description
>halfling bloodrager gets +1/4 dodge bonus to CA against enemies with a bigger size that him when bloodraging
I wish these things were added to the games, it adds a lot to building characters.
Ah, and of course humans, having a bigger dick and everything, get a bonus with every class compared to some races simply having just some of them
Kitsune getting Pounce at the cost of a single feat
two feats
????
the feat's only prereq is 10 BAB and being kitsune
Also extra natural attacks, can't have too many of them (especially with the second to last DLC adding a mask that gives you an extra bite if you have one)
>What were they thinking?
I don't see how it's a problem in the first place, not trying to be mean.
Is demon path viable for casters? Many of the early abilities for demon path give you natural weapons and seem very close combat focused.
Yes it is. but all of it is tied to demonic rage and it's very limited
A couple aspects give you extra DC and spellpen iirc, but by the time you get them you've probably gotten all you want from your build.
Any pure caster can dip crossblooded sorcerer to do more damage with hellfire ray than any mythic path option gives you. Even Ember can do murder damage by stacking two draconic bloodlines.
(15d6+15+15) 19-20/x3 on a double improved crit. That's a potential of 120 or 360 per ray to start with, then there's big dope staff that can empower+maximize it at the start of every fight by casting three cantrips before battle. If you get it on a divine caster there's the armor that gives +2 per die and if you wear the robe that amplifies damage and somehow get it to trigger for you it's another +2. Without even bringing up the free bonuses from any mythic path an Oracle 19/Crossblooded 1 can deal ((15d6+15+15+30+30)*1.5) 19-20/x3 Maximized 3 times and then fire another quickened one with either maximize or empower for another 3 shots. Or you could use True Strike to fire a boosted polar ray that will almost definitely certainly hit even on a demon lord as long as you time it right.
Caster is always viable.
Let me rephrase my question, then. What I meant to ask was, do I miss out on demon path features by playing a pure caster class?
No demon rage will buff your DCs and your ally martial
dope.
To give you an idea, when you are rank 4 (which can happen early in chapter 3 before engaging most quest areas), you will have a +3 to your dc that stacks
It can increase spell DC,make all spells persistent, lower enemy saves, increase damage on spells and you can get a permanent +6 to Int.It‘s great and one of the best paths for cc casters.
Oh and you can cast spells as move actions.
And get azata roll twice ability too. The only problem is that Demonic rage itself is too much limited.
>problem is that Demonic rage itself is too much limited.
Yes, Demon was neutered by this. A shame, really.
>Demon
lol
mop that cum up, wagie
kek
>he doesn't Unleash the Demonic Rage
>Kingmaker swarm enemies are the bane of your existence early game
>Wrath swarm enemies are a joke and non-issue
Kingmaker swarms stay AIDS the entire game IMO and get worse in the late-game when Mandragora swarms get introduced. Meanwhile in Wrath you can blitz swarms easily even without the DLC necklaces. Also shout-out to playing Lich and taking the power that reduces the STR of whatever you hit with unarmed/natural attacks, because since Swarms have 1 STR normally, that bonis effect instantly kills swarms.
Wait really? There must be STR draining weapons, gotta look into those. Man. and I had such a hard time in Lepper's Smile (trying to get through without reload so that I could grab all the loot you aren't supposed to without penalties).
Dunno if there are STR-draining weapons (especially that early into the game), but the Lich power obviously won't come into play until you become a Lich at the end of Chapter 2. Do note however that because Owlcat are homosexuals, the special snowflake swarm enemies in the Shifter DLC area have some extra STR, so they don't get instagibbed by you breathing on them (you have Swarmbane necklaces at that point so the point is moot, but still).
It was funny to insta-gib anything Xanthir threw at me during his boss fight, it basically made it into a joke.
>Kingmaker swarms stay AIDS the entire game
Not really in the late game you can nuke them with meta magic horrid wilting.
Nah swarms become less of an issue later in Kingmaker because you can cast delay poison communal or just regular delay poison on your tank and at that point you also have enough casters that can spam multiple fire attacks and buying alchemist fire and acid isn't a money sink. Early game it's a nightmare because the only weapon you can damage with is a torch, you have no spell slots, and you can't really stock up on alchemist fire and acid without becoming bankrupt or just wasting your money to prepare for hyper specific encounters.
