I finished this game a few days ago and it was painfully mediocre. The gameplay is basic (which is okay for what it is, even old Ys has basic gameplay) but doesn't have anything else going for it really. The level design is tedious if you want to S rank, half the levels are just the previous levels but in reverse this time, the localization is a meme that's not as big of a meme as Zwei 1 but still bad, and the extra boss is a slow piece of shit fight that's no fun allowed. Some of the music is really good and that's about it.

I wanted to play, but mysteriously in the intro when you're talking to the old guy, he goes to go down stairs but ends up just running into the stairs for all eternity. No clue why, but the game doesn't progress from there.
You can AND should ignore it completely, and in fact you pretty much have to in the harder difficulties because not attacking whenever you can will only frick you up especially against bosses.

You have to beat the game to unlock the jap VA or download some files that overwrite the eng VA.
On Steam it's fully voiced in english by default and you can't choose jp unless you beat the game.
