Yeah don't worry. I get that. It's just a bit of delusion on my part. I'm still probably going to end up putting down the rolls. C2 possibly letting you skip a healer is good and having healing on her does fit with the hydro theme, but it's a bit less fun to me than being able to have a bit more freedom with how long she stays on.

I have Noelle for Geo, Keqing for Electro, Hu Tao for Pyro, Ayaka for Cryo and while there isn't a Dendro one, my Nahida does high personal AND reactionary damage so she takes that spot. I just need a girl for Hydro and Anemo. Nilou's too good with her super bloom for me to try using her for that and Candace is only C1 and, well is Candace. So I want C2 Furina. Anemo will be Lynette if I can ever get her to C6 is a stronger option doesn't come later. Or an Anemo infuser comes later and I use Jean instead just cause I love her.
You will blow the eventual 200k primos on something instead of holding it for 300k. Think about it anon. You could walk out with a cool C6R5 Unknown God instead of holding for the bigger number.

I really should just buy a welkin so I have some extra funds for the brat archon but design-wise I'm not really feeling her(Navia and Clorinde are better in my opinion and I'm not even a haggay) and her kit seems kind of ass without another Fontaine character.
I dropped the game for a while in the later end of Sumeru so I've only got around 300 rolls saved. Will just get her C0 with no weapon and continue saving.
about 550-600 total I think. probably only going to c0 and make her an E bot that can't really burst until she has better supports that aren't homos, if that happens I will probably c4, her weapons is kind of shit though so unless that is on a very good banner I will skip that, I'd prefer to roll a PJC for her.

Festering Desire being good on Furina is an oversight because it was released so long ago and every future sword user will have really shitty skills with good bursts to make up for it.
It is crazy, but if you’ve seen shitpost builds done by other people then defense on skill spam characters can work with that thing. Is it worth not just slapping on an ER sword and having to painfully cope with your HP girl now being a split def/HP with the defense mattering less? Probably not.
Going by scaling, her burst is 2x more damage than her summons so basically 14x summon damage within 4s timeframe. Add in the random crit, it's basically 14-20x summon damage in 4s. Not game-breaking but she can provide really good sub-DPS in addition to her healing, dmg buff and hydro application.
Eventually. If I get her early, then I'll roll for C1 at least. If not then I'll stop at C0. My general policy is one constellation per banner, if I go for constellations at all (which is rare).
C2 gives you a reason to keep her on field. She's gonna be good either way, but C2 adds extra application. If you actually want to keep her on screen for a prolonged period of time, C2 is good.
The on field time is pretty poor, and I'm aligning more with the thought that you should be trying to eliminate the healer slot with it. I'll probably try gimmicky stuff with it and see if it turns out fun enough.
Why a pipe? Yeah it's funny to see sword wielding characters use it, especially Furina herself later I guess, but we barely have delinquent characters in this game. If there was a larger claymore version of this then it would fit Itto well enough visually.

I looked at her kit in detail by myself and the mechanics showcase with how it actually looks in game and came to the conclusion that it's rather clunky and limited in terms of synergies. Now maybe i'm wildly mistaken and will be pleasantly surprised once she's in my hands but so far i've been quite spot on in guessing my enjoyment of characters based on description and previews. I had no reservations about nahida and her ease of use with the linking mechanic for example and sure enough she's carved herself a nice spot on my team since.

I don't want to have dead time sitting around switching units one by one to heal since that's boring as frick, i don't want to play baizhu either. Her burst is meaningless number bloat locked behind a moronic system that limits the number or possible teams, has a build up so slow that it's useless in the overworld, regular bosses, weekly bosses and domains.
I suppose she's perfect for tryhards who want to shave a second off their runs, good for them, assuming she's not a frontload dps loss either and more than makes up for the dead slot.

Overworld enemy groups are far enough apart that any cooldown resets between fights and individual fights are over before any skill's uptime ends or needs to be recast, as an E bot there will be no meaningful difference between Furina and Kokomi apart from one of them draining team hp for a burst you'll never use

OK, the obvious quality of life advantages for general play are that she provides constant ranged hydro application from off-field for 30 seconds without needing normal attacks.
You don't have to run on top of things and place a jellyfish and then keep refreshing and moving the jellyfish, you don't need to use burst on XQ/Yelan and keep attacking. You can play her with characters like Ganyu, Lyney or Nouvilette and then press E and she just works. The E doesn't need to be refreshed on new targets like Nahida and it keeps hitting while you move. She also doubles as a healer when required and triggers all the overworld gimmicks in Fontaine both light and dark.

