>Muh Graphics.
It does actually look better, but it's the same fricking modeling team, what do you expect. >Jank
For what little I saw, both the Police and Heisters look and move way better, take a look at the bulldozer in the end.
They also seem to have added some hacking, and slide movement.
sorry to the anon who asked the source of original payday devs making a payday competitor, i didnt reply in time
https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/former-payday-developers-are-working-on-a-new-co-op-heist-shooter
I mean, I’m happy if they manage to reduce jank even for a little bit and make the cop AI more interesting to make combat less braindead. I know that especially the latter is lot to ask, but if they did that, I would literally be happy to pay for it even if it was just PD2 repackaged otherwise.
Yeah, until they actually go into detail on the underlying systems--like whether perk decks and PD2's skill system will return--or how they plan to use UE4 to take level designs beyond the limits of the Diesel Engine, there's really nothing to get interested about here. There's just a few things that are blatantly trying to wow people but don't do much to impact the gameplay, like sliding, the new cloaker animations, or that new sentry look.
Honestly, all they had to do was say "we're changing how running bags work and how heists are designed around time gates" and it would've done way more to garner interest than "OOOOOOO SICK SLIDE INTO TASERSPLOSIA AND WALL HACK GUNS"
That’s what I’m waiting for too. It’s pretty hard to get excited about OOO HERE’S A SEQUEL if there’s zero info about what’s getting improved, changed or expanded, there’s nothing to hype yet. And to be real here, after all the PD2 late-day shenanigans, they need to make a pretty convincing case to get me to actually hype PD3.
There are already silver and gold editions of the game that include season pass for 6 or 12 months, which will unlock heists, costumes and weapons. So they're already planning DLCs
Literally the only thing Payday needed to do was allow user-created content.
Let players have the tools to create heists holy frick. Then just have Overkill/devs greenlight them into the game for them to be legit.
It's such an obvious thing to guarantee a game's longevity especially for a heist game.
that's what I expected payday 3 to be too >playable character is just some OC made in a character creator and customization options are greatly expanded on from payday 2 >going from payday 2's ending, the payday gang is retired but now act as contractors >integrate steam workshop for masks, patterns, suits, gloves, heists, guns etc >gameplay is just payday 2 but more refined and less janky (driving especially)
would've made tons of cash and they could've just copied valve and be lazy as frick and just let the community develop the game with greenlighting things like you said
>no collectors edition for pc >its just a deck of cards, some stickers, and an ugly ass mask
A little disappointed, but not by much. I'm also not sure if this disappointment is from the lack of anything interesting or the fact there isn't a pc option in the first place.
Upset that they replaced Wolf's VA but I understand that Ulf is doing his own thing right now and might be unable to do so/doesn't want to be involved in the new game, or Starbreeze is uninterested in having him reprise his role. I saw someone say that his new VA, Niklas or something I forgot his last name, previously did voice work on Swedish children's show, so I hope he's able to deliver and keep the same energy.
Man they've really fricked up the series haven't they? They learned the wrong lessons from the first game and the start of the second game and have continued to destroy what they had.
The big question is that what lessons have they learned from PD2? What are they going to changr about it now that they can do it freely? They csn’t think that PD2’s development ultimately went as they wanted, it’s all too obvious how they had no real long term vision beyond ”oh shit better make DLC for Payday so that we don’t go bankrupt due to Walking Dead”.
>no sidney
This is a great thing. Sydney was the shittiest heister of 2.
they only confirmed the main 4 for launch. I hope they bring my boy Sangres back and maybe some of the other heisters back for launch. I'm worried that the game is going to release bare bones like PD2 did.
The graphics don't look much better. I hope they at least got rid of all the jank.

eh, its not payday without some jank
trailer looks perfectly janky imo
Starbreeze will literally go bankrupt if this fails lmao

it looks almost exactly the same but with better graphics?
Guess they couldn't keep milking DLC weapon packs forever.

It looks worse than Payday 2

Looks like an update for 2 that just adds some new features like sliding and meat shields.

will they murder their own game with 700 dlc's again or will they resist temptation

Payday has always been dogshit, the AI in those games must be made by third worlders.
Literally the only thing Payday needed to do was allow user-created content.
Let players have the tools to create heists holy frick. Then just have Overkill/devs greenlight them into the game for them to be legit.

Maybe they will one day

They already did this with payday 2. Same as csgo. Not heists or guns though.
Payday is dogshit anyways, who cares?
ok but what if payday heat street but procedurally generated streets
>no Switch
I know the Switch can't run this for shit but did Payday 2 do well on the Switch sales wise?
>no collectors edition for pc
