P5 was our last chance of them mixing things up, and they were, until the fricking earthquake caused the main dev to have a bullshit epiphany then changed the entire original premise of the game back into generic P3-P4 format.

SMTIV replaced P4 as Atlus's best selling game for years, yet they still didn't treat the SMT franchise with as much respect as they did Persona. SMTV went into dev hell and got rushed out, despite IV showing these games can bring in the sales. Just look at how long it took them to give us ports of older games. Atlus doesn't know how to run a game company at all. They trip over themselves these days and prefer to just remake P3's format to play it safe.

If you want to play Reload, I strongly recommend just waiting for it and don't touch FES.
There's this real thing called "Persona burn-out" and it hits fricking hard after 1-2 games, so playing FES first and then immediately following up with Reload will very likely make you hate this series.
Plus, FES is an extremely overrated game with a laundry list of problems that made its contemporary JRPG competition look like the best games ever made, when in reality they've mostly aged like milk.
P3 isn't nearly as popular as P4/P5 and is getting a remake for a reason. You have been warned.
It's got artificial difficulty and it promotes a grinding playstyle. In FES, your party members are subject to getting a status ailment called "Tired", a completely random debuff that you have 0 control over. The only way to prevent getting it is to run from every fight, but you need the levels in order to both fuse Personas and fight bosses, so you make it to the save before the boss and straight up level grind there until you can beat them.
If you've played Persona 5, then you will know that Mementos isn't the greatest part of it (a half assed roguelike), and Tartarus is not only a more obnoxious version of that, but it's the only dungeon in the game and it has 250 floors. All of these floors are the exact same room btw, with the exact same droning music that you hear for 80 hours.
The characters are very hit or miss, and none of them have all that much time to develop. Story is very sparse in the first 70%, but the game suddenly has hours of plot dump in the last 3rd which makes the pacing extremely fricky. The villains in this game are also extremely poor quality.
AI party members have not aged well. They have very limited commands at the start of the game, which is bad because Persona/MegaTen games are always at their most difficult in their opening hours due to the lack of resources that you have.
I could list more problems that this game has but I don't want to waste your time.
The Tired status isn't that bad, aside from receiving more damage and party members leaving early.
The Tired status exists so that players dont grind in one sitting and have to visit Tartarus multiple times, but that obviously failed because you can literally grind for hours solo with little difficulty. P4 and P5 replaced this by having it be impossible or expensive to recover MP to use Persona skills.
The Tired status isn't that bad, aside from receiving more damage and party members leaving early.

i played through fes so many times on hard and tired literally doesn't matter; if you're still using yukari she might drift into one shot territory where she otherwise wouldn't be, and you don't get sp refills at the entrance due to tired members peacing out, but that's literally it. you can still reach blockades in one day and grind excessively if you want to if you use your brain

I thought persona worked on DBZ rules, that if you were aware of the existence of the gun and could summon your persona the persona would take the hit instead of you.
Persona is more about how you spend your day to day, rather than the overarching plot which is linear (except for a bad end you can pick)
Usually you spend your time hanging out with people, which can eventually unlock events with them, or unlock new people to hang out, and it also helps you summon stronger personas for when you have to do dungeon stuff
You've got two thirds(ish) of a calendar year to save the world but how you prepare for that is up to you

How linear is persona 3? Do your choices affect anything
Persona is more about how you spend your day to day, rather than the overarching plot which is linear (except for a bad end you can pick)
Usually you spend your time hanging out with people, which can eventually unlock events with them, or unlock new people to hang out, and it also helps you summon stronger personas for when you have to do dungeon stuff
You've got two thirds(ish) of a calendar year to save the world but how you prepare for that is up to you

Elizabeth flat out isn't an S.Link, but you do have the option to reciprocate her feelings.
With any luck, Reload will let you spend Christmas with either. Maybe visit Aigis while she's being repaired at Kirijo Labs.

ps4 pro = 1080p 60 fps
ps5 = 4k 60 fps
No real difference aside from graphics and FPS like that other anon said. Personally I’d probably go for the PS5 one for the 60 FPS, but also keep in mind it’s a turn based game, so a lower frame rate isn’t as big of a deal as it would be for some other games.
PS5 also has 4k 2D assets like fonts and other ui shit
