it would be more accurate to say 'western history' when you make this claim
most of eastern history is barbarians (mongols) completely exterminating and raping entire civilizations to the point of china being nearly entirely a rapebaby nation of halfbreeds today
Plenty of bad guys won. Even in our propagandist version of history we still have things like Jeanne D'Arc's trial memorialized because the nation of France and the Papacy remained relevant and independent and could step in and shut down the propaganda side.
There weren't really any bad guys until WW2.
I know you don't want to acknowledge them, but england exists anon.
Those kind of arguments are only compelling if you have the same mindset as the boss and it's always objectively a bad one. Generally video games are less subtle than movies when they're doing a "we'll show how easy it is to fall for that kind of argument" kind of thing.
>Really makes you think.
Factually incorrect but I guess that's the kind of things the far-right conspiracy nut types would believe.
That's Germans. Nazis were a political party that got over 82% total votes. And contrary to popular belief (and a false one to boot that was fed for ages), they were socialists. Not to mention national socialism is still socialism and Hitler wasn't a nationalist since he killed people that didn't agree with him (and he wasn't German).
Its fine if the 2nd to last boss was the hardest or close to it, as its the last "gameplay" bossfight while the one afterwards can be only the last "story" bossfight.

His class is Assassin because he uses daggers. His skill bar is entirely PvE skills unique to him (plus Natural Resistance on account of being a boss).

It's just memorable because if you're playing two player and one player joins him and the other wants to fight him, you fight eachother instead.
>Sorrow Kingdom gets shit on and cut off despite not being that bad >Volk, the kingdom of pollution and perpetually warring autists destroying people's homes and lives, is totally acceptable
All the kingdoms in the game represent 4 different mind functions in the story and the sorrow is a 5th Kingdom that technically falls under the same category as Joilant, since both Joy and Sorrow are emotions.
The population of all the kingdoms heavily lean into their respective mind function to the detriment of everything else, which is why the plot point of the kingdoms not communicating between each other is made into such an important issue.
The names can be broken down thusly
La-Lakoosha: Probably derived from the name of the fictional Shangri-La, represents the mind function of intuition as meditation is often used to reach inner peace through unconscious means.
Joilant: Very straightforward name, it's a theme park and it shouldn't be hard to explain how it relates to emotions.
Volk: Perhaps the hardest one to explain, it relates to the mind function of Sense that is easier understood as perception, which relates to the basic 5 senses we have. People that lean heavily on this aspect are often engineering types. The name comes from the German Volk which means people. This is pretty indisputable if you know what content was cut during development.
Mira Mira: Relates to the mind function of thinking, which in this instance manifests as the process of dwelling on the past. The name is a phonetic corruption of Mirror Mirror.
Kindom of Sorrow: Represents a repressed part of the psyche, which is why it has to be unearthed by draining the sea in the game. A very interesting detail is that the specific statue that is destroyed to reveal the bell necessary to achieve this has her arms tied by a ring, none of the other Goddess statues are like this.

There's also a place on the actual moon literally called the Sea of Tears.
Sea of Tears, Moon Kingdom, Luna-tea.
It's all about the Moon and how Huepow of the Moon Kingdom mindfricked Klonoa's head up big time.
It's interesting how the King of Sorrow's speech carries a lot of the same intent as Ghadius from the last game. Like Klonoa himself got convinced by his speech after getting yeeted from Phantomile, but refuses to admit it to himself.
I can see a character who is a vessel of the player, their clone-oa, winding up being as nihilistic as Ghadius and the King of Sorrow.
You know, once Klonoa realizes that he is merely an empty shell waiting for the next dream to be summoned to and his body controlled by the next player playing the game.
It's hard to convince yourself that you actually do matter when all signs point to your existence and freewill being irrelevant by the mechanics and circumstances of the world you live in.

Klonoa's existence as a dream traveller doesn't necessarily have to be quite that grim lore wise. It's just that the two stories that has had the most thought put into them, them being the mainline games, are the ones where he's in situations where he has a problem shoved into his face without that much agency. I don't necessarily think it's a good idea to keep that aspect as a constant for the series. Huepow just happened to pull a real number on him, and he had to be a janny in his own dream to clean up the mess which was a direct result of him helping someone else to clean up their mess first.

