Tourist Simulator. It's like Euro Truck simulator, but instead of driving trucks, you ride as a passenger in Taxis, Trains, Planes, Ships and Buses (you can also explore the larger vehicles). You can also walk around and enter various interiors around major tourist areas like New York, Miami, Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Moscow, Honolulu, Ibiza, Madagascar and Berlin.

that actually sounds like something that would really sell well to normies and the elderly, especially if you make it just real enough to feel ""authentic"" and then fill in the rest with well-known benign stereotypes, such as the British being too polite and in France everyone smokes and there's no fast food. genuinely pretty good idea, anon.

A factory building game, but you can design your own machines to have different characteristics.

A factory building game, except you have to build digital factories inside of physical machines to run said physical factory, where the digital factory inside the machine decides what the machine itself does.

        Anonymous

Actually, this idea is potentially worth exploring.
        >A research system that has the usual stuff like belt splitters and upgraded belts for faster throughput
        >Digital factories can have upgrades of their own
        >And also, physical machines can be generic blocks that have input/output slots carved out of them according to their "programming", which means you make the biggest limiting factor machine size, research bigger machines lets you make bigger digital factories and thus make more dynamic machines

Singleplayer first person melee slasher where you fight soldiers, knights, wizards, hazardous wildlife, and other fantastical creatures. You play as a landsknecht fighting a war for coin, and your reputation quickly skyrockets and spirals out of control. Before each mission, you kit yourself out like a mecha game or like Ace Combat/Project Wigman, with different pieces of armor offering a variety of stats ranging from defensive but restricting movement to liberating but made of paper, not to say anything about the weapon choices. You can bring companions of various skill sets to give you stronger support than basic friendly units, but if their HP reaches 0, they get carted out and each consecutive time that happens, a chance of them actually dying rises.

I've had a similar idea to this but it's more vehicle based like old tank games or Ace Combat etc with your horse being the vehicle and being fully customizable, with a focus on cavalry combat and dismounted fighting being secondary/situational. I pictured a condottiero rather than a landsknecht, but that seems sick too

Basically give me Battlebots/Robot Wars but MMO. Where you can build your own robot with countless options for body shapes, weapons, movement options and so on. Then after be able to fight other players' robots in either casual matches, tournaments or so on to get funds to improve your bot, get to higher ranks and eventually become the ultimate robot tism master by the end.

Robocraft was similar to that idea, but more of a team battle thing.
Sadly, the game is a husk of its former self, if it's even still in service, tanked by horrible design decisions one after another.

RPG where you design your own skills via a grid-based, open-ended puzzle, revolving around taking an input object (a bit of mana, stamina, or just an abstraction) and transporting it to an output, with the route and the blocks you use modifying the input along the way. Every party member gets a different set of basic building blocks and has somewhat different mechanics to the puzzles that make up their skills.
Creative players can make their own, uncreative players can netdeck "optimal" designs and just play it like a regular RPG. You get new building blocks for skills both from leveling up and from quest rewards/exploration/loot.

Well just the other day I was thinking how cool a game that's a cross between Cyberpunk 2077 and Battle Network would be. You'd have a character for the physical world (human), and a character for the world connected to computers or the internet (navi). Two different characters, with different skillsets, which you can customize differently. When you connect your navi to appliances, it's like its own little dungeon, filled with viruses or malicious buttholes that you have to delete. I don't really have much more than that though.

      Anonymous

So, just Battle Network but a bit grittier, 3D, open world, and with some emphasis on the real world. Not a horrible premise, but I'd want to hear more about what sort of mechanics you're picturing before I jump in. And of course, are you planning on using the same gameplay for the overworld and the net, or are you going to try and make a game with two entirely separate styles of gameplay, both meant to be enjoyable and diverse? That kind of scope kills projects.

