I'm doing it already,is one of my comfort zones games so I clear the arcade mode pretty often.
I think Sakura's Stage is my favorite because the theme is fricking amazing,I like the PS1 OST much more in general
Strange, I am quite torn on which soundtrack I like better but Sakura theme is where I prefer the arcade version by far. I like the slower intro. Home version sounds like a dance remix.

>play Zero 2 Alpha (Gold on Ps1 and Saturn)
This. Cammy as an unlockable AND an electrifying OST.
Preferring the arranged soundtrack is contrarian though
It's double scanned to 640x448.
The Saturn version of Zero 2 Alpha/Gold is very good and has almost all arcade frames present during matches. The biggest difference is the native resolution is 320x240 instead of 384x224.
This can result in the characters getting slightly cut off as they reach the edge of the stage because the arcade play field is maintained.
>double scanned to 640x448
Ew. Horrible >Saturn version of Zero 2 Alpha/Gold is very good and has almost all arcade frames present during matches
It's the same as regular A2 in this regard. Only Zangief backward walking animation is missing and voice quality is worse. Both are restored in mirror matches >native resolution is 320x240
It's 352x240 >arcade play field is maintained
There is setting for that in the options, it's off by default
It's the same ost that was in the home versions of regular alpha 2. And gold is less balanced. Really the only good thing about it is Cammy but the cons outweigh this pro.
Rose is actually balanced in that game.
Chun-li and Rolento CC's are no longer broken.
Custom Combos are no longer strictly better than supers.
Alpha counters no longer do silly damage and require 1.5 meters instead of one.
There are several extra SF2 versions of characters that remain unexplored as possibly viable to add variety to the game.
The "Gold is less balanced/worse" is just a meme that has been parroted far too long by people who never even played the game more than a few minutes. Especially since they don't even use the proper title for the game: Zero 2 Alpha.
interesting. seems similiar to what players do in a3. in a3 you can either just counter vc aswell if you arent doing anything or you can whiff cancel the startup of any normal thats currently sticking out during the activation as long as you can react on reaction its pretty legit. been a staple of a3 for decades, surprised I have seen it for a2 just now. but well, I am not really an alpha 2 player maybe its been known for a long ass time.
Does the PS2 version output the same resolution as the CPS2 version or did they apply bullshit 480i frickery? I hate when they do that because the PS2 can do CPS2 resolution natively, something even the Saturn couldn't do. That being said I can usually live with the monitor adjustments a Saturn CPS2 port requires. Looks like that version of A2 Gold or Dash or whatever it's called is decent, right?

The PS2 version is only 480i by default, but you can hex edit the iso to display at 240p. You can do this hex edit with several fighting games / shmups (Garou, vampire Collection, Last Blade, to name a few.) and they look way better on crt.

For me it's Ken stage
No.
You play Zero 2 Alpha.
Play SNES edition

*AST
how could you ever replace godlike CPS2 kickdrums and organs with these abominations
too contrarian

This is awful. I now remember why regular A2 is better.
Git gud and learn to manage meter.
Git gud and learn to play regular A2 against real people.
Rather play the updated game the original creators put out that fixes the worst things from the first revision and also adds new content.
why is the ps1 version cropped?
>the best version of Alpha 2 is still trapped on the PS2
The best version is always the CPS2 board.
The version that anon is referring to is an undumped CPS2 rom stuck on the PS2 alpha anthology. Street Fighter Zero 2 Dash.
>I must shill my shader
Schizo
Alpha is trash.
Yep, play Alpha 2 instead.
I should
Was the ISMs good or schizo moveset jank?
The idea is good on paper, I just prefer the a2 system.
l o o k i n ' g o o d
Already did, to death, on my Saturn back in the day. Pretty much the perfect SF and the perfect 1v1 fighting game.
So you have never been on the receiving end of a Valle CC.

like always the game is all fun and dandy until you play it against someone who knows what he is doing. then you can see all its flaws.

I actually played through Alpha 1 on GBC, Alpha 2 on SNES and Alpha 3 on GBA
I played 2 in an arcade at the mall. It was alright. I prefer 3.
