No, they get paid to do it. For those who don't know Drops enabled is another word for advertisements, a partnership/ marketing contract to promote the game.

THe only person i saw making money in that was the Manscape ad.

Pic related.
What is Streaming? It's a business. What are Drops? They're an advertisement based reward system for viewers to participate in the game of their favored streamer.
How does this Benefit the viewer? By watching the Streamer for an allotted time they are gifted an in game item set by the Drop campaign.
How does this benefit the Streamer? By participating in the Drops campaign the Streamer earns revenue based on the time viewed and Drops activated.

Thanks lad, the one I'd be curious about is the OTK/ Mizkif because Asmongold was asked specifically by his friend if he was partnered by his friend on stream, to which he hesitated to answer then changed the subject.

Nah, you just think MMORPG titans can ever happen again. Market and player base is simply too fractured for us to get another WoW that simply dominates the entire scene. There's a finite number of players around interested in MMORPGs.
agree with you. the next big one will be a VR MMO.

There are 2 kinds of MMO players.
One are the addicted. They will takl about other mmos maybe even play them. But they have there drug of choice and will return to it come hell or highwater. Every time they release something for there favorite game they are going to be there and say its the best.
The other type of player is the Forever Looking. Those are the people that got a hit back in the day from an MMO and it was so great they wander the MMO space looking for the next thing to give them that high. They will constantly talk about how great the past was and flock to any new thing if its in there idea of what could be. Only to be dissapointed not getting the high and then say MMOs are dead and it was a trash and they told you it was going to be.
Probably because there was.
Then MOBAS, BR and now Gacha has taken the mantle.
Probably will rotate back to MMOs at some point as companies realize that millennials are going to have all the boomer money starting in about 5 years.
era of lifetime commitment like your ultima online, everquest or early wow is over. no one actually expects you to play modern mmorpgs that way, and the disconnect hasn't really set in for older players.
Problem is most likely time investment. When your online friends are hopping from game to game you don't really want to commit weeks just to catch up with them. You can see MMORPGs trying to counter this with various means of instant gratification which just ended up watering everything down. It's difficult to explain how important that "/oom or flying somewhere, I guess I'll chat with my guild for couple of minutes" is until you lose it.

They pushed Mythic with the money to make a WoW ish clone. So we got a Mish-Mash of a RvR game with some devs protected pet classes (see BW).
If you are extremely deranged guy with nothing going on in your life you search for validation in online communities, mostly because you lack a skill which would put you above others. Most of these people lack confidence for this exact reason.
This shit is for the guy in his 30's never experiencing the "I want to fix my life" moment and doing it. Asian MMOs are at least out in the open with the grind. It's expected and they're not trying to obfuscate the fact from you with story and whatnot. You WILL grind for days.
It's less about the grind more about the scam-tier microtransactions, weird Unreal tech-demo meets anime aesthetics, overly flashy spell effects and general lack of cohesion in the setting
all I really remember about aion was my character saying dumb shit like "varee figero" every time I casted a spell, and the flying being seriously gimped for something they put so much emphasis on during marketing

