Game looks boring, but I think its unfair to hate on the art style. You don't have to like it, but to call it bad is disingenuous. Reminds me of people saying Hot Rod Creeps has ugly art, but the art was a specific style that was supposed to look ugly like it does. Ugly =/= bad.
I wish idiots would stop giving c**ts like you easy bait fodder
it's not "it looks so bad on purpose"
it just actually looks good, you are a moron if you think art is bad just because it was made in ms paint
like actual low iq default opinions
get some fricking taste beyond photorealism
>this game looks like mspaint >this game looks like flash >this game looks like brown n bloom >this game looks like unity >this game looks like a ps3 game >this game looks like chink shit >this game looks like western shit
This game looks good for an mspaint game and you're a black baby.
im just happy to see an american game that doesnt have a bunch of homosexuals, or diversity checklist throwaway characters, or calartsyle or fake anime rwby style, or furry trash
you're looking in the entirely wrong area of western game development for that and everything you've described isn't even that common in AAA where it's most prevalent
I think pepperman is a bit derivative of wario, noise has a more fun and intresting moveset and he already basically has a story made for him. it'd be pretty easy.
Yeah I liked the pizza box thing too, but I understand why it was changed. in the frantic gameplay of pizza tower its kind of hard to see unless you already know where it is. the crates are better overall for accessability.

I get the feeling a lot of the smaller stuff was changed for easy readability at a glance. >toppins in crates rather than flat pizza boxes >all transformations cured by pizza priests now instead of having their own cures

i prefer the priests to the individual cures honestly, they are funny and having religion be a consistant positive theme is a nice change for once

I really feel like people overestimate the amount of stories where religion is portrayed negatively.

its probably alot less then i think but most of the time i see it it is portrayed negatively or parts where it is in are the worst parts of that media (see: the simpsons)

I like the priests because it characterizes Peppino as a good catholic since he is Italian.
In Pizzascare Peppino is even exorcising ghosts with the help of the priests.
It's pretty astonishing seeing all the crabs come out of the woodwork to shit on this game when I've been following it since its inception and people had nothing but good things to say about it.
It doesn't look like it's for me, and I have some gripes about the visual clarity and readability of the game, but I can tell who the game is for and I think those people are probably having a good time. Seems to be doing well enough on steam, at any rate.
Where the FRICK is the treasure in Wasteyard? I can't find it for the life of me. I remember getting it in the eggplant build but I don't remember where I found it in the level
This level is really fricking hard to p rank
probably lack of familiarity with gustavo, but there's also some really long gaps between enemies/munchies
This is a tiny nitpick but it would be nice if secrets had placeholder spots that suggested where they are in the level based on their order. Like star coins in Mario games, or the set order of toppins in this game.
it is a game for speedrunner, thats the audience
I think it would have been smarter to try and capture a wider audience this time but hey its not my game
You think having to hold the Mach speed button and bouncing off walls and fumbling all over the place is fun? It’s sad too because the normal controls are good but you have to Mach speed to break through shit, tumble into blocks and get the big jump

I don't understand this sentiment. You're not timed at all and the only benefit of going fast is to get a good combo which doesn't gatekeep you from anything in the level. Sure you have to hold R sometimes to get through certain terrain but it's fun and trivially easy, just like in Wario Land.
I beat pepperman. What now?
You think having to hold the Mach speed button and bouncing off walls and fumbling all over the place is fun? It’s sad too because the normal controls are good but you have to Mach speed to break through shit, tumble into blocks and get the big jump
Frick off. If I want to play a racing game I’ll play a racing game
He fricked it up. Deal with it
I'm convinced that people like you are actually just panicking about combos and trying to sightread a level going for high tier strategies they haven't even conceived of yet. Just play the fricking game and take the B rank on your first playthrough.
>I don't understand this sentiment. You're not timed at all and the only benefit of going fast is to get a good combo which doesn't gatekeep you from anything in the level.
it makes some amount of sense if you consider the level design. look at john gutter, the very first level. it's fairly obstacleless, right? it doesn't have much of interest in it if you're going slow. playing slow kind of reveals that the game wants you to go fast, and it's demonstrative in the very first level. later levels are much more involved with enemies and geometry, but that first level sets a not-so-silent expectation in the player's mind of how the game wants you to play. resulting in this
Not going fast at all times feels bad and like you are not playing correctly, its that simple.
Having put 15 hours into the game now and gotten past my own "it's too fast!" complaints, I think the game makes two really big mistakes:
1. Seemingly lots of emphasis on rank and combo. With the way your ranking shows up on screen at all times, it makes rank seem like a REALLY big deal.
2. The gap between A and S is way too high. This isn't a big deal once you know how to actually get an S rank, but a first time player is going to end up really confused if they manage to get all secrets, toppins, and the treasure and still just barely manage to get past an A because they haven't unlocked 2nd laps yet (I imagine the odds of someone unlocking 2nd laps with their first time through John Gutter is extremely slim), so they're going to think "man, I guess I need to get more combos and go faster" and try to rush through the levels, keeping their combo meter up.
I'm speaking from personal experience with these two, but I'm also basing this on hearing similar complaints about the speed from my friends.
I think 2nd laps in particular are something that need to be unlocked from the start and explained in the tutorial, because leaving them locked for 99% of people until halfway through the game when it's absolutely mandatory for S ranks is causing a lot of confusion.
I thought 2nd laps are unlocked when repeating a level or immediately by beating the tutorial in under 2 minutes, not by beating half the game or whatever
>Seemingly lots of emphasis on rank and combo. With the way your ranking shows up on screen at all times, it makes rank seem like a REALLY big deal.
games that are about self-improvement/mastery and include a ranking system also commonly do the following for casual players: make the near best rank very attainable with just passable play. we see this in bayonetta, in dmc, in hi-fi rush, and in pizza tower. it is near trivial to get an A on your first time through so long as you are doing most of the things in a level. so yes there's a focus on rank, but it's also designed that normal people can feel good about themselves, which is what matters for a game having casual appeal.
i'm in agreement on the lap 2 element. i was wondering what the frick those weird pizza portals were for well over half the game myself, i was only explicitly told about them when going for a second playthrough and blitzing through the tutorial, and only then did i start to realize that the half-yellow A was wanting me to do the 2nd lap the entire time to get an S. there are several parts of the game that could be explained better for sure.
To clarify, even though I said the gap between A and S are too high, I think the way ranks are handled right now is perfect. I don't want him to change the gaps between any of the rankings.
I just think that showing the ranking on the UI at all times is what's leading to people thinking the game needs to be played much faster than it actually needs to be played. Let's use Sonic Adventure 2 as an example. SA2 doesn't show your rank until you finish the stage. A majority of people will see their rank and move on, with a smaller minority of people going back and explicitly working on getting a higher rank. Rank only showing up at the end of the stage shows that it's a much less important element of the game.
Having the ranking on screen at all times is extremely helpful if you're going for a specific rank, but it's extra pressure on a more casual player if they don't know what rank they should be shooting for. That's all I really mean.
I know there's randomly spawning hub pizzas that explain stuff like parries, uppercuts, 2nd laps, and P rank, but all of that stuff should really be in the tutorial even if it's more obscure info.
Weirdly, it looks like there's something about the 2nd lap mechanic in the text for the tutorials, but I have no idea how the highlighted text gets triggered. I'm not seeing it in either the tutorial or John Gutter after unlocking the 2nd lap.

