Junpei is good on phys crit team comps. I usually run Aigis/Koro/Ken but swap out Aigis for Junpei during boss fights
Slash has a higher damage modifier than Pierce or Strike so Junpei’s better DPS.
You gotta realize Junpei is bad early game but great lategame. He’s a crit machine with a built in full heal.

Aigis has the weakest ultimate physical and while she does have Phys Amp, Junpei also has Apt Pupil and Crit Damage Up in one.

Ice imo is the best element in the game (not counting almighty) just in terms of damage+effects+number of enemies/bosses weak to it so that makes mitsuru better than like akihiko just on that alone. Plus her theurgy is very strong.
Terrible team synergy, nobody can take advantage of koromarus theurgy. Its better if you take ken instead of koro on this team since hes the second hardest hitting caster after mitsuru.

I knew the beach scene was going to get redone, but I think a better way of handling it would have just been that they all found an extremely horny woman that was so over-the-top that it was a "what if a dog chasing cars actually caught one" situation and made them all panic.
A better way of handling it would've been to feature P4's Kashiwagi on vacay as a cameo and hint towards the P4 Remake while also paying back for Chihiro cameo in P4.

I'm playing on Merciless, but from my experience up to August in-game, Akihiko and Mitsuru are underwhelming party members. I feel like Akihiko is too much of an all rounder and Mitsuru's magic barely does anything to crucial enemies.
OG Akihiko was the go to party due to his extremely flexible toolkit sadly he's been nerfed in the favour of other party members so he's diet-coke Ryuji now

Mitsuru's charm spell is brokenly good. Did you notice it says "high" chance of inflicting charm? Charm lasts several turns and isn't removed when an enemy is attacked, so especially against single strong enemies she can pretty much give you a bunch of free turns.
I noticed it when fighting certain enemies, yeah. But as a party member for bosses, she's pretty much only good for the Rakunda. I dunno, her damage output has kind of turned me away from using her.

Tower's dialogue choices are a bit trickier. Most SLs you just have to say what the person wants to hear (like encouraging Kaz to frick up his leg). With Tower it's often hard to tell what the old guy wants to hear. The little music notes that appear over the character's head show whether or not you've said something they approve of, and how much.
I maxed the old people first thing because I like helping old people and because Kohryu is one of my favorite demons in the franchise

I’ve seen a lot of people saying akihiko was nerfed but to me its more like he was changed from a supportive role to a purely offensive one, he is like the physical dps grug while junpei is the crit dps grug. Its pretty clear when you consider multipliers and personality traits.
Ultimately it depends on how much buff amp and crit amp give but assuming its x1.5 then this is pretty much how each characters multiplier looks like taking into account accessories:
Yukari: √220 x 1.75 = 25.9
Junpei: √650 x 1.75 x 1.1 = 49.07 (this isn’t counting the crit multiplier itself so its technically higher than this, he will need revolution support as well so he can get near 100% crit)
Akihiko: √800 x 1.75 = 49.4
Mitsuru: √600 x 1.75 x 1.5 = 64.2
Aigis: √580 x 1.75 = 42.1
Koromaru and Ken: √350 x 1.75 = 32.7
Mitsuru feels like the highest because of concentrate but if we consider crits then Junpei is actually probably the best. This is not taking into account Koromarus theurgy since its incredibly unreliable in boss fights without any weaknesses, you might see it activate only a handful of times. Regardless I feel its important to denote that Akihiko is actually not as bad as everyone is making him out to be because nobody is seeing him like a physical attacker. Even with buff amp, taking elec amp/boost on him is a waste of time and will only deal a fraction of god hands damage with a strike boost accessory.
My recommendation to everyone using aki is to use Ken as a buffbawd for him and dont bother with elec boost/amp, take shock boost instead and focus on dishing crits on shocked enemies.
If you’re going the Mitsuru route because 64 le big number then don’t even bother taking Koromaru.

They tuned down this scene in the remake, it is lacking the tension. The Orpheus scream and Thanatos one was so much better too, the song in the background as well.

