My most embarrassing trait is that I will always look back fondly on the Zune
The Zune was a good device for it's time, and the PC software had a great interface and worked well.
It was just too late to the game though, normies were all accustomed to using iTunes already, and then like a year later the iphone came out.

If the competitors increase the price then you are free to do it too. It's simple economics you moronic children, open a book for once in your pathetic lives.
Can you link to the quote where they promised they will never raise their prices? Not the "document suggest" what you posted. Because they never said anything like that. Nobody would promise anything like that ever because inflation exist.
If you believe anyone could offer a product and never raise the price you never worked in your life and don't know how money works.

Xbox is like a fricking zombie. There's no reason for it to keep going, but because it's Microsoft, they have enough money to pump blood into it for years.
They should just focus on having xbox playable on phones with the bluetooth controller. If you could play all your catalog on your phone that would be pretty sweet.
Its alright.
Just keep repacking and reselling shit 10 year old games from Bethesda and call it something something Edition.
Western fat frick morons will buy any ways.
It is inevitable, all subscription services will rise in price to pay for the catalog of titles they'll need to buy or make themselves to stand a chance against competitors services. Sony just raised theirs again too, I'm sure Nintendo will do the same come Switch 2. Modern gaming is a blight.
the people who have own xboxes and have gamepass already will pay it. they're moronic. its like how no one stops paying for netflix even when they jack the price up and have 0 content.
All these price hikes with subscription services have turned me the frick off on consoles. The ps plus one was so egregious I'm looking to move to Nintendy land even though I have no history with them
Possibly. Incidentally, they released info recently that suggests the majority of people pay full price for Game Pass.
Kind of surprising but I guess there's a sub-section of people who really do have time for it
nah most people are just moronic, subbed when the $1 trial was still a thing and forgot to unsub.
the moment they hike this shit to $20 and people notice their cards are getting drained they'll unsub en masse.
they're fricking moronic if they think a price hike would help them, they already done it end of last year. the service is also a joke btw, the games they add each month are old 85% pixel indie trash and aren't even permament to your account, they get rotated out.

Companies realized they can sharge whatever the frick they want and since theres monopolies on everything, people are forced to pay. Oh, whats that? The cost of production dropped back down? Doesn't matter, frick you; Keeping the price exactly the same and making more money.
What do people even play on this crap? I got gamepass because of shartfield, and after getting bored of that theres hardly anything worth playing. Every time I think of a game I'd like to play, even nearly 10 year old games, they're not on there. They keep adding these shitty new releases, when they could be adding a ton of older games people missed out on instead. It would probably be cheaper.
I enjoy video games so I play just about everything. If I try something and don't like it I'll just uninstall and try something different. A really shitty meme game I can get a few hours of enjoyment out of is still a few hours of enjoyment.
Broke homie pass just let's dads who make poor choices in life barely able to keep playing with friends. Had one who was bragging MK1 would be day 1 and since it wasn't he's gotta watch our other friend play it until he scrounges enough money to buy it, get washed and retire it like he did SF6 in a day
I'm pretty sure all streaming services are increasing their prices as well. The problem with gamepass is its lack of new games. They have like 20+ studios and only 4 high profile games releasing this year and seemingly another 4 for next year. Shouldn't they be releasing a new game every month to keep the subs paying? I think most people either binge when the game they want is released and plan their days out so they maximize their play so they get their money's worth for that month. Since a recent leak revealed that 75% purchased the Series S version over the X one, I think I can see many subscribers doing this like most other subscription models out there you see for streaming. Microsoft just really needs to ramp up its game output.
The problem is games take too long to develop so they have to buy games for new games to keep coming, they need to make permanent deals to keep games on GP liked they seemed to do with Yakuza series or it will never be able to hold onto value
Spencer is a literal moron. He put all his eggs in one basket with his Game Pass obsession, and now they can't back out despite it being a complete failure.
He's been the head of Xbox for a decade now, and in that time he has done nothing but fail at every single thing. He's launched a flop of a console including one that is so pathetically weak developers hate it for holding the entire generation back, killed just about every beloved IP Xbox had, wasted billions of dollars buying every studio he can get his hands on, only to have them all release nothing, or worse, complete flops, and now he's chained them to this sinking ship that is Game Pass.
>We need microtransactions because games are still 60 >games are now 70 or even 80 >So why do you still add microtransactions? >Stop noticing things goyim

