Starly learns wing attack
>BEFORE
>t. I'm a zoomer who never played the games
>before diamond and pearl
moronic homosexual never type a post again
Honestly Starly felt more like my starter than my actual starter, basically starting with Quick Attack and Wing Attack is pure cheese.
Starly is really cool, yeah.
Chikorita learns razor leaf at level 8
Yes, the way Pokemon games are meant to be designed.
>NOOOOOO WHY ISN’T IT LIKE MY HECKIN UNOVA GAMES WHERE I GET DARUMAKA WITH A 120BP STAB AT LV30???
If you love Unova so much why don't you get married to it on Discord?
send me the link
Is it really so much to ask for shit to have 60 BP moves in the 20s and 30s?
Sometimes being shitty during the mid game due to not having any mid-power stab is part of the balance. The games NEED you to be using sub optimal mons SOMETIMES otherwise how will the game challenge you? Working around that stuff is part of the fun
>bringing up Unova out of nowhere
Rent free.
Free rent, not even trying anymore
Brain damage detected
>play a pokemon game before Diamond and Pearl
>everyone deals shit damage because no physical special split
Nice non-existing game, lilliehomosexual.
Now have a nice day.
>Play diamond/pearl after playing gen 1-3
>Fall asleep at the first battle because of the painfully slow ass battle system
Painfully true
>play a Pokémon game after Diamond and Pearl
>every Pokémon has earthquake, close combat and knock off by level 15
Gens 1, 2 and 3 are the best gens. Pokémon has gone downhill since then.
>Play gen 3
>Lose to level 19 Makuhita in second gym
Frick you Brawly
Man, Thick Fat Makuhita that early on is some shit if you don't get Sableye
If I'm right, you could get ralts and beat him with no problems
Beautifly and Dustox too
What game are you talking about? Are you only using first route mons?
You zoomers don't know the struggle of leveling up a Pidgey until realizing it didn't learn a flying move until its level 30s
Pidgey is a shitmon, Spearow is better.
you can get Fly before it reaches level 28. Fly has infinite usage too by virtue of being an HM. this complaint is moronic
2 turn moves suck ass
the AI in gen 1 isn't smart enough to make use of switches
I'll be always be thankful Gust became a Flying move. Pidgey fricking sucked back in Gen 1.
>pre-split
>no good moves
>tutors are expensive
>TMs are limited
THIS is how Pokemon was meant to be played?
Yes, the games used to make you work with lower BP moves for most of the game so that you couldn't take out every enemy in 1-2 hits, giving them a chance to actually do something to you. That's literally how the games were originally intended to be balanced, new games giving you 80 BP stab by level 20 is fricking ridiculous.
>Back when the game didn't just hand you everything on a silver platter
Yes
>it was shit on purpose
K
>play any gen
>dedicated special attackers keep learning random physical moves at mid to high levels for no understandable reason
>play pokemon red
>get first elemental attack
HOLY SHIT THATS AMAZING OMGGGG CHARMANDER USE FIRE!!!
HAHA BURN THAT FRICKER
ITT: people complaining about things that either aren't true or non issues and they need to git gud
This actually made the games more satisfying to play and it's a shame it isn't still balanced similarly.
>play a pokemon game before Ruby and Sapphire
>no move reminder
This really killed me in crystal. I'm so used to being able to forget moves I might want later in place of HMs, only to be able to add it back later, likely after I find the move forgetter. Newer games have really spoiled me.
Gen 3's gameplay is awful and I'm tired of pretending it isn't.
>horrible grinding
>worse level curve than gen 2 but everyone whines about gen 2
>horrible movesets, at least gen 2 offers the elemental punches
>shitmons everywhere
>Actually difficult level curve (so is gen 2's)
>movesets aren't worse you just don't get as many unga bunga offensive options. You actually get plenty of tools you can use to over come the battles in less direct ways
>Unironically using the term shitmon when every pokemon is more than good enough to be used in game
Guy look how contrarian I am! Guys look!
You're the contrarian moron, it's just that the majority of this board are contrarians
Haha yeah I also like to go online and tell lies
>get to Kanto
>heracross still doesn’t have any fighting or bug moves
At least heracross eventually learns a bug type move in gen 2, unlike pinsir
in RBY TMs are meant to supplement the movesets of your team, they're distributed at a decent rate and are usually pretty helpful
>but they're consumable
so? just choose wisely
>but what if I wanna save it for later
do you have a pokemon in mind for that? if so, sure, but denying a move until later is a calculated risk.
>what about GSC or RSE
haven't played recently but I doubt gen 3 does that as much
Yeah, gen 4 really ruined the series.