I don't think the rank being up there is a big deal, but if it affects people like you say, then a good compromise would be having the rank meter hidden on your first playthrough for each level. You can even have it unlock for first playthroughs if you beat the tutorial fast enough, like the lap 2 portals

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Keep it off the UI until after your first run of a level, then show it on the UI for all subsequent plays (or unlock it from the start if you're good enough)
some of those lines i definitely didn't come across. the pizza ladies have a mix of flavor lines and useful lines and after i ran into too many flavor lines i stopped caring about reading their dialogue to my detriment it appears. hubtips7 in particular is hugely useful because it's impossible to go into a belly slam from a jump when mach 3 (you get dive instead), had no idea you could go into something equivalent with one extra button press. this is all information that could be more thoughtfully shown to the player in contextually appropriate parts of early levels.
having the rank and combo counter on screen is necessary if only because the game wants to show you how exactly the combo system and the rank system works without being explicit. the little leaf showing you how long until the combo stales out is wonderful, being able to know that A is around 10k score and S is around 13k score is useful for how you approach a level and so on. if rank was hidden from me it would be quite annoying to not know precisely what contributes or what the thresholds are.
i agree a casual player might feel overwhelmed by both elements and a compromise like [...] suggest may be ok. allow the player to select at the start of a playthrough whether the combo and rank systems are enabled perhaps? this might encroach on compromising the dev vision of the game too much to appease an audience that it's not intended for though. having the rank visible there though also gives motive to do better for players such as myself, so i like it there.
Fair points all around. I think the UI elements are great once you're used to the game, but they can be really overwhelming to a new player. I don't think it'd be the end of the world if nothing changes, but I think finding a way to ease the player into the ranking system would assuage a lot of the concerns about the game being too fast (also because you can't even get the highest rank on your first run of a level. Not that you really would, but it's impossible without the 2nd lap unlocked)

Autist that previously complained about the speed focus because he can’t help himself trying things he’s not ready for, all I’d want is a way to turn off the rank/combo UI. It gets in the way and the level design being shaped around going fast is already incentive to go fast, I don’t need a meter reminding me I should be doing it all in one fell swoop once I git gud.

