I have a pretty well fleshed out concept for a pirate game like this, essentially blended together from the best elements of Sid Meier's Pirates, Grand Strategy, and Heat Signature, and it's probably too much of an ask, but I'd also like to see sailing and naval combat in the style of Black Flag.
You can choose to only recruit crew of the same origin as your character, which in the cases of the
large European groups gives you better crew cohesion and better prices when trading in ports owned by that colonial power, but worse prices from foreign colonies your power isn't allied with at the moment. Lower bonuses for Spain, medium bonuses for France, and high bonuses for England, with special bonuses for The Netherlands and no special downsides because they start in such a poor situation.
Or you could choose to have a multiethnic crew of Europeans and receive bonuses to establishing and operating independent pirate settlements as well as making it easier to commit piracy against all European powers without combat, but your relationship with all European powers starts lower and your bounty grows slightly faster.
Or even a truly meritocratic diverse crew including freed slaves and native Americans. Which gives bonuses for forcing European powers out of the Caribbean, your bounty grows more slowly at first, then rapidly as you become a thorn in the colonials' sides. At first you're only able to trade with Spain, but once you're proven a threat to the whole colonial ecosystem, you're stuck with Taino and Carib villages and raiding European plantations to replenish your crew and supplies.
And that doesn't even get into the other mechanics and decisions you can make outside of your background.
I have a mostly complete design document and I wish someone would show interest in working on it, because I can't. All I'm qualified to do is write a lot of event text. I don't think the scope is unreasonable either.
The idea is that you can shape the goals and philosophy of your character and crew to follow a wide array of historical, alt-historical and ahistorical paths. Be a pirate or a privateer. A slaver or a liberator. Establish your own colony, or just a corner of the Caribbean where no monarch rules, or a free Caribbean as a coalition of any of the people groups present. Conquer the new world for The Netherlands, or cement Spain's control as given by Papal decree. Create English Mexico, or play as a particularly charismatic and forward thinking native to push out colonial powers.
Whichever frickface at Ubisoftwieners who wrote this shit is SOOO out of touch it's not even funny.
Maybe some 40-50+ yr old boomer who thinks gamers are all in kindergarden or some shit
>Be nice :^)
These are always the fricking worst because who the frick knows what's "being nice"?
Imagine if the only law was >Be a good person
You think that shit would work?
But then, specifying rules would mean you abdicate the power to ban people whenever you want.
This is why a company will never write in their TOS: >You may not say "Black person Black person Black person"
YASUKE WAS NEVER A SAMURAI. Nobunaga kept him around because he was a novelty and learned the language faster than any other foreigner he knew of. And that was because he had nothing else productive to do for an extended period of time.

I don't have a problem with Ubisoft including Yasuke, but it boggles the mind that they're basically having him as the protag. In every single asscreed game historical figures were guest characters in the story, and the main character was completely made up and not based on anyone.
for people who dont play video games by people who dont play video games
>pirate game steals your money
I don't see the problem.
>pirate game is not worth pirating
>pirate game expects you to be nice, not cheat and not hurt anyone in any way
i
>market a game for uncivilized mongrels
>make rules that those uncivilized mongrels are most likely to break
First two make sense but not the third. What if I don't want to use safety features or report other people? Are they going to ban me too?
Do you really wanna let a couple of gay furries erp in public chat?
Game for loser Black folk that couldn't be street Black folk
Ah, yes.
> Be nice
> Be fair
> be safe
The core principles championed by pirates since time immemorial.
yes, didn't you read the pirate code?
>playing any ubisoft game at all made in the last ten years
I love steep. I don't want it to die like the crew
I used to like for honor as well

pirates get the rope
why play this when sea of thieves exists
why play sea of thieves when naval action exists
>pirate games
>rules
there is no honor among pirates
what type of Black person made this shit?

Man, the guy in that screencap doesn't have a clue. The overlap between those is like 65% in general, and 80% among a specific age group.
>said "u r homosexual" in furry discord
>got banned
Does that what he means?
I hope Ubisoft actually learns something from this and actually makes the game they were supposed to.
So they don't even include white people anymore
At least it's easy to see who this game was made for
Is the "pirate" in your post meant as an adjective or a verb?
You are playing it tho OP.
I do think it's alright and I will keep an eye on it. Curious to see how Season 1 goes. I used up my trial time though.
Jesus, the frogs are so fricking POZZED holy shit!
They went from gif related to THAT in a decade or less
>frogs
This pirate game like product was made by like 20 sub studios from all over the world, I dont think we can blame the French for this one.
Ubishit Quebec is making pic related

there's always a good excuse to blame the french
>"safety"
someone said something I AM UNSAFE!!
>Don't be a c**t
Fair enough?
>LONG LIVE PIRACY!
Lol. There’s no way that the marketing team will survive this frick up
>game in dev so long it supports the stadia controller