It's never enough for them and they include ESG and ugly hags too.
>introduce a good deal at low price >gain lots of subscribers >slowly increase the price, people are too lazy to cancel >keep increasing price and lowering value
This applies to every streaming/subscription service. Not just game pass. Don't support them. Buy or pirate your games.
I don't even get how game streaming is even supposed to be profitable unless you own everything, It makes sense for movies cause they make the bulk of their money at the theatre and then they're sold to to the streaming services. Seems like day one game pass is just cannibalizing sales.
Gamepass isnt streaming, it's more like video game rental. Also tv streaming services are losing billions of dollars because no single service has all the content people wanna watch and it costs billions to add new content to keep people subscribed. Gamepass makes money through the idea that the average gamer normally buy 2 games every year and gamepass means they're gonna spend more than the amount they would buy games at full price every year and buy all the DLC and microtransactions that go with it. The fact that the service adds onto revenue rather than takes away from it due to selling the same games at full price on steam and other platforms, they make more money overall.
actually they're on 30 million now according to the latest numbers
>30 million
Source? >Forbes: The last time we had subscriber numbers revealed from Microsoft was in January of 2022, 25 million. Between now and then, you’d imagine we’d at least be approaching 30 million, or gone past it, even if Microsoft hadn’t announced that mark.

At 500m revenue a year they'll probably pay for that Activsion aquisition in about two centuries.'
If they double their revenue and reduce their ongoing costs of paying for games (some cost up to 100m to put on the service) they're still 80 years in the hole. How the frick does this make sense?
We live in a post-capitalist society where actually generating profit doesn't matter anymore. Just growing bigger and bigger. It doesn't matter if you take up 10 trillion in debts as long as oyu end up becoming the number one player in the process.
Everything gets funded through endless investor cashflows and banks printing money out of thin air to finance more buyout in order to simulate growth for their investors.
You know we are past the point of logic when economic leaders say >we are in a massive recession and bankrupt companies pile up left and right - this is great and a sign for growth because now the government will step in and raise the raids wihle bailing everyone out.

That model works when you have rock bottom interest rates (2008-2021) but falls apart when investors are demanding returns on their investments.
That's the reason so many tech companies are struggling right now. They don't have access to cheap money.
It was at 25m subs for 9 months in 2022 according to the court documents and phil spencer said it was because xbox has a piss poor 2022 with no games. As of right now a MS employee confirmed 30m subs. Sony in the ftc case also said their calculations have gamepass at 30m subs.
Can you really blame them, why offer a better deal than Sony when every Sony player would rather bend over and take it up the ass and pay double then switch to someone that offers a better service. Xbox is banking on xbox players having this same stockholm syndrome
Amazon Prime are gonna add ads to their amazon prime video service next year and they're like one of the biggest outside of netflix. Even Netflix has added ads now.
Either prices go up or you see more ads for everything.

>bought gemepass for a Euro once >think of reactivating subscription >sent to English xbox site >price in poojeetrunes
Either a funny coincidence or cruel joke
I wouldn't even mind if they increased the price because the value they're offering is almost too good to be true. There's isn't another sub that I've come across from entertainment to phone contract that offers as much as gamepass does right now with the day 1 games, pc gamepass included, cloud streaming included etc. I paid £90 for 3 years of the sub with their upgrade offer.
>pays literall billions to have trash like Jedi Survivor and Suicide Squad on his rental service >G-guys, Im afraid the price must go up a tiny bit, hehe
Why is Microsoft run by morons, is that what free money from Windows/Office licenses do to the brain?
PS+ has tons of good games. Over the past year I've played >Unpacking >Judgment >Sea of Stars >Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War >Scarlet Nexus >Gravity Rush 2 >Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy >Rogue Legacy 2 >Yakuza 6 >My Friend Pedro >MediEvil >Life is Strange True Colours >Horizon Forbidden West >Ratchet And Clank Trilogy >God of War Trilogy >Deathloop >Stray
>Service is obviously just another enshittification scam >WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?
This was always going to happen after it moved out of the initial stages.
A service where a go-between charges you rent to access products made by other people is not a tenable designed philosophy and is always just a series of baited hooks for everyone who thinks that they're getting a good deal.
First the consumers will get reeled in, then the content creators, then the ancillary advertisers/payment providers and associated grifters, then the enshittification service dies and the shareholders make off with profit.
no shit lol
even a child could tell you that that's the entire business plan of these 'as a service' products
you get people invested in the ecosystem then you can do whatever you want
Reminder that PC Gamepass is a flop and that the vast majority of subscribers are the xbox console users. Who just use it to play online for the most parts.
My phone contract is £20 a month with a lot of data, which I'd be paying regardless if it came with gamepass or not. Gamepass ultimate by itself is like £10.99 a month if I was paying for it separately. It works out.
Capitalism expects constant growth. Games increasing in price isn't the real issue, it's people's wages not rising with the rest of the economy. Don't let your governments and employers pass blame
every single person who didn't think the price will go up once they got the market is a literal biobot and should be the carbon that gets reduced first
This was expected. Especially considering I've been paying $2 a month with a Turkish VPN, this "oversight" is 100% getting fixed as well.
But Microsoft expected way bigger numbers for GamePass, the number of subscribers has been stagnant / decreasing compared to the COVID years.
Their plan was to release a constant stream of AAA games, immediately available on GamePass, to attract a massive number of users. Which they have been doing, except said AAA games are... well... Halo Infinite, Redfall, Deathloop, Starfield...
Honestly, their strategy made sense on paper. But they fricked up the most important part: make good videogames. And now they're fricked. GamePass has been bleeding money for way too long.
Their plan: "I don't care they're increasing the price to $20, I get an awesome AAA videogame every month! It's still great value!"
Reality: "Why am I even paying $15 a month for this? The last good game I played on this thing was Hi-Fi Rush, almost a year ago."
>Our restaurant isn't getting enough customers because they think it's too expensive >So we have no choice but to raise our prices more >Oh, no customers are coming at all >Uh oh, we're bankrupt and gotta close down.
This company can't stop losing.