I actually think he's onto something. Maybe hide the rank until second laps are unlocked on a stage.
Ummm how about frick you? I deserve the p rank after playing for 40 minutes the levels should juat be a straight hallway so i can get my epic dopamine from running yeeeaaauuuppp golf now that was a good level
>take the B rank on your first playthrough
Getting a B rank at all is pretty embarrassing tbh. If you're not going fast you should be looking for the collectibles, and all toppins + treasure is basically a guaranteed A rank unless you're into ryona
You don't really have to rush this game at all, it's just fun to go fast in it. You can get an A-Rank going at your own pace easily.
Who the hell was saying that this game forces you to rush through everything? I'd honestly say it's the opposite because you need to get toppins for completion
Mach speed is just a basic movement mechanic. You don't even have to be good at it, you just hold right trigger on straightaways and you'll usually be fine.
For anyone who wants to start working on S ranks, check out Bloodsauce Dungeon. I'm one of the people that's b***hed about how fast the game can be and I managed this in a couple of attempts after beating the game. >janitor and treasure are both pre-escape >all three secrets are pre-escape >combos were mostly below 20 until escape >level flow is pretty easy once you know where you're going, 2nd lap is also pretty easy
I will say that I just BARELY made it to S though. My score was fluctuating between S and A seconds before the end and pizzaface spawned right as I went through the door, but it feels really good finally getting an S outside of a boss fight.
Also going to add to this, you REALLY don't need to worry about combos unless you're going for S or P rank. You'll very easily get A rank just by getting the secrets, toppins, and maybe the treasure too.
I feel bad about how much I've been whining because the game is a lot more fun once you realize combos and dash aren't needed 90% of the time.
>the toppings are mushroom, pepperoni, and pineapple
Based taste, and good on the creator for not riding the overdone "le pineapple is a bad topping xD" meme that low iq idiots go for
>the toppings are mushroom, pepperoni, and pineapple
Based taste, and good on the creator for not riding the overdone "le pineapple is a bad topping xD" meme that low iq idiots go for
i used to work at a pizza place (not a chain) and i can understand the meme a little bit. most idiots just pull pineapple out of the juice and throw it on the pie like a jalapeno, but that leaves a shitload of juice/water that gets way too hot in the oven and scalds you later. big brain people drain it thoroughly, drink the juice so their jizz tastes nice, then put a delicious topping of dryer pineapple on. fricking delicious.
>game is about going fast >no actually go speedrun finding a bunch of secrets instead of flowing through the level
it's ok. fun enough to go through once but I have 0 desire to replay for scores.
Just beat the game, final boss was fun but I still think that overall the bosses are kinda easy unless you're trying to S rank them. Ending escape sequence was obvious from playing up through the floors but was still fun, song was kinda weak though compared to other escape themes.
Also it's funny seeing people here enraged that they can't go fast good, even though you don't need to be running all the time in order to beat a stage, whiners act like unless you were holding run for a minute straight you can't break through an iron block. It's the classic Sonic dichotomy all over again, arguing between go fast all the time with no obstacles for speed power fantasy vs slow platforming. Only I figured there'd be less complaints because in Sonic you run into a spike or enemy and lose all your rings, in PT you just get slowed down and maybe your combo fricked up.
In most games, I prefer pressing brake over releasing the gas, actually.
Then again Diddy Kong Racing still trips me up on occasion so maybe I'm just a moron.
I never played anything other than the SAGE demo, but I think there were a lot of modded demo builds with people making custom levels and shit so if that continues with the full game, there should be plenty more.
>Almost P rank Wasteland and get the one cheevo i'm missing for the stage >Run out of time and pizzaface spawns on last room of lap 2 >Frick up once and hit wall causing me to lose my run
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
sub-2k score in john gutter
i had to let peppino get his shit pushed in (as well as generally wasting time during the escape sequence) to get it, though it didn't help that i accidentally grabbed an optional toppin at some point
Pizza Tower releasing made me look back at antonblast and only now I know the game will also come with a girl character, these devs really know how to make good second characters
>using the term "femoid"
I'm tired of gay people pretending to be "fellow rightwing men" because they want to join in the moving of women. You are worse than a woman, you want to be one yourself.
>bu-but that is a tron, I'm ga-
all the same thing, you either is straight or an abomination
Annie's borderline perfect as Anton's "Peach" character, helps that the dev had fun with her and she's just his coworker and they're both too autistic to think of eachother as anything further
I like that Anton gets his own Waluigi with Antonball too
>p ranked john gutter
YEEEEESSSSS
YEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS >doing casual runs of pizzascape to prepare for p rank run >whole lot more shit to keep track of
Uh oh. I can't even imagine Golf or the space stage at this point.
Not much. The stage is incredibly straightforward. I only read up on where the secrets were. A day and a half of on and off runs and I locked it in. Be prepared for the 2nd lap anxiety attack though.
So this is a gamemaker game, right? Has anyone tried taking the assets and injecting them over other GM games so the game can be played on Vita or Switch or Android yet?
the pizza tower trailer is the release trailer, AntonBlast will probably be in the same level of attention when is close to release since the PT dev will 100% help with the marketing
pizza tower has been in development for five years and shilled by vinny and a bunch of other morons, antonblast literally got revealed with that trailer
War is a different story since that's the level gimmick. Besides, there was a level in Wario Land 4 that wouldn't let you into the level unless you immediately jumped the frog switch.
Because it's actually kind of hard to go fast in 4, building speed takes a couple seconds and hitting any wall/many enemies immediately sets you back to zero.
Honestly, I blame the music.
Wario's 'Hurry up' track sounds like hell, the good kind though while It's Pizza Time! sounds like something to keep your blood pumping.
why do homosexuals b***h so much about "speedrunning" just because theres a timer and you run fast.
do you guys realize speedrunning applies to any video game and it involves skipping as much shit as possible?
if you "speedrun" pizza tower, you are skipping the treasure, not doing lap 2, skipping as many toppings as you can, and getting shitty ranks. THATS what speedrunning is.
what are 100% runs anon (outside of being way cooler to route, play, and watch)
The whole point of P rank is because S rank was deliberately set up to always be possible to speed through. It’s a mark of a clean run on top of a complete run.
By the way, it turns out Pizza Tower doesn't actually have real DRM despite being on Steam and using steamworks.
It doesn't actually care whether steamworks loads successfully so deleting steam_api64.dll and Steamworks_x64.dll or just not having Steam installed will allow it to run anyways.
This is a good thing for the possibility of a future TAS because it doesn't require an API emulator, which TASvideos doesn't generally allow
Aha, I thought I noticed something different.
Left is from a video 3 days ago, right is current. Looks like he's adding notes where people are getting confused.
I didn't notice it until I saw a big GRAB note near the first weiner in the saloon stage. Wonder what else there is.
When I came back to this level to p rank it and I hadn't used the knight transformation in like 7 hours, it doesn't tell you the controls again, so I actually did forget you can double jump until I was forced to.
I got stuck there for a few minutes on my first run despite the game explicitly telling you about the double jump and down thrust the first time you go through the level. It's a little unintuitive for a heavy suit of armor to give you more mobility so I'm glad he put that note there.
Used to be as heavy to control as it looked, basically Snowman Wario in all but name.

funny, I was just talking with somebody in the other thread that the game needed more signage

It would definitely be consistent since 2lap isn’t even possible on the first time through a stage unless you blitzed the tutorials.