        >I'd want to hear more about what sort of mechanics you're picturing before I jump in.
I'm not really sure, this was just an idea I had a couple days ago so I haven't really given it much thought yet.
        >are you planning on using the same gameplay for the overworld and the net, or are you going to try and make a game with two entirely separate styles of gameplay, both meant to be enjoyable and diverse?
Well, the way their gameplay would differ is that the sort of attacks the navi uses would be a lot more unrealistic, like shooting flamethrowers from your arm, being able to throw ice bombs, or summoning a barrier that negates a certain amount of damage. There would be maybe 7-10 of these attacks you would get throughout the game (not including your base attacks, one sword and another a gun/buster), maybe you'd be allowed to only equip 3 or something and each one has a cooldown. The overworld would be a big open world area like in Cyberpunk, and whenever you connect your navi into appliances, most of the time it would be smaller areas where you have to kill everything to unlock some door or lock, or gather some intel about where the human needs to go next. Also maybe the human can connect the navi to himself through a port on his body to enhance his combat capabilities. Maybe like a slowdown time effect, higher rate of fire for guns, faster running speed or something like that. For a limited amount of time.

Now these ideas sound more concrete, and pretty cool. So it's not quite an even split, but story-wise, both parts of it are important. I'd play it in a general sense, kinda wish something like this was in the works now. Thanks for sharing.

similar overworld, UI, and combat to Mount & Blade but instead of recruiting villagers to join your army you steal/recover corpses to turn into zombies which in turn can gather resources and bodies to make more zombies etc etc til the entire kingdom kneels before you as the Lord of the Dead. I've had this idea for a while of anyone cares to hear more.

There was a mod for the original mount and blade that had a similar system where you could raise all sorts of undead and gather corpse bits to make patchwork zombies and stuff, it was cool. Can't remember the name but it was one of the more popular ones so it shouldn't be too hard to find.

My dream game would be something entirely centered around WoW Vanilla's PvP. Tab-targeting combat with multiple classes and a ton of situational spells at your disposal, so every class has a way of outsmarting opponents. There'd be multiple gamemodes like 1v1, arena and battlegrounds. I have some programming skills and tab-targeting combat doesn't seem that hard to make, but I'm a shit artist and can't make 3d models or anything like that. Maybe one day I'll have the money to hire some artists, time will tell

the overseas region of the not-soviet union is descending into conflict and conspiracy. your family calls you back from your pilgrimage to help defend your home in a newly formed PMC from said family and others from around town with the blessing of the local law officer and mafia.
The situation excalate to such a degree that people from all over the world start showing up, entire rogue armies and mercs as well as secret services, from not-china and not-US to not-huezil and not-africa, all the while the PMC turn from a squad of militia to an actual army with its name well spoken through the region, and you a "hero" to some and "butcher" to others, for dealing with clicks and groups that were wrecking the region.
the second playthrough is worth it because you get the option to recruit some of the bosses that you previously fought, each with different strenghts or playstyles, as well as a different story path completely

A third person shooter with little emphasis to cover and more forward charge in bursts of time, to make the guns actual dangerous but not tedious. How about it?

    >Battlefield: Aftermath

Highly controversial multiplayer shooter set in an eerily realistic version of the United States in the early stages of civil war. Traditional franchise capture-and-hold formula set to realistic locales like American suburbs and cities. Matchups include FBI versus Antifa and BLM versus Homeowners.

    >Drifter

Single-player sandbox shooter with an emphasis on hilarious violence and player empowerment. Make your way across America from level to level as a homeless bum who can kick, punch, piss, harass, shoot, and do almost anything that you can imagine in the presence of a living, breathing populace that reacts realistically. Spiritual successor to Postal 2.

    >Messiah: The Reckoning

Third-person shooter sequel to Messiah. God sends a loveable dog with the ability to possess NPCs to Earth so he can create conditions for the End of Days over the course of a long and engaging single-player campaign. Possession mechanics, free-roam gameplay, and a high degree of player choice make this a hilarious non-linear adventure.

    >Girlfriend Simulator

Action RPG akin to Monster Hunter but you play as a customizable mesugaki hunting down evil ojisans in order to protect your school. All the action is through blueballing, obviously. There's two types of play styles, "Brat" and "Bitch" where the former is ranged combat where you verbally abuse and tease them to submission and "Bitch" is where you get physical and grope and tease them until they explode.

I had an idea of a German noble family who would send their men out on campaigns as auxiliaries. Then they would return after the wars and the money earned would be spent to improve the family castle with the goal trying to get as big and fancy castle as possible.

It would probably work well as a roguelite game but in my mind I still prefer it as something closer to crusader kings.

By Germans I mean the ones that fought for the British in the American war of independence. Working title for the game is "The Hessians"
