It's not a cope. Japan had a hard time dealing with it and it caused tons of issues over there. XIV patches are not just worked on in the four months between them, CBU3 plan and develop content almost a year ahead just like any other developer. It's likely they even cut some plans entirely in case Covid will still affect their future development.
That of course doesn't excuse lacking rewards of Criterion and overtuned Savage fights. Those were mistakes and not development issues.

Yes. Recently Genshin Impact grind addict Zepla has been complaining about Endwalker's lack of grindy and midcore content and some other jumped on that bandwagon.
She claims everyone fells the same, but she really only asked her own audience who of course will always agree with her. She made like four videos about it to farm that engagement.
There's nothing in XIV for her to keep streamerbucks flowing, which is why she tried to get into drama like GingerPrime and Misshapenchair did before her.

XIV threads and official forums are monitored by malicious discords that try and steer opinions of it a certain way. One tactic you see often is taking anything a streamer says and applying it to anyone who ever shared that opinion past or present. 1st one was at early shadowbringers, a lot of people had issues with where combat was heading and a lot of people started quitting the game or going back to wow, I saw this while raiding, by the 3rd fight a lot of people I raided with just gave up as the combat became too boring, and stuff wasn't as bad as EW and the 3 min meta.
2nd was definitely in EW, have you seen the Yoshi interview prior to ff16 release where he complains that the critics to the game were all "haters" and couldn't understand why people would go out of their way to criticize what they see, it was evident there that at some point he got jaded and forgot how to separate passion from trolling
3rd this one was shadowbringers, a lot of things people had issues with at the start of shb are still ignored, best example being DRK rachmaninoff opener, this touches at 2nd point too, they seem to be too far off from the needs of the average player drowed in obnoxious twitter and plebbitor praises over the smallest things, the devs can do no wrong anymore and you're a discor schizo if you think otherwise.
4th I'd say that probably started with late HW as Yoshi went into doing 16, I dont expect him to play the game enough to understand or listen from people about what is going wrong, so he relegated this to his assistant director and team, which obviously don't seem to get it, I mean its too easy if you're an avg dev to just surroudn yourself with people singing praises and ignore all complaints, and if stuff go to shit it won't even fall in your lap, Yoshi will take full responsability, but he left this realm a long time ago, thinking its in good hands.

Content creators went from hating forays to realizing why the devs added them in previous expansions.
Then it turned into wanting more extreme difficulty content that helps bridge the gap from normal raids to savage so PF lasts longer.
Extremes are midcore
Whenever you see midcore, just replace it with "extreme difficulty" or "as much time and engagement as clearing extremes takes"
It's a really nice difficulty level, but we only get one extreme per patch. Some early floor savages are at that level too, but it varies.

I'm one of the midcore whiners, I'm sick of savage bodychecks. I want more extremes. I wish Criterion was extreme difficulty instead of savage difficulty.
I'd be happier if savage design was changed though. I did o9s recently and while the dps check was a joke due to scaling, it was really nice to not have every mechanic require all 8 players to be perfect, it was fun to be able to recover from mistakes and prog so much at once rather than being held back by the weakest player. It took less than an hour to clear but that hour was more fun than all the hours I spent on Anabaseios savage

V&C initially seemed that way but variant is too easy while criterion ended up savage difficulty in the eyes of both casuals and raiders.

In FFVI Relm fills the Beastmaster role by painting an animal she sees, briefly summoning it to her side to use an attack. She doesn't capture animals, she just paints and summons them.
They could call it painter or pictomancer, but just make it some sort of Onmyoji/Ink mage sorta thing, like how XIV's Sage isn't at all how Sages are in past FF games

Because most will refuse to get in VC or read instructions and get the proper logos actions, they will die, won't be rezzed as no one will risk a suicide over someone who didn't even bother to pop his own logos actions in there.
not to mention that the logos and preparation are expensive both in gil and time for people to throw away in players who think they can get carried.
BA may be a lot easier now due to power creep, but it still requires coordination, it can still fail in multiple points if people die or dont contribute enough dps, and will 100% fail at ozma if there are too many people not listening and paying attention or dead
this puts more strain in the dedicated players that now have to deliver a better performance to make up for all the free loaders, why would they do it?

It's not a cope. Japan had a hard time dealing with it and it caused tons of issues over there. XIV patches are not just worked on in the four months between them, CBU3 plan and develop content almost a year ahead just like any other developer. It's likely they even cut some plans entirely in case Covid will still affect their future development.
That of course doesn't excuse lacking rewards of Criterion and overtuned Savage fights. Those were mistakes and not development issues.

1st one was at early shadowbringers, a lot of people had issues with where combat was heading and a lot of people started quitting the game or going back to wow, I saw this while raiding, by the 3rd fight a lot of people I raided with just gave up as the combat became too boring, and stuff wasn't as bad as EW and the 3 min meta.
2nd was definitely in EW, have you seen the Yoshi interview prior to ff16 release where he complains that the critics to the game were all "haters" and couldn't understand why people would go out of their way to criticize what they see, it was evident there that at some point he got jaded and forgot how to separate passion from trolling
3rd this one was shadowbringers, a lot of things people had issues with at the start of shb are still ignored, best example being DRK rachmaninoff opener, this touches at 2nd point too, they seem to be too far off from the needs of the average player drowed in obnoxious twitter and plebbitor praises over the smallest things, the devs can do no wrong anymore and you're a discor schizo if you think otherwise.
4th I'd say that probably started with late HW as Yoshi went into doing 16, I dont expect him to play the game enough to understand or listen from people about what is going wrong, so he relegated this to his assistant director and team, which obviously don't seem to get it, I mean its too easy if you're an avg dev to just surroudn yourself with people singing praises and ignore all complaints, and if stuff go to shit it won't even fall in your lap, Yoshi will take full responsability, but he left this realm a long time ago, thinking its in good hands.

Then it turned into wanting more extreme difficulty content that helps bridge the gap from normal raids to savage so PF lasts longer.

I'd be happier if savage design was changed though. I did o9s recently and while the dps check was a joke due to scaling, it was really nice to not have every mechanic require all 8 players to be perfect, it was fun to be able to recover from mistakes and prog so much at once rather than being held back by the weakest player. It took less than an hour to clear but that hour was more fun than all the hours I spent on Anabaseios savage

Because most will refuse to get in VC or read instructions and get the proper logos actions, they will die, won't be rezzed as no one will risk a suicide over someone who didn't even bother to pop his own logos actions in there.
not to mention that the logos and preparation are expensive both in gil and time for people to throw away in players who think they can get carried.
BA may be a lot easier now due to power creep, but it still requires coordination, it can still fail in multiple points if people die or dont contribute enough dps, and will 100% fail at ozma if there are too many people not listening and paying attention or dead
this puts more strain in the dedicated players that now have to deliver a better performance to make up for all the free loaders, why would they do it?
