The original trilogy was an over the top, if rather brainless, action game that was just about some mad c**t getting revenge. 2018 was a cinematic snoozefest that was determined to make you sympathise with Kratos and make him seem like a broken man. I don't want that from GOW, i want some hotheaded dipshit tearing shit apart because someone stood on his foot.
The newer games dont respect the old ones at all, literally nothing of what happened post gow3 is explained, how did kratos live? didnt he go insane? why is he up north? how did he even get there? who is faye? nothing is answered, you just have to suck it up that theres a huge timeskip, suddenly Kratos had a wife who magically healed all his problems, has a son and all the bullshit about him happened off screen, thats lazy as frick fanfiction tier writing. The new games could've been standalone about the norse mythology without Kratos and it would've been much better, would've made you wonder what kind of past the MC had.and so on, and most of all the new games are just straight worse than the trilogy

As someone who likes/liked 2018, Ragnarok is mostly shit. The good parts is the Combat like the "first" game.
It's a fricking slog. Giant maps was a fricking mistake with Kratos just waddling/paddling every where. It just makes back tracking for side shit a huge time investment. Also the ending is fricking weak as shit, it's 100% NOT God of War. It's like some tame ass made for TV shit. What the frick. Who ever wrote this crap should be fired.