what's mechanically interesting to you? genshin doesn't really have a whole lot of room for mechanical depth anymore so we take what we can get. for me i like rpg number bullshit and i like seeing numbers influencing other numbers. furina turning your healing and damage taken into increased damage is what i would consider mechanically interesting, especially when you take other characters that sacrifice their own health or heal the entire party into account. her being able to swap forms depending on the scenario is something you don't see much in this game, i would consider that pretty mechanically interesting as well

i see the problem you're having but i think that's just how the game is at higher levels. a lot of characters' ults don't feel too necessary a lot of the time, they only see real use in domains or the abyss. i think this is more a problem with the world scaling than the characters themselves, maybe someday we'll get another world level or something.
that said i do enjoy the feeling of maximizing my damage and throwing down a bunch of ults even when it's not always necessary. i like the feeling of my characters "working together" or something like that

Yeah he actually is. His damage scaling is fricking nuts. I was using him level 70,level 6 normal skill with shit artefacts and he was still hitting 10k on each laser blast tick.
The test chambers are usually set up to make the characters look strong. In this case the slimes in Neuv's chamber mean he'll immediately get 3 stacks of his passive just by pissing and all the enemies are weak/low level so you do loads of damage.

Why? She's just a bad YunJin. She only boosts cryo damage like 5k at most, so for example 30k + 5k is NOTHING and it's limited to 6 times or so, which actually makes it like 30k damage in total. That amount might as well be spent on a slot that can actually dish out the same amount of damage or more.
Mihoyo keeping up the tradition of making male characters kits cool and fun and female lame and underwhelming, so neuvilette is the real archon and furina is just a joke character huh...

The thing is that the pipe still at least does something for her elemental skill (the crit). Take a look at the available swords, now take away all that are not for latelets and not for f2p and you're basically stuck with a bunch of sticks that only boost attack (which she doesn't care for) or maybe EM (and who knows if your team is going to use that) or simply just don't go well with the way her elemental skill works.

I think I have maybe two usable pieces right now, definitely not enough to even bother putting them on some temporary character to see the total stats. At least I have the Festering Desire, everything else is just a matter of time.

Golden Troupe is her BIS. At C2 Marechussy Hunter edges it out for personal damage, but you lose significant skill damage and the general consensus is that it isn't worth switching over

The way I see it, if a character can use an alternate mainstat, may as well go for it and give another character that good Hydro goblet instead. This is why I run an ATK goblet on Raiden and Sara has my good Electro goblet
Much better compared to hydro damage options if the math really does line up like that, and failing anything else you can probably throw in a mediocre HP% from Gilded and make up for it with a ridiculous off set circlet.
The two things that aren't complete thrash in my GT set are my hydro and hp goblet, so i lucked out in a sense.
Now i just need to get a good or just any crit hat.

Yes. You never have to spend for anything. The more you play the more free currency you'll build up for unlocking new characters from the gacha. There's also a pity system so if you save enough you are guaranteed to get the 5* character you want when they are featured.

C2 possibly letting you skip a healer is good and having healing on her does fit with the hydro theme, but it's a bit less fun to me than being able to have a bit more freedom with how long she stays on.

This past year Nahida is literally the only on field carry we've got and even that's just barely on field. We don't get any female on field characters.
I have Noelle for Geo, Keqing for Electro, Hu Tao for Pyro, Ayaka for Cryo and while there isn't a Dendro one, my Nahida does high personal AND reactionary damage so she takes that spot. I just need a girl for Hydro and Anemo. Nilou's too good with her super bloom for me to try using her for that and Candace is only C1 and, well is Candace. So I want C2 Furina. Anemo will be Lynette if I can ever get her to C6 is a stronger option doesn't come later. Or an Anemo infuser comes later and I use Jean instead just cause I love her.

Going by scaling, her burst is 2x more damage than her summons so basically 14x summon damage within 4s timeframe. Add in the random crit, it's basically 14-20x summon damage in 4s. Not game-breaking but she can provide really good sub-DPS in addition to her healing, dmg buff and hydro application.
I'll do it, but I'm not rolling the on field damage dealers near her. I refuse.

I really hoped she'd be good beyond her role as a statstick buffer and would work without complicated rotations and specific characters since i couldn't care less about optimizing damage at the price of fun when the game is already this easy.
At this point the only thing that matter to me is getting smoother, more flexible gameplay. Alas from everything i've seen it doesn't seem to be the case with Furina.
I'll probably still pull for C0 because i'm drowning in freemos and outside of Kino or Sandrone there's no other character that caught my eye but if she just ends up feeling like a side/downgrade to kokomi's jellyfish in terms of comfort then she'll get benched.