I'd really like to see a Klonoa 3 with a renewed vigor and purpose in Klonoa. Where he knows he's a Dream Traveler, and has to destroy nightmares and leave to the next adventure. Like how he becomes a Dream Champion/Dream Hero of the likes in the GBA games, but in a mainline game.
In the mainline games, he already fought a demon of Ghadius+Nahatomb, and fought his inner demons of the King of Sorrow. So now he just needs to utilize those nightmare demon fighting experiences constructively to be a better Dream Traveler.
>Sorrow Kingdom gets shit on and cut off despite not being that bad >Volk, the kingdom of pollution and perpetually warring autists destroying people's homes and lives, is totally acceptable
What did Klonoa 2 mean by this?
Klonoa 2 takes place place in Klonoa's psyche as he's coping with the ending to the first game.
The King of Sorrow is Klonoa's sorrow incarnate.
The only person who has to accept Sorrow in the end isn't Lunatea, but Klonoa himself. Both Klonoa and the King of Sorrow have the same goal of coping with grief and loss, but have different approaches.
The King of Sorrow wants to take revenge on the world and run away from the problem by making the world as isolated and desolated as Hyuponia, while Klonoa wants to integrate the emotion of Sorrow back into Lunatea to make it whole again. >"And no one will run away anymore. After all, we've come too far to turn back, right?"
>the act of defeating the final boss is actually a entire quest in of itself where you meet up old allies from past adventures and through some crazy co-op joint effort disestablish the safeguards of the final boss one by one so the main hero (you) can approach him and demand the 1v1 to decide the fate of existance
THIS is how you do a "power of friendship" payoff btw. shame so few games manage to get this right.
fricking hated that doujin. >uhmm why wont u humans just let us eat you?
yeah but why do you eat humans specifically? why not eat cows and pigs like the rest of us? its clearly a inferiority/superiority jealously complex thing because you realize you wouldnt have to go through this whole song and dance if you would just fall in line with whats acceptable yet instead you CHOOSE to sit here and CONTEST the humans. your rivals, your equals if not superiors of whom you live in the shadow of and whos language that you speak and customs you uphold?
stop being a little b***h and fall in line and all your problems would cease. Hell we could probably even make you a human-flavored substitute if you asked nicely enough.
kek, I mixed the threads, thought this one was about antagonist joining the team in the second game, if you excuse me, I gotta KMS by bukkake for shaming my family's name.
Was watching one of those ww2 in color things on netflix and was shocked to see a whole episode dedicated to Dresden. Of course, they had to spend 20 minutes stressing that Goebbels added a zero to the death toll. Next episode was about one of the camps so I decided I had enough there, but are npc’s really so obtuse they can’t put 2 + 2 together and deduce that if the losing side who has no control over the propaganda can inflate a death toll…sigh.
>Actually we're an evil empire because we are forcefully uniting the world against Evil God who is awakening! >No we didnt feel like mentioning this compelling arguement to the world before now that you've ruined all our plans >Now you will need to take him out with 4 homies in a row, and if you feel like it his brother Bonus Boss who will awaken in 1000 years if he isnt defeated, but thats up to you, bye ack-

America and trannies won so you're wrong.

Tell that to Ghengis Khan.

Fricking where? I've been on this shithole site for 15 fricking years, if I was able to leave I'd have done it years ago.
There weren't really any bad guys until WW2.
true, and the bad guys won
I would say the opposite, everybody acted like buttholes, especially nazis, soviets and japs
Plenty of bad guys won. Even in our propagandist version of history we still have things like Jeanne D'Arc's trial memorialized because the nation of France and the Papacy remained relevant and independent and could step in and shut down the propaganda side.
I know you don't want to acknowledge them, but england exists anon.
Didn't America loose to the Vietnamese.
Yes. The good guys won.
Yes, America was the villain there
Saying America won or lost Vietnam is like saying the French won the American revolution. It wasn't their war
>final boss makes a compelling argument
Those kind of arguments are only compelling if you have the same mindset as the boss and it's always objectively a bad one. Generally video games are less subtle than movies when they're doing a "we'll show how easy it is to fall for that kind of argument" kind of thing.

Well there are differences between the two. Thing is there are little of them.
