FES OP is the best one
Visuals aren't anything impressive, but I guess it gives a better idea of what the game's about than the other two OPs.
The other two explain the games theme (Death and Life's Journey/"Memento Mori"), while Portable spoils the twist (the original sort of does as well) but inverts it by making you think they mean Minato/Minata are two sides of the same coin.
FES's spoils the ending and doesn't really go anywhere with showing the theme like the other two.
I kind of prefer the originals opening, personally.
The issue lies less with the words but the tone. If you take P3's original OP and to a lesser extent P3P's at face value, you could easily assume that Persona 3 was going to be some sort of abstract modern art piece or something. There's a rather dramatic clash between the opening sequence and actual game.
Of course, this might just be due to Soejima's art for the game. I think the Persona 3 in Soejima's head is vastly different from what the final product actually ended up being.

Persona 5's (haven't gotten around to Royale with Cheese yet) is them basically ice-skating over Shibuya.

I don't hear Kawamura in that song so I'm not sure if that's gonna be it. The melody is a bit of an odd choice as well. You can hear the Tartarus track in it, but that's not really what I'd have ever picked for an opening given that the primary purpose of the Tartarus theme is just ambiance.

Something something Direct I guess. Xbox probably paid to get first dibs on the reveal. Sony and Nintendo don't get much benefit from that. However if you downplay the game being on the Switch, raise some speculation and then create a big reveal on a Direct, then that creates a little more of an impact than just casually revealing it's gonna be on the Switch from the start. It's all just strategy.

Some Jap devs (like Bamco) genuinely believe not including the Switch version will make it seem like their AA game is a bigger deal than it really is. Technologically unaware people (like on Ganker) fall for that very easily. In reality Xenoblade 3 had higher production values than Tales of Arise, but resolution and particle effects are enough to fool them.

They already stated this Remake will NOT have FES additions. You're getting the original Persona 3 but with Persona 5-izations. If you REALLY want the "definitive" version, FES/emulated is the only one.

The only thing the Xbox version has going for it is Game Pass, but I just really don't like playing on the Xbox in general, that I'd genuinely consider buying a game on a different platform, even if it's available for free on Game Pass.

I dunno. You don't understand the difference between making the cutscenes in-engine and making them from scratch. This remake isn't really designed to do what that cutscene does.
The Answer lives and dies by its cutscenes. Take them out and there's literally no point. The cutscenes are the lifeblood of that mode. The opening cutscene where Aigis is fighting Akihiko, the cutscene where Aigis summons Orpheus for the first time, the cutscene where ??? fades away and the cutscene with Erebus specifically. These are the most important elements of The Answer. Everything else in The Answer are just cheap asset flips, but those cutscenes are practically the only things that truly matter. Practically all the meaning and all the emotion of The Answer is contained in those cutscenes.
This is in large part why I don't really think remaking The Answer in P3R really matters. Nothing else, the Abyss of Time especially, has any worth without those cutscenes. I mean when you get right down to it, what did the devs even actually do for that mode? Invert the colors of Tartarus? Recolor a few Shadows? Give Mitsuru Megidolaon for her boss fight? Their most significant contribution was modeling Erebus, but other than that, it's all just a complete asset flip. The frick's the point of this mode beyond the cutscenes?
We don't know for sure that all the cutscenes will be 3D instead of 2D now.
The protagonist's initial awaken is pre-rendered CGI using in-game assets. That's the most obvious thing to hand-draw if hand-drawn cutscenes are in. Even in Persona 5, the only awakening that was hand-drawn was Joker's. Based on this precedent, even if hypothetically there are some hand-drawn cutscenes in the game, and even more hypothetically if The Answer made it in, it's already proof that Aigis' first summoning of Orpheus wouldn't be hand-drawn either.
Well, they haven't remade The Answer yet, since it's not in the game, and this remake only exists because fans asked for it, so you can go pretend to be a few hundred different people on Twitter and tell Atlus that 2D animated cutscenes are very important, and you hope they use them for any future content added to the game, wink, wink.
Nah. I don't really think hand-drawn cutscenes are particularly important to Persona. I don't really care about P4's or P5's. P3's were a bit more memorable, but most of them didn't have much budget put into them. The only reason they're so vital to P3 is because it's a bit difficult to convey strong tones or emotions using that game's graphical style. Shinjiro's death felt more meaningful because it wasn't using super-deformed PS2 models, but I don't believe it'd be too difficult to get somewhere close to that effect using UE4.
But The Answer's a different story. The only part of The Answer that had any real passion or care put into it was the cutscenes.
