People have been rightfully complaining pretty hard about the microtransactions, and I agree, but I have seen a depressing amount of people in-game using all the new paid-only skins like Master Chief, El Chapulin Colorado, Pusheen, etc. So unfortunately I'm pretty sure it's working and people are actually spending a lot of money on this game. I don't know why but people LOVE microtransactions. How this game can fail when it was $20 and you got all the skins for free, but then make a ton of money when it's free and every individual skin costs $20, I will never understand.
Making the game free and paying for skins optional is great for both people that aren't willing to pay for the game and people that are, the frick you whining about

November 2020 - May 2022 was the best time to play Fall Guys, no annoying online just a fun cozy game. It was fun while it lasted, but sadly we will never go back to those times

The game got a bit stale in about one week. It was a ton of fun but the novelty of it wore off for me. I hear there's a lot of new content now so maybe it's worth revisiting though
It does have a lot more maps, but you still see a lot of the same ones every match. I think it's a fun game to grind in when I want to multitask and do something mindless while I listen to a stream or something, but it really shouldn't have cost $20 to begin with. Like even when the game was paid the majority of the game's "content" was just new skins and that's it.

20 dollars worked as a barrier for entry, when it became free, people actually had a chance to try it out risk free and enjoyed it so now they are buying stuff

maybe i want my casual game about jumping beans to be just that, rather than a super sweaty tryhard fest filled with mario 64 speedrunners. yes i can go make a new account which i did, but then that is also boring due to every game for a good while being filled with either bad players or bots.

we've hit a point where most people don't remember what server based multiplayer games were like as this sbmm cancer has overtaken gaming for decades now but it used to be so much more fun with no regulation.
Well, I play a lot of Fortnite, which has skill-based matchmaking too, but I only ever play solos instead of the competitive mode and even at my skill level I find games to be comfy and easygoing. I think there's a good solution to this that doesn't require the removal of SBMM for the people who like it, which is that they create a ranked mode for Fall Guys that will filter all the tryhards into it, and everyone else who wants to play casually can play the normal modes instead.
You aren't wrong but in this case it also helps the game floundered at the start because they were really slow to deal with cheaters
