Halo 3 was worse than 2 and CE in every way but marketing.
I was never into multiplayer Halo, but many people over the years have said that Halo 3 had the best multiplayer of the original trilogy. It also had Forge.
Halo 3 is just a better version of 2, so it's better than it by default. Halo CE just lacks a ton of polish, so it's not fair to compare the two.
It seems like Xbox has had good AA games but have really struggled to get a new AAA IP since the 360 era. Ori, Cuphead, Hi-Fi Rush are all good but not system sellers. You can also play them elsewhere.

Hi-Fi Rush is a Tango Gameworks game (Shinji Mikami's studio until he left after the Xbox merger), they were owned by Bethesda. Bethesda was owned by Zenimax Media. Microsoft bought Zenimax media in its' entirety.
So you see, Microsoft did not have anything to do with developing Hi-Fi Rush or making it a good game. They simply wrote a check and bought the studio who made that game. Microsoft can not create, only consume, and inevitably, destroy. MS doesn't buy Zenimax, Hi-Fi releases on every console, like the Evil Within and Ghostwire Tokyo, which are also Tango Gameworks games.
same could be said about sony. All these naughty dog and insomniac games would've been multiplat if sony didn't pay for exclusivity and then outright bought them. Sony used to have their own studio but they closed it down. So basically the only natural grown studio now is nintendo
Sony started working with Naughty Dog and Insomniac back when they were no-name developers and helped grow them into huge industry names, MS never tried to foster anything with devs except possibly Bungie, who couldn't wait to get away from MS
No, there's a difference. Hi_Fi Rush was done when MS bought them. Sony is funding the creation of these new games. And although they are woke and embarrassing, and more movie than video game, at least they are trying to create new things. Let's see what Tango Gameworks creates now that MS owns them and they have no new games in the pipeline. Let's see what they make from scratch under them. Same thing with Bethesda and Starfield, and even Elder Scrolls 6. Let's see what Bethesda does from scratch now that MS owns them, not what MS inherited that they were already working on/finished with. Call me skeptical, but I still remember what they did to RARE.

Crash Bandicoot and Spyro only existed because of funding from Sony in the first place. Sony bought Naughty Dog after already funding them for the entirety of the PS1 era. They kept funding Insomniac for Ratchet and Clank, but didn't buy them until Insomniac's game with Microsoft utterly failed.
Jak and Daxter, and Ratchet and Clank wouldn't have been multiplatform at any point. They wouldn't even have gotten funding to make them in the first place.

The irony of course is the dude talking about Nintendo. The majority of their studios are A and AA teams that they invested in during the 90s and 00s. If Pokemon hadn't become a juggernaut so quickly Nintendo probably would have outright bought Game Freak by the mid 00s.

They had great games in the Xbox and 360 eras nothing I’d really want to play now sadly. Well there’s one exception, MS Flight Sim. I’ll never have a pc again and my laptop is garbage so that’s the only thing I’d really like to see. Why we get Farming, Train and Truck sims but no flying is a downright tragedy. Ace Combat and this stuff doesn’t count.

XBL and gamepass are separate things but are grouped in gamepass ultimate which is what most people get.

Xbox Live is now "Gamepass Core". You get 25 games. Xbox Live doesn't exist anymore.
That's still a shit deal though. Even on ps+s low tier you get 36 games a year and they don't cycle out as long as you kerp paying your sub, which presumably you will if you're only doing it for online.

I would be happy if that's true. While I paid for (and enjoyed) the original X-box Live because it was doing shit that consoles were floundering with at the time (PS2 online FRICKING SUCKED), the fact that people were paying $50-70 a year for using their network connection was bullshit, especially in the age of P2P connections past Halo 2.