If you are transformed into something and forget how to control it, pausing the game will show you the controls for that transformation at the bottom of the screen.
The term among powerlevel gays is "toonforce", his exact reaction to any given stimulus (i.e. ramming facefirst into a literal ton of solid steel at mach speed) is determined by how funny and appropriate it seems on a surface level.
I think so, by the dev's own admission all the wrangling was done to get it the frick out the door already, or else it'd turn into Mega Man X Corrupted and he'd fiddle with it forever and never bring it to anything resembling a playable state.
>his final power up was getting so fricking fed up to the point where he's done with the bosses HP being too damn high.
The soundtrack even delivers it too. A guy who just wanted to be done with it all and he's making the end come quicker so he can be rid of his hell.
this is exactly how i feel whenever a game has you fight all the bosses again as part of the final boss and they all have just as much health as they did before
God I wish the bosses didn't have so much HP. I like how they look from a visually, but they take forever to actually beat. bebbino or whatever the fake Peppino is called is kicking my ass and that third phase taking two HP is bullshit
The 4th boss can seem overwhelming, but it's actually easy once you realize that very little actually deals damage to you. Just look for the animations with the red trails behind them. Also how the frick do you do lose to the third phase post-patch? They removed the rubberbanding AND half of the level so you don't have to crouch or get caught in dead ends anymore
I have yet to see how the third phase changed after patches, but a tip: don't just blindly run. The chase sequence punishes you harder for bonking or getting stuck than taking it slower.
>fight fake Peppino for the first time in a couple of days >final phase is so trivialized I got through it without even SEEING him despite fricking up a little twice
weak
Yeah, I'm not really a fan of what he did there. The difficulty was fine. It only really needed one tweak and that's preventing the player from falling on top of fake if they're on the left of the screen by giving a two second grace period or so before he spawns.
I dunno why they're struggling so much with balancing this one thing
I guess he doesnt want to fake the tension by letting the boss rubberband to the player even if that would be the simplest answer
P-rank is S-rank, but you have to get all five toppings, go to all three secrets, do a second lap and have a large unbroken combo for the entire level.
This guy went by a different alias and his shtick was obscure games
then h-games
then whatever the frick it is now
Apperantly there's a lot of drama surrounding the guy. What happened? Did he finally just snap one day?
>play a few minutes of an h-game >add clickbait thumbnail and title >paygate the name of the h-games they feature behind $11 USD monthly (presumably, I'm sure as shit not going to pay to find out)
surprised this homosexual even bothered to put pizza tower in the title with how they operate
and for whatever reason they've REALLY been pushing vore and inflation content the last half year or so, dunno what the frick's up with that (easy way to make safe for youtube clickbait I guess?)
He used to be called Horheristo (that's his old channel name) and was known for two things:
1. Usually being either the first or one of the first on YouTube to complete challenge runs for new games (like no damage runs of all bosses). He had this amazing ability to be able to come out with these completed runs within like a day or two of a game coming out. From what I understand looking at YouTube videos about him, he apparently was a god at Nuclear Throne and was so good that he got banned from the game's online leaderboards because he would constantly make new accounts and fill the top rankings with his alt accounts.
2. Doing scummy paywalling for porn games. I don't know exactly the nature of his paywalling, but this was what apparently got his old account banned. Well, that, and he constantly got into fights with trannies and made video titles for games with jokes trannies didn't like.
I just finished Desert after Wasteland, Farm is just way harder to keep a combo going in unless you've perfectly memorized the level. The other P Ranks at least have room for error
Does P-rank really require the combo to go unbroken the entire level or just above a certain number and a second lap? I don't really trust the vague description.
I guess what I'm getting at is this: could you just camp a spawner to rack a combo up?
My favorite pizzasona is the bluehaired girl. If she shows up it means my P-rank run is about to succeed.
I can't post her because the wiki doesn't have all their sprites for some reason.
I haven't P ranked every level yet so my opinion will probably change on these depending on how annoying or fun they end up being.
Also glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like the robot level.
Found a way to make it less egregious the eyes, switch to windowed mode and run at 1080p or less, never go full 2k or 4k. Some levels are cancer regardless but it helps

Game looks boring, but I think its unfair to hate on the art style. You don't have to like it, but to call it bad is disingenuous. Reminds me of people saying Hot Rod Creeps has ugly art, but the art was a specific style that was supposed to look ugly like it does. Ugly =/= bad.
>it looks bad because... it's not full HD or perfectly consistent pixel art
lol
lmao even
holy frick it's snick
Snicks fick and sick
I know its you under that bedsheet, Snick
I only tried the game because of how it looks
Sadly I dont like how it plays
I wish idiots would stop giving c**ts like you easy bait fodder
it's not "it looks so bad on purpose"
it just actually looks good, you are a moron if you think art is bad just because it was made in ms paint
like actual low iq default opinions
get some fricking taste beyond photorealism
>this game looks like mspaint
>this game looks like flash
>this game looks like brown n bloom
>this game looks like unity
>this game looks like a ps3 game
>this game looks like chink shit
>this game looks like western shit
This game looks good for an mspaint game and you're a black baby.
im just happy to see an american game that doesnt have a bunch of homosexuals, or diversity checklist throwaway characters, or calartsyle or fake anime rwby style, or furry trash
you're looking in the entirely wrong area of western game development for that and everything you've described isn't even that common in AAA where it's most prevalent
>diversity checklist throwaway characters
Peppino is clearly sicillian, might as well be a moolie
He's clearly a fat balding italian stereotype with an unfortunate name

