The opportunity squandered to actually make a good, soulful remake of FES, one of my favorite games, on modern hardware
It affects me by filling me with disappointment and makes me a little more cynical towards the prospect of good new games.
By voicing my displeasure online, it will hopefully inspire similarly frustrated people to speak up, which could translate into fewer people buying the game. This would, in turn, incentivize Atlus back to making good games instead of whatever the frick happened after Persona 5 (arguably after 4)

The fact that they're making P3 again instead of making a new game like SMT6 actually does affect every person that enjoys video games. A secondary such as yourself wouldn't get it.
SMT is a different division of Atlus. PStudio doing a P3 remake has no effect on whatever the team assigned to SMT is doing. P6 is the game effected and Atlus was even open with saying P3R is being headed by the younger and newer members of PStudio while the senior members are likely on P6.

I liked the open world stuff but it needed a better story and characters, better atmosphere, and some more DUNGEONS. The endgame was pretty bad, and locking endings behind NG+ is shit. I didn’t need to NG+ for TDE in Nocture
I’d like to see the open world design incorporate some more platforming and hazards. Give MC a double jump. Make the game much more punishing by making healing and save points more scarce (remove return pillar, especially). MC should be solo, not with a companion. Make it just the apocalyptic world a la Nocturne.

It doesn’t mesh with the calendar system.

Fatigue was also a poorly implemented mechanic. I'd rather they try and rework it over outright removing it but I'm not going to be bothered by it's removal.

Stamina reduction is tied to your level, it will go down more slowly as you level up. You can in fact prepare with regards to the stamina system, simply sleep early without studying or sleep in class and you will feel Great, making it take longer to get tired.

The lighting and portraits are in the newer Soejima style, the UI is like Persona 5 (better) and the lighting is way more colorful than the bland grey lighting of the original. Also they're apparently adding a ton of stuff to make it a similar length and quality to P5 which is by par the most polished game in the series. Old P3 artwork sucked shit and P4 which came out a few years later only made that more obvious, and then P5 outdid P4 in that department.

It's because P5 set new standards for the series in terms of style and P3R is trying to apply some of that to P3. You can see that through how they did that through the UI or how they gave SEES battle outfits.
Oh man, I hate the battle outfits so much. The only one who looks good wearing that shit is MC and that's mostly because it just looks like his regular school jacket so it isn't as jarring whereas it's super fricking noticable on everyone else.
I think Junpei's is fine but everyone else is so mild I'm not even sure why they did it. Yukari is wearing the same clothes as her regular outfit but with a jacket. Ken seems to be wearing the same outfit but his jacket is longer. Shinjiro just has his jacket opened up a bit and is wearing fingerless gloves.
I imagine you can still switch back to the old outfits.
I doubt they'd go to the effort of doing two different versions for after the all out attacks with their original outfits and then the new ones unless you could switch back.
