>play an emulated fighting game online on Linux
>press a key to chat to the other player
>entire system crashes and have to hard reset with the power button
Linux is a fricking joke of an operating system
I can't believe the morons on this board convinced me to get a fricking Steam Deck instead of a real pc
Nothing Ever Happens Shirt $21.68 |
what game?
3rd strike on fightcade
go frick yourself
>Linux
>Anime
Sounds like you should go report a bug to the Fightcade devs instead of complaining here.
The operating system itself is not responsible for the creation of Fightcade's Linux build. If it's broken, the Linux kernel developers are not responsible to fixing it. Neither are Linux gamers on Ganker.
>bro it totally doesn't happen
this type of shit would NEVER happen on windows
Linux "devs" are a bunch of fricking trannies and just ignore any issues that happen
>program crashes
>it's not the program's developers fault, it's the operating system
You're a complete fricking mongoloid
this shit didn't happen literally days ago and NEVER happens on windows
the point you're missing is windows is used more than 3 people in the fricking world and shit doesn't just randomly break and never get fixed like has happened multiple times on Linux for me
also some shit just doesn't work at all and never will and you have to deal with so much more moronation to get normal things working
it's so fricking stupid
I went into their troony discord and did tell them about it you fricking moron, they just ignore it and never fix anything
It doesn't break because of linux, it breaks because fightcade devs are moronic.
>I went into their troony discord and did tell them about it you fricking moron, they just ignore it and never fix anything
That isn't a Linux problem. That's a fightcade dev problem.
>no one uses Linux
>things randomly break on Linux and never get fixed because no one uses Linux
>things never work on Linux or take a million workarounds because no one uses Linux
>durr it's not a Linux problem
tell me what benefit Linux has besides companies like valve not having to pay for a windows license on their devices
>The usual schizo argument about spying and MS shit
>better for programming and easier to make the OS do what you want
>>no one uses Linux
I use Linux.
randomly break on Linux and never get fixed because no one uses Linux
Bugs I've reported have been fixed in a timely manner. Just before opening this thread, I was playing a game with a source port that has had two bugs fixed because of my reports. It works now. These bugs weren't even exclusive to the Linux version, so I helped it work better on Windows too. You're welcome. I'm sorry that the Fightcade developers care enough to release a Linux build but apparently don't care enough to make it good.
never work on Linux or take a million workarounds because no one uses Linux
Works on my machine.
>>durr it's not a Linux problem
Works on my machine.
>I did tell them , they just ignore it and never fix anything
That's unfortunate, but it doesn't mean the operating system is bad.
>>bro it totally doesn't happen
Okay "bro" but this post
isn't saying it didn't happen. It's suggesting that you go and report it to the developers, since you're already spending time complaining about it. But if you want to complain exclusively to people who can't fix the problem, that's your choice. As someone who doesn't use Fightcade, I don't really care if they fix their bug.
>this type of shit would NEVER happen on windows
If that's the case, then perhaps it's because the Fightcade developers are better at writing software for Windows, or perhaps they spend more time testing their Windows build.
>Linux "devs" are a bunch of fricking trannies and just ignore any issues that happen
Who are you talking about? The Linux kernel developers did not make the Linux version of Fightcade. Are you talking about the people on the Fightcade team who made the Linux version of it? I have no idea if they have separate developers dedicated maintaining to the Linux version. Or are you running the Windows version of Fightcade on Linux? In that case, I'd assume your problem is with Wine developers, but in that case I'd say you should try the Linux version of the software you're trying to run before giving up.
>dude just do free labor for us
>btw we're not responsible for anything
>who know when this will get fixed, maybe never
geee I wonder why people don't bother with this shit
>>dude just do free labor for us
But you're already wasting your time crying about it. Whether you want it to be fixed or just want to vent your frustration, crying to the people who made the program seems more productive.
>>btw we're not responsible for anything
Uh, yeah. Unless the Fightcade developers are in this thread, nobody in this thread is responsible for fixing bugs in the Linux version of Fightcade. The Linux kernel developers also don't maintain Fightcade's Linux build, unless there just happen to be some people working on both projects (which seems unlikely).
>>who know when this will get fixed, maybe never
Definitely never, if you expect random imageboard users to fix it.
what did you expect? the linux ecosystem exists primarily due to community contribution.
if you want to be a b***hing leech then frick off back to windows
Let's fight, right now.
