>Worse battle brothers and northgard artstyle
lie and lie.
It doesn't play like chess, so it immediately shits all over butt brothers.
Artstyle is more like mount&blade bannerlord, the overworld and UI and color palette feel very much like an m&b game. You're either blind or have never played northgard
>Artstyle is more like it's late 00s and brown-grey is all in vogue again
ftfy
This game has nothing to do with M&B, even if it wanted to. >You're either blind
Irony at its finest
Wartales is just obnoxious case of yet another mudcore, that sells on the promise that playing as bunch of stinking random homosexuals armed with rusty weapons is le ebic and superior to having an actual game with gameplay loop that doesn't get stale and tiresome in 30 minutes. It has zero tactical depth, making it boring to play. It looks like someone overdone the medieval filter. And on top of it all, it also runs like ass.
Great game, m8. I r8 8/8
Ok, Northgard artstyle with medieval filter as other anon says. I played it for like an hour and I wasn't impressed with the gameplay. There is simply other games that do it better.
a slightly worse battle brothers, slightly casualized, with no helmet and brown medieval colors, even in a world as grim as BB they got the colors right, combat isnt as depthful as BB, and the builds existed are rather limited here
but there are few things that i like here, like the handcrafted map, the camping feature and the animal taming stuff are the few things i wish BB had
If we put BB as the bottom of the scale, then tactics in WT are in negative values. The game is brain-dead, which is big part of why it's so incredibly boring to play.
It's alright. Basically a slightly different take on the Battle Brothers formula. I don't like that it's a class-based, story-based game unlike BB's more freeform style, but other than that it's fairly enjoyable.
Battle Brothers for girls. >very forgiving combat - the game isn't really built with mercenary death in mind >hero-style mercenaries (special abilities that enemies don't have and loads of extra attacks) >HP sponge level-scaling >ingredient gathering and crafting >static, pre-generated world that waits for you >minigames for everything, from fishing to crafting to dance dance revolution
Still had fun, tho.
Battle brothers but slighty worse.
There is no hit percentage and for some dumb reason all your dudes begin separated at the begining of battle alongside the enemies. Also female warriors.
I'm really enjoying it. I have not played Battle Brothers though. It is making me want to get Bannerlord. Does anyone know if Bannerlord has a Europe mod like Warband did?
nice for what it is but severely lacking in a lot of aspects
like they couldn't decide between having the game play like Battle Brothers and playing like a Larianshit rpg so there's abilities and mechanics meant for one or the other and it eventually becomes distractingly apparent how much of a mess it is
which is a shame because there's a lot of potential and the world grew on me as I ran around it though it might be a case where an open world game is held back by not repopulating locations like the dungeons and big bandit camps
it wouldn't feel like it needs these things to repopulate if it didn't take so long to move onto a new area or so much of what you do is chase randomly spawned bands of enemies so the fights in any actual locations end up feeling few and far between
given time it might turn into something really fun to have in case of a rainy day but as it is now too many of the systems are barebones, half thought out, or both
Bland and boring game that has nothing new to offer after sinking grand total of 100 minutes of it. You already saw everything there is to be seen in such short time, so it's still refundable.
It's fun for what it is, I enjoyed the early game combat, the ruin diving, and the animal taming aspects. Camp feature is amazing and one of it's highpoints. I like that you can actually make money and live just fine solely trading unlike BB, the "job" system is neat (And that you can also force prisoners to work for you like a slave camp) and I like that the game rewards you for perusing a particular "path" as you do stuff, my only real complain is that late game enemies don't really get harder, they just become HP sponges.
I really wish late game enemies had your abilities and able to use oils, I can only achieve that by using a mod that allows it.
It loses its charm long before you finish your second region. The battles aren't well thought out (both teams are randomly scattered across the battlefield and turn orders are simply shuffled)
>BB is like M&B, because it is, ok?
I mean you could easily point out they are ripping off Warhammer Fantasy (and it's not even funny, it's literally a game set in the Confederacy), but here you are, bullshitting.
a good time, the game is fun and playing it for the first time might overwhelm you because there is alot to do and the quests have some rpg elements where you can shift the outcome
its pretty linear, so replaying it doesnt feel that fun but if its your first time you could easily spend a few hundred hours in it before getting bored
its an alright game but they fricked up by not giving it any endgame. It's a pointless game. You walk around, buff your dudes, find some armor that raises your second HP bar real high, finish the region quests, and that's it. It should have a local warlord endgame where you conquer all settlements and locations, turning the overworld into a warzone with kingdom(s) fighting you with their regular army. Alas, the game doesn't have much popularity and I doubt anyone will mod this much effort into it
no helmets and brown colors
Helmets are in
does it still have medieval filter on?
I had fun with it in the early access. Not sure I have the stomach to replay it again now that the full thing is out. It’s janky but fun.
Worse battle brothers and northgard artstyle
Nice. I like to play bad game first then better game afterward. I will try out battle brothers after playing this thank you for the tip.

such as? (no BB)

They added helmet options a while ago.
the combat skills and class design is a bit novel and makes combat fun, but the rest of the game is lackluster.
Battle Brothers but soulless and shite
is the combat more tactical than BB? i love BB but the truth is it was mostly a strategy game, tactics were very simplistic.
If we put BB as the bottom of the scale, then tactics in WT are in negative values. The game is brain-dead, which is big part of why it's so incredibly boring to play.
Refund it while you still can.
It's an incredibly boring slog that's the epitome of everything wrong with mudcore

You are in for a fun time.
It loses its charm long before you finish your second region. The battles aren't well thought out (both teams are randomly scattered across the battlefield and turn orders are simply shuffled)
a bunch of buttholes ripping off someone elses game
like BB copying mount and blade right?

A good game, but a little repetitive
At least they listened to the players and put on helmets