this shouldn't have made me giggle
The noise isnt real guys
Give me one reason why the scrapped level themes couldn't be added into one big noise campaign that uses his pogo moveset
Eh Uh FRICK YOU
maybe a big level or two smaller levels, but an entire campaign? I'd rather get a pepperman campaign
I think pepperman is a bit derivative of wario, noise has a more fun and intresting moveset and he already basically has a story made for him. it'd be pretty easy.
Theres so many little things in this old footage that i prefer over the current game
Not just the slightly different stage layout of level 1 but things like the toppins being in pizza boxes and other visual quirks
Yeah I liked the pizza box thing too, but I understand why it was changed. in the frantic gameplay of pizza tower its kind of hard to see unless you already know where it is. the crates are better overall for accessability.
I get the feeling a lot of the smaller stuff was changed for easy readability at a glance.
>toppins in crates rather than flat pizza boxes
>all transformations cured by pizza priests now instead of having their own cures
i prefer the priests to the individual cures honestly, they are funny and having religion be a consistant positive theme is a nice change for once
I really feel like people overestimate the amount of stories where religion is portrayed negatively.
its probably alot less then i think but most of the time i see it it is portrayed negatively or parts where it is in are the worst parts of that media (see: the simpsons)
the whole "male priests diddle kids" stigma doesn't help, even worse is how often it's true
Not as much as kids being diddled by gays, but I don't see "gays le bad" all over the place.
I like the priests because it characterizes Peppino as a good catholic since he is Italian.
In Pizzascare Peppino is even exorcising ghosts with the help of the priests.
>t. the doise
Do you think Peppino used to look like Gustavo at some point in the past, or did he always look like the Wario to Gustavo's Mario?
It's pretty astonishing seeing all the crabs come out of the woodwork to shit on this game when I've been following it since its inception and people had nothing but good things to say about it.
It doesn't look like it's for me, and I have some gripes about the visual clarity and readability of the game, but I can tell who the game is for and I think those people are probably having a good time. Seems to be doing well enough on steam, at any rate.
Yeah, I thought this game was pretty popular and anticipated around here for a while. Didn't the dev used to post in AGDG early on?
Why isn't there any good Noisette lewds by now?
pick up a pencil and do it yourself
explain to me how exactly you would lewd her
NTR, after Peppino, defeats Noise.
He consummates her in front of him while he cries because he lost not only the battle, but his girl.
>NTR
come on and not her raping noise after she drags him away? you can do better.
why would she rape Noise? He lost, he doesn't deserve sex.
Because she cucks him.
>He lost, he doesn't deserve sex.
to cheer him up 🙂
Anon Noise hates his wife
Noisette says she wants to be a boss battle too and challenges Peppino, cue instant loss.
Instant loss for Peppino