He was underwhelming in the leaks, then when he was released he wound up being broken and will be sitting on a tier of his own once he gets a proper support. I'm not looking at other people's takes on the kit or damage numbers, didn't care about muh damage before and never will.
I looked at her kit in detail by myself and the mechanics showcase with how it actually looks in game and came to the conclusion that it's rather clunky and limited in terms of synergies. Now maybe i'm wildly mistaken and will be pleasantly surprised once she's in my hands but so far i've been quite spot on in guessing my enjoyment of characters based on description and previews. I had no reservations about nahida and her ease of use with the linking mechanic for example and sure enough she's carved herself a nice spot on my team since.

Her burst is meaningless number bloat locked behind a moronic system that limits the number or possible teams, has a build up so slow that it's useless in the overworld, regular bosses, weekly bosses and domains.
I suppose she's perfect for tryhards who want to shave a second off their runs, good for them, assuming she's not a frontload dps loss either and more than makes up for the dead slot.

Her uptime is higher than raidens and raidens E lasts multiple camps. Again, at no energy cost. You're clearly a brainlet and a shitter.

I want her to be mechanically interesting and versatile in most of the game and not just be potentially useful for one abyss floor with very specific teams, the abyss isn't challenging it's a boring uninspired trap for e-peen addicts to artificially increase playtime
OK, the obvious quality of life advantages for general play are that she provides constant ranged hydro application from off-field for 30 seconds without needing normal attacks.
You don't have to run on top of things and place a jellyfish and then keep refreshing and moving the jellyfish, you don't need to use burst on XQ/Yelan and keep attacking. You can play her with characters like Ganyu, Lyney or Nouvilette and then press E and she just works. The E doesn't need to be refreshed on new targets like Nahida and it keeps hitting while you move. She also doubles as a healer when required and triggers all the overworld gimmicks in Fontaine both light and dark.

what's mechanically interesting to you? genshin doesn't really have a whole lot of room for mechanical depth anymore so we take what we can get. for me i like rpg number bullshit and i like seeing numbers influencing other numbers. furina turning your healing and damage taken into increased damage is what i would consider mechanically interesting, especially when you take other characters that sacrifice their own health or heal the entire party into account. her being able to swap forms depending on the scenario is something you don't see much in this game, i would consider that pretty mechanically interesting as well
i simply feel that a massive chunk of her kit being dedicated to a mechanic that is entirely useless outside of a minuscule and isolated part of the game is a waste and seeing people clamoring it as the second coming of jesus, despite her ability to walk on water, rubs me the wrong way.
as for interesting characters nahida comes to mind, linking characters is not just a percentage increase or i guess it could be but it's different enough
i see the problem you're having but i think that's just how the game is at higher levels. a lot of characters' ults don't feel too necessary a lot of the time, they only see real use in domains or the abyss. i think this is more a problem with the world scaling than the characters themselves, maybe someday we'll get another world level or something.
that said i do enjoy the feeling of maximizing my damage and throwing down a bunch of ults even when it's not always necessary. i like the feeling of my characters "working together" or something like that

Yeah he actually is. His damage scaling is fricking nuts. I was using him level 70,level 6 normal skill with shit artefacts and he was still hitting 10k on each laser blast tick.
The test chambers are usually set up to make the characters look strong. In this case the slimes in Neuv's chamber mean he'll immediately get 3 stacks of his passive just by pissing and all the enemies are weak/low level so you do loads of damage.

The thing is that the pipe still at least does something for her elemental skill (the crit). Take a look at the available swords, now take away all that are not for latelets and not for f2p and you're basically stuck with a bunch of sticks that only boost attack (which she doesn't care for) or maybe EM (and who knows if your team is going to use that) or simply just don't go well with the way her elemental skill works.

Golden Troupe is her BIS. At C2 Marechussy Hunter edges it out for personal damage, but you lose significant skill damage and the general consensus is that it isn't worth switching over

The way I see it, if a character can use an alternate mainstat, may as well go for it and give another character that good Hydro goblet instead. This is why I run an ATK goblet on Raiden and Sara has my good Electro goblet
Raiden took an attack goblet for me simply because i hate locking her to buffers.
Much better compared to hydro damage options if the math really does line up like that, and failing anything else you can probably throw in a mediocre HP% from Gilded and make up for it with a ridiculous off set circlet.
The two things that aren't complete thrash in my GT set are my hydro and hp goblet, so i lucked out in a sense.

Yes. You never have to spend for anything. The more you play the more free currency you'll build up for unlocking new characters from the gacha. There's also a pity system so if you save enough you are guaranteed to get the 5* character you want when they are featured.
