M&T is good, but their UI is dogshit, everything is hidden in tooltips and lots of text
I wish they could do some real custom shit like TNO does in hoi4
EU4 imo is better than EU3 but it does lack some things that were nice like population and CoT, all of that got brought back by M&T so maybe check that out
M&T had a good vision but it doesnt implement well in EU4
Game is already a clusterfrick of buttons to push to get measly bonuses
How do we fix it?
We add a frickton more buttons for you to press!
They're moronic.
Achtually M&T has probably less button pressing than the vanilla experience since a lot of vanilla "features" aka press button to get magical modifier are disabled
damn, now I want to do campaign exterminating all the germs and saving europe. which country do you bros recommend? france? bongs? or I go with the austrians and go full meme saying that austrians aren't germs, that would be funny lmao
Sorry but I dont enjoy playing Map Painting Games that much.
Eventually I reach a point in the game where the only thing left to do is paint the town red until the Victory Conditions kick in
God this. Their forums are full of "tall"gays that think blitzing their culture group and then sitting on their ass doing nothing but pressing the develop button for the rest of the game is a playstyle. Devs of course are eager to pander to them because having fanatic players that have fun by not actually playing the game must be a dream come true for them.
Because it isn't? The popular strategies are to tech rush and squeeze money out of your starting planets to go way over fleet capacity and become untouchable within the first 20 years
At this point the only reason to get their games are waiting for the inevitable mods that add more depth than a puddle.
Now that it's over people forget HoI4 went without fricking FUEL for years. I didn't even touch the herpes some call Victoria 3
Tried several times, I get filtered by the UI and everything else within the first 10 minutes. Besides I'm not spending a million dollars on DLC to get a full game.
Crusader kings 2 was my favourite game for like 10 years, constant new updates, ridiculously difficult UI and cryptic mechanics. I didn’t even find out about standing armies until after 5 years. Events were wacky and the start dates were varied, great implementation of empire and republic mechanics and the last religion update made it even crazier. CK3 looks really nice but it’s just so… boring. No weird events, too much text for shitty boring stories, only feudal states playable (empires are just a king with federated kings), no unique state mechanics after almost 4 years… it’s just bland and sucks and represents everything wrong with where paradox is going. Vicky 3 is the same shit. Each of those games if you play one state or tribe or whatever you use all the mechanics and there’s literally no reason to replay as anyone else.
As long as it's a video game and things like rebellion and extracting resources are simulated with numbers people will find a way to optimize it. They'll never get around this unless they just totally railroad you in that you can or can't do, like they've been trying to do in their latest games and updates

I never moved past EU3, should I pick up 4? Is it worth it for mods or something?

Maybe M&T was what EU4 needed from the start. Alright then, thanks anon I'll get to it
VGHH
>France exists
>Russia exists
Weak Lebensraum. Not VGH enough.

Paradox games lose their charm when you realize playing tall is incredibly shallow

If this is the case why is tall so shit in stellaris?
Because it isn't? The popular strategies are to tech rush and squeeze money out of your starting planets to go way over fleet capacity and become untouchable within the first 20 years
Victory conditions?
>he doesn't know
Espiocracy is out last hope
I do know.
I really hope Grey Eminence makes it.
Paradox only produces casual garbage and I've stopped buying their games. I'd welcome another company who started producing actually good GSGs.
At this point the only reason to get their games are waiting for the inevitable mods that add more depth than a puddle.

Even modded Stellaris has stopped doing it for me.
I'm too smoothbrained for it
Nobody can be too smoothbrained for EU4 and games that came after. You just need to play more than five mins.
I do
Tried several times, I get filtered by the UI and everything else within the first 10 minutes. Besides I'm not spending a million dollars on DLC to get a full game.
Creamapi.
Historical grand strategy games are boring as shit I've found. Recoloring the map to "fix history" is the domain of the mentally ill.
Someone on here recommended Shadows of the Forbidden Gods to me and it's a ton of fun.
Play as the Byzantines.

The biggest flaw of CK2 or CK3 is that they are too easy, especially CK3
The thing I hate most about grand strategy games is it's ALWAYS better to have more land, any land.
That's true in real life too moron. What kind of criticism is this
he means conquering more land anon, obviuosly more land is good irl, but getting a gorillion km of land every war? it won't end well

>mogs every single other total conversion mod
How does Anbennar do it?
Is there M&T for EU3?
It's Death & Taxes for EU3