Where the FRICK is the treasure in Wasteyard? I can't find it for the life of me. I remember getting it in the eggplant build but I don't remember where I found it in the level
In a hidden nook in the room with the John pillar, look for the same rocks in the wall that mark the hidden path to the janitor in the same level
What the frick? I noticed the rocks but they didn't let me through earlier. What the frick. Thank you anon
Maybe you tried it from the left side, the opening is only on the right
This level is really fricking hard to p rank
probably lack of familiarity with gustavo, but there's also some really long gaps between enemies/munchies
Kino
This is a tiny nitpick but it would be nice if secrets had placeholder spots that suggested where they are in the level based on their order. Like star coins in Mario games, or the set order of toppins in this game.
>mfw accidentally ran through the lap 2 portal on WAR
>the timer pickups don't respawn
This game is so close to being good but he fricked it up by focusing on speed running
It goes from fun to stressful and annoying fumbling over the terrain and controls. Who gave him this advice and feedback?
it is a game for speedrunner, thats the audience
I think it would have been smarter to try and capture a wider audience this time but hey its not my game
That’s dumb design. You NEVER design a game to an autistic crowd. They will come to your game.
you haven't played the game for longer then 10 minutes
I beat pepperman. What now?
You think having to hold the Mach speed button and bouncing off walls and fumbling all over the place is fun? It’s sad too because the normal controls are good but you have to Mach speed to break through shit, tumble into blocks and get the big jump
go to the next floor, its called getting a handle on your controls. the more you play, the more it'll feel natural.
Frick off. If I want to play a racing game I’ll play a racing game
He fricked it up. Deal with it
I don't understand this sentiment. You're not timed at all and the only benefit of going fast is to get a good combo which doesn't gatekeep you from anything in the level. Sure you have to hold R sometimes to get through certain terrain but it's fun and trivially easy, just like in Wario Land.
I'm convinced that people like you are actually just panicking about combos and trying to sightread a level going for high tier strategies they haven't even conceived of yet. Just play the fricking game and take the B rank on your first playthrough.
Not going fast at all times feels bad and like you are not playing correctly, its that simple.
>I don't understand this sentiment. You're not timed at all and the only benefit of going fast is to get a good combo which doesn't gatekeep you from anything in the level.
it makes some amount of sense if you consider the level design. look at john gutter, the very first level. it's fairly obstacleless, right? it doesn't have much of interest in it if you're going slow. playing slow kind of reveals that the game wants you to go fast, and it's demonstrative in the very first level. later levels are much more involved with enemies and geometry, but that first level sets a not-so-silent expectation in the player's mind of how the game wants you to play. resulting in this
feeling.
You unlock a second lap in a level after beating the level for the first time.
Whoops. I guess that shows how long it took me to revisit a level.
Not that you really would, but it's impossible without the 2nd lap unlocked)
some of those lines i definitely didn't come across. the pizza ladies have a mix of flavor lines and useful lines and after i ran into too many flavor lines i stopped caring about reading their dialogue to my detriment it appears. hubtips7 in particular is hugely useful because it's impossible to go into a belly slam from a jump when mach 3 (you get dive instead), had no idea you could go into something equivalent with one extra button press. this is all information that could be more thoughtfully shown to the player in contextually appropriate parts of early levels.
having the rank and combo counter on screen is necessary if only because the game wants to show you how exactly the combo system and the rank system works without being explicit. the little leaf showing you how long until the combo stales out is wonderful, being able to know that A is around 10k score and S is around 13k score is useful for how you approach a level and so on. if rank was hidden from me it would be quite annoying to not know precisely what contributes or what the thresholds are.
i agree a casual player might feel overwhelmed by both elements and a compromise like
suggest may be ok. allow the player to select at the start of a playthrough whether the combo and rank systems are enabled perhaps? this might encroach on compromising the dev vision of the game too much to appease an audience that it's not intended for though. having the rank visible there though also gives motive to do better for players such as myself, so i like it there.
Autist that previously complained about the speed focus because he can’t help himself trying things he’s not ready for, all I’d want is a way to turn off the rank/combo UI. It gets in the way and the level design being shaped around going fast is already incentive to go fast, I don’t need a meter reminding me I should be doing it all in one fell swoop once I git gud.
unironically suggest this on the steam forum or dm the dev on discord and see what he says. i think it's a reasonable request.
Well, both of those sound like an embarrassment waiting to happen, but what the hell, it’s worth a shot. I’ll make a steam thread if nobody else does by the time I get off work tomorrow.
What did he say
This only shows up if you have a pirated copy. It showed my steam username there.
I just got to that level and it’s blank on mine too. Maybe I need to update the game or something
You need to finish the level once to show up.
You need to wait on the main menu for 40 seconds before turning the lights, after that you should get the complete message as an easter egg
Black person.
he said Black person.
You don't really have to rush this game at all, it's just fun to go fast in it. You can get an A-Rank going at your own pace easily.
Who the hell was saying that this game forces you to rush through everything? I'd honestly say it's the opposite because you need to get toppins for completion
You need to mach speed to get anywhere in this game
Mach speed is just a basic movement mechanic. You don't even have to be good at it, you just hold right trigger on straightaways and you'll usually be fine.
Was this game made in game maker?
Game Maker Studio from the looks of it.
Is there any game with a protagonist that is more fed up in the final fight than this one?
For anyone who wants to start working on S ranks, check out Bloodsauce Dungeon. I'm one of the people that's b***hed about how fast the game can be and I managed this in a couple of attempts after beating the game.
>janitor and treasure are both pre-escape
>all three secrets are pre-escape
>combos were mostly below 20 until escape
>level flow is pretty easy once you know where you're going, 2nd lap is also pretty easy
Based taste, and good on the creator for not riding the overdone "le pineapple is a bad topping xD" meme that low iq idiots go for
Pineapple is surprisingly good on pizza and I wish I'd tried it sooner.
i used to work at a pizza place (not a chain) and i can understand the meme a little bit. most idiots just pull pineapple out of the juice and throw it on the pie like a jalapeno, but that leaves a shitload of juice/water that gets way too hot in the oven and scalds you later. big brain people drain it thoroughly, drink the juice so their jizz tastes nice, then put a delicious topping of dryer pineapple on. fricking delicious.
protip
