It always was kino. Buggy as shit and unfinished, and definitely a disappointment, but taken as it was on release without any expectations it was always a good game with a kino aesthetic and story. But the issue was the main story was the only part that was kino. Everything else was filler.
Yeah I never looked into the game pre-release because I didn't care for The Witcher games so I had no stake in CDPR. Ended up buying it the first time it was 20% off (so after at least one major patch I'm assuming) and enjoyed it enough to 100% it twice.
Sure I've played through it on PS5 and it runs reasonably well in performance mode with minor visual glitches. Now playing through it again on 2.0 and there's still some visual glitches left so be aware of that.
loaded up an old save and this shit looks crazy with the new ray tracing and frame gen, wow. realized im 3 missions away from beating the main quest. might dabble and finish up side quests and go back to Garfield on gamepass or just beat the game tonight and get phantom liberty, hmm
you can throw guys as projectiles and ground pound them into mush if you knock them over and shoulder bash guys (it's faster than sprinting)
and you can get stat boosts and extra temporary health from healing items
they also added stuff like dashing to reflex, grenades and healing items now run on a cooldown, and what are essentially glory kill perks to every melee weapon type, cool gets throwables, reflex gets blades, body gets blunt, and intelligence gets monowire
also I feel like the one of the guys who directed the update played some doom mods recently because as soon as I saw the main blunt perks I was instantly reminded of treasure tech which is a good sign
Well you can still punch people but the effectiveness is toned down a lot. Body Builds are fun as frick now because its all about going in and fricking up everyone as a tank.
It's way better now but there's one caveat, it seems like you can't Kereznikov with gorilla arms anymore. But at least the dash input works way better than dodging used to.
I feel like Gorilla Arms are exceptional for fighting solo enemies but suck ass against groups. Blades got really neat tools to fight against groups, but I still went blunt weapons. Maybe I should find a big LMG to lug around" hopefully the dlc has a good one. Aren't LMGs the only weapon group in the game without a legendary/iconic?

here's a little tip, if you punch an enemy and he turns around you can grab him as a human shield to soak up damage and buy you some time
Theres a new sword that deals guranteed crit damage if enemy is on fire, just lob a grenade or use that special pistol from padre and youll have crits for days
2.0 got some pretty nice perks which spice up gameplay quite a bit which is pretty nice but besides that a lot of it's the same game minus the level balanced missions like cyberpsychos and boxing being completely neutered by level scaling forcing bosses down on your level where you can stun them into an instant grab knockout from level 4 if you pick the stun perk in body or you jump on top of them which also knocks them out instantly