So guys, having played the shit out of FES like 10 years ago I am still on the fence about it.
How's the difficulty? I still remember stuff like the Sleeping Table to this day. Has the game been dumbed down like P4 Golden or P5? Or did they at least respect the difficulty of the original?
Difficultly is nerfed to P5 level.
It's defnetly harder than P5
The new difficulty made the full moon bosses much harder. FES had hard midbosses but all the story bosses are much easier than P5. Reload is harder than both.
Play on Merciless, probably the hardest Persona has been since FES on Hard. Full moon bosses are even harder than FES, I'd say, but Tartarus is less punishing.
FES is one of my favorite games and I'm loving this. There's Merciless difficulty if you want a challenge but I'd say they made it easier than the original and FES for sure because the birds didn't beat the shit out of me.
Prioritize courage if you like Fuuka, prioritize charm is you like Yukari. Mitsuru is locked until lategame so academics isn't that much of a hurry.
The game is more difficult than fes imho but you break it just as easily. The moment you get a persona with spirit drain you trivialize tartarus exploring, ken does as well with his innate 5-10 sp regen every turn if you do his hangouts. The beginning is much more difficult in reload because you want to avoid using the clock. Priestess boss fight is also a lot more tense.
Hard difficulty feels appropriate, merciless is essentially turning everything into a damage sponge.
The full moon bosses desperately needed the HP buff.
I've been playing on hard and I'm assuming I just got really lucky with abilities because I was getsuei-ing every full moon boss for hundreds of damage. I remember world balance being a pain in FES and in this one I didn't even recognize it until it was almost dead. Physical crits are crazy in this game
Merciless is the only difficulty even close to being balanced, and even then you can still break it just with Theurgy spam. Stupid decision that you're not allowed to switch to it when you realize "Hard" mode isn't actually hard.
Made this mistake, started on hard because i thought merciless was going to be joke like in P5. Once i realized my mistake i was too far in to start new game
Anyone got any tips for someone play reload first time? Best social stats and social links to prioritize? Battle/tartarus tips? Fusions to get?
Fuse/get from shuffle time Jack'o Lantern and Jack Frost at least once for something later in the game, you don't need to keep them just having them in your compendium is good
Try to fill out the compendium as much as possible actually, you get a pretty good reward for getting to some specific percentages
focus courage and charm first
do whatever SLs you like
Try to go to tartarus as few times a month as you can.
Prioritize social stats during the night and social links during the day.
The game arcade and specific food place at night is the best option for each stat, working at the cafe is like if you went to the arcade and split the charm and courage games in half.
Generally speaking your priorities should be Courage > Charm > Academics while keeping your academics at the threshold they need to be for each exam, for example by the first exam your academics needs to be 2 in order to get a reward for mitsuru and 3 in order to get the top of your class.
For Courage: mystery burger at wildduck> arcade > everything else
For Charm: ramen > arcade > everything else
For academics: seafood platter at wakatsu > arcade > everything else
Its worth noting that the cafe part time work is still worth doing due to the split between courage/charm.
Courage and Charm are easier to max than academics.
Omce you get access to dorm hangouts you should definitely prioritize them at night since they unlock party member passives but keep in mind that not all of them give you a stat raise (succh as gardening) and the raises aren’t as efficient as the nighttime restaurants or arcade.
Try to do reach every tartarus blockade in a single night, this will be hard to do in the beginning.
Visit the nurses office after any full moon boss or tartarus visit for a free courage boost.
After the first full moon boss it is worth waiting until AFTER midterms before you go to tartarus again so you can do the first half of the arqa block with akihiko in the party.
Look up the dates people go missing in tartarus and plan your tartarus visits around those so you don’t end up going twice to tartarus in a single month.

As many as possible. It's less about what you fuse and more about how you fuse it.
Best tip I can give is that, while not everything has a "type" like Pokemon, keep in mind that fire-ice, wind-elec, and light-dark are generally treated as opposites, meaning pulling out Jack Frost to hit a fire enemy's weakness also makes you weak to fire yourself and can get you killed. So, it would be ideal to have fire skills on a Persona immune to ice, but in the case of Jack Frost, he can't inherit fire skills himself. He is still a good early source of Bufula, but if you can later pass that on to something with better fire resistance, now you're getting somewhere.

How exactly did they make completing slinks easier in Reload. I'm not noticing much of a difference and there's more things that can take up your time like those bond events with SEES.