we keep winning pc bros

A service where a go-between charges you rent to access products made by other people is not a tenable designed philosophy and is always just a series of baited hooks for everyone who thinks that they're getting a good deal.
First the consumers will get reeled in, then the content creators, then the ancillary advertisers/payment providers and associated grifters, then the enshittification service dies and the shareholders make off with profit.
me? i'm playing kirby robobot on my old 3ds, for free.
never paid for an online subscription, and never eill
no shit lol
even a child could tell you that that's the entire business plan of these 'as a service' products
you get people invested in the ecosystem then you can do whatever you want
Good to know that Microsoft is out of gaming by 2027
So according to Jimmy PS is doomed.
Not my problem. Just release the games on PC on day 1.
Reminder that PC Gamepass is a flop and that the vast majority of subscribers are the xbox console users. Who just use it to play online for the most parts.
Phil lost.
Microsoft lost.
Technically price hikes are inevitable on everything so long as we are using funny money as a currency.
I get gamepass for free as part of my phone contract so any price increases don't affect me.
My phone contract is £20 a month with a lot of data, which I'd be paying regardless if it came with gamepass or not. Gamepass ultimate by itself is like £10.99 a month if I was paying for it separately. It works out.
So what you're saying is that it's not free.
Its free for him, since it included in a service which he would pay for regardless you dumb frick
Doesn't matter, it's included in the price. He's still paying for it.
>pay money
>obtain service
>free
Capitalism expects constant growth. Games increasing in price isn't the real issue, it's people's wages not rising with the rest of the economy. Don't let your governments and employers pass blame
As long they get Activision/Blizzard games on it.
They haven't tried making good games yet. That which is considered the best in modern gaming, is really just mediocre in reality.
What's a "good game" these days? Games with soft CP made in Japan or korea?
Of course not. That's just one side of the terrible games coin.
Why is Phil Spencer a fricking disaster to Xbox gaming?
Lol every since he took over the company has been a disaster and a fricking joke.
>TFW you will never have fun just like the Xbox 360 days
even with gift cards, $100 is too much. if they raise it again they can get fricked in the ass
every single person who didn't think the price will go up once they got the market is a literal biobot and should be the carbon that gets reduced first
I wanna coom what's the sexiest thing on game pass?
PC game pass I mean
you anon :3
Thanks anon but I'm not into men
>ITT
They already raised the price.
>inflation exist
>manchildren: WOW
Let me guess, you think bread will forever cost the same.
The only thing I wanna have inflated is my goddamned butthole.
>so it's whatever, right?
outstanding journalism
>Our restaurant isn't getting enough customers because they think it's too expensive
>So we have no choice but to raise our prices more
>Oh, no customers are coming at all
>Uh oh, we're bankrupt and gotta close down.
Gamepass is incredible value for the money you're paying. You expect to pay 5 bucks for the rest of eternity? It was always bound to happen.