if you make it to the end with an unbroken combo, taunting by the door will net you points as long as it doesn't end
>game is about going fast
>no actually go speedrun finding a bunch of secrets instead of flowing through the level
it's ok. fun enough to go through once but I have 0 desire to replay for scores.
Only I figured there'd be less complaints because in Sonic you run into a spike or enemy and lose all your rings, in PT you just get slowed down and maybe your combo fricked up.
idiots think their shit reaction time and inability to let off the run button means the game is bad.
good mario kart players let off the gas sometimes.
In most games, I prefer pressing brake over releasing the gas, actually.
Then again Diddy Kong Racing still trips me up on occasion so maybe I'm just a moron.
I wouldn't mind a hard mode with extended boss fights.
The second phase of the last boss is kino but also ends way too fricking fast.
I never played anything other than the SAGE demo, but I think there were a lot of modded demo builds with people making custom levels and shit so if that continues with the full game, there should be plenty more.
It's built in Game Maker Studio. I don't see why not, the same decompiler you can use for Undertale can be used here.
>Almost P rank Wasteland and get the one cheevo i'm missing for the stage
>Run out of time and pizzaface spawns on last room of lap 2
>Frick up once and hit wall causing me to lose my run
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
YOU WANT YOU DON'T WANT
YOU WANT YOU DON'T WANT
AT ALL
>AT ALL
are third laps possible?
Just went and checked, no because the portal is gone after you go in it once.
they were in the eggplant builds but were removed afterwards, potentially because it would have been too tedious.
>
have a nice day YOU WOODEN c**t
Only race i lost was the one with the weiner involved, tight turns and a well timed jump
i fricking did it
how is this possible
sub-2k score in john gutter
i had to let peppino get his shit pushed in (as well as generally wasting time during the escape sequence) to get it, though it didn't help that i accidentally grabbed an optional toppin at some point
boss fights
there a MEGA for the soundtrack yet? a least a gamerip
Finished the gaem. Good gaem
Will buy it for real when it cost less than half of what they are charging on Steam in my country.
Hope they add more shit later on (other than the coop and the noise)
does anyone have all the Peppino's Final Judgements? I've seen one where it calls you too fast and I got Psycho on my first playthrough
https://pizzatower.fandom.com/wiki/Game_Progression
It's on the wiki.
Pizza Tower releasing made me look back at antonblast and only now I know the game will also come with a girl character, these devs really know how to make good second characters
imagine letting femoids in your game beyond a "overbearing gf" joke
>using the term "femoid"
I'm tired of gay people pretending to be "fellow rightwing men" because they want to join in the moving of women. You are worse than a woman, you want to be one yourself.
>bu-but that is a tron, I'm ga-
all the same thing, you either is straight or an abomination
I think Annie is cute I was just shitposting
Annie's borderline perfect as Anton's "Peach" character, helps that the dev had fun with her and she's just his coworker and they're both too autistic to think of eachother as anything further
I like that Anton gets his own Waluigi with Antonball too
i really wish the crumbling tower of pizza had a lap 2 that took you through all the tower's hubs again
>they put golf in the last run but not the barrel power up
Which was your favorite boss? Mine's Pepperman
fake peppino
pepperman > noise >>> pizzaface (second phase) > vigilante > pizzaface (first phase) >>>>>> fake peppino
Noise>Pepperman>Fake Peppino>Vigilante
this game looks pretty fun, im a store owner and dont have much time to game. Is this worth it?
my name is sneed by the way, i own a seed and feed
It’s a pick up and play kind of game so it’s probably perfect if you’re busy and don’t have much time to invest
>p ranked john gutter
YEEEEESSSSS
YEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS
>doing casual runs of pizzascape to prepare for p rank run
>whole lot more shit to keep track of
Uh oh. I can't even imagine Golf or the space stage at this point.
Golf resets the combo meter whenever you hit the ball and it's paused when you're aiming your shot, it isn't that bad.
how long did the john gutter p rank take in terms of planning and practice?
Not much. The stage is incredibly straightforward. I only read up on where the secrets were. A day and a half of on and off runs and I locked it in. Be prepared for the 2nd lap anxiety attack though.
Have you gotten the 99 combo achievement yet? I did with one second to spare, shit is whack.
So this is a gamemaker game, right? Has anyone tried taking the assets and injecting them over other GM games so the game can be played on Vita or Switch or Android yet?
what made the difference?
theres god in pizza tower
For starters, Pizza Tower is actually out.
the pizza tower trailer is the release trailer, AntonBlast will probably be in the same level of attention when is close to release since the PT dev will 100% help with the marketing
pizza tower has been in development for five years and shilled by vinny and a bunch of other morons, antonblast literally got revealed with that trailer
Antonball Deluxe was technically a thing but had very little notoriety.
Probably because playing arkanoid as intellivision wario doesn't sound very fun.
Yeah, I wouldn't even count it for that reason. AntonBlast is by all means a new product.
>bro just explore at your own pace
Explore better gayola
War is a different story since that's the level gimmick. Besides, there was a level in Wario Land 4 that wouldn't let you into the level unless you immediately jumped the frog switch.
>just explore at your own p-
It's even worse on S.hard in WL4. There's at least four levels that pull this bullshit.
Funny how the "hurry up" sections of Warioland had me in despair while Pizza Tower had me high on crank
Because it's actually kind of hard to go fast in 4, building speed takes a couple seconds and hitting any wall/many enemies immediately sets you back to zero.
Honestly, I blame the music.
Wario's 'Hurry up' track sounds like hell, the good kind though while It's Pizza Time! sounds like something to keep your blood pumping.
damn I am shit at this game but it's still fun as frick
why do homosexuals b***h so much about "speedrunning" just because theres a timer and you run fast.
do you guys realize speedrunning applies to any video game and it involves skipping as much shit as possible?
if you "speedrun" pizza tower, you are skipping the treasure, not doing lap 2, skipping as many toppings as you can, and getting shitty ranks. THATS what speedrunning is.
I am not into the troony autismfest that is speedrunning but I am pretty sure there are a lot of different ways you approach it
that would be any% speedrun though.
Best speedruns are 100%
what are 100% runs anon (outside of being way cooler to route, play, and watch)
The whole point of P rank is because S rank was deliberately set up to always be possible to speed through. It’s a mark of a clean run on top of a complete run.
sekrit
IT'S HIM
By the way, it turns out Pizza Tower doesn't actually have real DRM despite being on Steam and using steamworks.
It doesn't actually care whether steamworks loads successfully so deleting steam_api64.dll and Steamworks_x64.dll or just not having Steam installed will allow it to run anyways.
This is a good thing for the possibility of a future TAS because it doesn't require an API emulator, which TASvideos doesn't generally allow
>miss topping
>replay level
>miss same topping
At least this game’s treasures are way less hidden than Wario Land 4’s CDs. Some of those were really difficult to figure out
