Extract it to a folder, then search for "DIABDAT.MPQ" on google, download it and copy it to your DevilutionX folder.
GOG is the best place to get it these days. They have it for 10 dollars with the Hellfire expansion. It's worth playing at least once just to experience the roots of the ARPG genre. It's a quick game anyway, it's literally one town and a single 16 level dungeon.. Probably takes like 6 hours for a total playthrough

the whole genre can be boiled down to attack enemy until your hp is low, then heal and kite and attack again

You have to dump everything into dex
You have to be a completionist with this game.
You don't rush for the exits like a c**t.
Clear all the floors even if you find the exit and you will level up smoothly.
It's helps alot if you save before changing floors and teleporting back to town. Every time you reload the merchant In town will have different inventory and you can eventually find what you need. I consider a bit of savescumming a fair tradeoff since you can't replay levels and rng can really screw you over on this one

Action was NEVER main part until Median gays and d3 call-of-duty fans had arrived and ruined fricking everything with their adhd mandatory "moveskills". Not being able to play real actions like quake and ut due to the lack of skill, they had decided to move into slow genres, but also were unable to find satisfaction due to strange numbers and different symbols affecting their chance to hit, which was an incomprehensible concept for them.
