I just wish they weren't so limited. The visual novel/character rpg side never has any real decision making, choices or variance beyond "which character is my girlfriend this run". They don't even really have that basic "which party members should i take to see different dialogue this time" option, because every event has them all participate anyway.
Then on the gameplay side it's so simple and unrewarding, you just completely stomp every enemy before they ever get a chance to do anything until you get to bosses, which are the opposite, in that you will almost certainly die unless until you, often partly, trial and error the puzzle. Once it's solved they become largely routine as well. Anon in another thread out it succinctly that both sides of their games are too shallow for how long the games are. I still like them to an extent, but for party RPGs they basically have no real replay draw nor do they have any real role playing. I guess that's a problem with all JRPGs though.

Strikers would have been 100% better with the classic combat style, but it fricked up exactly where original Persona 5 struck iron: the ending.
Prison of Regression is absolute peak for its themes and social commentary, while Strikers story and theme was kinda lazy. And the music was an ATROCIOUS SIN against the perfect ost of the original.

In particular, despite the TB combat being the main mode of combat which is only supplemented by the action combat when facing trash mobs, I still left the presentation knowing exactly the same as I did about their combat system as before. Maybe it's fair to assume they're just going to slap either the one-more/press turn combat system on there without any major changes, but I would like to know for certain.
skipping on the potentially huge sales boost in japanese market is kinda dumb. and most sales happen around the initial release period, most potential buyers drift off later if you don't offer them the game on their preferred platform. for example ghost of sushi would have sold 5 million copies day 1 on steam but now maybe 10% to 20% of that number will buy the game and half will be those who already did on ps4.
they sure are going all in with their over the top menu designs. it definitely looks cool but will overstay its welcome when they keep doing it from now on.

I don’t have any numbers to back it up but my assumption is it was probably biggest in Japan during the 3DS era when it was getting a ton of megaten, dungeon crawlers and JRPGs in general, of course dragon quest all that shit. Maybe DS was bigger because most of those megaten games were just remakes of the DS version.

I'm pretty sure the main storyline dungeons will be more unique. Hashino stated that this game has the largest amounts of dungeons that Atlus has put into a game, so I expect the side dungeons to be mostly drab while the main story dungeons will likely be more set piece like P5's Palaces.

I feel like the recent presentation told me very little I didn't already know or could make an educated guess about the game. In particular, despite the TB combat being the main mode of combat which is only supplemented by the action combat when facing trash mobs, I still left the presentation knowing exactly the same as I did about their combat system as before. Maybe it's fair to assume they're just going to slap either the one-more/press turn combat system on there without any major changes, but I would like to know for certain.

skipping on the potentially huge sales boost in japanese market is kinda dumb. and most sales happen around the initial release period, most potential buyers drift off later if you don't offer them the game on their preferred platform. for example ghost of sushi would have sold 5 million copies day 1 on steam but now maybe 10% to 20% of that number will buy the game and half will be those who already did on ps4.

I don’t have any numbers to back it up but my assumption is it was probably biggest in Japan during the 3DS era when it was getting a ton of megaten, dungeon crawlers and JRPGs in general, of course dragon quest all that shit. Maybe DS was bigger because most of those megaten games were just remakes of the DS version.
