I play stalker on my laptop. it gets warm but that's how cooling works
Stalker SoC has an issue where the framerate isn't limited. You may be running over 1000 frames per second, which causes your laptop to heat up.
I'll look into it thanks, but the fans never max out so I've always figured I'm ok
Maybe because they weren't fricking meant to play videogames on you spastic. Doesn't matter if it runs or not, regardless of specs, its meant for work/office shit. You gonna complain that rain is wet next?
>its meant for work/office shit
>Has GEFORCE
Anon...
>put a GEFORCE into a toaster
>DUDE WTF THIS IS A GAMING TOASTER?! WHY WOULD YOU TOAST BREADED PRODUCTS IN IT?!
>buying a laptop for gaming
You’re either still living with your parents and got it as a present, or you’re a hopeless moron that has a surface-level knowledge of computers.
where's the "you have to move your gayming station every two hours" option
you dont have to play videogames 24/7
mine has shit intakes i guess because when i moved it off the tabletop and onto a stand, it stopped getting to be so fricking hot
Anon, PC towers can hit up to 75 with good cooling. Of course a laptop with no spacing between the GPU and CPU, with stock entry and exit fans are gonna lead to your CPU/GPU killing itself.
my gpu and pcu are on opposite ends and the laptop is 5 metres wide
you know nothing about me
Just stop worrying about the heating, right?
>play on this laptop
>most games aren't compatible on it
>Photoshop lags
>Word lags
>That'll be $1299.99 + $139.99 for the keyboard
>stays kinda cool
I've had a gaming laptop for more than 5 years now. Here are some tips I can give ya:
>Resolution/framerate/antialiasing matters for temperature
I'm out of the loop about the latest but playing games at 720p/30fps stabilizes the temperature greatly for me.
>Disabling hyperboost
Got to power plan -> Processor management or whatever -> Set it down to 99% to disabling the overclocking some cpu's do automatically.
>Get a coolin pad, play with a fan on.
Preferably the fan pointing at you and the laptop but also at a window or room's doorway so the heat can gtfo.
t. third worlder with no AC
This is why gaming laptops will always be moronic
>Hp
Oof
>Anything but integrated graphics or apu in a laptop
Bigger oof
Never buy HP products, worse planned obsolescence than dell.
I wonder how these 2 companies still exist, I never had a Hp or Dell purchase I didn't regret, no matter the price bracket.
Extremely long term business contracts.
Laptops (if you're gonna game on one) are only good for playing old games and roguelikes if you spend most of your day out of your house. If you're trying to play AAA games on a laptop just get a damn desktop
>>It gets warm/hot regardless
>>Cooling fan does nothing
... anon, it's not meant to stay at room temperature. The computer getting warm is okay. It would be a lot fricking warmer if the cooling fan were not there.
>zero laptops with traditional keyboards in 2021
why
how can people actually like the island style keyboards
1. Don't put the laptop on your lap. Have some open air or a cooling fan below it.
2. Get some ice packs and a towel. Place the towel over as much of the laptop as you can while still being able to play and then place the ice pack.
3. Use lowest graphic settings possible.
i bought a display unit gaming laptop with a nice mechanical keyboard. you can't really use the mechanical keyboard when gaming because there is too much vibration from the fans running at full speed.
>tfw laptop
>only playing old and emulated games
>never heat up
I'm based
all "gaming" laptops overheat
3000$ macbook pros overheat and throttle down after like 40 mins of doing anything
they're a scam for low information consumers
Lock fps to 30 or reduce graphic settings for 60 fps
>Laptop heats up
>Get cold very easily
>Use heat to warm up
I'm a genius.
>try FFXIV on a laptop with integrated graphics
>actually runs pretty well with everything on low
>play for several days with no problems
>suddenly temp goes to 90 the moment I launch the game which causes throttling
>try to fix this for 3 days but nothing helps
I fricking hate computers.
Get a cooling pad for it
If you own anything other than a macbook you are moronic and poor.
>Best dev OS
>Most convenient OS
>Apple eco system
>Peak build quality
>Infinite battery life
>You shouldn't play games on laptops anyway
There's nothing to do on a macbook. If I wanted to get something that useless I'd get a chromebook.
dev gays
>xcode
>native terminal
art gays
>final cut pro
normal gays
>all day battery
>no viruses
>ios app integration
Like I said, if you game on a laptop, you are a lost cause. Otherwise, macbooks are the only acceptable laptops in 2012+9
Ah yes, the laptops that are known for destroying their screen cables, keyboards dying, low quality parts in general, proprietary parts you cant buy, need a dongle for everything, etc are the only acceptable laptops around.
>buying a fricking gaming laptop
Enjoy your two years tops of life span, bro
>buying gaming pcs in general
Hey I'm on this one right now.
Playing Honkai Impact on it.
I think its a solid laptop but they aren't magic. Desktops are for gaming.