Yes. In the original there are some where you have to hang out like 3 times to rank up once in later levels, where in reload I have only ever seen one hang out session and then the next is a rank up reliability everytime

I don't get why they didn't rebalance the personas properly.
They gave him Magic Amp as a unique skill and fire/ice/wind/elec resistance in FES, now he repels Dark and gets Null Phys as a unique skill, giving him no weakness and resistance to everything. They've already buffed the frick out of this guy to be the best Persona in the game.
PSA for anyone playing on Deck, change your proton to proton hotfix (at the very bottom of the list), theres a huge performance patch, basically 60fps with some very small drops in the Velvet room + still drops in those weird boss areas but these should all be fixed in time
45fps is a lock now, my preferred way since my play sessions go until my battery dies and its 4~hours vs <3hours.

Fuuka will often tell me specific status ailments are effective when I've scan enemies with no weaknesses. I assume that means they at least don't block that one. Not sure if she has a chance to still say that if they do have a weakness. Wish she would just show you.
Do all crit abilities stack? I know that the game tells you when abilities can't stack like counters but then boost/amp skills also tell you when they can. Crit abilities are the only ones that don't tell you either or

Assuming it's not changed, she becomes immune to Poison when she gets Athena. Which should be the other way around since Athena is when her Persona becomes human, but I guess an awakening that nerfs her would be weird.

It's choosing Merciless for the NG+ playthrough that doesn't carry things over. I'm also not sure if it's true because a LOT of articles are just copy and pasting info from P3P and assuming it's how Reload works, too.

He's not protesting Reload but Reload is very underwhelming for anyone that isn't caught in the hype of P3 being ported to a very bad engine and recieving a tons of weird changes.
Its also important to note that Nyarly, unlike your average youtuber, has quite low income and has only had a low power Laptop to play games on for a while. P3R is unreasonably expensive so he might just not have the funds for it.

She has absolute shit damage now compared to FES. She's also the only party member that only has one element, so what little damage she has drops to almost nothing if something resists wind. I don't really see what Ken can't do better except against except bosses that are weak to Wind, require Mediaharan every single turn, or you need Amrita Shower for. Random mobs don't require healing every battle and Ken already has decent SP conservation with his regen. He's less squishy than her too, unless they changed that in Reload.

Simple fact that she still only has Garudyne when everyone else got their damage buffed. If she got an upgrade to Panta Rhei, she'd be back to where she was and Ken/ Koro would be back in last place again.
Her highest damage skill is garudyne, everyone else gets skills that are around 2 to 3 times more powerful with multipliers. In fes she was one of the few characters with access to amp and boost at the same time granted in that game she was still mediocre to ken who got a x2.25 multiplier to his own free basic attack as long as he used the wind element spear, and thats without the wind amp accessory so the waifuBlack folk can’t give the dark weakness cope.
√260 x 1.25 x 2 = 40.31 with a max strength of 55
Vs
√320 x 1.25 x 1.5 = 33.54 with a max magic of 92

I had anubis with spirit drain + drain ability, so when the die rolls 2 I switch to it and do the succ for 40 mp. I do this until it's out of mana. Then I switch to my phys dps and go ham when it rolls 1, 2, 3. If it rolls 4, 5, or 6 I switch to my highest endurance persona and guard

4 - phys attack
5 - forgot, just guard

I actually like his SL. It's one of the more hard hitting ones and possibly the best Moon arcana in the franchise. That and it's also very in touch with the games theme of experiencing death

Does crit rate boost+crit rate amp+apt pupil actually stacks in P3R?

Definitely Aki, and maybe swap Ken in and out if you need Mediaharan. Aki would give the team great support and damage, and Aki has Diaharan so Aigis isn't the only one that can heal. He'd cover for Aigis' weakness and Mitsuru would cover for his, and you'd have almost every buff and debuff. Yukari over Ken would give you two elec weaknesses, so I'd avoid use him over her.
Weaknesses for the main 4 elements are often easier to cover with gear than Light/Dark. That's why a lot of people benched Ken/Koromaru in the older versions.
I actually dug up some old posts back in the FES/P3P hey day and it was generally considered that Ken was the worse one outside of like a handful of diehard fanboys.

and i think junpei being jelly makes more sense if you take akihiko and mitsuru, this way he is basically benched two times in a row