Aha, I thought I noticed something different.
>When I came back to this level to p rank it and I hadn't used the knight transformation in like 7 hours, it doesn't tell you the controls again, so I actually did forget you can double jump until I was forced to.
If you are transformed into something and forget how to control it, pausing the game will show you the controls for that transformation at the bottom of the screen.
He eats his pizza with plenty of veggies on them.
I did see Mc Pig checking in on people streaming the game on Twitch, he even gifted a game code to someone who was playing the demo
>great music
>sick artstyle
>simple and fun
great, now all that's missing is...
>Ganker hates it
Bingo!!! Game of the year it is!!!
How is Peppino so powerful?
Italians are inherently extremely powerful.
hot take: Gustavo is a gnome, not an Italian.
Surely he's an honorary Italian by the end of the game.
A gnome with an Italian name. An Italian gnome, if you will. Who runs a pizza joint because of course.
Gnomo*
the will to live despite everything
anger, mostly
The term among powerlevel gays is "toonforce", his exact reaction to any given stimulus (i.e. ramming facefirst into a literal ton of solid steel at mach speed) is determined by how funny and appropriate it seems on a surface level.
Sicilian rage and inexplicable superpowers that he has no real interest in using for any purpose except speedrunning
so far I've p-ranked the first 2 floors and half of the third, I'm probably going slower than average but it's fun figuring it out yourself
Man this game has a ridiculous amount of unused content.
Was the reigning in of features really worth it in the end?
I think so, by the dev's own admission all the wrangling was done to get it the frick out the door already, or else it'd turn into Mega Man X Corrupted and he'd fiddle with it forever and never bring it to anything resembling a playable state.
it would not have been released if he didn't cut down
soundtrack rip please
YEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
>his final power up was getting so fricking fed up to the point where he's done with the bosses HP being too damn high.
The soundtrack even delivers it too. A guy who just wanted to be done with it all and he's making the end come quicker so he can be rid of his hell.
this is exactly how i feel whenever a game has you fight all the bosses again as part of the final boss and they all have just as much health as they did before
That scream he does is literally taken from Tom and Jerry, isn't it? It sounds the exact same.
No that one is more a sudden AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA and YAAAAAUUUWWWW sometimes with a OOOH HO HOHOHOHO AAAAH
so before i commit to all P ranks or even S ranks
is there a reward?
achievements and two shirt colors for S ranking and P ranking all levels
The chase sequence punishes you harder for bonking or getting stuck than taking it slower.
heh, dood the cat or whatever is smokin a pipe of weed lol
>fight fake Peppino for the first time in a couple of days
>final phase is so trivialized I got through it without even SEEING him despite fricking up a little twice
I guess he doesnt want to fake the tension by letting the boss rubberband to the player even if that would be the simplest answer
>see how people on YouTube are doing
>notice videos of people getting P Rank scores
What the frick, I though S Rank was the highest?
P-rank is S-rank, but you have to get all five toppings, go to all three secrets, do a second lap and have a large unbroken combo for the entire level.
Nope, P is the highest.
Technically S is still the highest, P rank is just getting S rank while maintaining a full combo through the whole level.
You're only told about P rank from one random pizza girl like half of this game's mechanics
Frick you now its gonna recomend me fat art
well? whats the explanation?
I watched their All P ranked bosses vid and now I keep getting fat fetish and vore games in my recommendations
>thumbnail
>the BoF Ryu avatar
Nah, frick off sellout.
This guy went by a different alias and his shtick was obscure games
then h-games
then whatever the frick it is now
Apperantly there's a lot of drama surrounding the guy. What happened? Did he finally just snap one day?
>play a few minutes of an h-game
>add clickbait thumbnail and title
>paygate the name of the h-games they feature behind $11 USD monthly (presumably, I'm sure as shit not going to pay to find out)
surprised this homosexual even bothered to put pizza tower in the title with how they operate
and for whatever reason they've REALLY been pushing vore and inflation content the last half year or so, dunno what the frick's up with that (easy way to make safe for youtube clickbait I guess?)
Well, that, and he constantly got into fights with trannies and made video titles for games with jokes trannies didn't like.
why'd you censor the other names
not important to the image
let me phrase it better
why did you take the extra time to censor the other names despite it having no effect on the joke
not important to the joke
this did not answer the question anon
why do you care so much about their names?
fyi I stopped replying and now someone else is continuing the conversation for some reason, sorry if that's confusing
To hide his username
Farm has to be the worst level to P rank holy shit
Don't say that I just started afking in front of it after P ranking Wasteyard
I just finished Desert after Wasteland, Farm is just way harder to keep a combo going in unless you've perfectly memorized the level. The other P Ranks at least have room for error
I wanna say bloodsauce took me way longer
Are we getting youtube essays yet?
I want to hear people babbling about it, it's the closest I have to a live conversation with another person.
>love finales where the protagonist just gets so pissed off he starts breaking the established rules and takes the gloves off
based game
Does P-rank really require the combo to go unbroken the entire level or just above a certain number and a second lap? I don't really trust the vague description.
I guess what I'm getting at is this: could you just camp a spawner to rack a combo up?
Respawing enemies don't give you combo.
Huh. Did not know. What about the ones Santa throws out on the fridge level?
I'm fairly certain respawning enemies do refill your combo meter, they just don't add to the combo so you can't farm infinite score.
I'm gonna be real bros, P-rank is beyond my skill level
S-rank is the best I can manage
Just super taunt whenever you're about to drop the combo, simple as
That only works if there's something nearby to kill
If you frick up your rolls in certain places you can just get fricked, combo is dead gg
My favorite pizzasona is the bluehaired girl. If she shows up it means my P-rank run is about to succeed.
I can't post her because the wiki doesn't have all their sprites for some reason.

rank em
Last world was so close to being the absolute best if not for that ghost infested shithole which manages to make the fork knights even more annoying
I haven't P ranked every level yet so my opinion will probably change on these depending on how annoying or fun they end up being.
Also glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like the robot level.
war is overrated
golf is underrated
t. casual
i'm a simple man
>factory consistently at the bottom
i haven't replayed it yet redpill me on why it sucks ass
Not either of them, but frick boost pads on conveyor belts
conveyor belts suck Black person ass
HOLY SHIT PEPPINO IS REAL?!
The mc is on the verge of fricking dying
He has every negative emotion at the same time
You might even say he's about to spill his spaghetti.
Found a way to make it less egregious the eyes, switch to windowed mode and run at 1080p or less, never go full 2k or 4k. Some levels are cancer regardless but it helps
