Stay away from au ra, cats, and female roegadyn. While there are still trannies outside of these as they infest the entire game, this is where the highest concentration of them is in my experience.

I can't even really bring myself to care about Savage and Ultimates being cheated in because Savage is just item-level that'll be invalidated in a patch or two and Ultimates are just bragging rights. I'd be angrier about cheating in treasure maps than I would in raids, and I dunno if that's even possible to cheat in Excitatron 5000 and always guess the right door. Yes, or at least decided server-side and only exposed to the client after being chosen. There's no way to cheat that (or else there would already be a plugin).

Nope, not accurate at all. I don't do dailies unless my levelling friends need a role. I really appreciate the variety, Eureka was fun, Bozja was fun, learning and mastering raids and bosses is really satisfying, but wow that combat has grown old. I switch classes after every dungeon to desperately try to escape the monotony.

You'd agree with me if you've yourself experienced Ul' Dah like I have. I am an avid RPer and ERPer, and have sunk thousands of hours into Ul' Dah alone. My playtime is 3000 hours. I know firsthand that a majority of those people mod, from small changes to the latency and gameplay, to cosmetics, Balmung itself is practically the modding community itself. EVERYWHERE, EVERYONE I talk to uses mods, even deeper ones like mare are practically unavoidable.

I've been in an FC for two years and they're all super nice and chill. Your impressions of FC are warped just because you never found a genuine one.
It's easy for outsiders to criticize and mock RP and ERP, but the joy of writing stories with another human being on the fly is obviously very popular. It takes imagination and creativity, you get to use the world and the races to craft intricate stories. It's a nerds wet dream, so of course it's fricking everywhere in MMOs. Some people don't see the apple in their mind, some people lost their imaginations as they grew up.

I'm very interested in the silly D20 game they're putting out since I saw Warrior and Dragoon among their jobs for choice. Both of those'll be really hard to get "feeling good" in a tabletop format, especially Dragoon; I have a lot of misgivings about how Barbarians handle rages in D&D and the class's own flavor in reference to Conan being at odds with that so I'm interested in seeing how Square handles what's basically a Berserker. Dragoon meanwhile you either have to fully commit to turnbased-style "Jump removes you from the game board" or you have to fully commit to Jump just being a flavored attack, I end up preferring the former for Dragoon implementations in 5e since the Dragoon actually feels like they're doing something Dragoon-y in play.

You're regurgitating a meme talking point, but I'll take it. Obviously not all 3000 hours were spent "standing around." Early on I did a lot of content, my MSQ is caught up, and even in Ul'dah I spend most of my time RPing out city-wide scenarios. I don't believe "standing around" accurately describes Ul'dah, as most of those people are typing and socializing. The entire point of an MMO.

Yeah I joined late. FFXIV was my first MMO. After wanting to get into it I decided FFXIV looked the best and joined during SHB. I don't think I'm going to be able to get higher hours. The combat is really brain dead, it's hard to force myself to do it anymore. Even at level 90, it's just so boring. I've done it a million times and it just never changes. I really only log in because FFXIV Balmung is probably the most popular MMO hotspot in the world right now and the social energy is just off the walls.

Hell, this isn't even a modbeast issue. The situation is no different from XI and the Windower. For years players asked, then begged for basic UI and QoL improvements that should be no-brainer slam-dunk changes to make the game function right and be more pleasant to play. XI was garbage without the Windower there to unfrick SE's wrong-headed approaches. And now, Dalamud + QL has stepped up to the plate to foot the bill while SE continues to sit around with its thumb up its ass. If they made a real effort to block the use of addons(which would take far more effort than them simply fixing the fricking things the addons correct, I might add) going forward, I would stop playing permanently.

I really appreciate the variety, Eureka was fun, Bozja was fun, learning and mastering raids and bosses is really satisfying, but wow that combat has grown old. I switch classes after every dungeon to desperately try to escape the monotony.

I'm very interested in the silly D20 game they're putting out since I saw Warrior and Dragoon among their jobs for choice. Both of those'll be really hard to get "feeling good" in a tabletop format, especially Dragoon; I have a lot of misgivings about how Barbarians handle rages in D&D and the class's own flavor in reference to Conan being at odds with that so I'm interested in seeing how Square handles what's basically a Berserker. Dragoon meanwhile you either have to fully commit to turnbased-style "Jump removes you from the game board" or you have to fully commit to Jump just being a flavored attack, I end up preferring the former for Dragoon implementations in 5e since the Dragoon actually feels like they're doing something Dragoon-y in play.

Early on I did a lot of content, my MSQ is caught up, and even in Ul'dah I spend most of my time RPing out city-wide scenarios. I don't believe "standing around" accurately describes Ul'dah, as most of those people are typing and socializing. The entire point of an MMO.
Yeah I joined late. FFXIV was my first MMO. After wanting to get into it I decided FFXIV looked the best and joined during SHB. I don't think I'm going to be able to get higher hours. The combat is really brain dead, it's hard to force myself to do it anymore. Even at level 90, it's just so boring. I've done it a million times and it just never changes. I really only log in because FFXIV Balmung is probably the most popular MMO hotspot in the world right now and the social energy is just off the walls.

Hell, this isn't even a modbeast issue. The situation is no different from XI and the Windower. For years players asked, then begged for basic UI and QoL improvements that should be no-brainer slam-dunk changes to make the game function right and be more pleasant to play. XI was garbage without the Windower there to unfrick SE's wrong-headed approaches. And now, Dalamud + QL has stepped up to the plate to foot the bill while SE continues to sit around with its thumb up its ass. If they made a real effort to block the use of addons(which would take far more effort than them simply fixing the fricking things the addons correct, I might add) going forward, I would stop playing permanently.

Anon, the dye channels are already there. They just aren't unlocked for you. You can dye any part of any piece of gear exactly like you want it right now using penumbra. This dye channel update requires nothing on their behalf except a UI for it. Which makes it insane that it's going to take multiple updates for every piece of gear to get access to it. They're just drawing it out for no reason.

i agree with this anon, the tier is just overall boring, reclearing feels like a chore, i'm glad i'm done with p10s as a whole on my main but i dread doing reclears unless i can get them done in 1 hour
i didn't mind p8s at all every time i did it

last week was the only time that p9s took me over 3 parties to reclear, that's almost as much as it took me to clear it the first time

It's this. 9-12 has been awful. Easily the least fun tier in 3 expansions, though Alphascape comes close.

Fair point. It's not really fair to compare Alpha to p9-12s, since the latter is far and away the worst raiding experience I've had in 8 years of raiding.