no gameplay shown other than archery, animations are middling so I have no hope that melee combat will be good/interesting.
The sandbox building seems nice, and I liked the distant visuals. I worry the land mass is not nearly big enough for everyone to build on (80km^2), especially if I want a hidden cabin in the woods and some random c**t runs up and decides to build on the plot next to me
Latin named games are gay and this is 9/10 going to be dead project in a couple years
Every time I see that ugly long haired homosexual attached to a game, I subconsciously move it to the "not interested" pile. You can think that's pretty or contrarianism but I'm just not interested in even accidentally playing games with people who willingly spend time talking about that dude.
There won't be a good MMO ever again because we are not kids anymore. Everyone experienced MMOs already and knows what they're about, you won't have your mind blown by the fact you can go anywhere and the characters on the screen are real people. And even if you tried to experience it in an innocent childlike way, no one else will, everyone will rush to the wikis and minmax from day one. The only people who play MMOs in 2023 are addicts with fried brains who want to see numbers grow
what i want >fantasy MMO >very low magic >imagine lord of the rings movies >if you know any magic at all you are basically a god so it's reserved for legendary lore characters >light survival elements like eat/drink/rest/extreme weather conditions >early medieval technology >grunt gear is chain mail, basic open helmet, spear, broadsword, shield >knights get chain mail, breastplate, plate helmet, shins, crows beak, flail, 1.5 handers and shield >4 life paths(classes) >deeply religious monk/nun(males can specialize into a priest or crusader, females the abbess) >scoundrel(can specialize into a prostitute or bounty hunter) >conscript(starts as grunt, can become a town guard or knight) - male only >adventurer for hire(murder hobo and grave robber, get caught and it's your head) >different life goals and story per path >basic class trinity: monks and nuns offer spiritual support, conscripts are the front line, scoundrels and adventurers are of low moral character and looked down by society, everybody needs them, nobody would admit it) >horses are a thing, if you can afford them, same as wagons >no random loot, you pick a weapon and specialize with it(learning new moves) >nuns and monks write chants and study scripture to improve their abilities >quests are tailored to your life path >monks and nuns are hired for philosophical tasks and advice >scoundrels steal shit and spy, combat is rare >conscripts do army shit like menial labor for their superiors and training >adventurers have to hunt down contracts in the underworld >dungeons, caves, ruins are a thing all over the world >5 man party >full collision so blocking a hallway /w shields is a valid strategy >AAA visuals and animations
I want a game that has active content creators that basically pick a class as GM when they start the game and then unlock more powers as they produce interesting interactions
How would it work? I think through a regular rating system, more thumbs up = exp = power to change more extreme things like add props to the map, spawn in bosses, change the weather, etc etc, imagine Arma 3 zeus but more fleshed out
It almost certainly wouldn't work but it's the only way I see MMOs ever actually scratching that RPG itch in an interesting way, whether a developer paid GMs to do it actively or it was something community supported would change the quality but I dont know how realistic any of it is
It did. The rewards for completing them wasn't very great, but they were a lot of fun for people who just wanted to create mini-stories, and for seeing what other mini-stories other people wanted to make.
Then they abandoned it, after years of saying "we'll get it back up".
I think the Star Trek MMO still has the feature, though.
People did wonders with the Foundry and just exposed how shitty quest design was in Neverwinter itself. Hell, people were adapting entire existing modules.
It was great. Fun community around the foundry too, people giving helpful feedback on what they can do for their next module, getting that feedback yourself on your own modules.
It was my favorite part of that game.
When it became obvious it wasn't coming back, just lost interest over time.
How about instead of influencing the open world you just sign up to be a dungeon master for the opposing faction's run. You decide where to spawn additional waves and lock off certain paths or buff bosses. Frick, I got hard just thinking about the possibilities.
Sounds like you want something that costs like 200+ million or more with no real way to make the money back. You people need to understand that making a mmo cost ALOT of money
>no real way to make the money back
What really kills the concept tho is the lack of fantasy/magic classes. The number of people that want to play a powerful magic caster is huge.
>Ambiguous project >The developers are literal whos that have no experience in making games in general, not even making MMORPGs we're talking about >their engine is unreal 5 lmao >huge emphasis on graphics meaning they have little idea what they're doing, there's a reason why mmorpgs either look like outdated shit or stylized outdated shit >player-driven economy thats destined to not work just like in every mmorpg that tried it before >the developers seem to avoid combat like fire in their promotional materials meaning its horrible or simply unfinished >the pvp will be only available in certain locations
I would avoid it to be honest, the building mechanics look interesting but they would have to make a lot of limitations on how their game is played like servers in order for it to work
Honestly, no idea how any new "MMO" can even thrive because the expectations are a lot, especially from western publishers. They want something with as much scale as WoW or FF14 has now, but at launch, but it never works out like that. It's why Wayfinder is already having layoffs.
>watches animal torture videos for fun >mother is mysteriously set on fire once she became a burden >owns an organisation filled with actual rapists

I dunno. He barely leaves his house, and he's too addicted to getting trues from chatters who ride his dick to be actually be out and about to be involved with that kind of stuff.
He's barely involved in his own org that's public facing.
his own org is filled with NEW YORKERS, he belongs to a talent agency too, which is not hard to guess what origin it has. He's probably involved in a money-funnel way, but not directly, he's too autistic for that.
>Shill thread about some shitty soijak homosexual is not allowed on Ganker >His paypigs keep shilling him anyway
You fricking homosexual simps never learn
>Founded by veteran developers from Iceland and Finland
Iceland has a good track record in autistic MMO's with EVE, and Finland has a long tradition of MMO autism. It could be good
MMORPGs are a mediocre game made agonizingly stretched out. They are an outdated genre designed from the ground up as cheaply made skinner boxes with artificial gating to prevent the community from all beating them and moving on within a week. The levels don’t matter, the dungeons don’t matter, and they are all in service to an endgame that only matters because the mediocre fights are tuned to just barely not kill the best geared fighters that can fight them. They should die as a genre, all of them.
Looks promising honestly but it still needs a level polish better than Asmonbald's head. I have a little faith.

