Persona 3&4 meant a lot for those in that same age group range. When you read Persona 6+college it's code for people who don't want our younger generation to experience what we did with 3&4. I was the same age range as the Phantom Thieves when Persona 5 first came out, and I can say it did hit a little closer to home due to that. Think people forget sometimes that Atlus does actually market these games to teens. Going to be a whole new generation of people coming in with 6, like that or not.

All the high schools have been completely different, as well as the characters within and the surroundings. The HS setting is the last thing that needs to be changed with the series.

as an smtgay myself I think the problem with persona stems from the writing of p4g onwards rather than the setting being highschool. p1/2 are amazing yet revolve around mostly highschool age characters so its more than possible to make it good
People aged and feel uncomfortable about the high school setting and not being that age anymore.