>fightcade
Yup, been happening to me too, even 2 years ago.
Never bothered to report it though because I can just use other chat clients
>2 years ago
this shit wasn't happening to me literal days ago until now it suddenly is
it also isn't recognizing my fricking stick anymore unless I remap EVERYTHING after I open it, even though the inputs are already mapped to be exactly the fricking same
this shit was not happening literally yesterday and now after changing nothing it's fricking broken
I hate Linux so fricking much
>I hate Linux so fricking much
Why use it then? You fighting game autists deserve everything that happens to you, the only good games on Fightcade are the Metal Slug series
because the Steam Deck is my only fricking PC
I don't have a choice
You can put Windows on it though, but it'll suck even harder
Also, maybe you should have bought a PC with that money
how the frick am I supposed to know how to install a fricking operating system
>fighting autist
>0 knowledge about computers
you unironically deserve it, why are you even here
why are so many people computer illiterate?
Boomers never bothered to learn and just got Gen Xers to do everything. Gen X has a general idea but still are not very good at specifics unless they are trained in it. 30 year old Boomers have a much better grasp then any other generation but still not very high.
Zoomers were given almost all tech when it was figured out and streamlined and so never had to troubleshoot or really do any work to make technology function. So they are nearly as bad as true boomers.
In all situation is fricked. Turn humanity off and back on again.
>playing Fightcade on WiFi
You deserve to suffer.
Either report the problem to the dev or learn how to install other emulators.
linux is only useful if you are
A. autistic
B. schizophrenic
or
3. Grew up with it
>shit that never happened
>anime character with facial expression
we're owned, penguin bros
cute bunny
You could have one uped this by posting b for the B.
>A.
>B.
>3.
Works on my machine
I tried mount & blade on linux once, one of the directional blocks didn't work like I was playing on a fricking used madcatz controller. If you're not playing some pixel indie game just assume some shit will go wrong, it's even worse than people with AMD cards.
Why is fightcade so shit on linux. Why are the devs so trash.
I'm on Mint and can't pick Mai in Blazblue CF without the game crashing. Only Mai, that's it. Do the Mint devs hate her or something?
>Do the Mint devs hate her or something?
Depends, is she israeli or supports Israel?
>morons on this board convinced me to get a fricking Steam Deck instead of a real pc
Literally no one has ever said this genuinely, have a nice day
sex-desiring eyes
mitama would use windows
WTF? Is this real?
The cat and Sneed dialogue aren't, but the rest of it is all real. Miitama was a pure shitpost of an anime for the first 4/5 episodes, then it cheaped out with retro game scenes and lost its lustre. AOTS and it's not even a question.
trusting Ganker is even more moronic than trusting Ganker
linux is a meme
Verification not required.
linux has always, and will always be a meme for gaming applications.
I want to join Dakini's cult and watch Dakini and Rishu scissor each other. Then watch as Rishu gets out the ropes and whips and goes to town on Dakini.
Steam Deck with its shitty fork os is the real joke
>program has Windows, Mac, and Linux versions
>Windows version of program has a bug
>it's the program's fault
>Mac version of program has a bug
>it's the program's fault
>Linux version of program has a bug
>it's the operating system's fault
always funny
I got most of my games playable on Linux but they all still had some minor problems that took away some enjoyment. I could make it work but since it's easy to even just pirate Windows, Linux has no real benefit right now. Especially since some core things on Linux are still being polished. I could see it being fine at some point in the future but right now it's worse than Windows at least for gaming.
>install linux
>install steam on linux
>point steam to game exe on my computer and set it to run with proton
>game works flawlessly
FRICKING LINUX
>>game works flawlessly
LOL
Depends on the game. Going "NOOOOOO THE UNSPECIFIED GAME CAN'T POSSIBLY WORK" is even more schizo than pretending Linux has no problems.
Linux provides control and independence in exchange for convenience, and since the majority of people are slaves by their own accord they will always trade independence for convenience. This is the reason why linux is a minority in market share.
>I can't believe the morons on this board convinced me to get a fricking Steam Deck instead of a real pc
Sadly, you're the moron for listening to people on Ganker. Use your brain and do some actual research to figure out if you want something or not.
>check devs
>first one claims to be an open source advocate
>fightcade isn't open source
???
how the frick did I frick up the quote
playing any multiplayer game based of emulators. Not infested full of hackers and aim bots lol
