I've played PGR2, PGR3, PGR4, and I don't know how one can consistently attain platinum medals. Shit is impossible.
In PGR 3 and 4 you could get DLC cars that have been (intentionally?) placed in the wrong class. Unfortunately you cannot get the dlc now.
Some were included in Classics release of the games

I still have my xbox and play it regularly but it's fricked up that such a great series runs like garbage on PC basically the whole way through. Metropolis Street Racer is the only one that you can reliably emulate.
Decompiled PC port with unlimited FPS and lighting/brightness tweaks would be dreamy.
I had PGR1 it was an xbox launch title. I understand these game was sort of precursor to Forza. I thin forza sucks thiugh at least compared to gran turismo
PGR is not a precursor to Forza. It has intentionally unrealistic physics and the focus is on performing tricky manuevers while driving. Several devs however did transfer to work on Forza Horizon after their studio got closed by Activision.
Well, I wouldnt describe Forza as realsitc either just crappy. I also spend a lot time playing forza on x360. Its just what I had. Nowadays I know how better GT is.
I'll revisit some of these PGR games though. I have an OG xbox setup. That thing is great to collect for right now. Many many $10 games.
Forza is garbage compared to PGR. PGR was great all the way until MS killed it for no fricking reason

pgr2 runs terrible on official x360 back compat for what its worth