Should i keep Camellia alive or not? She is evil and obnoxious af but has some good bantz with Lann and Daeran. i want to also romance her and Arue at the same time because i find both of them hot
>Being a maprostitute
>Saying she's obnoxious and still wanting to romance her
Pump and dump
Kek, based. i also did the same thing initially but wanted to see if i could fix her in her quest.
You can actually not fix her
it's a shame you can't frick Nurah
You can't romance any halfling in these games at all. Not being able to romance Linzi I guess is fine considering what happens to her at the end and how awkward that would be, but why not Nura? Can't she be spared and redeemed? Is Owlcat just anti-hobbit? Are their devs starving and angry at the prospect of having 8 meals a day? Are their toes so soft that they can't cope with hairy feet? What gives?
>But why not Nurah?
Because she's a minor fricking act 2 villain that's why
And Demon path players can bang Nocticula, what's your point?
honestly, I wouldn't mind if they gave us more Targona content outside Angel path too, even if not a romance itself. I'd like either one or both.
Never ever though
No unless you're playing a character that would tolerate serial murder.
>Camellia
>hot
low standards kek
Forbid her from killing, see how long you can keep her as a toy, frick her until you kill her when it becomes inevitable.
You can't frick her if you don't allow her to keep killing
welp, what is done is done
Arueshalae has USEFUL trickery too, wink
Well, I got the scene where you check her out on the balcony, although I told her she is not allowed to murder after railing her in the cellar.
Could be because I have the "love is free" option ticked in toybox (for less effort playing).
I see. so i guess i should just kill her than.
Can any of you make a new thread
depends, How much are you paying?
Almost as much as the monad pays an aeon
fair enough. you can migrate to the newly created thread anytime you want now
Is eldritch knight a meme? It just seems like being a magus does the whole thing better, being able to wear armor and what not
>Is eldritch knight a meme?
Yes.
Being able to wear armour is irrelevant when archmage armour exists, magi are unable to use two-handed weapons if they want to use spell combat whereas spell critical can be used with anything, and the magus spell list is extremely shit compared to a full caster.
That being said, eldritch knight mostly just exists because it's been carried over from 3.5e where it was one of the first prestige classes published, being published well before any other gish options were really available.
Gishes as a whole are memes. They will never attack as well as a proper fighter or cast as well as a proper caster. If you want a class that can fight and cast, play a cleric or an oracle.
Is it worth it as a legend? My understanding is you can get CL20+ and bab, but I figure still not as good as full focus
lol, no
jesus fricking christ, no
just leave the casting to the casters
>Gishes as a whole are memes. They will never attack as well as a proper fighter or cast as well as a proper caster. If you want a class that can fight and cast, play a cleric or an oracle.
I disagree with the other two anons. I played a lich into legend for my first playthrough and I had a great time. Might not be unfair viable but cruised through hard.
Went with a sylvan sorcerer 9/eldritch knight 10/hell knight signifer 4/loremaster 6/sohei 11
>BAB of 31 with 2 extra attacks from flurry, iirc I ended up with 11 or 12 attacks per round with demon gore, witch bite and haste.
>CL 28 for 24h round/level spells and 10th level spells
>Full leveled mount so you can always full attack
>Retain access to all the incredible lich spells
>Spell critical for swift action casting
>Loremaster for easy feats and cleric spell access
Buffs such as Power From Death (+8 untyped attack bonus after Daeran summons some leopards to die for me), Vampiric Blade (1d6+28 dmg/hit and you heal whatever damage you do) and Divine Power (+6 luck bonus) more than make up the difference in offence compared to pure martials while 24h Deny Death, Displacement and whatever else you want cover you/your mount defensively. You've got enough of a caster level to hit Areelu with a swift action Corrupt Magic.
And because most of your spell slots will be spent on 24h buffs, you have a ton of endurance.
If you wanted to go chaotic I reckon you could do something even better with mad dog barbarian levels. That'd get you pounce and with spirited charge that translates to something like 10 attacks all doing double damage.
>more than make up the difference in offence compared to pure martials
it's adorable that you believe this
Alright, more than make up the difference was overstating it. They're certainly enough for you to go toe-to-toe with anyone you want, at least on hard.
If you don't care about 10th level spells you could push your BAB up a little. If you're willing to rely on magic items like Fiery Spellweaver to reach CL 25 for 24h haste etc then you can push your BAB up higher still.
>10th level spells
God, those are shit
Like, holy shit are they bad.
For Lich, maybe.
angel gets all the most ridiculous fricking toys aside from trickster
Kingmaker was better than WOTR anyways