You can think that's pretty or contrarianism but I'm just not interested in even accidentally playing games with people who willingly spend time talking about that dude.
guy looks like a starfield npc
>only female „knights“ in the trailer
esg trash
I'm just gonna stick to WoW like i always do. Frick new mmo's.
looks like this soigay in your pic is impressed, so no, I am sure it will be SJW gay game.
Pass
There won't be a good MMO ever again because we are not kids anymore. Everyone experienced MMOs already and knows what they're about, you won't have your mind blown by the fact you can go anywhere and the characters on the screen are real people. And even if you tried to experience it in an innocent childlike way, no one else will, everyone will rush to the wikis and minmax from day one. The only people who play MMOs in 2023 are addicts with fried brains who want to see numbers grow
Not everyone is you. Plenty of bright eyed people played and enjoyed vanilla reboots.
>perpetual development hell that will likely never see full release but will still milk everything they can via israelitestart supporters
Throw it on the pile with Ashes of Creation and Pantheon.
what i want
>fantasy MMO
>very low magic
>imagine lord of the rings movies
>if you know any magic at all you are basically a god so it's reserved for legendary lore characters
>light survival elements like eat/drink/rest/extreme weather conditions
>early medieval technology
>grunt gear is chain mail, basic open helmet, spear, broadsword, shield
>knights get chain mail, breastplate, plate helmet, shins, crows beak, flail, 1.5 handers and shield
>4 life paths(classes)
>deeply religious monk/nun(males can specialize into a priest or crusader, females the abbess)
>scoundrel(can specialize into a prostitute or bounty hunter)
>conscript(starts as grunt, can become a town guard or knight) - male only
>adventurer for hire(murder hobo and grave robber, get caught and it's your head)
>different life goals and story per path
>basic class trinity: monks and nuns offer spiritual support, conscripts are the front line, scoundrels and adventurers are of low moral character and looked down by society, everybody needs them, nobody would admit it)
>horses are a thing, if you can afford them, same as wagons
>no random loot, you pick a weapon and specialize with it(learning new moves)
>nuns and monks write chants and study scripture to improve their abilities
>quests are tailored to your life path
>monks and nuns are hired for philosophical tasks and advice
>scoundrels steal shit and spy, combat is rare
>conscripts do army shit like menial labor for their superiors and training
>adventurers have to hunt down contracts in the underworld
>dungeons, caves, ruins are a thing all over the world
>5 man party
>full collision so blocking a hallway /w shields is a valid strategy
>AAA visuals and animations
>AAA visuals and animations

I want a game that has active content creators that basically pick a class as GM when they start the game and then unlock more powers as they produce interesting interactions
How would it work? I think through a regular rating system, more thumbs up = exp = power to change more extreme things like add props to the map, spawn in bosses, change the weather, etc etc, imagine Arma 3 zeus but more fleshed out
It almost certainly wouldn't work but it's the only way I see MMOs ever actually scratching that RPG itch in an interesting way, whether a developer paid GMs to do it actively or it was something community supported would change the quality but I dont know how realistic any of it is
didn't neverwinter have a custom adventures feature like that? only it was rather amateurish and very bare bones.
One day, modded Bannerlord will be like this.
One day...
never have another thought in your life
I immediately don't care about it because of your Asmocuck pic
it's not an mmorpg, it's a survival game like conan exiles
god this game looks dreadful, like new world but even more crusty and shit stained
mmos died with wow
>Ambiguous project
>The developers are literal whos that have no experience in making games in general, not even making MMORPGs we're talking about
>their engine is unreal 5 lmao
>huge emphasis on graphics meaning they have little idea what they're doing, there's a reason why mmorpgs either look like outdated shit or stylized outdated shit
>player-driven economy thats destined to not work just like in every mmorpg that tried it before
>the developers seem to avoid combat like fire in their promotional materials meaning its horrible or simply unfinished
>the pvp will be only available in certain locations
I would avoid it to be honest, the building mechanics look interesting but they would have to make a lot of limitations on how their game is played like servers in order for it to work
Honestly, no idea how any new "MMO" can even thrive because the expectations are a lot, especially from western publishers. They want something with as much scale as WoW or FF14 has now, but at launch, but it never works out like that. It's why Wayfinder is already having layoffs.
>watches animal torture videos for fun
>mother is mysteriously set on fire once she became a burden
>owns an organisation filled with actual rapists
he's like a more successful chris-chan, ofc he's popular here
Just play wow like everyone else.
The genre is dead, it wont get any better
I have no idea who even plays retail WoW anymore.
>multiple friends have gotten in trouble
You can't tell me he doesn't have a sex dungeon or some kind of pedo ring going on. There is way to much filth he has been friend with for him to not somehow be involved.
It would have been exposed by now. He is 100% autism focused into world of warcraft.
He's been very open about being subscribed to Onlyfans, watching porn and being ok with cucking. Take that for what you will.
>Asmongoloid
>Ezra Cooperstein
>Jeremy Steinberg
>"No, it's too perfect I don't believe it"
>it's real
>Shill thread about some shitty soijak homosexual is not allowed on Ganker
>His paypigs keep shilling him anyway
You fricking homosexual simps never learn
>Founded by veteran developers from Iceland and Finland
Iceland has a good track record in autistic MMO's with EVE, and Finland has a long tradition of MMO autism. It could be good
it will either be incredibly underrated and die slowly or total dogshit and die immediately. There is no in between.
This is probably true. I don't see a world where the game is ever mainstream. Which kind of begs the question of how the game will be funded.
A thread died for this attention manprostitute bullshit?
How many "wow killers" do you morons have to be disappointed by before this genre just fricking dies already
DO YOU DAMN FRICKING JOB MODS. GET THIS FRICKING homosexual ECELEB PIG PERMABANNED
>Pax Dei
unironically never heard of this game before. Why is it being considered the next "savior of MMOs"? What's so special about it?
Paid shill man was paid to shill it
Yup that's it
